I can understand some of the complaints about the ending, but to me it felt right. If you like Valente this is definitely worth picking up.
On a side note, few publishers rival the quality of physical books that Subterranean puts out, the paper feels wonderful and the binding is perfect.(less)

I liked the tying together of the games, whether planned or done after the fact it fit nicely. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have seen some more actual screenshots from the early games to go with the concept art. Highly recommended for Zelda fans.(less)

I found that this was one of those books that I just couldn't put down and hope that Lord further explores the world that she has created here.
p.s. I love that the novel was based on exploring the myriad cultural groups of one world, rather than the seemingly commonplace trope that everyone on a planet share a single cultural identity.(less)

While not necessarily an enjoyable book it felt real in a way that many similar works don't, though this is probably what made it less fun in all truth. I'd recommend it to certain people, but anyone should read the part at the beginning first.(less)

Overall it felt very weak and the ending was incredibly abrupt. Also I have to say that Card's homophobia cropped up pretty oddly, with characters randomly proclaiming they weren't gay or really did like to look at breasts.(less)

I had trouble putting myself in the characters' shoes, both due to the difference in time period and age. It should definitely be held as a classic though.(less)
