Small stories and poems regarding various things are part of the book. There are 2 paragraph stories to 2-3 pages stories. There is not a skeleton on the stories subject. They just appear. But most importantly the book is fun, ironic and sarcastic. From serious matters like death, to things we do every day, like our relationship with our phones, you can say there are stories for everything. There are also poems based on famous books or what about a poem on a cat?
As you see, the book is just so different than anything else. My favorites ones were the small stories (which weren't more than one page). They were really fast, funny and thoughtful (My favorite one was "The End". I still laugh when i think of it). Then were some poems and then the stories. The stories with the gods(Death, Love, War,etc) were so great and so true!! My reactions to most of the book were like "hahahaa" and then "ohh...so true though..clever".
I won't say i liked all of the stories or poems, but definitely had an entertaining evening. And the book cost only $0.99, so why not? As for Mr. James Hutchings...i think he has gone a little over the insanity line :p(less)
How original and cool the concept of the books seem eh? It really makes you want to read it! That's why i picked it up anyway.

So here we are with what seems like something new. Is it though? Yes and no. I mean there are some cliche things and it reminded me other YA books from the point of a more generic theme but still it had the element of difference. The mysteries in the book, really make you to want read and read to see what happens. Plus, Llona is a really great character and quite enjoyable to read about her. She does have some weird moments, but don't we all? I like when a character it's not too perfect.
I can't say the romance was too much of wow after everything i have read but it was nice and the scenes were quite entertaining even though it was the usual forbidden love story, we all see nowdays in books.
If i have something negative to say, it would be on the writing part. There were points it seems so poor done and others that it seemed really professional from someone who has write before. It wasn't bad, but it make me wonder if some parts of the book were written a lot earlier than the others.
In general i would say, it's a good read. I could maybe read one more time. Do not expect the super duper novel, but it worth its time.(less)

A combination of magic, dragons, realm traveling, adventure, romance, humor, fights, prophecies and really good sketches make the novel unique. If i'm right, Once in a Blue Moon has been published before as a graphic novel but little differently. As far as i've seen, i like way more Emma Vieceli's art. Even though the galley was all black and white (i have no idea if the printed version is like it), the novel felt simply full of everything. It was actually like reading in color. Like when you read books, and the images in your head are better than any movie out there. It's exactly like that with Avalon Chronicles.
On the story now...love the idea of traveling back and forth in the Avalon and in our world. Loved each one of the characters. The knights, the commander, the writer, the magician, Aeslin and her friend. They all feel so special and different. Like each one has a special part in this story, big or small.
The story can be at the same time serious and funny. I giggled a lot through it, that's for sure. And even though at times can be silly and too girly, i think that even the boys will like it. At the same time is original and something we've seen before and worked out good.

I really can't get into the book. Every 4-5 pages i stop and i do something else. I found the whole thing confusing and sometimes the details make me sleepy. It's not a bad book but something is missing for me. The idea behind it is actually clever. I really loved the "Schrodinger's Cat" chapter. It was quite interesting. But unfortunately i can't connect with the characters or really understand what's happening. I took a glimpse from some of the chapters later in the book but they didn't get my attention or made me to want to go on.
