Loved the sarcastic conversation between Taylor and Jason, it was well constructed and it is something that'll make you smile while reading . But, I must say that there are some parts that was a bit boring (especially the last part). I think it would be better if the author added more conflict. The ending was not something I expected cause i find it too plain.
I think the best part of the story is in the middle part, wherein Taylor and Jason clashes with each other. My favorite scene is when Taylor arrived in Jason's party, and Jason looked at her as if she's the only girl in the world :""> (OH GOD I almost died while reading that part). But sad to say that as the story goes one, the intensity of their romance was fading. :(

Loved the first part till the middle, but as it gets to the ending, the character was just out of their minds! I almost fell head over heels with this one but the ending is a definite turn-off. URGH. :\
Anyway, what I like in this book, is the imperfection of Dobbs (physically) since most of the books I've read, the main character is always skinny, long-legged etc etc. But this is actually the first book I've read wherein the main character is "healthier than usual", and she still gets the handsome guy. yay!

While reading the Blue-Eyed devil, i had a fascination with the character of Jack. Without knowing that there's a 3rd book for the Travies series, i wondered what it would be like if the story evolves around Jack, and hoala! there goes Smooth talking Stranger. i was so excited reading this and swear to God i had goose bumps all over me until i finished the last page. Another great work by Lisa Kleypas. one of my favorite i must say(less)

This book is absofuckinglutely amazing! It is the kind of book that would make you wish that it won't end. The scene with the broken heel was just HILARIOUS. I was certain that i read it like twice cause I just cant get over it. Practice Makes Perfect has a lot of similarities with Just the Sexiest Man Alive (minus the hot-looking-almost-perfect actor). But, unlike 'Just the Sexiest Man alive', the romance in Practice makes perfect is more consistent. I can't remember any dull moment from the first till last page. Also, this actually allowed the readers to take a sneak peek with the lives of lawyers (on which, in my case, i'm not familiar with). One thing's for sure--- this is not the last Julie James book i'm going to read.
And, now, I'm starting to have a different view with lawyers. In a good way though. :)(less)

I've added this to my to-reads a couple of months ago but I can't seem to find the time to read it. This, by the way, is my first Rachel Gibson, I've seen a lot of her works here in goodreads and read a lot of good reviews about it too. I'm not new to sports romances though, I do love sports, and the main character of sports romances that I've read are usually football players. I'm definitely new to the world of hockey and it's nice to have a glimpse in this kind of sport.
Luc and Jane are from different worlds. Jane has a characteristic of a normal girl, being five feet tall and flat chested while Luc, the goalie with Canadian accent, seems to be so perfect. There were parts that bored me to death and makes me wanna stop, but as the story goes on, it got better and better :)
And now, I want to share the part that actually both made me smile and broke my heart into pieces.
“I think about you, Jane.” He walked toward her until mere inches separated them. “A lot.” She’d believed him when he’d told her the same thing a few weeks ago. Not this time. “I’ve heard it from you before, and it’s not true,” she said, but there was a traitorous piece of her heart that wanted to believe him—bad. She took a step back and her calves hit the edge of the bed.
“Oh, it’s true. Awake or asleep, I can’t get you out of my head.” He grasped her shoulders and pushed her down on the bed. “You’re a complication I don’t need.” He followed, placed his hands on each side of her head, and planted his knee between her thighs. “But you’re a complication I want. One I’m going to have.”
She put her hands on his chest to stop him. Through the cotton of his shirt, he threw off heat like a furnace and warmed her palms. “I don’t think you know what you want.” “Yes. I do. I want you, and being with you feels a hell of a lot better than being without you. I’m not going to fight it anymore.” He kissed her between her brows. “I’m not going to fight what I feel for you.
It’s a losing battle, and I just end up pissed off.” His words defused her anger somewhat, but fear still weighed heavy in her heart. “What do you feel?” she asked, even though she wasn’t completely certain she wanted to know.
He brushed his lips across her forehead. “I feel like you’ve hit me between the eyes with the butt end of a stick.”
He hadn’t said he was falling in love with her, but getting hit in the head with a stick was pretty good. Instead of pushing him away, she ran her hands over his chest. “Is that a good thing?” “It doesn’t feel like a good thing. You’ve put my life in chaos.”(less)

After reading The Sweetest Thing, I've decided to give this one another shot. So, I started reading it again, and boy, I'm glad that I did.
But the disadvantage of reading the 2nd book first, is that I already knew about the fire with the inn and about the past between Tara & Ford (so yes, a little part of me regret reading it not based on its sequence).
There were definitely some parts where I was laughing my hearts out. Like, the shrimp scene where Maddie ends up kissing the mayor even though she did not have any tickets (thanks to Sawyer, Ford and Chloe:D), and who could have forget the scene where Ford and Maddie first met?. And also the part where they're at the bar:
“Are you flirting with me?” “No. The porn thing was a dealbreaker.” That made him laugh, and even better, so did she, and something flickered between them. Chemistry
I also can keep myself from laughing so hard when Maddie can't think of any movie star she wanted to portray. :))
Maddie swallowed hard and tried to channel… which actress? Damn, she couldn’t think of an actress to save her life! She was on her own.
Oh god, just remembering it makes me laugh all over again. :))
What I also like about this is Phoebe's recipe for life, ( in which I might need someday). As for Jax---the mayor, the lawyer, the contractor, the one who has it all, who woudn't fall in love with him?
Chloe's character also helped in making this one a success. She's fuuny, sarcastic and she definitely love her sisters even though she doesn't say it. I can't wait to read the 3rd book Head Over Heels. I wonder what Sawyer & Chloe's story gonna be like?(less)

At first, I was kind of excited to read this because of the plot--- neighbors who fall in love with each other (I can definitely relate to that!:D).
Some of the reason why me no likey with this is because couple of scenes were almost the same with the previous book, and there was really no spark between the two characters (Lola and Cricket). Furthermore, the continuation of St.Claire and Anna's story was a little off. They're inseparable! they're like glued with each other and I think that's a little bit over the top.
But, what I like with this is the cover, there's something with the cover that makes me wanna read this (i think its the cute guy hihi). I also like the way she describes how Lola dress, I think its unique and interesting.
overall, L&TBND is entertaining, it's not as good as the first one though but it still worth reading. I'm giving this one 3 stars. (less)

She's fun, full of surprises and the one whose known as The Wild One and of course, our sheriff, Sawywer. Well, I haven't seen much of Sawyer's character from book 1 and book 2, that's why I'm really looking forward with this one.
Chloe's condition (cause she has an asthma) added to the excitement with the story, because Sawyer became really considerate with her condition. He even bought a nebulizer!
She drew in a breath. “So I have this thing I do before sex. A test. An ‘Is He Inhaler Worthy?’ test.” He just stared at her. “There’s a test. Before sex.” “Yes. And I should tell you, not many pass.”
“Chloe?” “Yeah?” “I’d be worth the inhaler,” he said, then forced himself to walk away into the night
And of course, her Magic Eigh app (which we could consider the greatest psychic of 2011 having 100% accuracy) had a huge part in every life changing moments they had.
But I'm just giving this 4 stars, cause I think Simply Irresistible and The Sweetest Thing were a little much better (with Tara and Ford's story being my favorite), and what shocked me big time is that there's a 4th book! Lucky in Love ---I would definitely add this to my to-reads. ;)(less)

There's something about the cover that gave me the impression that it'll be worth reading and add also the fact that it got great reviews from the people I follow. So last night, I grab a copy and started reading it. And call me batshit crazy but I will definitely consider this one of my favorites.
By the way, this is my first Shannon Stacey book, and it took me couple of hours to finish it. I can't help it, it is too goood to be left hanging around. (less)

But this one was surprisingly good. Geez,I don't even know how to start.
Okay so.. here it goes. What I love about this was how the two main characters have opposite personality and yet you could still feel the chemistry between them. Sam, being the serious type, who thinks confrontations are the best way in an argument, who type short messages, and doesn't do smiley or any kind of emoticons. Poppy, being the super nice girl, who always makes herself the 2nd priority, who type dozens of kisses and hugs every text messages and whose about to marry the guy she thinks she's in love with.
Some scenes were too hilarious that left me laughing so hard. It started when Poppy was singing to the tune of Single Ladies. HAHA! I must say that there were a lot of embarassing moments for Poppy, which kinnda reminds me of Becky Bloomwood cause she also had a lot of these moments in Confessions of a shopaholic (again, the movie, not the book).
Also, in this book, romance throught text messaging was made possible. Overall I did enjoy it. It was really a nice read and it left me with a big smile on my face :)
PS. I could really see this one turn into a chick flick. xxxxxxxx(less)
