That doesn't necessarily mean the book was great, it just got so bizarre and unbelievable, I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened. In the beginning, it was really freaky and I thought it had good potential to be a decent paranormal book, but there wasn't a whole lot of "paranormal" activity really happening. Apparently there are more books after this. Not sure if I'll read them. ...more

It wasn't long at all though, but it was a beautiful little book. About a leaf named Freddie who has friends on a tree and they are all leaves too. They learn about the seasons changing and how even though they are all on the same tree, they are different. They are positioned differently, catch shadows different, receive light differently, change different colors in the fall, etc. Freddie is afraid of what happens in the Winter when it gets cold and they all fall off the tree. His wise leaf friend Daniel tells him he is not afraid at all, and one day Daniel gently floats to the ground when the snow comes. Freddie overcomes his fear of death and realizes even when he falls to the ground the water will come and eventually he will wind up being nutrients to the tree. A beautiful little story about the circle of life. ...more
**spoiler alert** This book was a trainwreck. So awful.
I know I am the first one to leave a written review on this book. First off, I am apart of this**spoiler alert** This book was a trainwreck. So awful.
I know I am the first one to leave a written review on this book. First off, I am apart of this group on Facebook called "Amazon Books" or something like that. A lot of first time authors will post links to their books in hopes of getting people to read them. I just so happen to see the post in the group promoting this book yesterday. The title caught my eye and the description looked interesting, so I thought it'd be a funny read. I was wrong. I got it for free using "Kindle Unlimited" and let me tell you, I am so glad I didn't spend actual money on this!
My face kind of had a "what the HELL am I reading?!" look the whole time. It only took me about an hour to read, I am glad I didn't waste anymore time on it honestly.
In a nutshell the story is about this guy named Keith who is a good looking guy (who likes to describe his six pack, expensive clothes, shoes, and jewelry very often) who walks into a Walmart to get some cereal. There, he runs into two fine black girls who could pass as sisters. One is Keisha, the mother, and the other is Veisha, the daughter (oh and there's an Elisha too, try to keep all of those Eisha's straight, it's not easy). Keith flirts with them asking which cereal he should buy. Later on Veisha sees him in the electronics department of the store and she gets his number. By the way, Veisha is 18 and this guy is 37.
So Keith is thinking about banging this young girl that he barely knows and one night he goes out and meets this white girl named Jessica who he immediately wants to bang too. Basically the whole book is about him banging both of these girls. Even more awful than that, he is telling this girl Jessica he loves her by the second date. It was like reading a bad high school scene. Also, had I known the sex scenes were going to be so gross, I would've passed on the book. There's a way to make sex scenes in a book tasteful and sexy and then there is how this author described them: I came on her face and she drank it up like a milkshake" or "I put my rocket in her garage" I mean..I got embarrassed just reading it. What awful analogies for sex. FYI, they weren't "hot" at all. Just awkward as hell!
I stuck with the book only because I wanted to see if the two girls ever got around to finding out about one another. Of course, they did...but the plot fell flat. Nothing all that interesting happened. White girl Jessica goes to Keith's house one night unannounced (even though Keith told her not to)and looks in a window and sees Keith banging the 18 year old. She cries and starts banging on the window. Veisha lets Keith handle it and asks very little questions about this girl. And when she asks Keith if he was having sex with her at the same time, he said it was before he and Veisha got together, which was a lie. He was back to back having sex with the both of them. So, the main character isn't even likeable because he's a total dirtbag and a two-timer. But they reference his 9+ inch penis all the time, and everyone in the book is so in awe over it. *eyeroll*
So then I think the author tried to thicken the plot by having this girl Jessica have a "revenge plot" in mind to get back at Keith and Veisha, but it falls flat. No action, no climax, the characters were weak, it was just bad. The writing was choppy and I had to re-read some parts more than once to find out who was talking. The idea of this book would've been better in a more seasoned writers hands.
Not to mention that there were a lot of spelling errors like using the word "to" instead of "too".
Here is a description of each character, which will also help emphasize my point on how bizarre and not fully thought out this book was.
Mr. Evans- President of a company that Keith works for. He is a fat old black guy who can't get an erection. When his daughter takes a dick pick of Keith one night while they are freaking, Mr. Evan's wife finds it on her phone when she leaves it at home, and shows her husband. Mr. Evans wishes HE had a penis like that and basically has a man crush on Keith's dick the entire book. Out of all the characters though, Mr. Evans was my favorite only because he was the only character who seemed to be even slightly amusing and funny.
Mrs. Evans- Wife of Mr. Evans. She's a beautiful woman who is thinking about cheating on her husband because he can't get it up. So she's a cheater and an unfaithful hoe, basically. One night while drinking with her friend Martha at a local night spot, she sees Keith and can't place where she met him (Walmart) but immediately gets turned on by him and considers sleeping with him until white girl Jessica shows up. At this time, Mrs. Evans doesn't know her daughter is screwing Keith.
Elisha- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evans and sister of Veisha. She's basically irrelevant and we don't learn much about her.
Veisha- 18 year old who is apparently very experienced. Breaks up with her high school boyfriend because he ain't "hitting that right" and she likes to talk to her friends about liking good dick. She's very crude but apparently is hot as hell. She likes to hangout at this teen night spot called "Gold Rush" (which makes it really awkward for her to be with Keith when he's 37 and she's still a child, basically). She also likes to use daddy's credit card and on hers and Keith's first date she used her dad's credit card to pay for dinner without her dad knowing. Typical spoiled brat, basically. She also tells Keith she loves him after the first time they sleep together and she's so anxious to get dicked down by him. She blows up his phone like an insecure loser and somehow Keith is okay with it and says she is good wife material. What the flipping f**k? Her parents also apparently don't care when she dips into their liquor cabinet even though she's only 18.
Monica- Veisha's friend and "ride or die". She is also pretty irrelevant.
Keith- 37 year old who thinks he's hot shit. Has a nice house, nice clothes, makes good money, and loves "laying women down". He's also a player.
Jessica- white girl who Keith meets at a bar, they hit it off. She immediately falls in love with him and wants to move in. She goes to church, but she's also a drug addict. Likes to snort cocaine with her friend Brittany.
Brittany- random friend of Jessica who wound up having a 3 way with Jessica and Keith one night randomly. She likes to cook and clean up at Keith's house for no real reason at all. Just generally a strange situation....
Chris & Mark- Keith's friends at work. Don't find much about them either.
Like I said, the characters aren't very deep. The book falls flat. It's not interesting, funny, sexy, or anything really. This may be the author's first book...and my advice would be to have it revised by a professional and to make a lot of changes to the sex scenes, character development, and general plot. It's choppy and not a good read. Sorry. ...more
