I applaud George R. R. Martin for making these characters seem so real. That's actually pretty hard to accomplish, considering there are so many voices in this book.
Oh, these characters, from the good, the bad, and the ugly, you guys are such suckers and winners.
(view spoiler)[ Now welcome to my stream of consciousness. BRIENNE AND JAIME <3 OTP. And why is JON SNOW so fucking perfect? EVEN HIS IMPERFECTIONS ARE PERFECT! I know I didn't really like Ygriette, but I felt really bad for her after she died, so maybe she should have lived. SER LORAS, YOU ARE PISSING ME OFF. You're dumb. If you really liked Renly, you would've seen how much more Brienne loved Renly. God, you're ANNOYING. Where is your gallantry? Damn you, fake ass. TYRION, you actually became a kinslayer. Not sure how I feel about that...I know your dad was a douchebag, but still. However, I liked how you cared for Sansa, even though she didn't give two shits about you. THANK MARTIN LYSA DIED. I would have killed her myself by....by stabbing my book into pieces? Littlefinger is evil. Oh, I know. I read some spoilers about him, and I'm not liking it. I feel so bad for Sansa, my heart aches for her! I still really like her, but I feel terrible for her. I just want Sansa to be with Arya again. Oh, I really want Sansa to acknowledge Jon as her brother. She claims she's alone in this world, but she's stupid. She has Jon. ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, YOU POOR CHILD! SER JORAH, I totally knew you were going to betray her. One for love, remember? I'm not too sure if all that was coherent, but I'm loving this. I really do.
I love her writing. There’s something so poetic yet so straight to the point about it. Her writing is magical. It really is.
The way she writers her characters. The way she writes feelings. The way she writes action. You are in the story, no matter what.
What I loved most about The Raven Boys regarding the writing was the point of view she chosen. It just so worked so well for the entire story! Third person past tense! Who would have guessed? I’m so used to reading and writing in first person present tense that this was so incredibly refreshing.
The way Maggie expresses each character with this perspective was just so well done. She carefully chooses each character for us to read and by using third-person, we have all the wishy washyness of first-person eliminated and we are presented with an actual human being. We are seeing him for who he really is. And JASDJFA;KSDJF;ASDFAKLSDJ WAH IT WAS SO FUCKING GOOD. Maggie is so just gifted at writing! We get invested in each character while following the overall story arc at the same time! Yo, that’s really hard to do.
Kudos to you, Stiefvater.
Because of the way the The Raven Boys is told, I swear I have a bond with each and every character.
And let me tell you, these characters were so real and wonderful and… colorful, for a lack of a better word. There’s so much more to them than you think.
Gansey, Ronan, Adam, and Noah are all so complicated.
And that’s why I love them. Because they aren’t perfect. They’re far from perfect, yet their imperfections make them perfect. I love how Stiefvater brings that reality to a magical and fantastical story.
Can I have attractive boy friends like the Raven boys? Ha!
Now let’s talk about Blue. I really like her. I’ve come to really admire her character, actually. The thing with Blue, however, is that she really reminds me of Grace from the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because I do love Grace, but Blue’s voice eerily jogs such a memory of Grace. Recycling similar characters is just a big MEH for me. I really don’t think the author intended on recycling Grace, but it does sound like it. (A bit).
BUT THANK YOU, MAGGIE STIEFVATER, FOR NOT FOCUSING ON ROMANTICAL (this is not even a word) ASPECTS I THOUGHT THIS BOOK WOULD HAVE.
Yes, shippings will start from the first book, obviously, but I love how Stiefvater didn’t focus on the romance development (yes, I coined this phrase a while ago) between Blue and Gansey. (view spoiler)[ What I loved most about the romance was Adam and Blue’s little thing. It was cute and unexpected, because we’re all thinking about Blue and Gansey, right? I loved that surprise. New concept. I’ve never seen that before. BUT WAIT! Love triangle coming up? Hmmm… (hide spoiler)] It was nice and I didn’t mind at all. In fact, I actually LOVED reading the relationship between all four Raven boys instead. <3 (view spoiler)[ When Ronan beated up Adam's dad, I was just screaming FUCK YEAAAAH. Okay, who else predicted Noah's fate? I thought he was going to be evil or something, but I really liked him from the beginning haha! He reminded me of Itachi from this fanfic I read a while ago LMFAO. Who is your favorite Raven boy? I honestly love all of them! Though I think Adam will become evil. I think I like Ronan a bit better than Gansey even though I want to like Gansey. Makes sense? (hide spoiler)]
ANYWAY, I LOVE THIS SERIES. THAT'S ALL.

Clockwork Princess hit me. It hit me a bunch of bricks raining down on me. Holy shit, my God was this book so different from the rest of the series! If only Cassandra Clare wrote the first two books as she wrote this!
I didn’t like the first book at all. And the second book was good, but never did I expect to continuously cry throughout Clockwork Princess. Never did I expect to get sucked into the story, the characters, the writing. Never did I expect to care for any of these characters! For fuck’s sake, if you read my review for Clockwork Prince, you’ll know how much I disliked Will and Tessa. How much I pitied Jem, blaming Clare for undermining his character. But no, no, no, no.
What the fuck actually happened?
I have no idea. All I know is that I love all these characters with all my heart.
(view spoiler)[ Favorite parts of the book: • Gabriel and Charlotte’s talk, Gabriel’s confession • Will stabbing Jem’s sword in the ground on his way to save Tessa • The epilogue • Jem’s goodbye to Tessa and Will before he joins The Brotherhood
Favorite characters: • Gabriel • Magnus Bane • Cecily • Jem :)
How many times did I cry throughout the book? I don’t remember. I just remembered continuously bawling when Jem said his goodbye. And the epilogue! Will dying, I knew Will’s death was inevitable, but I didn’t want him to! Now that I finally accepted Will for he was, he just died? Tears, tears, tears and more tears.
I love Gabriel. I love Gabriel more than Will and Jem, actually. He’s so courageous, and his confession towards Charlotte. Wow. My heart. Gabriel and Cecily hehe <3. Although I disliked how Clare made everyone fall in love, it wasn't too bad since I liked all the characters. ALL the secondary characters.
Incredible end to a series I had no hope for.
The only things I have to complain, which is not that important anymore, is the sex scene between Will and Tessa. I was so disgusted with the both of them. And the ending was so incredibly rushed! Mortmain just died, and everything just "became a blur." I'll let that one go, Clare, because I totally underestimated you.
After everything she went through, after all those horrible things, she was still so strong. So FUCKING strong.
I'm telling you, she's perfect, even though she has flaws. She does not let them affect her and she tries to make the best of any situation. She believes in herself but does not lie to herself and make pointless and feeble rationalization.
The only problem I have with Six is the actress who plays her. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THE PERSON WHO WAS CASTING HER THINKING?!!!? WAS HE/SHE ON DRUGS WHEN HE/SHE DID IT?!?! FUCK HIM/HER TO THE DEEPEST PITS IN HELL.................................................................am I being too mean?!

I cannot even begin to describe the goodness and greatness of this book.
There was so much adventure and action going on that I literally had to put the book down because my heart kept racing. And the plot was so well thought out, so creative― ahh, I love it so much. The Power of Six made me so emotional and that's why I liked it so much. I felt connected to the characters and what they were going through. There were sad parts, happy parts, funny parts, and oh Jesus. It was too much. Too fucking much haha.
The biggest reason why I like this book so much is because of Six. My favorite character in this novel.
I can honestly say she jumped to the top of my favorite-female-fictional-characters-of-the-entire-world list after I finished this book.
She is so bad-ass. She is so beautiful. And I love her legacies. She is the definition of an ideal person, if she even is one of course. She doesn't let her flaws affect her and that's perfection to me. Why can't authors create more girls like her??!
