The main charactersHow to Kill a Rock Star was suggested to me by a friend.I knew the book would be good but I didn't realize it would be MINDBLOWING.
The main characters, Eliza and Paul, have struggled with hard times in their pasts. They are both trying to get by, Paul as a respected musician and Eliza as a music journalist. Eliza is a smart, but damaged girl. Paul Hudson is your typical rock-star. Cute, eccentric and crazy. But in a good way. A true artist. I wanted to kick Eliza a bunch of times throughout the book. She was making stupid and confusing decisions constantly.
Loring Blackman was my favorite guy here. He was my type of musician. He was kind, family man, patient, good looking, not eccentric like Paul. He kept his mouth shut on his feelings for Eliza, he understands she was engaged to Paul. I was so mad at Eliza because she used him to feel the void left after Paul. Yes, I understand what she did and why but she is hurt them both, Loring and Paul. I wanted to smack her for that!
This book is amazing, absolutely stunning, witty and funny. It´s filled with a lot of heartbreak, tears, laughter, and amazing quotes. The writing was one of the best I have ever read. I found a new fictional boyfriend, Loring... and the story was brilliant. I cried my eyes out not just once but a three times! I cannot wait to read this book again.
I don't want to write too much and give anything away. JUST READ IT!
Ms DeBartolo, thank you for a great read...
FAVORITE QUOTES: "Do not get on that train."
"Eliza has the sky in her eyes and I've always wanted to touch the goddamn sky."
"Fate is the magnetic pull of our souls toward people, places, and things we belong with."
“Break my heart? Is that what you just said? I have news for you; you didn't break my heart. My heart's fine. My heart's in the best shape of its life. You know what you did to me? You took an AK-47 and blew my soul open.”
“You can’t judge a man solely on his actions. Sometimes actions are nothing more than re actions.”

When I started reading it I thought this would be my next The Sea of Tranquility. I really wanted to fall in love with this book just like so many of my friends did. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say that I was a little disappointed. I'm not saying that this book was bad, because it wasn't. It was nicely written, had a nice pace and charming characters (especially Micha), but there was a certain lack of energy to it. This book didn't blow me away, but it held my interest long enough to finish it....more
Well, well, well...What have I just read? I butterflying love my girl Glass who recommended this book to me and I love Collleen Hoover and I love this book and Ridge and Warren and everything in between...
"I just punched a girl in the face. Not just any girl. My best friend. My roommate"
I generaly don´t like the books about cheating, but this book was something different. This book is beautiful representation of love, devotion and loyalty and all the pitfalls that can happen in your life. Colleen Hoover has such a unique writing style and I absolutely love reading her stories. They include romance and humor and some very quirky characters! The secondary characters were equally as complex and amazing. Each of them brought something special to this book. What makes Maybe Someday especially special and different is the soundtrack that goes along with it. Being able to listen to Griffin Peterson sing the amazing songs that go with the story brought the characters and the story to life.
This book ruined all other books for me. It shattered my heart into pieces and then filled it up so much I felt like it was going to burst. I had such an emotional reaction to this book that I couldn´t start another one until I worked through the emotions this book brought out in me.
This is one that is on the MUST read shelf for anyone who wants to giggle, snort, cry and grin the silliest of grins for a long time after finishing the book.
“There are only twenty-six letters in the English alphabet. You would think there would only be so much you could do with twenty-six letters. You would think there were only so many ways those letters could make you feel when mixed up and shoved together to make words. However, there are infinite ways those twenty-six letters can make a person feel, and this song is living proof. I’ll never understand how a few simple words strung together can change a person, but this song, these words, are completely changing me. I feel like my maybe someday just became my right now.”
Colleen has somehow used these 26 letters to make me live, breathe, and truly feel the emotions in this story and I´m thankful her for that.

What an amazing tale of adventure and self discovery, life and death. I'll remember this book forever for three reasons: 1. I was so impressed by the authors ability to draw up 3 distinct and powerful characters. 2. The emotions and coping mechanisms each of them express are so realistic and powerful. I felt like the story came alive in so many ways. 3. MUSIC IS GREAT- I thoroughly enjoyed the infusing of soundtracks and melodies that accompanied this novel. I love Jake Tolan and his choice of music.
Overall, I felt like this book was beautifully honest. A delight to read and it´s not so focused on the dark despair of depression that can sometimes take hold when you experience loss. True, the center focus is on a suicide, a lost loved one, but there are also the brilliant points of self discovery, friendship, and the peace that comes when you truly feel you've done the right thing. ...more

I shed so many tears that even my postman asked me if I´m all right. Now I have major problem. I feel so empty inside and though I´m restless. How can I move on now? Surely there must be some cure or support groups for those who have a same problem? I need a new shelf for this book. It would be called PURE PERFECTION.
I´m not a woman of many words but this book was painfully beautiful. It was magnificent! Purely amazing! Heartbreaking and romantic! I am absolutely in love with the characters that Cassandra Clare has created. The lives of Tessa, Jem, and Will are bonded forever and they are unforgettable. My friends know that I am masochist reader and that I´m not a sucker for happily ever after. But this was, by far, the best ending to a trilogy I have ever read. This ending is bittersweet. It lies not in traditional relationship, yet in acceptance of a different kind of happiness, in bearing what is unbearable. It lies in sacrifice which is the ultimate love. Cassandra Clare captured how incredibly complicated and unique love is as an emotion, and in my opinion, she deserves standing ovation.
So, hail and farewell my favorite characters and brothers in arms. I´ll never forget you!
My soundtrack for this book:
These mist covered mountains Are a home now for me But my home is the lowlands And always will be Some day you'll return to me Your valleys and your farms And you'll no longer burn To be brothers in arms
Through these fields of destruction Baptisms of fire I've witnessed all your suffering As the battle raged higher And though they did hurt me so bad In the fear and alarm You did not desert me My brothers in arms
There's so many different worlds So many different suns And we have just one world But we live in different ones
Now the sun's gone to hell And the moon's riding high Let me bid you farewell Every man has to die But it's written in the starlight And every line on your palm We're fools to make war On our brothers in arms...

And in your eyes the ocean And in your eyes the sea The waters frozen over With your longing to be free.
Yesterday you´d awoken To a world incredibly old. This is the age you are broken Or turned into gold...
How can I possible say that I loved this book when it broke my heart into pieces and I am still trying to recover from this emotionally intense and shocking reading.
