I'll just start typing and telling you about the story and see where that takes me…
We will start with Mercy; she is a 16 year old high school student who is half a succubus. She discovered this during her first kiss when she almost killed her now best friend Paul. Mercy is a smart girl and one of the fun things in the story is her use of her SAT words. Every day she has one for the day and it is comical how they end up being used. Now I read some reviews and I know there were some issues with corrections that needed to be made, let me just say that Shannon Dermott (the author) gave me the edition of the book and I had no grammar and spelling problems with this edition.
All right now I am going to tackle what I didn’t like so we can just get it out of the way and get back to the good stuff because there was plenty of it, it will be like ripping off a Band-Aid.
I do like a good Love tri-angle but this one is more like a hexagon, I don’t know at what point it got a wee bit ridiculous for me but I do know it got there. Half-way through and maybe even three-quarters through I began getting antsy and irritated with the Mercy’s man fan club. I do realize she is a succubus so yeah … hello boys! But it still seemed a bit much. I tell you this now not because I think it should be different but because if you read this book I don’t want you so get frustrated and give up. I promise the payoff for finishing it will be worth it! In fact I dare to say I think all of that is forgiven.
The other thing that I didn’t like was how much Mercy misses clues going on around her, she is not written as a half-wit character so why can’t she see what is going on around her when it is so obvious that she needs more information form the people around her. It’s like watching a horror film and you just want to scream at the girl running around in her nightgown for doing the most idiotic things.
There were a couple of few minor issues I had with it but I am not going to pick at it.
Ok now back to the good stuff… Let talk about boys now ;-)
Let’s introduce you to the “Mercy’s man fan club”
First we have Paul, first kiss (almost killed him) now he is one of her best friends, kissing thing didn’t work out too well, but of course he secretly pines for Mercy. Paul is our geek chic.
Next let’s go to the boy next door Luke. Luke is the boyfriend, son of a preacher, football star, and all around nice guy.
We have a couple others in the fan club that get little attention and minor flirting along the way but I am just staying with the main men. How about Sebastian now? He is our super bad boy, no moral compass to speak of and is a dangerous beauty combined with a devil may care smile and we have what all girls with Daddy issues would call the perfect man ;-)
I saved my favorite for last! Flynn our resident misunderstood bad boy, yummy!
Oh and it is very appropriate that I imagine Leto as Flynn since Mercy is a big 30 seconds to Mars fan!
So overall I was VERY happy with this book, like I said most of what I had problems with in the end made sense to me. But let me tell you one more thing, at the end of the book my face was like this for a few hours….
I was left with a lot of questions at the end of the book and you could have probably could have convinced me that my nook was missing a few chapters of the book I still feel a bit like this about it…
But all that means in the author did her job; she wrapped it up in a nice package but left you desperately wanting more! I will absolutely read the next one and highly recommend this one.

A chance meeting andFirst we have Camille who is a Seattle college student in Paris escaping for her birthday to a long awaited dream to visit Paris. A chance meeting and cue sexy Gavin, however Camille is in no shape to be starting a relationship and this meeting is a brief intriguing encounter. Camille has an abusive boyfriend back in Seattle…
Next chapter we skip ahead 2 years to Camille working in a small Louisiana town and attending school. After returning home from Paris she finally got wise and ditched the scum. Now here is the aspect about the book that I didn’t care for at all… we find Camille again in an abusive relationship. I have seen with emotional, verbal, and physical abuse most of my life, knowing and loving a victim of this type of abuse I know firsthand the emotional fall out. I love that the author is bringing this up as I know lots of teenagers struggle with body image and self-confidence however this is a very tricky topic to write about in a young adult/adult romance novel. I think the character or her best friend needs to have a bit more knowledge on how to deal with a victim. In NO WAY am I saying the author condones or glorifies the subject, in any case I didn’t feel it captures enough outrage that this is going on… make sense? I hope so…
Then we are taken on a Journey of discovery with Camille as she breaks up with scum #2 and a whirlwind romance with the supernaturally sexy Gavin. Camille has to navigate through the discovery that vampires exist and that some are closer than she realized.
Now here is the other issue I have with the book, I didn’t connect with the characters or understand some of their actions. I didn’t get emotionally involved with the characters, but this could be quickly solved with an edit. Also this is the first in the series so I am extremely interested in what book 2 will bring in April. With all that being said I would still recommend this series, the world is unique and vampires are a bit different, not allot but enough.
I would recommend mothers read this with their older daughters; it is wildly entertaining and a chance to talk about a deeper topic. Rating - 3.5 Stars
P.S. I found this AMAZING looking model named Arthur Keller and I just couldn’t stop finding amazing pictures of him. The even better thing about sexy Gavin was he has a couple looks the casual look and the dressed to kill look, soooooo I have to show you both! Plus I happen to have found both looks! Enjoy…

To me it had a very Edward and Bella feel to it. The start of their romance seemed to have to same characteristics with Tristan being so hot and cold and Kalista falling so hard and fast. I found that I still had allot of questions when it ended like exactly what is the Ylem? Maybe we are not supposed to know yet (obviously) but still I would like to know since it is the title of the book I just read.
It was an interesting story but I really don't want to get into the plot to much because I think maybe it would spoil the way the books reads and what it discovered when.
Instead here it the description from goodreads...
An ancient book, a seventeen-year-old girl and an exotic boy from a supernatural world hold the key to freedom for a long-oppressed race, but that freedom could come at the cost of the human world.
Seventeen-year-old Kalista is suffering from a broken heart, so when her playwright father proposes they move their lives from New York to New Mexico because he is in need of inspiration Kalista is 100% on-board with him. New Mexico proves to be the perfect balm for her wounds and she is just starting to feel some of her old spunk when Tristan Winfield comes into her life and pulls all of her barriers down. Kalista is captivated by Tristan's unusual silver eyes and feels an inexplicable connection to him, which begins to manifest itself in her dreams with bizarre images of a waterfall and an orb.
While searching for an explanation for her troubling dreams, Kalista discovers an ancient book which holds the secrets of a supernatural race of creatures. But when Killings hit town, she realizes her finding has come at a high price. She's in the middle of a power struggle now, and a secret seems to be wrapped within the pages of that book. A secret she and Tristan are part of...
So I would say this is a good read, and would be appropriate for a younger teen as well as entertaining for the older YA readers as well. It is definitely worth it to check it out and is an inexpensive ebook!
Thanks to Read 2 review in Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! group and the the author for sharing her work with me. ...more
Let first say that Masquerade was dipped in awesomesauce with a side of superb! This book was beautifully written. I loved the different points of view throughout the book and the characters were lovable and fierce at the same time which is my favorite combination.
We have Heven, who you get to know in Before as a popular girl who has it all. She is about to be named captain of the cheer team, has the gorgeous best friend/ wing woman, and is about to start dating Brice the majorly hot football player. Sounds like a great fantasy right?
It's shattered because soon after that there is an accident and Heven is left disfigured with scars on half her face. Now in Masquerade we find Heven hiding from the world. Gone is the confident carefree cheerleader, what is left is a girl trying to survive.
I love Heven because we journey with her through her self discovery of self-worth. I don't want to go on and list all the things about Heven that I love because I think you will discover them for yourselves and I don't want to spoil anything. Let's just say she is a kick-butt teenage heroine that mom's all over the world can be assured that their daughters have found a stunning positive role model.
Next we have Sam... I really can't say too much about Sam without spoiling some things except that he is such a sweetheart! Let me see what I can tell you about Sam... there is not really a stereo type I can give you because he is a little bit of everything all rolled up into one nice package. Sam spots Heven one day and it changes his world. He is disparately in love with her and just wants to watch her and keep her safe. But Sam also has a dark secret...
Staring in my fantasy's this week was Garrett Hedlund as Sam. With his flashing hazel/gold eyes, strong body, and good looks we have one yummy character.
This was an absolute MUST read! Ms. Hebert is an author to keep you eye on because I have a feeling this is just the start of a parade of amazing books we are going to see from her. I am a fan and I will be reading anything she puts out now!
Thank you to Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy Fanatics! the BEST group on goodreads! And to the lovely and talented Ms. Cambria Hebert wicked cool book girl!
I would change absolutely NOTHING about this book.

First we have 17 year old Dariana who is a hybrid Wild/Cool we meet her at her twin brothers funeral, she is a shell of a girl who is living without her soul. Then we have Lewis who is a Hotblood. I wont even start to try to explain the races here, while it is a bit confusing to begin with because the author just jumps into the story like we already know this world it did not take me that long to catch up. My only constructive opinion on that part would be that the author needs a prologue to better explain the "Houses" and different species even some kind of chart to kind of explain the races and attributes. Alright so now we have Lewis who is instantly drawn to this strange girl who has lived well past what she should have without having a soul. He follows her one evening and ends up stealing a kiss that leaves him changed. The other thing I would suggest is a more clear cut way to decipher whose perspective we are seeing. It switches up a little and it sometimes took me a few paragraphs to distinguish. We follow Dariana in her journey in getting her life back, finding out what happened to her, and possibly finding her soul mate. Her family is quirky and highly entertaining.
Hotblood is a unique world that I enjoyed thoroughly. Ms Whicker has an incredible imagination and I can't wait to find out more about the House of slide. I would have loved to see more of her Uncles Satan and Grim were truly some great characters.
I loved the cover for this one, it really caught my eye! I am guessing that is Uncle Satan on the cover.

On my review of Enchantment I said it was a sweet love story... if that's true Taken it's slight darker counterpart. While I really enjoyed Enchantment I lovedTaken. I had not expected to like Enchantment so much when I picked it up but it pleasantly surprised me. Taken pulled me out of my chair into a gripping adventure, it was absolutely more my style. I still feel like you can safely let your teens read this series and enjoy it with them. It still has the same charm and wittiness of book 1 but as the saga progresses we gets pulled deeper into Channie and Josh's magical word and the endearing love story.
Charlotte Abel has proven that she can stand the heat and keep producing magical adventures for her fans to get lost in and I plan to have a front row seat!
This is just the Blurb I wrote after reading the ARC, I will finish it and still do one of my full reviews soon! But it just released so I wanted to get something up!
READ it!!!!! It's another steal at .99 cents just like Enchantment, highway robbery!

I mean wow what a cast of hunky men! I really enjoy books based on the fae and this one did not disappoint. Rayla was a likable heroine and I loved the twists and turns her love life takes. I do enjoy a good love triangle or square but sometimes they can be over done and annoying. But I really enjoyed this one and it kind of sneaks up on you. I am really looking forward to the next one.
Ms Rich's debut novel is a winner and I am a fan!
Now the pics!
Ok let's get Rayla out of the way...
Now let's go for Mr. Tall dark and extremely sexy Zach, I am a total sucker for the black hair blue eyes...
The extremely dark Jett...I couldn't decide between these two so you get both because one can never have to many pictures of half naked guys ;-)
Taylor the hot latin lover...
Finn... the fabulous Celtic dream, let's face it there is NEVER anything wrong with a man in a kilt!
And lastly but certainly not least is Luke the blond god! Now I know what you are thinking "That's Nic's favorite cause there are so many" but it's simply not true. For me the jury is still out on Luke BUT I just always get carried away pulling pics of Alex Pettyfer.... how can you not?

In Altered you get a Louisiana Bayou adventure. Jenna Larson is an 18 year old on summer vacation before her senior year in a small town in the mysterious humid Bayou in the deep south. Visiting her “Pops” for the entire summer is just what she had in mind and a trip she makes every summer, a nice lazy summer soaking up the suns glorious rays…
While sunning herself she thinks she hears her voice being called into the words, so she does what any sane girl her age would do… follows it into the woods silly! Ok I know you wouldn’t do that and neither would I. However Jenna is the curios sort and this is her story so we let her. She finds a dilapidated cabin and incidentally finds a cursed book (hence why I would have never had went in the woods).
I digress! Anywho… she starts having odd dreams that night and weird things happening with said cursed book… To be fair there is a rose on the cover as well but you try finding that picture, besides I like the snake, very creepy.
The next day Jenna heads into town to the local hang out with two old friends and while catching up and eating pizza she spots a boy across the restaurant. She catches his eye as well and soon he attempts the cutest opening line. Enter Jess Parkin our very mysterious 19 year old bad boy with bright blue eyes…
Yep you know I am a sucker for the dark hair, blue eyes, bad boy type! I won’t get into too much more because I don’t want to spoil anything but Jess is a mystery to Jenna and is instantly drawn to those baby blues (can’t blame a girl for that). While falling into a forbidden love Jenna has a supernatural mystery and a cursed book on her hands, not to mention some family secrets.
I struggled very much with my rating for this one because I did enjoy the story so much but there were a few issues I had with the book. Mainly the ending, don’t worry I won’t spoil it but I will just say that a couple of the events were not believable to me and the ending feels very abrupt.
With all that being said I do recommend it.

This was an action packed read. A nice change is the paranormal genera. Deacon Chase's family was killed by vampires and now his only goal is to kill monsters until one takes him out so that he may join his family. Deacon is not your typical hero, he is a 6'4 320 pound bad boy with a bad attitude... and a good Catholic. He owns a strip club that helps fund his fight and has taken in anyone who has had a run-in with the monsters. Shaved head, goatee, and covered in tattoos her appearance just screams trouble. He has no interest in women and just lives for vengeance. Maybe that might change in later books and as a lover of paranormal romance I really think I can love this series regardless if we cross that bridge. I am looking forward this series and you have a new fan Mr. Tuck!

Valerie Williams is a teenage socialite who seems to have it all. Designer clothes, a cute jock boyfriend, popularity and all the perks that come with it. She receives an allowance and is never short on funds to get the most expensive and current fashion forward clothes. While planning to buy her prom dress her mother drops a bomb on her life... no more allowance... she has to get a job. So she does what every teenager would do in her position... has a complete hissy fit! Does not help her though, the next day she is forced to go to work with her mom.
She has no idea her mom is a tooth fairy and she is going to love her job. We follow Valerie on her journey through her new job and while she discovers just how shallow she has been. While I was frustrated with her mistakes I cheered her on to make better decisions and deal with her problems.
Recommended for older teens and adults, this would be a great book to read with the teen in your life and give you opportunities to talk about the issues Valerie goes through and how she handles them. Rating - 4 Stars...more

Deity is The Book of 2012, thus far, and I do not say this lightly! I am a huge Armentrout fan and I started with the Lux series because at the time my friend Kay said start with that one and Kay has impeccable taste so I did. I have allot of love and time invested in that series and would have said I liked it just a little bit more than the covenant series... But... Holy Daimon babies was Deity the freaking bomb or what?!?!?!?
I have been dying to share the awesome-ness that is Deity with the world since I got it.... er.... well, whenever that was that those wonderfully amazing people at Spencer hill Press sent it to me and I did my happy dance and all out fan girl freak out....
So yeah I read it and was quiet literally my mind was like this for days...
I could not even process and wrap my mind around how awesome the book was. And only now after spending months with it can I even make an attempt of talking about it.
In Deity we re-join Alex, Aiden, and Seth... oh and all those other people. We are re-united with our long lost friends and join the wait for Alex's 18th birthday.
All through this series I really couldn't decide who I wanted Alex to be with ... I mean Aiden and Seth (to me) were equally appealing. But in this one I became all about Aiden. He is just so .... yummy.
Really what's not to love?
Don't get me wrong I will always have hope for one of my favorite bad boys, Seth. If he decides to man up and take it I will always hold out with a little piece of my heart for him.
Seriously though girls, this book was the bomb digity ... all that and a bag of chips! Pre-Order your copy now. Maybe camp out at your local book store for it's release because I lie to you not it is epic.
I know I am not telling you much about this book, but believe me I have my reasons for secrecy! You DO NOT want it spoiled for you, I don't even want to try to tip toe around the plot and risk it.... yeah, it's that good.
Of coarse Deity gets the Super smooch from me
Love You Jennifer Armentrout! Thank you for this amazing series and all the fun times I have with your characters. They really are truly unique and I love them all! Also thank you to those amazing people at Spencer Hill Press you guys rock!

This was just ok for me. Story is original and has allot of potential. However it needs to be longer. We need more back ground and more character development. If feels rushed. It is a very short 75 page read but it left me feeling unsatisfied.
I think if the author took a bit more time and developed this story a bit more and didn't end it so abruptly it would be a great read.
With that being said it was a nice way to spend an hour. If you are looking for a short read and the synopsis sounds intriguing try it on. ...more

This is the first book I have read from from Croix and what a treat it was. No hold Barred was an erotic delight with plenty of emotion and just enough story to make you love the characters. It was not your typical menage read with a bunch of characters willing to jump in bed and act like emotions and jealously would not affect the dynamic between the three (not that I don't love those as well). But it is a fresh take and more realistic to what might actually transpire between a couple deeply committed to each other and their best friend. I also loved Croix's military alpha male characters, not domineering but sexually dominate, it all adds up to a sexy encounter.
First off I have to say ignore the cover. I don't think it fits the story. Ok now onto the good stuff...I really enjoyed thisMy Review Short and Sweet
