"I was alive. I burned brightly. And then I died, but not really. Because someone like me cannot, will not, die like everyone else. I linger like the legends of the Blue Hole. I will always be here, in the offerings and people I left behind."
"May your eye go to the Sun, To the wind your soul... You are all the colors in one, at full brightness."
"But that´s not him, don´t you see? People like Theodore Finch don´t die. He´s just wandering."

At least, that´s how my innocent brain had pictured them. Men whose interior ugliness showed on their exterior flesh. Again, I used to be so naive. The worst monsters are the ones that don´t look like monsters, because they fool you into complacency with their beauty. While you´re busy mooning over their six-pack or their dazzling baby blues, they sneak up behind you, hit you over the head with a club, and drag you back to their cave. It´s been that way since the dawn of man. Since the age of neanderthal. I know that, now."
This book is disturbing on so many levels. I like it......more

For God wanted to see if true love could be tested. He wanted to see if two halves of one soul could find each other again, even against the odds. Years would pass. They would both be hurt. They would both be sad, but one day, when they least expected it, they would stumble into each other’s paths. The question is: would they recognize each other’s soul? And would they find their way back to love…?”
Nice story, but all in all, nothing special or unseen....more

This quote was on my mind the whole time I read this novella so I just had to write it down.
Let´s see. First I just have to say that I didn't have high expectations for this series, and boy was I wrong. My apologies to the authors and all the fans.
This is 1,5 novella in the Addicted series by Krista and Becca Ritchie and it takes place immediately after the end of Addicted to You (Book 1) and ends just prior to the start of Addicted for Now (Book 2). Lily and Lo, our favorite addicts, are being separated for 3 months. While Lo is in rehab, she is trying to cope with her own addiction and is trying to reconnect with her family. It's a difficult read about a sex and an alcohol addiction, but the bond between Lily and Lo is pretty awesome. They both are exhausted and they are feeling lost by their loved one's addiction struggles. This book (novella) provides a rare look into the manic mind of a struggling addict. I could feel their emotions almost to a point where I felt love for the addict. Their struggles and emotions are so gripping. I've never experienced an addiction like in this series. One of the things I like the most about this book though were Lily's flashbacks of her and Lo. You get more insight of their relationship and how it was back then when they were younger and it's just so interesting and sweet. They were in love for so long and they didn´t even know that.
To cut a long story short: -original storyline -great writing style -wonderful set of characters (especially Rose and Connor Cobalt, Ryke & Daisy were a bit annoying to me).
These books are just addicting...just as the title/series says.

Unexpected things are those that change our lifes, and if I had to choose one word to describe this book it would be UNEXPECTED.
Books that are out of the ordinary have their own special appeal and this book I consider the unusual, the bizarre, and the new.
Firstly I hated the main female character , pretentious Layana. She was so much like Olivia from The Opportunistor Amy in second part of book Gone Girl. She is rich and spoiled, rotten cheater and you tell me, what a female character is allowed to get away with behaviour that? Well, this girl can get away with this! Why? I don´t want to tell you because i want that you all read this book. She is a main female characters who exhibits great resilience and courage. And I loved it!
Brant? Brant Sharp is a self-made billionaire, a true genius, and major philanthropist that just also happens to be gorgeous. A classical too good to be true male character. And...he has a big dark secret. And there comes Lee, our tortured hero. And then we have one wicked aunt/bitch Jilian.
Secrets, cheating and love triangle. You think you heard it all. Boy you are so wrong!
Alexandra Torre is obviously an evil genius when it comes to dropping small hints that aren’t really hints and making you HOPE for things you shouldn’t hope for. She is an excellent author. My point is that Black Lies is a total masterpiece. You think you know, but you have no idea until you read it.

"I´m convinced that hell has an intercom system and the buzz of my alarm clock is played at full volume on repeat against the screams of all the lost souls."
I have mixed feelings about the current novella trend in fiction. Shorter works featuring secondary characters from a successful full-length book or covering a discrete span of time before/after the action. Problem is that the novella is a specific prose form that isn't always easy to carry off. Longer than a short story, shorter than a novel,it requires careful plotting to get the pacing right. But you don´t have to worry about that things while reading Colleen´s novellas. They are perfect.
Maybe Not tell us a story about side characters of Maybe Someday, Warren and Bridgette who are everything but not ordinary. They are odd, goofy, silly, evil, mean...The author developed this characters in such a way that you must loved them. Colleen Hoover has such a brilliant writing style and I highly recommend all her books!
Without giving too much away, as I do not appreciate those who give reviews and spoil the storyline, I will say this novella is not just about Warren's story. It´s quite funny and enjoyable read for fans of a well-written story, well-crafted characters who make you warm in your belly and laugh out loud.
This is one that is on the MUST read shelf for anyone who wants to giggle, snort, and grin the silliest of grins for a long time after finishing the book. ...more
