The title grabbed me, the cover art let me know this could be a fun read, and within the first chapter I was hooked! Delaney works at a restaurant in Brooklyn, pastries and candies are her specialty. When returning to work after hours to pick up a forgotten item, she witnesses something in the back that has her on the run and fearing for her life. Popping in a shop open late, she spots an opportunity to go into hiding as another person. Eternamate was the shop that arranges prospective matches.
Finding her way to Nocturne Falls and meeting Hugh, whose grandmother had arranged the match, Delaney's adventures are about to begin! I loved the characters, and the town that celebrates Halloween all year long with supernatural characters living secretly but out in the open, sort of, with humans and tourists sounds like a great place to live! Mafia, campfires, werewolves, witches and a feisty heroine make for a fun read!
Fans of Katie MacAlister, Lynsay Sands, and MaryJanice Davidson will enjoy this new series!...more

A littleMichele Bardsley had shared a link to this story on Facebook, and I'm glad I picked this, and the next two ebook soldiers in this series up. A little different from her Broken Heart series, but some interesting characters, and a little different world building make for a unique story.
Arabelle was originally the 2nd oldest, and had gone away to go to college in hopes of becoming a nurse. Her sister's death meant that she had to come back home and take her place in the Choosing. In exchange for protection and food, her town would give their first born daughters when they came of age, to become brides for werewolves in the Shadow Pack in need of a mate.
A situation arises where she caught the eye of the Alpha Gray Burke. At first I was worried this might be an erotica story, and while it has a little of that, it has a good story to keep you glued to the pages! She packed a lot of action and intrigue in this novella. Loved it! ...more
I loved this collection of short stories set in the world of our favorite Coyote Shifter, Mercedes Thompson. The first, "Silver", tells Samuel's storyI loved this collection of short stories set in the world of our favorite Coyote Shifter, Mercedes Thompson. The first, "Silver", tells Samuel's story of how he (& his father Bran) first became werewolves, as well as Ariana's past and how a werewolf first fell in love with a Fae. This was one of the 4 new stories in this anthology "Fairy Gifts" I remembered reading somewhere else, but enjoyed reading it again. Set in a mining town in Montana, a young man, Thomas, whose family is Chinese and works both in the mines, as well as involved in other pursuits. Thomas's life changes when his family gives him to a monster. He rescues a young Fae girl, who helps him. Centuries later, he comes back to a changed town. I've also read "Gray" before. Elyna is a young vampire who returns to Chicago to rebuild her life, after she inadvertently killed someone she cared about. While trying to stay under the radar, she works on fixing up her home with the help from some cops who do repair work on the side. "Seeing Eye" was in PN Elrod's Strange Brew Anthology, and we get the story of how the werewolf Tom met the white with Moira. These two have appeared in the novel Hunting Ground. "Alpha and Omega" is the story that brought Charles and Anna together, and a spin off series was born. "The Star of David" helps bring a father (mercenary werewolf) home to help a boy his daughter has under her care, and to bring a fractured family back together. "Roses in Winter" is a story of Asil, his winter garden, and a young girl changed into a werewolf against her will. Loved this story! "In Red, With Pearls" is a story of Warren and Kyle, and why someone would want to kill Kyle, the human lawyer and love of Warren. Warren's shiny new P.I. license just gives him some credibility (along with his werewolf senses) to try to figure out who and why before it happens again. "Redemption" is a fun story about British Werewolf Ben working as an I.T. Guy and data base administrator. Anyone who's met Ben in the Mercy books will get a kick out of this one! "Hollow" has Mercy being asked to help a man who is being haunted by his murdered wife's ghost. This takes place after the events in Night Broken. There are two short out takes from Silver Borne and Night Broken just for fans of the series. ...more

I really liked the character of Sienna, who didn't know that her loving grandfather had a different life outside of just running a successful winery. When she is sent to deliver a case of wine to their neighbor that she's had a crush on since she was fifteen. When their encounter is interrupted by a hired gun, she is accused of being a distraction and thrown out. Her treatment after she returned home was not what was expected, and events lead into more danger for her.
Elijah is not as likable a character in the beginning, but once he realized that he nearly lost the most important person that was brought into his life.
I liked that the other characters from the previous books in the series have interconnecting stories. There are times when the intimate scenes are perfect for the. Moment, and other times a little too excessive and repetitive and found myself glossing over some of those scenes.
I liked the action and fight scenes among the leopards, and when there was a story happening that went beyond just Sienna and Elijah.
I was a little disappointed that the ending didn't lead to a specific event that was in the planning stages. Hopefully that will be a part of the next one!

She made each character's voice so unique and distinctive.
*Spoilers, if you have not read the previous books, and if you haven't, why not? It's an amazing retelling of some favorite fairy tales!
Marissa Meyer did a wonderful job with these 4 novels! The stories of classic fairy tales set in futuristic Earth and Lunar locations, where the stories of Lin Cinder, a cyborg who was a lost princess, and kidnapped an Emperor; Scarlet Benoit, a farm girl who falls for a street fighter named Wolf, who had never had a tomato;; Cress, who is trapped not in a high tower, but a space pod orbiting the moon, who happens to have some mad computer hacking skills; and Winter, step daughter to a jealous tyrant queen, and who is suffering from Lunar Sickness. She weaves all of these stories together wonderfully, and I loved the android Aiko, with her faulty personality chip, and Captain Thorn, pirate turned hero! And, of course, Emporor Kaito, who is willing to sacrifice so much to save his people... Plus, a very satisfying ending, though this reader was still left wanting more!...more

Nicely built up, with introducing the main female characters of Gwen and Bridget, who come from different families and backgrounds before they start their one year service in the Guard. His world building was excellent! While there were multiple storylines going on, especially after we are introduced to Aeronaut Captain Grim and his crew, as well as all the interesting supporting characters, it flowed well with the narration.
I'm normally not a fan of steampunk, I did enjoy this story very much!...more
