This book will definitely satisfy Paranormal Romance readI was honored to receive Felicity Heaton's ARC for Love Immortal and I was NOT disappointed. This book will definitely satisfy Paranormal Romance readers as well as Urban Fantasy fans. It was jammed packed with action, suspense, intrigue and romance that kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next.
Love Immortal introduces the reader to Lauren, an average woman on the verge of her 35th birthday questioning who she is and what she wants in life. She wants to have more in her life but doesn't realize that she will get much more then she ever imagined when one night after leaving her Kendo class she is attacked by a werewolf and is saved by a mysterious yet alluring man who she should be afraid of, but instead feels herself drawn to for some reason.
There is a reason why she is drawn to her handsome rescuer for he is her 3000 year old Arcadian commander who has swore to serve and protect Lauren who is in fact the reincarnation of a demi-goddess. Julian is everything you want in a protector. He is loyal, strong, protective, gorgeous, but at the same time the author paints the torment that he has gone through for the woman he loved.
You cannot help but fall in love with these two leading characters as their feelings and emotions are so well described that you feel yourself drawn into the story and become a part of it.
Felicity Heaton does a marvelous job of integrating interesting mythologies surrounding immortals, vampires, and werewolves that fans of these genres will enjoy the battle and conflicts surrounding these paranormal creatures.
The romantic and sexual tension that develops between Julian and Lauren reaches a fever pitch at times that you want to scream at either one of them to acknowledge their feelings and to act on them. This is kudos to the writer for creating scenes that enthralls the reader and characters that you develop a strong emotional connection with.
You also develop a connection with the secondary characters: Piper, Kuga, Leo, Astra, Duke and even Morgan as you discover more about their powers and their personalities. Felicity did a marvelous job of incorporating secondary characters alongside the lead characters without ignoring them or overshadowing them. I have read books where the author throws in a scene that focuses on the secondary characters and the lead characters are no where to be seen and makes the storyline seem disjointed. With Love Immortal you do not see that happening as one scene flows smoothly to the next.
I highly recommend this book for it is filled with intense action, intriguing mythology, hot romance featuring an irresistible immortal who would die for his love, characters that you develop an emotional connection with and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages and not wanting to put the book down.
My only compliant is that there was only ONE sex scene but it was very sensual and hot. I could easily see this book turned into a series as there is so much more that can occur between the lead and secondary characters. If the author does decide to turn this into a series may I suggest that she include more sex scenes as it all the ingredient are there for some hot, passionate moments to savour.
5 Stars to a wonderful book and characters. Now can we have some more Julian please! :)...more
I was intrigued to read this book as I am a big fan of paranormal erotica involving vampires however afReviewed by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
I was intrigued to read this book as I am a big fan of paranormal erotica involving vampires however after I started reading this book I found myself having a difficult time getting sucked into the story. The storyline was quite confusing with the myriad of clans involved in vampire politics that it made it very difficult to follow who was who and what were the unique abilities of each clans. Concepts and ideas were thrown out but never really fully developed or explained to make one fully understand the dynamics occurring among the vampires. This is perhaps the part where the story lost me as it focused so much on the politics, the romantic concepts seemed to come as secondary features and even then, it was superficial. I was not able to develop any emotional connection with any of the leads because it was lacking emotional development in their conflicts and feelings. There were points where there was a lack of fluidity from one scene to the next which made you wonder what was the point of the scene in the first place. The romance between the Mika and Hail really didn't feel romantic at all. Instead it felt as if two people who craved lust got together a few times but never really shared their true feelings for each other. It just felt flat and could have been fleshed out more thoroughly.
There were many scenes that I felt were very difficult to read, not only because of what was happening in them, but also due to the lack of emotional connection between the participates. I did not enjoy reading the F/F/F threesomes, the rough anal sex, nor did I enjoy reading the multiple rape scene involving Mika at the hands of her enemies. The book also includes BDSM, oral both men and women and the use of an instrument during a sexual situation, so it is definitely not for the faint hearted. I personally had to force myself to finish reading this book. I really wanted to like this book unfortunately I could not enjoy it. I just wished the author fleshed out the emotional component in the characters.
First of all I want to start off by saying this is a very enjoyable, fun, short novella that will put a smile on your face. If you want a quick, light-hearted read with burning passion simmering underneath two characters who realize there is something more going on between them then they wish to admit, then this is the story for you. Right from the beginning you are introduced to Jason who plays the tough loner who keeps a barrier up between himself and others and Carri whose sweet, bubbly personality rubs him the wrong way, or does it? Both characters put up a facade as a way to deal with what sometimes troubles their heart and as they are forced to work side by side the walls start to crumble. Both Carri and Jason are likable characters that you feel for and you can't help yourself not cheering for them. The playful back-and-forth sexual tension was sweet but don't let that fool you. Once the two realize they can't ignore the pull for each other the passion that is unleashed is intense and the sex is hot. A nice read that any paranormal romance reader will enjoy in this second book in the Terra’s Guardians series dealing with shape-shifters. ...more
Blood Red is the first book in the Chronicles of the Cursed series by Aline de Chevigny that follows a powerful vampire Mikael De Wohlf and his personal assistant Annabella who tries to avoid his advances despite her attraction. This was a fun, short read revolving a vampire who can have any woman he desires because of his good looks, charm and power and a woman who despises his past and his tactics as being ruthless with his enemies. Yet Mikael is drawn to her and finds that his heart becomes alive whenever she is around and wishes to make her his. Annabella on the other hand has been fighting off the feelings that he invokes in her for quite some time but feels that he cannot give her what she truly desires. Over time she now finds her defenses slowing breaking down as Mikael is determined to show her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams.
It was enjoyable to see the building sexual tension develop in the story that results in them unleashing their passion upon each other. There is an interesting twist regarding vampire mythology that the author introduces near the end of the story that is intriguing and I will leave for you the reader to discover.
Set in Ireland we meet the extremely good-looking and charming Reynardine who lives a solitary life due to his curse of being a werewolf. Not that he has any problems finding bed partners, in fact in the openly scene we find him waking up from a one-night stand, but he is frustrated by his inability to develop a long-term relationship with anyone.
That is until he meets Agnis who comes to his hamlet to work on her doctoral thesis regarding the re-introduction of wolves to Ireland. Upon setting eyes on Agnis, Reynardine finds himself drawn to her the moment she enters the pub upon her arrival in town. What starts off as a "knight in shining armor" rescue of Agnis from a drunk turns to instant heat for each other.
From the beginning of the book to around the midpoint I was able to accept their instant attraction to each other, but even during that point some things just didn't feel right to me. One of the problems I had with the book was with Agnis and how she acts, thinks and feels. One moment hot and obsessed with Reynardine and then the next stating the opposite that her work comes first and she needs to focus on her thesis. It became hard to understand what she wanted when she seems to act like a nymphomaniac at one point and then pull away from Reynardine to focus on her job. The other aspect is that she keeps saying this is a one-night stand (even though it drags out over several weeks), yet in the next breath she wishes that she could have Reynardine forever. She constantly goes back and forth stating that she knows Reynardine is hers and accepts her for who she is, but at the same time she is afraid he will reject her.
Then from the middle to the end of the book that is where it really fell apart for me. At this point the storyline with the wolves took center stage to the point it dragged out so long I found myself falling asleep. The whole issue with the wolves was not intriguing at all. Some references to Agnis' background and why this whole project was so important to her was never established. Along with the fact that once revelations are made near the end of the book she once again reacts one way and in the very next breath says and does the complete opposite. I was completely confused as how the character could do such an about face without any further elaboration. Reynardine on the other hand, he knew what he felt for Agnis was real and wanted to make her part of his life. However due to his condition he knew the implications and what he would be exposing Agnis to. You couldn't help not wanting Reynardine to have a "happily ever after".
In the end this book was ok if all you wanted to focus on was the graphic sex scenes, which included some masturbation using an instrument, some anal play and lots of hot sex, but in terms of plot and fluidity of the storyline it fell flat.
When I first received this book I was very intrigued to read it because I have never come across a novel that has dealt with hybrids before. The whole concept is unique and refreshing to the paranormal romance/erotica genre and I couldn't wait to read it. Suffice to say there were aspects about the plot I really enjoyed. I could see the series continuing on and leading in many different possible directions with the interesting characters and their very unique abilities. However, as I continued to read the novel, I reached a point in the story where I felt the author may have missed the opportunity to delve deeper into the plot and expand on the development of the characters.
The premise of the story surrounds the existence of a secret laboratory that has been around for decades conducting experiments in the creation of hybrid humanoids who have been tortured, killed and revived over and over again to test there physical and mental abilities. Avery is a wolf hybrid who looks completely human except he has fangs, super enhanced sight, smell and hearing and can manifest claws at will. Avery along with six others managed to escape from the laboratory and fend for themselves while constantly on the run from begin caught and sent back to the lab. Each hybrid has their own unique abilities along with the capacity to communicate with each other telepathically. One thing that they discovered before their escape is that the scientists want the hybrids to reproduce however their experiments failed until they realized that each hybrid has a "mate" that they can only reproduce with. Avery is intent on finding his mate who he is somehow connected to both on a physical and psychological level (unfortunately this part is not explained in detail which I wish it had been).
Violet is a lonely novelist who hasn't had much luck with men and seems unsatisfied except for being happy to have the companionship of her dog. This comes to an abrupt end when one night Avery appears by her back door just before the "enemy" attacks her. Avery saves her and during the few days they are together Violet learns about Avery being her mate, him being a hybrid and the laboratory. Up to this point I really enjoyed the plot line and mystery, however it is here that the author missed the mark and started focusing on the sex so much so that the plot got left behind. There was so much potential for the story to completely grab hold of the reader and take them one an amazing journey instead of experiencing page after page of gratuitous and meaningless sex. The characterization of Violet in the second half of the book as a complete nymphomaniac who constantly needs to pinch her breasts which immediately sets her on fire and needs to be quenched with more sex starts to makes her appear one-dimensional. Don't get me wrong I love reading sex scenes and erotica but not to the point that it just becomes a marathon of sex, then they wake up and before eating have another marathon of sex (this did happen in the book).
Perhaps what really bothered me the most was the whole "mate" term got completely lost. Avery is an extremely good-looking wolf hybrid, thus with Violet being his "mate" one would think that a strong, emotional, monogamous relationship develops. Instead we end up seeing Avery sharing his "mate" with one of the other hybrids that he views as a brother. The reason for this is because Violet desires a threesome with his gorgeous "brother" and Avery wants to make her happy. I'm sorry, but it is that this point I feel that this throws the whole "mate" concept out the window. What ensues between the three of them is a marathon of sex which consists of masturbation, oral sex, anal sex, M/M oral sex and Avery's "mate", Violet having intercourse with his "brother". In all the books I have read where one is a "mate" to another the "mate" is never shared nor even allowed to be looked upon sexually without the male being demonstrating extreme possessiveness. That is what makes the term "mate" so sensual and desirable in a story.
Despite the flaws I am really interested in reading the next book in the series as it ended with a cliffhanger. They is so much potential in this series based on the plot, concept and characters alone. I really hope to see the author put more development into the storyline and characters then solely focusing on the sex alone. With a strong storyline (which it has if developed more) and characters (reinforcing the "mate" term and not making Violet just a nympho) I can see this series moving into some interesting storyline territory with the love and sex between Avery and Violet organically occurring alongside the story (no threesome if one is your "mate" please).
Hunter's Moon is a wonderful paranormal romance story of two souls that have suffered much heartache and loReview by Ollie for bittenparanormalromance
Hunter's Moon is a wonderful paranormal romance story of two souls that have suffered much heartache and loss in their lives who discover each other. I really enjoyed this book and how Felicity was able to bring the characters to life on the pages and allow the readers to feel their torment, conflicts, fears and passions. The imagery and the descriptive word play are so well developed that you feel you have been transported into the wilderness that the story is set in and feel the leaves under your feet and the cold air on your breath.
Nicolae is a werewolf and Tatyana is a vampire that he saves from hunters who threaten his peaceful existence on the mountain. Nicolae's long seated hatred for vampires and the cruelty that they imposed onto him and his kind plague him as he tends to her. However, for some reason he is drawn to her and tries to suppress the urges that are building up inside him. Tatyana on the other hand, has never experienced first hand any ill will to werewolves as her bloodline does not keep them as slaves. At times Tatyana is hurt by Nicolae's rough attitude and words to her as she feels that she has done no wrong to him. Later on as the two slowly get to know each other better Tatyana understands why Nicolae despises vampires so much.
The sexual tension between the two of them builds to the point that they wonder whether the other feels the same way. Of course they fear to ask each other how they feel to avoid being rejected thus, the tension builds between them until they cannot resist each other any longer.
It got to the point that I felt like screaming at them to give into what they felt in their hearts. Now I like my paranormal romance books to have lots of hot, sexy scenes and this book had great sexual build up, but only one sex scene. I wished that it had more then just the one. It took so long for them to finally give in to their desires that we were only given the one scene. Now some may prefer that and are ok with it, but I like my characters who crave each other and finally give in to have a little bit more action.
I really would love to see a part 2 to this story because I want to know where the relationship is going to take them and what adventures lie ahead for them. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to all the romantics out there....more
Warrior's Rise by LJ DeLeon is an intriguing urban fantasy filled with mystical creatures vying on savingReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
Warrior's Rise by LJ DeLeon is an intriguing urban fantasy filled with mystical creatures vying on saving Earth and the ethereal Otherworld from the evil Dark Lord. The survival of both worlds rests on Deva a half-Fae, half-human who has been chosen by the Goddess to be the ultimate warrior and protector against evil forces. Deva along with her full-blooded Fae soulmate, Padraig and her adopted family consisting of weres, mages and a gargoyle work together to organize and mobilize Earth's defenses against the demons emerging through portals to destroy Earth.
The story is quite interesting as it dwells in detail on the various magical creatures that exist alongside humans who have now revealed themselves in order to help save humans and Earth from the invasion of demons set on domination. What I perhaps enjoyed the most about the book is the growing strength in Deva as she slowly began to accept and grow in her role as the protector of Earth yet still remaining humble and staying true to the Light. The growing love between her and Padraig was beautiful as it showed how they gained strength from each other to overcome their fears and perceived weaknesses through their love and compassion for each other.
There was only one detailed love scenes between Deva and Padraig and I wished we had more because I would have wanted to hear more about how their love grew from attraction and a feeling of connection to unconditional, devoted love. However I can understand why this was not focused. As I read this book I understood that the main theme of this story was not the love between Deva and Padraig but the battle between the forces of good and evil and the sacrifices and anguish that occurs in war.
Readers are engaged to wonder what will happen next as surprise alliances and foretold futures are revealed in this futuristic tale of humans and paranormal creatures fighting side by side to save Earth. If you enjoy urban fantasy novels filled with mythological creatures, plots twist and battles between the forces of good and evil then you will enjoy Warrior's Rise.
Dragon Child is LJ DeLeon's second book in the Warriors For Light series and the action and heat level continues from book 1. I loved book 2 and I feel the author found the right combination of action, intrigue and sex to make this book a real page turner where you can't wait to read the next page. If your haven't read book 1 I highly recommend that you read it first before you read this one otherwise you may feel a little lost with the plotline.
The story revolves around Moira, the Fae princess to the royal court and Major Steve Taylor, a wereleopard who is dedicated in leading the Army of Light and in battle against the evil plaguing Earth. There is so much happening and so may twists and turns occurring that you find yourself wondering what is going to be revealed next. It is difficult to talk about the storyline without spoiling it because this is one that you need to discover. What I can say is there are lots of surprises and the book ends with another cliffhanger that has me anxiously waiting for book 3.
The main premise of the story deals with Moira and Steve, along with the other regulars introduced in book 1, who are continuing their battle to destroy the leader of the evil uprising. In the midst of the war Moira is trying to unravel the mystery surrounding her identity and how it plays an importance in the battle for the Light. This doesn't mean that all the action is on the battlefield. We see action in the bedroom as Steve realizes Moira is his mate and the combustible passion between them makes some very hot and steamy scenes. One of the key parts in the story is can Moira accept this component in her life. With a hunk like Steve it is hard to believe that she needs to think about it.
I really enjoyed both characters and felt a connection to them especially to Steve. His love, passion devotion and loyalty makes him such a lovable character that at times I actually got upset with Moira and her inability to commit to him and to give in to such a prize like him.
This is one book you need to pick up as will be glued to the pages for it has everything to seduce readers: love, passion, action, heartache and a hunky guy who you would love be called his mate....more
When I read the synopsis that this book is about vampires playing in a rock band wearing black leather pants and speaking with a British accent I was excited to read it. I couldn't wait to read all the enticing details that this image conjured up in my mind. Though I enjoyed the premise of the book and the whole rock and roll thing I felt at times something was missing.
I loved how the author described some of the vampires and mortal males in the story as drop-dead sexy who could make you melt with their eyes. However I did have problems with the inconsistent and irrational behavior of the leading females in the story, Kat and Nina. Without spoiling the plot I found myself confused by Kat's reaction to the situations around her. One moment she fears the vampire before her and in the next moment she wants him and then gets angry when he turns away from her at one point. This was just one example of how Kat's behavior didn't flow smoothly and how some of the scenes had holes in terms of transition.
There were points in the story that I wondered who was the lead character as at times the secondary characters took center stage. It made it difficult to really get into the characters' mind and develop a connection with them. Yes the characters "did" alot in terms of situations in the story but I never got the sense of "who" they were and "why" they behaved the way they did.
Kat and Nina are two females who at the start of the novel were quite independent and capable of handing any situation, but later on loose that strength in their personality. I never really got to know them. I knew their background and what they did, but beyond that I didn't know what they thought and felt. Their were times they reacted in a knee-jerk fashion to situations that didn't resonate with their earlier image at the beginning of the story.
Joe and Philip are the two sexy, British vampires that front the rock band and gain the attention and affection of Kat and Nina. While I loved the sex scenes that each couple had I couldn't help feel that something was still missing. The way that both Kat and Nina fell for the vampires just seemed to fast and lacked substance in understanding the development of their attraction. A particular situation between Philip and Nina confused me. In the story we are introduced to Philip's "need" for this mysterious woman in his dreams that he must find in order to help him gain his strength and for his survival. Why Nina, what is the connection and how they have that connection is never explained. It would have been interesting to know the how and why of this connection since we find out a little later on that Nina has been having the same dreams of Philip. Again how and why?
Despite the flaws in the story I do hope the author continues with this series, but puts more emphasis on developing the characters and allowing them to grow and to tell their story. ...more
This is a short, sweet read about Tehran, a young woman who feels alone and unloved on the world and SebaReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
This is a short, sweet read about Tehran, a young woman who feels alone and unloved on the world and Sebastian, a vampire who in his 400 plus years of "living" has never known what it is to love a woman until now.
Tehran literally crashes in Sebastian one night as she tries to escape a mob of men who want to plunder her body. What occurs next for the two of them is an unknown force that draws them together despite the fact that they have just met. However, because of a sense of betrayal Tehran resists what her heart tells her and flees from Sebastian while he struggles to win her heart.
I truly enjoyed this book as I feel the deep passion that Sebastian felt for Tehran. There is one scene in particular where Sebastian is on his front porch and he willing endures the sun's rays to in order to follow Tehran. That scene broke my heart and made my heart ache for his pain. The way the author describes Sebastian (mouth-watering) and that scene will make the reader want to scream at Tehran and smack her for being such a fool.
While I would have preferred the sex scenes to be more descriptive, the author did a marvelous job creating some very passionate and hot scenes.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a paranormal romance story with a passionate, brooding vampire who knows how to make you melt with his undead love.
Set in Victorian England Brandon Ridley discovers a young woman who stirs him like no other before, but the question that remains is will he be able to have her for eternity.
As Arden Stephens runs from danger she is unaware that she may be running into another. Saving Arden from possible death, Brandon give her employment as his maid to tend to his needs, however, Arden is unaware how much she will be tending to his needs and what it may cost her.
The encounters between Arden and Brandon were so intense at times that not only did Brandon leave Arden weak and drained, but also had the reader wishing to trade places with her. The deep passion that develops between the two doesn't go unnoticed by a nemesis that is bent on destroying their happiness.
Both Brandon and Arden have suffered so much in their lifetime and have felt lost and alone in the world until now. The only thing that may keep them apart is their fear of what lies ahead for them and a force bent as keeping them apart. A dream lover, dark magic and a growing danger of dark forces consuming everything makes this an intriguiReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
A dream lover, dark magic and a growing danger of dark forces consuming everything makes this an intriguing, short, erotic paranormal story that has the reader guessing what is going to happen next. What was refreshing about this particular story was the interesting use of various paranormal creatures that makes your body tingle both from heat and the looming danger.
Valerie has always been in touch with her psychic abilities, but she has never encountered anything like the erotic dreams she has been having with a hot and seductive lover that brings her to orgasms just by his mere touch.
Valerie's dream lover is the ultimate, perfect lover as he fulfills her completely both physically and emotionally, but only in her dreams. Valerie's life is not the most perfect, but at least she was in control up to now. Dark forces are rising and Valerie doesn't know whether her soul will be lost to them and if her dreams of her phantom lover are part of it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book not only for the hot scenes (and a dream lover that really knows how to seduce Valerie and get her panting), but also for the plotline that has the reader guessing right to the end.
I was left wanting more and to see a continuation of the story as there are questions that are left unanswered and a delicious dream lover that needs more exploring. Without spoiling anything for the reader let me just say that you will want to see more of this dream lover and learn more about who and want he is.
Warning this book contains BDSM and the use of a sex toy, but the way the author wrote the scenes they were not disturbing but quite sensual and hot. An excellent short read that will have you craving for more.

This is the first book in the series by Jean Murray and I want to start off by saying I was blown away by this book and I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series. This book had elements that would satisfy not only fans of paranormal romance but also urban fantasy fans as it combined Egyptian Gods and Goddesses, the walking dead, betrayal, and the world at peril against the backdrop of a hot and passionate romance.
The premise of the book is that a strange plague has infected the world that has turned humans into the walking dead who crave the hot blood of humans. The only defense the humans have against these walking dead is a league of Nehebkau huntresses who made it their goal to eradicate them from the world especially for Lilly. Until that point in time that was her the only thing that was important to her until her encounter with a strange, powerful creature who turned her existence upside down. The moment she meets Asar she finds herself drawn to him and vice versa. Who wouldn't be drawn to the God of the Underworld who not only radiates power, but seduction with his gorgeous, muscular physique, shoulder length black hair and dark piercing eyes.
Asar has his own curse that he has had to endure that has left him with only hate and revenge to fuel him until he meets Lilly. There is something about her that tames and soothes him that he cannot explain since he has no soul to soothe. Yet the more time he spends with Lilly the more he finds himself opening doors within himself that he thought were shut closed for eternity.
The building sexual tension between the two of them grows so intense that when they do get together they sizzle off the pages. All I can say is Asar really knows how to rock a woman's world, literally, and the way he is described and what he does will make you wish you had him for yourself.
The other thing I want to mention is the author not only did an marvelous job of writing passionate scenes that were so hot that you wanted to put the book down to find your significant other at that very moment, but also writing such strong emotional scenes that you felt your heart ache with pain and sorrow.
The secondary character were also so amazing. They didn't appear as filler as some do in other books, but were so well fleshed out that you wanted to know more about them. At some points they provided some wonderful light comic relief within the story with the main characters.
This is a must read that will satisfy readers who want not only a hot, passionate romance but also action that will keep you glued to the pages and wanting to know what is going to happen next. I was extremely impressed at how much action did occur in this book and what makes me want to read book 2 is it ends with a cliffhanger.
As soon as Book 2 is out I plan to get my copy and savor getting reacquainted with everyone and continuing where the story left off and finding out what is going to happen next with these wonderful characters.

First off Out in Blue felt more like an UF novel then a PNR book because of the storyline surrounding the archangels and demons. There was a developing romance between the two main characters, archangel Wren and human Ginger, but the few scenes where the two were intimate read more at a YA level versus that adult level that I am accustom to reading. However, this does not take away from the book it being an interesting novel dealing with the dangerous existence that archangels and demons face trying to exist among humans who want to see them eradicated from the earth.
Wren is an archangel who has decided to live alone and not to trust anyone after the deep betrayal that rocked his existence and forced him to live in solitude from the other archangels. His heartache and sense of despair makes the reader become attached to his plight and wish for him to finally feel something for someone or allow someone to touch his lost soul.
Ginger is that person who may be able to make Wren open up his heart and soul once again. Ginger being raised by a demon after her own parents were killed has always felt a kinship to them and archangels then to her human counterparts who she sees as barbaric in their pursuit to hunt archangels for their feathers. When Ginger rescues Wren she finds that she is drawn to him by some force and is willing to sacrifice everything in order to ensure his safety.
In the process Wren and Ginger find that although they have known each other for a short time period they know that what they feel for each other goes at a deeper level then lust but a connection of souls that were fated to be together. The dramatic events that occur following Ginger's rescue of Wren and their desperate attempt to escape from the hunters on their trail and a nemesis from Wren's past who is bent on destroying everyone in his path makes this a page-turner that will be difficult to put down.
There are some surprising revelations that I will not reveal as to not spoil it for readers, but what I can say is that at 250 pages a lot of action and plot revelations occurs that leaves the reader surprised and wondering what is going to happen next. This is a wonderful start to a series that looks at archangels differently then other novels have and presents a storyline with so many possibilities that readers will be anxious to reader the next installment in the series. I for one can't wait to see what will happen next....more

Dirty Dancer is the 1st book in the series that delves into the world of Viking immortals, gods and the forces of evil that they battle. Of course in the midst of these paranormal creatures there is a developing romance between Jett Donivan, a Viking Immortal who works as a male exotic dancer in Las Vegas and Sophia Dahl, a Las Vegas powerhouse executive.
What was enjoyable about this novel were the intense, passionate scenes between Jett and Sophia. The author was able to describe their scene quite so vividly that you wished you were Sophia.
However, there were aspects about the book that I felt that it was missing something. The development of the relationship between between Jett and Sophia moved very fast, perhaps too fast, to the point that it was a little unrealistic and predictable. There were aspects in the book where scenes needed more elaborations or were wrapped up too easily without any conflict or consequences involved.
Overall in general I enjoyed the concept of these two people giving into their desires for each other. I mean who wouldn't like a gorgeous, male exotic dancer/Viking immortal rocking your world. I just wished there was more emotional depth developed between Jett and Sophia and more paranormal action. That being said, I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series to see what happens to this couple as it ends with questions that need answering. ...more

Dirty Deeds is the 2nd book in there series by R.M. Sotera and I must state you should read book 1 (Dirty Dancer) before reading this only to understand what is happening in this book.
First off I have to say this book hit an emotional chord for me and I'm happy to say the author improved from the first book by getting into the characters' psyche. The book did have some very intense sex scenes (there was a little F/F/M going on which I'm not into, but it wasn't to the level that it made me feel uncomfortable), but what really pulled it together for me was the emotional development in the relationship between Jett and Sophia.
Not to spoil it for readers, but there was a part in the book that made my heartache for Sophia and the betrayal that she went through. I found myself angry at Jett for his conduct, his lack of explanation to Sophia for his actions and for the ultimate betrayal that would be very difficult to forgive. Looking at that point I felt Sophia forgave Jett too easily and he never asked for her forgiveness.
I enjoyed book 2 more then the previous book in the series as the author not only give us a hot romance but action, intrigue and the emotional development in the characters to make the readers care about their well-being. This is one book that stayed with me after reading it and I think the main reason is I just couldn't believe how the betrayal was played out and how much it hurt Sophia. I'm intrigued to read book 3 and see how this drama will unfold....more

Dirty Valkyie is the 3rd book in the series by R.M. Sotera that focuses on Laurent Bovier, a gorgeous French vampire living in New Orleans and Valkyrie demi-goddess Brandi Lui. Readers first met theses two in the previous books and although Jett and Sophia have important parts in this book the main focus is the growing passion that develops between Laurent and Brandi.
After the second book I truly wanted Laurent to find someone who would return the passion that he so much wanted to share with someone special. Luckily he didn't have to wait long as he found a special connection with Brandi who is Jett's sister. Now Brandi on the other hand has her own prejudice against vampires that she needs to overcome, but soon finds that she can't resist the growing charm of Laurent. Come on ladies who could resist a tall, dark, gorgeous vampire with a smooth French accent that makes everything that comes out of his mouth sound as smooth as velvet and make you melt from the heat behind it.
As Laurent tries to convince Brandi that he is the one who completes her, together along with Jett and Sophia, they continue their quest to try and save the world from evil being unleashed. As if that is not enough Laurent has to protect them from a menacing group of vampires who are intent to enacting their form of punishment. At one point in the story a major turning point occurs that changes the fate of two of the characters that will play a significant role in future books. All I will say is the way the book ends the reader is left wondering what now. ...more

This is a paranormal erotic novel in the true sense from the get go. The focus from beginning to end is the driving passion of the two leading characters. Don't expect a compelling storyline with lots of intrigue or mystery, but what is presented is a tender story of love, acceptance and loyalty.
Knox is forced to live in isolation from others because of what he is until he confronts a female human who touch his soul.
Jaycee has had her heart broken in the past and feels that there is no one she can pour her heart and soul into only the 3 beautiful children that she has been a nanny to during the first six years of their lives and treasures as her own.
It is not until one day Knox comes along and senses children playing in the backyard and wants to investigate that he encounters a human female fighting him off in wolf form to protect the children that captivates him.
Knox finds he can't stay away from her and manages to fulfill Jaycee's wildest and erotic dreams in more ways then one. Jaycee finds herself falling in love with her dream lover and wishing he was real and Knox wishing he could be her reality. These two really burn up the pages during their escapades which will satisfy paranormal erotic fans.
In the end this was a warming story of two people who have been abandoned by people in their lives and find love and acceptance in the most unusual way.
The concept of angels, vampires and werewolves living among humans and seeing angels as powerful and sexyReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
The concept of angels, vampires and werewolves living among humans and seeing angels as powerful and sexy beings with raw passion had me very excited to read this book. The book had real potential in the beginning, but the more I read the book the more the world began to unravel, fall apart lose its appeal.
The beginning had a beautiful set up with Adrian running into his beloved Shadoe reincarnated in Lindsay at a chance encounter at an airport. The strong physical attraction between them had so much potential in terms of not only providing the reader with some enjoyable moments reading about their physical encounters, but also getting to know the characters and their emotional makeup. Unfortunately the world that the author tried to build up crumbled due to inconsistencies in some key plotlines.
As I read the book I kept finding inconsistencies and hypocritical situations that it made it difficult for me to develop a connection to Adrian and feel sympathetic for him despite his physical appeal. Perhaps what made it difficult to accept were the issues surrounding the nature of angels and the reason behind Adrian's hatred of vampires.
There were several contradictions that were mentioned in various parts of the book that made the world confusing to follow. At one point in the book Adrian states that angels are not to experience mortal love, but then later states that they can have sex. This leads to the confusing nature of what is happening with Adrian. He is angel who fell in love with a mortal and had sex with her and as his punishment his love is reincarnated over and over again throughout the centuries. Yet the fact has been stated that the consequence for an angel falling in love and having sex with a mortal is having their wings taken and turned into a vampire. Later on one of his closest angels confesses to him that she has fallen in love with a lycan which results in the angel and her love being hunted down. However, Adrian makes the other angels know, without a doubt, that he is having sex with Lindsay. It is these contractions that made my head spin at times and made it difficult to feel for Adrian because I felt he was being hypocritical.
Despite the flaws in the world building the book will appeal to both paranormal romance and urban fantasy fans. The series has the formula for some amazing interactions to develop between the characters and action that will please urban fantasy fans. I can see that the series has the potential to keep the readers on the edge of their seats, but the inconsistencies need to be cleaned up so they don't throw off the flow and interest in the books.

This is the first book in a series that focuses on a young woman discovering that she is part of a paranormal world she didn't believe existed and is now forced to be part of it in the most dangerous way.
Layla is a likable character and one that the reader will connect with especially upon learning about her difficult childhood and how she tries to overcome obstacles to make it on her own. That is until she meets a gorgeous looking guy who shows an interest in for more reasons then she is aware of at first. Despite Brett's mission to ensure Layla's safety Brett can't help falling for her and soon everything becomes more complicated.
There are several twists and turns as new enemies pop up and revelations about Layla's past plays a big part in her destiny. However, it is her destiny that some are determined to ensure does not get fulfilled.
Now there we some intimate moments but too few and they lacked the details to really classify this novel as an adult paranormal romance. The elements in the book made it seem more like an urban fantasy and due to the subtle references to the sex scenes, except for one, if felt more like it belonged in the YA categories (16 and over). This is not to take away from the characters and the story, just that it is not the the level I am accustomed to in order to rank it as an adult paranormal romance.
Overall it was an interesting read with mystery and intrigue to keep the reader wondering the importance of Layla and what the future holds for her.

Zane's Redemption is the 5th book in the Scanguards Vampires series and it has not lost its steam and ability to pull the reader in with its compelling storyline and characters that regular readers of the series have come to love. Tina somehow manages to capture the essence of her characters and make them jump off the pages and come alive that you cannot help but feel their turmoil and passion throughout the book.
Regular readers of the series will remember Zane as the dangerous, reclusive Scanguard vampire that even his friends know to keep their distance at times or face his wraith. However, we get a closer look at Zane and learn about the past horrors he endured and understand the reason for him existing on hate and revenge alone until he meets Portia.
I thought Portia was the perfect fit for Zane and the right person that would be able to breakthrough the wall that he had erected around his heart to keep everyone out. Her sweet and innocent charm, her ability to see the passionate vampire underneath the cold exterior and understanding the deep pain he must have gone through to make him the way he was made Portia the perfect person for him.
I loved some of the banter that occurred in the book between Zane and Portia that showed the playful side of Zane. There were several scenes in the book that had me grinning from ear-to-ear and laughing out loud that people around me gave me strange looks. Without spoiling anything, the scenes with Yvette were hilarious. Oh and who could resist Z? ;)
Not only does the reader get to see the depths of Zane's anger, but also his passion. Portia ignites feelings inside Zane that he had refused to ever feel again surface to the top like a volcano. The heat that these two generate on the pages is so sizzling hot you will need to hose yourself off to cool down. I loved how Zane could show both his animalistic and gentle side with Portia (wow he really knows how to love hard and soft). "fanning self"
As always Tina does an amazing job giving readers so much to savor (action, intrigue, passion, love) and enthralls the reader into feeling everything that the characters go through. Readers will definitely treasure this book as it will pull them in on a wonderful journey of highs and lows....more
The title of this book is so appropriate and truly encompasses the depth of the emotions and the turmoil that Tsalrin and Miria encounter together. Now do not think that it was all heartache. The developing love between Tslarin and Miria, and Tslarin's growing trust in both feeling love for her and her love for him was beautiful and very moving at times. When these two get together they really burn up the pages.
What truly captivated me about this book was the world that the author created. A beautiful fantasy world that had me visualizing the scenes before me, not quite like Earth but similar. At times it felt as if I was in the middle of Games of Thrones or The Lord of the Rings. The way Tslarin and Miria were physically described I couldn't help not picture in my mind Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen (Mmmm Jason Momoa) and they way Miria interacted in the formality with the use of her language. Perhaps that was the other aspect of the book that made the reader feel lost in the world. The language was full of formality, passion and beauty that it felt as if it was from another time period of long ago.
The premise of the book focuses on Tslarin and Miria's determination to free themselves from their bonds of servitude that both are forced to obey. The struggles that both Tslarin and Miria endured while in bondage and their attempts to be together and to love each other freely had me screaming at certain points of the book "please give them a break!"
This was a wonderful book that had so much happening that it will appeal not only to paranormal romance fans but also fantasy and historical romance readers. The only things that bothered me were the unusual words that they writer used at times where I had to re-read a part to understand who was speaking or to understand the terms. I also would have liked to have seen the ending expanded upon more and felt it ended too abruptly and left me wanting more. This is not a negative but a positive as I wanted to see more of this beautiful couple. ...more
Dirty Immortals is the 4th in the Dirty Series that reunites Jett, Sophia, Laurent and Brandi together anReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
Dirty Immortals is the 4th in the Dirty Series that reunites Jett, Sophia, Laurent and Brandi together and continues where it left off in book 3. This was a very light and quick read that focuses on Jett and Brandi and their father Thor's obsession in obtaining the hammer from them at all cost, though at the time none of them expected the cost to be so high. `As in the Goodreads blurb, stating that Jett and Brandi have the daddy issues with Thor is putting it mildly and more like they want to ring his neck.
Laurent and Brandi played a large role in this sequel while Jett and Sophia were more in the background and had brief moments however, their moments had a huge impact on the storyline and the direction where future books in the series will go.
I was very surprised and saddened by the events that transpired and, at the same time, found myself in awe with Laurent. He was a sexy, bad-ass, powerful vampire and became my favorite character in this series. I loved his little sexy time with Brandi with his naughty, taboo ways (warning there was some anal action) that may have lacked in quantity definitely satisfied me in terms of quality (Mmmm Laurent really knows how to take care of a woman).
Despite some grammatical errors or typos, which lead to some scenes that didn't quite make sense, it is nice novella to wet your appetite for something with light action both under and above the sheets.
If you don't have the time or energy to get submerged in a long and heavy novel then this is a good one to pick up. I'm looking forward to seeing what is going to happen next in the series with these characters and how they are going to get through this latest dilemma.

This is the first book in Felicity Heaton's Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series and I have to say she is off to a very good start. This series seems to have a darker, sensual vibe to it and definitely more erotic. The story is about a forbidden love between a vampire and a human who is owned by another vampire set amidst the backdrop of an erotic theatre that caters to vampires and their needs.
Javier and Lilah have tried to hide and keep their passion for each other under control for the past two years until it is too much for either of them to conceal any longer. Though this is a very erotic book with some very intense scenes it is a very tender and loving story of two people unleashing and sharing everything with each other despite the consequences, and the consequences are severe. No other vampire is allowed to touch a human that is owned by another otherwise face death. Despite the knowledge of their doomed love they are willing to try and find a means to stay together. The only thing is will they be able to defeat everyone and everything in their way of being together.
I really enjoyed how Felicity was able to develop not only the strong emotional connection that the characters had for each other, but the description of the scenes itself. The author has an amazing ability to make the reader experience every nuance that is occurring in a scene from the emotional components between the characters to the description of the scenery.
Since this is the first book in the series we should get to know more about the other vampires that are part of Vampireerotique theatre in subsequent books. The one I am most looking forward to is Snow. Although he made a brief appearance he made quite an impression and made this reader very intrigued at what lurks behind the wall he has built around himself.
A wonderful addition to the paranormal erotic romance genre and one that will be a favorite for many.
First I would like to start off by saying I was very surprised by the book on so many different levels. OReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
First I would like to start off by saying I was very surprised by the book on so many different levels. One of the things that struck me about the book was the very different world that the author developed consisting of angels and demons, compared to others I have read. In Gothic City Lights the angels are earthbound who have 770 years to complete their mission of saving souls and fighting demons before they can ascend to being a true angel. However, these angels seem more human then angels. They may be stronger and faster then humans, but they fight with guns, have very strong emotions such a anger and will do anything it takes to capture a demon including strip.
I really connected to both Antonio and Helena because both had flaws and together they were able to overcome their doubts about themselves and open up to someone who could see their inner beauty. Antonio is rugged, tough and broken in some ways, never having been loved by anyone. He has spent his life fighting demons and he has the scars across his body and face to prove it, but the biggest scar lies in his heart. When Helena sees Antonio while she is stripping at the strip club for the first time to lure a demon she is instantly attracted to him. The is something about him that touches her heart and soul. At first Helena mistakes Antonio as the demon she is trying to lure, but soon finds out he is a warrior like herself battling evil.
Antonio has never seen anyone so beautiful in his life and when he has the chance to kiss Helena he takes it knowing he will never have another chance and that a beauty such as Helena would never want him. However, the connection is too strong for both of them with Helena needing to find out more about this man who stirs her and the man who can't get Helena out of his head.
What happens next is one very hot and intense sexy scene that had both craving for more, but at the same time breaking down barriers that each put up around their hearts. There were so many tender moments where Antonio's disbelief surrounding Helena's love for him were heartbreaking and truly made this reader's heart ache for him.
The consequences of Antonio's and Helena's relationship really drew me in as I really didn't know what to expect and I was quite surprised. The author did a great job in creating tension and drama as well as some very erotic scenes that tested Antonio's resolve and commitment to Helena.
I really enjoyed this book and I am really looking forward to more in this series because who would have thought that angels were able to have such intense sexual needs and a Mother Superior who lets her angels have a little fun on the side....more

When I received this book I was intrigued on reading a book about shifters and the struggle that one shifter goes through to retrieve his love from an evil alpha bent on forcing his mate bear children for another. As I read this book I really tried to keep an open mind, but I kept on coming across obstacles that made it difficult to really get into the book.
Perhaps the biggest issue I had with the book were the descriptions of the main characters Tyler and Katrina. Over and over the again the author kept on emphasizing how rake thin both characters were especially Tyler. I may be shallow, but when I read a paranormal romance book I want my males to be big, strong and very alpha instead of constantly of them being constantly described as stick thin, with no muscles and not really physically attractive. For me it just kills the whole reason for reading this type of genre: to escape and to fantasize. I mean it is hard to get all hot and bothered by what the author describes as a lanky, 150 lbs. red-haired Ronald MacDonald lookalike (this is what the author actually said).
As for Katrina there doesn't seem to be much to go on in terms of developing a connection with her. We know certain facts about her background such as her escape from China where she would have been forced to bear children for the local alpha and her relationship with Tyler, but we really don't know her on an emotional level.
Though I do like the point that when push came to shove Tyler was able to allow his shifter side to take over and fight for the woman he loved and save her. However, it just wasn't enough for me to get enthralled by the book. I found the book didn't have enough romance and strong characters to get worked up about and get excited about what was going to happen next. Though it may appeal to some who like a lanky type of guy getting the girl who he loves back unfortunately I would have liked to have seen better character development and a more dynamic storyline....more
This is the second book in the vampire erotic theatre romance series and Felicity Heaton has one again crReview by Ollie for bittenbyparanormalromance
This is the second book in the vampire erotic theatre romance series and Felicity Heaton has one again created a highly descriptive world where the unbelievable becomes believable. The world and the characters she creates come to life and you feel you can reach out and touch them. As you read the story you will find yourself asking can a vampire and a werewolf find love and make it work despite all the odds against them?
Callum is on a business trip to Paris for the theatre, but he find that all he can do is crave Katrina, a female werewolf that he has been watching that has his blood racing and his body craving for her.
Kristina is running from her pack because she is at her prime for mating and the alpha of the pack wants her to bear his kids. Her past trauma forces her to run and hide which ultimately leads her into the arms of Callum.
The developing relationship between Callum and Kristina was not solely based on sex (though they were very erotic and scorching hot!) but focused on key themes such as building trust, following your heart, putting your faith in someone else, and believing that you don't have to be alone in the world.
Callum's tender, loving and caring nature was perfectly balanced with his strong and powerful alpha male (of course gorgeous too) that made Kristina feel that he could take care of her both from the world around them and under the sheets too. :)
Kristina was sexy, playful, independent with a healthy does of vulnerability that didn't make her weak but made her true survivor. Her sensuality was perfect in bringing out Callum's alpha hidden within him without allowing it to dominant Kristina too much (unless she wanted him to at times).
I highly recommend this book to paranormal romance fans who enjoy some smoking hot scenes and characters who seem to come alive. Snow fans will get a taste of him, and what a delightful one it is both because of the physical and emotional beauty of the vampire....more
