After being rescued from an eternity of unspeakable torment in the bowelsKane, the keeper of the demon Disaster, has literally been to Hell and back. After being rescued from an eternity of unspeakable torment in the bowels of Hell, Kane has been changed forever. Even though his physical scars may heal, his soul has been permanently stained by his experience.
In return for helping Kane escape Hell, Josephina ask only one favor from The Lord of the Underworld. She only requests that he return the favor in kind by helping her escape her torment, ...... by ending her life. As a blood slave to the Royal Court of the Fae, Josephina must endure the punishments levied against her half sister, Princess Synda. Synda is also the keeper of the demon, Irresponsibility, so her punishments were frequent and severe. While Kane's experience has hardened him exponentially, he still retains enough of his old self that he refuses to kill the confusing but gorgeous woman who brings light to his darkness.
I was waiting and waiting for Kane's book, and I will admit it was with some trepidation because of a previous book in this series that left my eye twitching. Since the beginning, Kane has been one of my favorites. Bless his pitiful little heart, that boy just can't catch a break. Things falling on his head, glass exploding in his hand, it's just one thing after another. So, I needed Kane's book to be beyond special. My boy needed an EPIC story. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Gena!! I loved it and was absolutely giddy with Kane and Tink's book. Tink's (Kane's pet name for Josephina) sense of humor, her coping mechanisms for getting through her life, and her faith in Kane made her absolutely perfect. After his captivity, Kane needed someone to make him believe in himself and to put laughter back in his life.
Darkest Craving puts Lords of the Underworld series right back on top. Ms. Showalter's brilliant hand with her characters, plot , snarky dialogue and most especially the sizzling sex, shines through on every page. It has restored my breathless anticipation for the next book. I don't know who I'm pulling for the most, Torin, William or Cameo. I dare say I will love them all....more

Elizabeth Staab concluded the series with the best book yet! Lee gave me some problems at first and I thought I might have to get out my cast iron attitude adjuster. I know this will likely offend the more devout of my readers, but this book was a religious experience for me. I didn’t know whether to send more money for a book that is obviously under priced or search for a vampire priest or what, I just knew I had been irrevocably changed and needed to express my sincere gratitude for being able to partake in this journey with Wrath and Beth.

A rabid fan since Slave to Sensation, book #1 in the Psy-Changeling series, the last couple of books had left me slightly disappointed. Heart of Obsidian had been touted as the book to answer all questions and the best addition to date. I had enormous expectations, so of course I wanted to preserve my hope for greatness. Expectations met and exceeded!!! Wow, just freaking wow! Loved it! Want to marry it!
Kaleb was such a paradox of good and utter evil that I was hard pressed to declare him as prime hero material. Nalini Singh, as a master storyteller, slowly extinguished all my doubts and made me a Kaleb groupie for life. The blending of cause and effect was truly brilliant and in my opinion a feat of magic worthy of Penn and Teller. In order to salvage Kaleb for the readers, he must have the perfect heroine to pull him out of the cold darkness he has inhabited for so very long. Sahara absolutely fit the bill, damaged but not broken, strong yet compassionate, and above all a piece of Kaleb's heart that will keep him sane.
To incorporate this monumental love story into the complete upheaval of the Psy world and not slight either aspect should be a near impossible task, but Nalini handled it with panache. This book completely resurrected my dwindling love of this series and I applaud Nalini Singh's wonderful talent and her ability to capture the hearts and minds of millions. ...more

I waited a couple of days hoping something eloquent or at least deserving of this EPIC masterpiece, but I came to realize that nothing I could possibly think of would adequately convey how much I worship this book. This is beyond a 5 star book. It is a 5 star squared. I didn't think anything could top Acheron, a book that literally changed my life. (Yes, it really impacted me that much)
For those of us who have followed the DH series from it's inception we're starting to wonder if maybe Sherrilyn was spreading herself too thin. She definitely has many, many balls in the air. This book literally smacked me in the face for ever doubting her genius and for this I sincerely apologize. For those who are new to the series, you can read this book as a stand alone but you truly would negate the complex relationships that have evolved over the years.
Even though I often wondered if there was more to the Styxx storyline, I really didn't expect it to alter my view of Acheron (my all time favorite hero). Styxx may have knocked him to second place or at the very least it is a tie. The torture and tragedy that Styxx endured would give the readers nightmares if they are even remotely invested in the DH saga. I don't believe I have ever cried as much for any book, much less a romance that guarantees a HEA. This was truly an emotional roller coaster of a story. For all it's length, I still read Styxx in one sitting, forgoing sleep and pretty much anything that would cause me to put down the book. Do I sound a tad fanatical? Well, that's because I am, and I make no bones about the fact that I revere this series in all it's hills and valleys. If you have not read this book yet, you are missing out on one of the jewels of romance....more

This book had it all, sexy dragons looking for their destined mates, money, jewels, intrigue, and a fun exciting story set in the glitz and glamour of Vegas that ties it all together. This book had one of my favorite romantic elements. The "Mine" factor. That is when a being sees or touches their mate and just knows. It all clicks into place.... MINE.
Alec was absolutely perfect. King of the dragons, he is ushering in a peace that has never existed and that a few want to destroy. This new world created by Susannah Scott is enthralling and I would so live at this casino. Rife with international politics, backstabbing, romance, desperation and a species on the brink of extinction, there is no rest in Luck of the Dragon.
I liked Lucy, she was smart, grounded and gutsy. Buuuuut she had a blind spot for her idiot brother and this caused many curse words to fly from my mouth at elevated volumes. Annnnd she hurt Alec, this gave me eye twitches and a facial tic. You know, you know, that I would never, ever give a book a five rating unless penance is served, so rest easy. I loved this book, I was invested in these characters and I really, really recommend you give this series a shot. Roll the dice, the odds are in your favor. Excellent job and bravissima!! ...more

They have a tendency to languish there because if I don’t read them, then series never ends. Irrational I know, but then I am a bit odd. I have been waiting for Dagan’s book for YEARS!!! We even had a brief moment during an interview once. Dagan is my DUDE!!! And I love these demons, but , but , BUT……. THIS IS THE END! Arggggggghh!!
As a Detainor for the Council that governed otherworlders, Ronin usually had more than enough on his plate. Living in the human realm with his three hAs a Detainor for the Council that governed otherworlders, Ronin usually had more than enough on his plate. Living in the human realm with his three half brothers, Keegan, Taeg and Dagan, there was usually enough elicit demon activity to keep them busy, but with Keegan now married and expecting a child, and Taeg newly engaged, well…. things were changing and Ronin was bored. It was that boredom that had him showing up at one of Dagan’s favorite hangouts, Opiate. Ronin found a cure for boredom all right, in the form of a deadly succubus named Amara, who left him nearly dead after the hook up from Hell. Now mostly recovered a new assignment has come in from the Council. They need to capture the incubus Asmodeus and his dark fae puppet master, and who turns up as their key to taking the bad guys down, Ronin’s succubus, Amara.
I swear by all that is sexy. I knew Ronin was too hot for his own good. I knew all that laid back, angelic gorgeousness was going to get him in trouble and I was right. That trouble came in the form of a seductive succubus, Amara. Succubae emit a poison that is deadly to otherworlders, and only incubae are immune, so when Amara and Ronin did the dirty, it was nearly lights out for my favorite half demon/half angel bounty hunter. Luckily for fans of this series, Rosalie Lario would never let that happen. What she did was give her readers yet another glorious book to obsess over about the lives and loves of these infinitely fascinating demon brothers. For me this was the most emotional book by far, especially for Dagan, the youngest and most mysterious of the brothers. He is watching his older brothers thrive while still continuing with his tom catting around. But something tells me he might be taking a permanent hiatus from that lifestyle in the foreseeable future. But I digress, this is Ronin and Amara's beautiful story.
It's already a given that I adore Ronin, that I love this series, and that Ronin's heroine was going to have to be something special. So when I saw she was a succubus, I was a little skeptical. I mean Ronin is just sooooo...... and succubae are just a tad sketchy and not the most discerning of beings. How as that going to work? Would Ronin have a mate compelled to constantly seek new partners? Ugh! The thought breaks my heart. Not to fear fellow Infernumphiles, all questions are answered and approved. We also have a mention and hint about how the evil and vile Mammon is faring under his imprisonment by the Council. But there is even greater evil afoot in the guise of a dark fae and his minion Asmodeous (Amara's master) who intend to over throw the Council and take the power for themselves. *shudder* This is indeed a book for the "Keeper" shelf and thankfully the family is expanding so I'm sure there will be plenty more keepers still to come. ...more

I am talking ice water to the face, down your shirt, and any other inflammatory part of your body, hot. I don't know why it is, but nothing will sear my steak faster than well done dirty talk. It doesn't have to be elaborate or even exceedingly kinky, just well done. Smith was a effing CHAMPION! I would have knocked that boy down and rode him like a Derby winner. First Exposure by Elisabeth Naughton
This is the story of Avery Scott, an all American actress, in search of her missing friend/assistant. The PI firm she hires assigns Cade Blackwell to her case. Avery and Cade have a history, a case of first love gone very, very wrong. The trail leads them to a swingers resort in Jamaica. It doesn't take a genius to see where this one goes.
First Exposure set the tone for the rest of the anthology. Hot, hot, hot! Most of the story is set at an adults only resort where ANYTHING goes. I enjoyed this portion of the book. Avery and Cade were believable characters, although I would definitely have made Cade grovel.... A LOT. His overall demeanor in the beginning had me looking for my cast iron skillet. I would have liked to have seen Avery rub her success in Cade's face just a little. My vengeful wishes aside, this was a good example of a sweet story peppered with some very steamy sex.
First Rapture by Alexandra Ivy
Madison Phillips had a teenage crush on Luc Angeli that she made no secret about. On the night Luc finally gives in to Madison's crush, he leaves before the sweat had dried on their satisfied skin. Crushed and heartbroken, Madison has spent the following years dreaming of getting her pound of flesh and now she is ready to collect.
I love a good revenge story and if that story has great sex well all the better. Once again however, The heroine, Madison is not quite as vicious as I would have liked. I mean, if a guy takes your virginity and then says basically "Have a nice life", well, I would have been out for blood, or even better, his prized body parts. Luc is repentant, to a degree. He decides he wants Madison back in his life and then goes about ensuing his desire. Hmmm, too easy. There is also the meddlesome best friend ( I am not a fan of these), who decides Madison doesn't know what's best for herself. Despite these minor glitches, Alexandra Ivy still spins a good tale and provided the reader with a good tale.
First Taste of Darkness by Cynthia Eden
Jess Delaney has recently found out her fiancé was not the faithful soul he should have been. Heartbroken she decides to have a wild night in Vegas. She catches the eye of Blake Landon, a big fish in the Vegas scene. Always fearful of gold diggers, Blake is captivated by Jess's innocence. Jess gets caught in Blake's world of high finance and those who would try to take what Blake has built.
This was an action packed story with great suspense and intrigue. Still managing to be an extremely sexy story, this section of the anthology had a truly enjoyable thread of mystery and as the title states, darkness. Jess was truly a fish out of water in this book. The world in which she finds herself is completely foreign and catches her flat footed. I completely believed the characters and there reactions to their circumstances. I would definitely have bought this book as a stand alone.
First Ink by Laura Wright
Rush Merrick was one of the most sought after tattoo artist in the country. He has a waiting list a mile long and numbers many celebrities among his clients. Addison is the one that broke his young heart in a very public and humiliating way. After years of regretting her actions, Addison shows up at Rush's shop for a tat and maybe forgiveness.
When I first started this book I discovered it was written in first person, and I was all like "No, Laura, No!". Then I discovered it was written from both POV's. This was an awesome surprise. One of the reasons I'm not a fan of first person perspective is not knowing why the other characters react the way they do. Laura dealt with this issue spectacularly. With her signature hotness, Laura spins the story of heartbreak, reunion and redemption with a master's touch. Rush was a totally sympathetic, but droolworthy hero. Addison not so much. Can you tell I'm a heroaphile? Addison does redeem herself in a most public way, which saved her IMHO. Once again, Laura Wright hits it out of the park.
First Surrender by Katie Reus
At 22 years of age, Sierra is head chef at one of the top chefs in Vegas, an amazing achievement for one so young. She has had a major crush on the new head of security , Hayden, almost from the moment they met. Now best friends, neither realizes that they both want to move from he friend zone to the bedroom.
I really liked all the books in this anthology and adore all the writers and their talent, but this was hands down my favorite story. I love a friends to lovers theme. I was totally into Hayden and Sierra's story and was sorry the book was so short, and shock of all shocks, I had not one single complaint about Sierra. First Surrender moves quickly without leaving important details behind. There were great secondary characters and a compelling tale in which the sex was an extra spice and not the entire dish. If I wasn't already a fan of Katie's, this book would have tipped the scales.
First Temptation by Joan Swan
Zoe Brooks is a much respected Border Patrol Supervisor, but she is looking for a change. With a chance to work undercover on the capture of one of the biggest drug and weapons smugglers, she sees her chance. From the moment he laid eyes on the butch female, Taft Walker made no bones about the fact that he didn't believe Zoe had the chops to work this case. He made no effort at diplomacy and told her point blank that she wasn't woman enough to play the femme fatale. Boy, did he have that one wrong.
It has to be obvious by now that I am all about the heroes. That being said..... I would have clocked Taft soon after opening his mouth. He did wind up eating his words, and then decided he wanted to get Zoe in the sack, no strings attached. Zoe handles the situation professionally, and with great aplomb. She is just as blunt with Taft about her " not with her co-workers" policy. Their journey together was sexy, danger filled, and with a great underlying humor. There is a very sexy pole dancing scene that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that Zoe was most assuredly all woman. All in all this was a truly enjoyable ending to this anthology.
This is a set of stories that I really, really regret was not in print. I would have paid the extra money in a heartbeat. To have all these amazing authors in one place is beyond the measly amount one would pay. While I did like some tales better than others, it's like comparing diamonds and sapphires, I wouldn't sneeze at either one. These are stories I will read and reread over and over and is a "must have" for lovers of erotic romance. Brava, ladies, brava.

Sophia Duncombe is on the run from her abusive father after he has nearly beaten her to death over her failure to submit to one of his friend's attempts to impregnate her. After gaining employment as a maid for the mysterious, and often referred to as insane, Earl of Devon, Sophia finds that what many consider bizarre and objectionable, may just be the thing to set her free.
Wilhelm Montegue, Earl of Devon, cares little for the conjecture of polite society as to his sanity or sexuality. As a former assassin and master spy for the crown, Wilhelm is entitled to his side trips from reality on occassion. His extreme OCD, PTSD, and Savant syndrome indeed make Wilhelm seem a likely candidate for Bedlam. The one thing that may save him from falling completely into madness is the mysterious and unlikely maid who has captured his heart.
These two characters were just a joy to meet and get to know. Even through all their combined troubles, they had a dry wit that brought a smile to my face even during the most harrowing passages. I was captivated by their story from the first paragraph. For two people who life had shown nothing but tragedy, Wilhelm and Sophia still managed an air of innocence and hope. Wilhelm was so used to being a pariah, that Sophia didn't immediately spurn him gave him just the nudge he needed to climb out of his cups and grab the happiness he thought was forever out of reach. Sophia was a great heroine She was intelligent, tough and determined to take her fate into her own hands. She was also incredibly perceptive and open minded. Although she initially questioned Wilhelm's sexuality, she still held him in great esteem and valued him as a person. I truly liked both of these characters and their oddness. Moriah Densley has done a magnificent job of crafting a story that succeeds not on rampant sex or trite story lines, but on the merits of it's characters and their journey. Will I visit Moriah Densley's works again? Absolutely. Do I recommend this book? With a resounding yes! Well done, Ms. Densley, well done. ...more
