Dark, twisted, disturbing and painful ending with the bittersweet feeling of conclusion. I loved it!
Overall the Gypsy series is dark, sexy, and full of action. It has so many twists and turns and it will totally keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended!...more

It's horrible to think that bad things happen to children everyday. It is incredibly hard to read this story (especially grafic descriptions of child abuse) but well worth it. I believe more people need to be informed and aware of the events of child abuse and I recommend this book to all. The truth on child molestation needs to be told, and the people who commit these crimes must be stopped or caught.
Every child deserves a safe, loving home, a family that loves and cares for them. Parents are there to protect their children from every kind of molestation, but if that same parents becomes abusers, it´s tragic, depressing and confusing for children. There is simply no excuse for child abuse. I believe that child-molesters, child-rapists and child-murderers deserve death penalty.
It´s amazing to see how these young people have learned to cope with what happened and moved on. They are real life heroes and I admire them for that....more

The story has some loopholes and I didn´t expect much from it but then it turned out to be a major mind-fuck!
I recommend it to my friends with slightly different taste for mind-fuck books. It reminded me a bit on Dark Duet series.

Who could ask for anything more?! Damn you Lily! You simply blown me away! You made me like a monster who had a gentle side and than you ripped my heart out and made him even worse than evil. This is a dark and thrilling ride and that you want to take. One of the rare cases when book number two is better than first book in the series. I recommend this book to everyone who loves an unique, dark, twisted, sexy and disturbing book with anti-heroes!

"My darling, all of this is my fault. I know you think your to blame for what happened. You’re wrong, my love. I’ve been guilty all along..."
SHE is a 16 year old manipulative, cold, calculating and sadistic control freak and she is aggressor here. This Lolita , seed of evil, who's also the protagonist isn't even likable. She lives with her aunt and uncle who "don't understand her", and spends time drawing pornographic and sadistic sketches where she is the one in control and inflicting pain and humiliation on her female school friends. This book is written in the form of a letter that this girl is writing to her ex-lover, teacher, to explain her side of things...
"I wasn´t born innocent. My instincts were vicious, predatory, from the start. When I met you, I had been a voyeur as long as I´d had eyes. My very reflexes were sadistic. The ascent of my reason from the animal ways of infanthood served only to give a form to my state, as a painter gives shape to a colour. It seemed I learned to think in order to fantasise."
HE is the 34-year-old teacher and he begins by worshipping this girl from afar because he knows how morally wrong it would be for him to act upon his desire. He puts her on her a pedestal and becomes obsessed with her, but from afar. She initiates everything, she manipulates him and seduces and controls. She is really topping him from below. But...she teased and pushed and pushed "her darling" (the teacher) until his untamed sexual beast was unleashed and he hurt her in the unforgivable way. She awakened something violent and kinky in this poor guy and she is devastated just because that one time she wasn´t in control...
WHO IS GUILTY HERE? In this extraoridinarily dark psihosexual book they are both innocents: she´s inexperienced but manipulative aggressor, and he is naive but experienced victim.
"I understood that there is another path of innocence: that it can be attained like wisdom. I knew that I am a kind of Holy Innocent, after all. One of God´s special cases. Blundering around inside my own instincts, handicapped. I´m like a Holy Idiot; a retarded child who is closer to Heaven because of his disability. A kind of holy pervert, who struggles every day to be good"
It´s extraoridinary that author Cathy Coote was only 19 years old when she wrote this extremely complex book. Whole the time I was wondering where were aunt and uncle all this time and why they never done anything to stop her from running away from home. I thought that this was some plot hole. But, later I found out that in Australia, where this story takes place, the age of consent is 16.
BE AWARE: This IS NOT a romatic love story! Sexual scenes are too graphic and obscene. They were detailed, but I didn't think they were horrific. I can't recommend this as a general read, but for those interested in the subject matter of Lolita Complex or student-teacher relationship.
RECIPE: 1 cup of Stockholm Syndrome 1 innocent girl who was sexually abused as a child 1 sadistic truck driver/priest with troubled past 1 overly protective psiho/schizophrenic mother 1 truck and miles and miles of dirty road 1 dream of Niagara Falls Add the cruel reality and few cups of bad and selfish people. Blend it all together and read it for about 3-4 hours and you´ll get this awesomeness.
Wanderlust is the dark, frightening story of a naive young woman, kidnapped and held against her will by damaged man who seeks revenge to society. This is a story of survival. It describes two people that have managed to survive injustice and sexual abuse and they still maintained their humanity and a will to escape their circumstances. They are both fighters and they still have a capacity for feeling and emotion, perhaps even love. They still have hope in a better tomorrow.
This book scared me. It´s threatening, challenging and controversial. I loved Wanderlust because there was something so hauntingly beautiful about this book that captured my attention from the first chapter. I especially liked quotes in the beginning of each chapter from Evie´s book about Niagara Falls.
Ms Skye Warren deserves an applause, so I clap for her!
This definitely will not be the last book I will read of Skye Warren.
Warning: This book is not for the faint-hearted readers. If you are not 18 or above or if you simply cannot take tear-jerking books, do not read it....more

"Crazy people lighting cars on fire, all the cars, until whole streets seem to be lined with signal fires. Fires to light the path. The sick putting out their dead. Mass graves. People killing other people with guns and knives. Looting. Beatings. People jumping from tenth-floor windows. Then, the empty city. Day. Night. Empty."
After the "dying", most of the world is wiped out. There are only few survivors (they think so), and they are living in military base. And then comes beautiful Eva...
Eva. She's not the first woman. She is The Last (well, they thing she is). She ate an apple and it brought her lots of trouble. Not with God, but with all mighty Major Smith and his 17 men. All mighty Major decided to give her her first husband for next six months and all the rest will have the pleasure to watch their sexual activites. Her partner's name was't Adam. He was John, Avery, Jason, James, Jake... She was very wicked and wise woman and she had a plan... This selfless women with a heart of gold will bring the peace in this little society with sex. Loads and loads of sex. I know how this sounds. Like a first class porn. But belive me, it's not. She has a high purpuse and it works psychologically by using the sexual therapy. At the end, which is not happy at all, she finds love, happiness and forgiveness in this harsh new world.
23 years after Eva we will meet Eva's children, Cain and Abel Gareth and Nadia.
This second part of book, two decades after the "dying" from deadly virus, the rest of the survived world is fallen apart.
"It's like societies just menage to check the brutality of human nature, but as soon as there's a tear in the fabric, fear, hate, horrible violence come spilling out"
Nix is a second heroine we meet in this book. She is a fighter in the man's world. With only few survivors where men outnumber women ten-to-one, where woman is property and is nothing better than a object which gives a birth, she is trying to save as many females from this harsh world as possible. After all abusing and killing in her life, she doesn't belive in love, and then she meets Gareth, bad boy with golden heart in this cruel world . They are finding the road from victim to freedom and hope of healing from sexual abuse (she as a victim, and he as a abuser), and at the end, they found all this in love.
This futuristic horror is like nothing i've ever read! Its dark and disturbing, sad and hot as hell, horrible and beautiful. It shows us fear of worst kind and monsters, but it shows us and the other side- humanity, sacrifice and kindness. There is no happily ever after in this book and don't expect it. Overall, great writing, a wonderful plot, hot scenes, deep and twisty character psychology. I highly recommend it to everyone! This book is one that will stay with you forever....more

Thankfully, I finally picked up this amazing story of facing and overcoming your fears, of accepting yourself, of having strenght to love again and being loved. Kendra touched my heart very deeply.
Scars is very powerful book. The author, Cheryl Rainfield, is a former cutter and an abuse survivor, and that fact makes Scars even more chilling than it would have been otherwise. The story is so real that I did not want to put the book down, I read it all in one sitting, and I was not disappointed. It's fast-paced, suspenseful, educational, and most of all, emotional. I loved the author's use of art as a language, I loved also the mystery surrounding the abuser and I loved her therapist Carolyn. I admire Kendra the most because of her strength and determination, most of all I admire her strenght to move on and to forgive her ignorant mother after all the bad things that happend to her. Scars isn´t just book about pain, to me, it´s about coping and recovery.
