Don't get me wrong there were several very intense scenes that were steaming hot and would still be classified as a paranormal romance, but it were the lonely times that the main character had to endure that broke my heart for him. It was a very compelling story that had me craving to learn more about the intriguing circumstance of the lead character.
Eirik had the misfortune of being born during the bewitching hour and cursed by a powerful being that had caused him to be born extremely disfigured. The moments after his birth and the disgust that people had towards him and he could sense were heartbreaking, bringing me to tears as I could clearly hear his cries of sorrow for the rejection he felt. The next part made me cry even more as his father cradled him in his arms and tenderly held him, kissed him and told him how much he loved him, soothing infant Eirik. These two two scenes will stay with me for a long time and still brings me to tears as I write this piece because it sets the stage for the this kind, and gentle soul shunned by the world and rejected by everyone. It is his love for his parents that provides him with the his only comfort as his body through the years becomes more painfully disfigured. It is a very unusual story dealing with warlocks, witches, Druid lore with the interaction of several key characters who play a role in Eirik's destiny.
Now you may be wondering where is the romance? Well I don't want to give too much away because if I tell you in detail who engages in some very hot scenes it will give too much away of Eirik's story. What I can tell you is that Eirik is not the only one that we see having very intense, passionate scenes. Eirik, on the other hand, proves that behind the monstrous exterior lies a man with a sweet, tender, passionate, loving soul and man intent to giving everything he has for the one he loves and receiving the love back.
I so much wanted to give this story an higher rating, but there were several parts of the book where the sentences were broken up and it made the story loose its flow and most of all made me wonder what was happening. I don't know if this was an issue as to how the file was converted or if it was an existing issue in how the book was originally formatted, but it was very distracting. The other thing is I wished the author provided more details about the plotline, specifically the world building and explanation for some of the turn of events. I had too many questions about who some of the secondary characters were, why were they there and what was their purpose within the story.
Overall in general I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy reading a paranormal romance that has lots of mystery, intrigue, heartache, but most of all a male lead character who you would love to hold in your arms and tell him how much you loved him and expect to be loved passionately in return. Right from the beginning at the Prologue up to the very the end, he story had me glued to the pages relishing the happenings between Thomas and Emma. There was definitely a thriller aspect to the story, but what really drew me to the story were the characters and the sweet tale of a kind-hearted, average girl who happened to catch the eye of a gorgeous multimillionaire and their love for each other which at times were put to extreme tests.
Right from the start the plot of the story is set from Thomas' POV with him reminiscing how he met Emma and his concern over how she will react to what he is going to tell her, unfortunately it becomes much bigger then he could have ever imagined. Not only does he have a ex-girlfriend who wants him back, but a woman who is unstable and capable of doing the unthinkable.
What happens next in the story and throughout is seen from Emma's POV as she deals with the news that her loving husband is having an affair and the length that the other woman will take to make him hers. Many times Emma's faith in herself, in her husband and in herself were put to the test as circumstances made it seem that her life with her gorgeous husband was all a lie. Many scenes were heartbreaking as she was forced to confront her worst fears and to tried to find in herself the truth.
Even though Thomas was a player before he met Emma he really didn't have any negative qualities about himself which made him a very likable character (ok I loved him). He may have a slight dominant and commanding aura about himself, but nothing arrogant or rude about him. Thomas just happened to be an extremely good-looking man and women would through themselves at him (even with Emma by his side), but he only had eyes for Emma which melted my heart for him.
In between the tense moments with Thomas' ex causing havoc with their lives I really enjoy the flashback scenes as Emma would remember how they were when the first met and the tender moments between the two of them. It was during those scenes that really warmed my heart and made me fall more in love with these characters. It showed the true deep of their feelings for each other and at one point allowed Emma to lose some of the insecurities that she still felt. Thomas is one very romantic guy and definitely knows how to make the woman he loves feel special. The sexy scenes between them were steaming hot and they way Thomas worshiped Emma's body, all I can say is she is one lucky woman. :)
Now there very quite a few tearjerker moments, but there was one significant point in the book that was particular heartbreaking that my heart ached for them and I really cared what was going to happen to them. So be prepared with some tissues as you find at times your heart bleeding for both Thomas and Emma. Now the way the book ends it left me wanting more and to know what was going to happen next. Therefore, I am happy to say that there is a sequel in the works and I can't wait to read. Even though there were a few grammatical and structural errors, I have such a vivid imagination it did not deter me. I have a tendency to actually put myself in the story and see it as if I am standing on the side watching everything unfold so it did not hinder the flow too much. Now it may bother some people, but don't let it. This was a wonderful debut book from this author and based on her ability to try and capture the emotional intensity of scenes she is on a great start as an author.

Cherry Stem is a different paranormal romance book then most I have read. Usually the male hero is the paranormal creature (vampire, werewolf, shapeshifter etc.) and the heroine is the mortal who eventually can't resist the charm of the male protagonist. In this Cherry Stem, the heroine is the vampire and the hero is the gorgeous, male mortal, who despite his lack of strength and speed (in comparison to the heroine) still had a strong, dominant, alpha presence that can even make a vampire melt with his gaze and sensuality. What I loved about this story is how despite Cherry being a vampire she still showed her humanity, vulnerability and weaknesses to Alex, who in turn showed her strength, determination and power both in dealing with the challenges that they faced and in love.
Cherry Stem had so much happening that I was glued to the pages. Action, love, betrayal, trust, a sexy ex, intrigue and twists and turns that had me cheering for these two to overcome the obstacles that they faced. I wanted Cherry and Alex to take of hold of the love that was in front of them and to not be afraid of the possibilities. As you can tell I did develop an emotional connection with these two especially Alex. I just don't know to describe it, but there was something about him that made him seem so real and such a wonderful guy that any woman would be lucky to have him (it didn't hurt that was described to look like a yummy Greek God and really knew how to satisfy a woman). There were moments in the book that I did have tears in my eyes because of everything that happened to these two and how they both deserved happiness with each other.
This is one book that paranormal romance fans will enjoy sinking their teeth into and savouring both the bittersweet and sexy, tender moments.
I have been following the Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance series by Felicity E. Heaton since book 1 and I am never disappointed in the care that the author takes in describing in detail the interactions between the lead characters. In Bewitch the author give another fantastic story surrounding love, redemption, and most of all forgiveness.
Payne is half-vampire, half-incubus and he has never accepted his incubus side for some reason which we discover in the novel. I have to say I loved Payne. He has this bad boy vibe going on, but underneath the tough exterior is really a lost soul trying to find a place to fit in and a need to be loved. I was surprised learn about his history and the reason for his self-loathing which made me want to hug him, hold him and make him mine. It amazed me at times that he couldn't see how gorgeous he was not only on the outside, but also on the inside. He just couldn't see himself desirable only as an abomination unworthy of being loved. Oh Payne I love you!
Elissa on the other hand has her own share of pain, but she manages to tackle through obstacles in front of her to achieve her goals. I found Elissa to be a very spirited young witch who wouldn't back down from a challenge and what was right which made her a likable character. Though her doubts clouded her thinking at times she was able to get past them and see the truth: despite the dangers she couldn't stop herself from falling for Payne. I liked Elissa as she was exactly what Payne needed, a kind soul able to push him to where he needed to go in his journey of self-discovery without being very confrontational.
Together these two really burned up the pages, not only with hot steamy sexy scenes, but also with undeniable passion that neither could ignore. The love, the redemption and the forgiveness that was rewarded to each of them pulled at my heart-string and made me love how these two developed a deep understanding and connection for each other.
Now for all those Snow fans out there (including myself) we got a brief glimpse of him in this book, but what you see will make you ache for him and for his own happily ever after. However, you don't have to wait long as the next book in the series is Snow's and I know because of his tortured past it is going to be a tearjeaker. Don't miss out reading this book as you will be in for a delightful treat with a beautiful vampire/incubus willing to fight his basic urges to find out if he can have happiness in the arms of a witch.
I have to first start off by saying I have been waiting for this book for what seems like ages, every since I was left hanging at the end of book 1 wondering what was going to happen next based on the set up. I don't know where to begin to describe the absolutely marvelous job that the author does in not only creating a wonderful world with so much depth and detail, but a story line the has the mystery and intrigue that will keep you glued to the the pages. I can attest to that as this book had me up into the wee morning hours as I couldn't put it down. Thank goodness it was the holidays otherwise I would have been going into work very exhausted and bleary-eyed.
Book 2 continues on where it left off with Asar's son, Bakari, imprisoned in a sarcophagus for five years tricked by the evil goddess Kepi, tormented and tortured during those years in the dark both physically and mentally. Kendra, the youngest Carrigan sister, is driven to find way to break the spell that has kept him imprisoned and as a result ends up breaking more then the spell.
What happens next is a wonderful story not only dealing with lies, deceptions, and retribution, but also focuses on compassion, love, forgiveness and redemption. As Bakari deals with trying to regain control over himself and come to terms with his past, Kendra discovers that love can hit you like a bolt of lightening. Even though Kendra has been bonded to Bakari by the spell she feels that their link goes beyond the physical. As times passes and her sweet and gently way penetrates into Bakari's soul soon Kendra realizes that she wants more if only Bakari will let her in.
I have to say there were moments where it was an emotional rollercoaster ride for me as it pained me to see Bakari's suffering and his self-depreciating outlook and also seeing honorable Bomani's world turned upside down.
I highly recommend this book not only for the amazing storyline, but because of the depth that the author goes into developing the complicated characters and their relationships with each other. This book will have your heart aching for Bakari, Bomani and Kendra, wondering who is behind the betrayal and deception among the Gods and Goddesses, and loving the tender moments in the book.
Now I can't wait for book 3 to come out which should feature the last Carrigan sister, Kit and based on her no-nonsense attitude there should some very fun and teasing moments between her and her future beau.(less)

Despite it having a great plot line and a warlock who seemed very delicious (who wouldn't love a man who is tall, dark, handsome, successful and through in a little mystery) the story seemed to move quickly without developing the depth that I needed to satisfy me. I kept coming back to the story hoping that I would learn more or that more details would be developed, but it never panned out. I really felt that Alex and Laurie came together too quickly and that she accepted the situation and what needed to be done so easily that it lost its charm. Perhaps what threw me off the most was it was never explained what was it about Laurie that made Alex have such a strong connection to her that is seemed magical. As I said earlier I really did like the characters but I felt that they were not given the chance to be fully developed and the situations could have been more in-depth.(less)
A Lotus and the Regent is the second book that follows the the keys characters that were first introduced to readers in The Soldier's Louts. This time it is six years later after the first book and focuses on Kamen and his love for an Ausir forced into becoming a Lotus. I have to say I am glad that the author gave us this story because at the end of The Soldier's Lotus the reader was left wondering what would happen to Kamen. He proved to be a kind and loving person who went through so much heartache that you wished for his happily ever after.
I truly enjoyed how the author was able to tie in the other books in the series together and give the reader an understanding regarding the amount of time that had pasted from one book to the next. Even though each book deals with a different tribe they are all interconnected and the books provide a consistent flow in the passage of time (in this case hundreds of years have past from the time of Love Comes Twice).
At first I didn't like Kamen in The Solier's Lotus as he tried to break up the relationship that developed between Darien and Saeri, but in this book he redeemed himself. Kamen proved to be a loving, kind, loyal and protective lover who would do anything to protect the one he loves.
I found Ajalira to be a truly tortured individual who had to endure, in her eyes, shame and defilement all in the name of honour. Despite all the loneliness and pain that she endured she never gave up and kept her spirit to fight on which was very endearing.
The loving relationship that developed between the two of them was just that: full of love and acceptance. The two not only found with each other what they had both been seeking, but also learned that despite all the obstacles that were thrown in their way that through perseverance and dedication their love would survive anything. Just a word of warning this book includes some very intense, hot scenes featuring some bondage, anal play and anal sex.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy stories set in far away places where love endures hardship and flourishes in the arms of a lover completely devoted to showing the other they are worthy of love. That is what you will find with the love between Kamen and Ajalira.
First off I have to say the beginning of the book had me laughing out loud as the author demonstrates her sense of humour by starting off with the line "a priest, a witch and a demigod walk into a bar." Right off the bat I knew this was going to be a different paranormal book and it was.
I was instantly drawn to the idea of a tough, alpha, sexy priest fighting beside a witch and a demigod against the forces of evil and Satan himself. The thing I kept wondering was how long would it take before temptation would grip Riona and Marc and lead them to their fall. Oh and I cannot forget the deliciously handsome and talented demon Jerry thrown into the mix. There were times I didn't know who I wanted Riona to end up with, but she too didn't know which she desired more.
The only thing that bothered me about the story was Riona herself. She would state that she had the hots for one person and in the next scene she is getting hot and heavy with someone else, whether it was with the priest, Jerry the demon or her sexy female neighbour. She would state her deep feelings for someone and in the next breath her libido is in overdrive and she is making out with someone else. I just didn't feel her feelings were sincere or strongly developed.
The story had lots happening in terms of the twists and turns that occurred and despite my feelings for Riona I really want to know what is going to happening next and who is going to win her heart. Unfortunately the ending leaves the reader with a slight cliffhanger where you feel like saying "oh you can't leave me wondering like this" but it does. With Satan playing a game and pulling strings to lead himself to the ultimate victory, I personally can't wait to see what happens in book 2 and how Riona will face off with him.
I highly recommend this book to paranormal romance fans who enjoy snarky comments, humourous lines and cliches and most of all delicious hunks who would sacrifice everything, even their own lives, to prove their love for the woman that sets them of fire.
This was the first book I read with a female Dominant and a male sub (I have read many male Doms and female sub stories) so I kept an open mind on how the interaction would be between these two. While it was different from the usual BDSM books that I read it was enjoyable and did show me another side of the lifestyle.
Grace is investigating a murder of a councilwoman who had connections with an exclusive BSDM and decides to gain access into the club as Domme Mistress Red. It is here where she meets Ray, or I should say, Ray is intrigued by her the moment she comes into the club and manages to make her play a scene with him. The thing I found interesting about Ray is he is a switch, (plays both a Dom and a sub) but it seemed that he naturally prefers the sub role as he has been craving the need for pain and submission since his Master has taken off.
This is where I had some difficulty in connecting with the characters in their growing relationship. Ray is a vampire and yet he doesn't show any characteristics that would distinguish him as one, except for one scene where he takes some blood from a woman's shoulder or drinking a glass of blood, otherwise I would not have known he was a vampire. The other thing that I found hard to connect with either character is I never got to REALLY know them. It seemed that Grace and Ray would play and that would be it. Situations would occur where she would need his assistance, but otherwise I felt no connection. Even during the sexy scenes it just seem lacking any passion. I get that he needs to submit, but I just found Ray too passive and weak (he stated at some point that he submits because he doesn't want to be alone). Grace on the other hand seemed to lack emotions, too bossy and I really didn't like how she would knock down praise he would give her. I also didn't like the fact that she would try to make him to submit to her even when they were outside of a scene and they never negotiated beyond play scenes. It left me not really liking her and the whole Domme aspect. It seemed more like it was a power trip for her to dominate over someone to compensate feelings of her own inadequacies. Unlike other stories where the Doms are focused on meeting the sub's need I didn't get that impress from Grace.
I did feel sorry for Ray as he seems like a very lonely person and both his Master and Grace seemed to only care what they could get out of their interactions with him versus connecting with him. That was the key thing he wanted, someone to love him. He was finally able to stand up for himself in the end and ask for this, but I really don't know if he would truly get what he wants.
Usually reading a BDSM book makes me feel hot and bothered, however, this one left be more bothered then anything else. I know the author stated that she had spoken to Dommes to have a better understanding before writing this book, but I just felt more heartbroken for Ray in the end. Perhaps it is me and not the author, but I just didn't find anything really sexually appealing about Ray and felt my mother instincts kicking in and wanting to give him a hug and letting him know everything will somehow workout. Overall I have to say it was a interesting read and very tame in the BDSM aspects. Readers who are interested in reading about a woman dominating a man may find this book a good one to start off with in this genre.
I have read many of Felicity Heaton's books, but I have never read this series and boy was I missing out on something, so I am so glad I discovered it because it is fantastic. Though this is book 5 in the series it can be read as a stand alone, but you are introduced to characters that were featured in previous books of their own therefore and I plan to read them as well.
What started out as a story about a young woman encountering a demonic angel sent to rescue her from the bowels of Hell turned out to be so much more. Not only are there twists and turns occurring in the storyline, but with Veiron and Erin as well.
I loved how Veiron tried to tamper down his attraction to Erin, but most of all the deep, soul-burning connection that the two developed. Wow all I can say is Veiron is one deep, passionate lover that when he growls “Mine” you wish you were the one he was saying it to.
Again this book surprised me because just as I thought the story was heading in one direction, BAM, a new twist occurred that left me speechless. Put it this way, if I keep thinking about a book all day long and waiting for the chance to get back to where I left off then is it a great book and this is one of those books. As usual Felicity's writing is so detailed that you feel the intensity of the emotions and the storyline is is full of action, intrigue and passion that I found myself riding an emotional rollercoaster. This book at times had my heart aching with tears running down my face to fantasizing that I was in Erin's place during the passionate scenes.
This is a must read book if you love paranormal romances featuring a demonic angel who will sacrifice everything for his soulmate and a woman demonstrates compassion, tenderness, loyalty and self-sacrifice for the ones she loves.
The Soldier's Lotus was a true love story between two people who were destined to be together and fought the obstacles that are thrown at them in trying to keep them apart. There was passion, deception, revenge and rivalry that will surprise you as it will pull at your heartstring.
This book by Adonis Devereux had a different feel to it compared to the other books. While still set in the enchanting world of Gilalion we learn about several other tribes different from the ones in previous books and in particular Darien and Saerileth, who are so very different from each other but are destined for each other. Saerileth planned throughout her young life for revenge and when she encounters the man who was her saviour her world gets turned upside down. No matter what is thrown at Darien and Saerileth, their love and passion is so intense that they would die for each other.
I enjoyed reading this book as I felt the strong emotional bond that they had for each other, at the same time was drawn to conflicts that would tear them apart. What I really loved about this story was Darien and Saerileth's passion that went beyond just the physical, but transcended to a very deep connection of two souls. I could feel that it went beyond what two people could ever hope to have in their lives and that it was one of those rare loves.
Warning this book contains M/M, M/M/F, anal sex, rough sex and toys.
Each time I read Adonis Deverueux's books, which are set in the wondrous world of Gilalion, I always find myself lost in the beautiful details, sights, sounds and powerful emotions. I always feel that I am reading a Greek tragedy mixed with the complexities of Lord of the Rings and the various clans and lands as Game of Thrones.
I have to honestly say that when I finished reading this book I was very moved and full of conflicting emotions ranging from joy, contentment and satisfied to pain, sorrow and dismay. Let this sway you in a positive way as the book stirred me with many strong emotions and left me feeling conflicted with how it ended. The ending was tied up, but not in a neat bow because I wanted a more in-depth explanation as to why one character in particular decided on their course of action.
Riane and Kiltarin's story is a highly erotic one full of great passion, devotion, and loyalty, however, their relationship is put to the test several times in the story which brings with it instances of sorrow, despair and a future in question.
I loved Riane and Kiltarin as a couple. When they explored together who Riane truly was and their discoveries lead them on a path that could tear them apart I was overwhelmed by Kiltarin's love for her. There were moments in the story when Kiltarin's rivals for Riane tried to pry her away from Kiltarin and I personally found it difficult to accept some of her reactions. Again this is just a testament of how well written the book is that it is able to draw such strong emotions from me.
I highly recommend this book which could be read as a stand alone, but characters who have appeared in previous books are mentioned, which if you read first will provide you with a greater appreciation and understanding of the world and the characters.
Be warned this a very hot, erotic book with M/F/M menage, anal sex/play, sex toys, and multiple partners which will result in the need for the reader to take multiple cold showers.

Perhaps what really got to me about this book was Kale's sacrifice for Samantha. Throughout his existence humans never stirred him until he saw Samantha and there was something about her that made him disobey orders and saved her life. He was drawn to her and as a result fell from heaven and the two of them discovered that they were connected to each other in more ways then one. It was interesting to read about the consequences of his actions and the danger that it placed the two of them in. However, the sweetest part of this story was their growing commitment to each other despite the dangers that their relationship placed them in. I would recommend this book if you love reading about angels falling from grace and discovery the joys of love, intimacy and passion against all odds.

In this case it is between Andreu and Varya who are two individuals who believe that their life is just perfect as it is without any commitment to anyone, however, when they meet that belief is put to the test.
Andreu is at the theatre temporarily to help out his brother Javier and then he plans to go back to Barcelona and open his own theatre and live that ultimate life: riches, fame, power and women. He in no ways plans to tie himself to one woman like his brother and the others at the theatre have done. His strong, powerful mannerism and resistance to having a relationship is shattered when one night during a performance when he and the other powerful vampires sense a being in their midst. When he accidentally looks into the eyes of the intruder his body is rocked with the need to possess the creature and make her his despite what his mind is saying.
Varya is a succubus and as a result of her sexual needs she is naturally drawn to the energy that is emulating from the theatre during one of the performances. Varya knows very well to keep herself cloaked from the vampires as her species and vampires do not get along and if they knew she was there they would kill her. However, while she is watching the performance and becoming so engrossed in the sexual energy she drops her cloak and Andreu spots her. The moment that their eyes meet Varya is drawn to him like a moth to a flame however there is one disturbing aspect about him. His aura has darkness surrounding him and according to her people anyone who has darkness and is unreadable is dangerous. However, despite the danger Varya can't help herself to keep away from the theatre and Andreu.
I have to say that when these two got together they burned up the pages. I mean a vampire and a succubus together can only mean some very, hot erotic scenes that I think Felicity out did herself this time. Not only is Andreu a very intense, naughty lover but there is one scene in the book where the intensity of the images will have you needing to take a long cold shower to cool off from the heat.
What I truly loved about this book (and so far I love this series) is that Andreu is a tough alpha who doesn't need anyone and even though his body is raging for Varya his has the willpower to hold back. Of course it is frustrating at times his refusal to give in, but it provided a more realistic feel to the story. Instead of just giving into his desires he battles them, tries to rationalize them and understand them, but ultimately is overpowered by force of his need for this woman.
Readers of this series and of this book will not be disappointed as it delivers everything that an erotic paranormal romance books needs to have; hot, sexy alpha vampire males who despite their hard exterior shell demonstrate passion, tenderness and devotion that burns like an inferno for the one woman that they are meant to be with for all of eternity.
Vampire Dreams Revamped is in fact a revamp of Gabrielle Bisset's Vampire Dreams, but why revamp the story? Since Vampire Dreams Ms. Bisset has introduced readers to the "Sons of Navarus" vampires series and Vampire Dreams Revamped provides a better understanding for the set up of this series. When I read the original story I gave it 5 stars and thought it was wonderful, but I have to say this story had me more emotional involved with Brandon. In Vampire Dreams Revamped we get a much better picture of Brandon's loneliness and his desire to have that one special person in his life which make him even more endearing. As the the rest of the story remains the same Vasilije is portrayed in a different light. A sire who truly cares about the ones he has sired and at the same time a very, hot and sexy vampire who feels that life is all about indulging in carnal pleasures however, deep inside he realizes that a part of him can see the beauty of having a special connection with one person.
Set in Victorian England Brandon Ridley discovers a young woman who stirs him like no other before, but the question that remains is will he be able to have her for eternity.
As Arden Stephens runs from danger she is unaware that she may be running into another. Saving Arden from possible death, Brandon give her employment as his maid to tend to his needs, however, Arden is unaware how much she will be tending to his needs and what it may cost her.
The encounters between Arden and Brandon were so intense at times that not only did Brandon leave Arden weak and drained, but also had the reader wishing to trade places with her. The deep passion that develops between the two doesn't go unnoticed by a nemesis that is bent on destroying their happiness.
Both Brandon and Arden have suffered so much in their lifetime and have felt lost and alone in the world until now. The only thing that may keep them apart is their fear of what lies ahead for them and a force bent as keeping them apart. The ending of Vampire Dreams Revamped is different from the original story and takes us to modern times which was a pleasant surprise and presents the reader with a lead up to the “Sons of Navarus” series. This is a very hot, paranormal erotica novella that any vampire fan will enjoy and who loves her vampire strong, powerful and knowledgeable in pleasuring his love for of of eternity is possible.
When I first read the blurb about this book I had the impression that it was four separate stories dealing with supernatural beings, but it turned out to be four different points of view of the same chain of events that happens one night when a group of female romance writers decide to go out for a girls night out. Little did they know that the evening would change their lives forever and the fate of the world would rest in their hands.
The women always meet up once a month for a get together and this time they have chosen the Blood Bar, which unknown to them is a supernatural meeting ground for vampires, shifters, time-travellers, elementals and other supernaturals. Each story starts from each woman's point of view (the four women are Ana, Noelle, Dizzy and Josie) and starts from when they arrive at the bar to the unusual circumstances that they find themselves in including some very hot encounters with the supernatural kind.
Reading they story a lot of scenes were repeated, primarily surrounding the supernaturals seeing the human female of their destiny and their conversation surrounding their encounters. I have to say at first it was a little confusing, but once I saw how the previous story ties in it started to make sense and made me wonder where is this all leading to. Just like a big jigsaw puzzles the little pieces that are first put together really don't seem to make sense. but as more pieces are put into place then you are able to see what the picture is eluding to.
The Blood Bar Chronicles brings together these four young women and their destined mates together for more then some incredibly hot, sexy time, but to protect one of the women's child (Noelle's child Hope) from being part of a prophesied supernatural war that will only see the world in bloodshed. As to what happens it will be interesting to see how they plan an protecting her, but most of all from whom. Paranormal romance and urban fantasy readers will enjoy this book as long as you look past the redundancy in some of the scenes.(less)
This was a short very novella that deals with a young woman who helps out her elderly aunt by staying at her remote home in a rural area while she goes away on a trip. The only thing that makes you aware something is not right is her aunt's warning never to go into the woods.
Lizzie at first thinks nothing about it until she happens to glance out the kitchen window and sees the face a slightly green man looking at her. Fear grips Lizzie as she feels that she may be losing her mind as she keeps feeling eyes are upon her all the time.
Lizzie decides to escape into town and meets up with the gorgeous Riley who ends up helping relieve some of her tension. However what happens next makes Lizzie realize that perhaps her fears are misplaced and that Riley is not who he appears to be.
This was an interesting story that had some nice, hot scenes and surprised me as I never knew goblins could be so well-endowed. However, there were alot of unanswered questions that made me feel that there were alot of missing pieces. Anything ranging to the existence of the goblin people in woods, the type of relationship the goblin king was asking of Lizzie to the surprising revelation about her aunt. I would have liked if the book expanded on some of these issues, thus making me feel that it wasn't as smooth as it could have been.
A nice introduction to goblins that will have readers seeing them far differently then little green men in the future. Believe me these guys are far from little. :)(less)
This is the second book in the Vampires Destined series but as the author states this book is a standalone and does not need to be read in any order. I was looking forward to reading this book as I always love reading a good vampire story with a strong, passionate and sometimes brooding vampire with a lost soul.
This story had the elements that I enjoy, a brooding vampire who has been alone for so long that he sees his existence more like a curse. Rhad has lived a lonely life ever since he was turned and has never really comes to terms to who and what he is. He sees himself as a monster even though he tries to live a quiet, respectful life he knows others only see him as a vile creature of the night.
Mischa ends up at Rhad's doorstep unconscious and scantily dressed and the moment he sees her he feels that it was the Fates that brought her to him. How little does he or Mischa know that the two have been brought together by supernatural forces who have their own reason and agenda for the two to be together.
As the story unfolds Mischa slowly finds herself drawn to Rhad but tries to resist the attraction knowing what he is and that her primary task is to find her missing sister. Unknown to the both of them Mischa life is at danger from a man who has nothing to lose in ensuring his destiny.
There were a few drawbacks that I found in the story that me me feel that something was missing. It felt at that times that bits of information were missing that would help to explain the plotline for example, why was it so important for the Fates to bring these two together or Rhad's background surrounding to his isolation. I would have enjoyed to have seen the passion between these two as the author presented Rhad as being very ravishing and passionate, but all that I got was an indication that the two were intimate but no details.
Overall, it was a sweet, short story that gave me a taste of vampire love but I wished it would have given me more fire and passion.(less)

Not only was it funny with all the banter between the two characters but the sexual tension and the delicious way Remy got Ysabel all hot and bothered was great!
This is a new series by Eve Langlais that is an off shoot of the Princess of Hell series as we see familiar secondary characters such as Satan and details about his family.
Ysabel was burned at the stakes during the Middle Ages for being witch and upon her death she sold her soul to the devil in exchange for tormenting for eternity the 5 soul responsible for her demise, including her lover who betrayed her. Since then Ysabel has worked as Satan's assistant and closed herself off to men and trusting anyone. Now don't think that this has lead to Ysabel being meek and withdrawn in fact the opposite. Ysabel is a terror even for Satan with her foul-mouth and hot-temper that no one dares to cross her path unless they want to suffer great pain.
Ysabel is faced with the task of retrieving the 5 soul who have escaped from prisoner otherwise she will spend eternity burning up as she did upon her death before it drives her mad. Until she captures the souls each day she will experience her death with the duration increasing by one minute each day. To ensure she is successful Satan teams her up with is best warrior Remy, a half-demon who is beyond gorgeous and knows it as he is the biggest man-whore in Hell.
What happens next is a book full of laughs as Remy's constant sexual innuendos drive Ysabel crazy, but at the same time slowly breaks down the walls that she has erected around herself. Before long both start realizing that the impossible is happening; they are falling for each other and hard. The only problem is will either one be able to accept what is happening and embrace the chance of experiencing love for eternity.
Paranormal fans will love this book as it delivers on all fronts, humor, sexual tension, a gorgeous alpha hunk, secondary characters that you want to learn more about in following books and an explosion of passion that may be too hot even for hell.(less)
Seduce is the third book in the Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series by Felicity Heaton and having read all the books in this series so far this one is by far my favorite! The depth of the emotions that the characters express and the beautiful way the author has of describing the scenery had me lost in the pages into the wee hours of the morning.
I don't know where to begin to express how much I loved this book! Everything about it was perfection from the characters right down to the storyline. There is so much to say so let me first start off with the leads in the story Antoine and Sera.
As regular readers of the series will recognize Antoine is one of the owners of the theatre and brother to Snow (mmmm Snow I will get to him). A thousand year old vampire who keeps an emotional distant from others, except his brother, and leaves himself closed off from forming any attachments.
In Seduce I discovered the depth of his pain and the reason behind his coldness and I could not help to want to comfort him and make him mine. Although he presents a tough facade it is really an armor that he maintains in order to keep the ghosts that haunt him at bay. As the story progresses this beautiful man both inside and outside starts to allow that armor to crumble and readers are given the chance to see the true Antoine; a compassionate man who would sacrifice his own happiness for the ones he loves, capable of fierce devotion and a broken man who wishes to be able to find comfort, peace and happiness.
I have to say I love Sera! She is the type of heroine I truly enjoy reading about and love all the characteristics that the author gave her. Compassionate, tender, gentle, comforting, selfless, understanding, brave, courageous and most of all full of love to give to everyone around her. Sera has been watching Antoine for many weeks and deep down in her soul she knows Antoine is the vampire for her. Despite warnings from her sire that Antoine is not the type of vampire she should try to capture Sera can sense behind the strong, powerful, cold vampire a passion that is waiting to be unleashed and calls to her soul. She has never felt this way for anyone before and she cannot explain the magnetic draw to him.
The relationship that develops between the two of them touched my heart as Sera in her own way broke down Antoine's armor and showed him he is worthy of being loved. Now the sexy time between them was intensely hot, not only because of how talented Antoine was, but because of the deep emotional connection they had with each other, baring their heart and soul.
I have to say to all the Snow fans is you are going to LOVE this book! We get to see Snow quite a bit and hear him open up about himself; the depth of his bloodlust, the horror of it and how it has affected him. There were several scenes between Snow and Antoine that were so touching it made me cry at the depth of their brotherly love and devotion for each other. Another scene that was also very moving was with Snow and Sera together and her compassion in showing understanding and providing comfort and peace to both Snow and Antoine made me really love her.
I highly recommend this book to everyone because it will touch you and enthrall you on so many different levels that you will not want to the book to end. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, but most of all I would love to see more of Antoine and Sera and definitely Snow in his own book! After learning so much about him your heart will ache for him and wish for peace and happiness for him.
Felicity Heaton continues to mesmerize readers with her vampire tales that are full of vivid imagery, mystery and passion. Masquerade definitely encompasses all of these areas and more with characters who are so well developed that the reader at times feels they can reach out and touch them. I really enjoyed this book and even though I have not read the other stories in this series, I did not feel that I was missing any details from the previous stories so it can be read as a stand-alone.
I have to say I really enjoyed the characters because they had qualities about them that did not come off as flat nor irritating. Vivek and Sophis are both dedicated to protecting their bloodline, but are afraid to let the other know how they truly feel for one another which created a lot of misunderstanding and tension. The sexual tension that grew between them had the right mixture of anticipation and frustration that when the two finally came together the sparks flew off the pages. Come one who would not love a vampire who is strong, powerful, dedicated, loyal and gorgeous (Vivek is so yummy.
Not only was the development of the romance between Vivek and Sophis beautiful, but the twists that occurred in the story kept me glued to the pages. There were times I felt like screaming at the characters for not expressing their feelings for each other and the growing misunderstanding. However, the plot was very intriguing and had me guessing as to who was behind the circumstances that occurred and when I found out I was surprised. To keep from spoiling anything I have to say I was very surprised at what happened and intrigued as to how the results will impact Vivek and Sophis' bloodline in future storylines in the series.
Fans of Felicity's books will definitely enjoy this one and if you have never read her other books you will love this one as you will discover this author's ability to draw you into the mystery and intrigue of the story without distracting from the enchanting world she describes and the passion that develops between the characters.
This is the third book I have read by Adonis Devereux and I am complete fan. Each book that I read by this author the more I get drawn in and lost in the author's mythical world where rules, duty, status in society stands in the way of true love amidst the backdrop of greed, deception, betrayal and power struggles. The author continues to provide readers a lush world reminiscent of ancient Rome and the Lord of the Rings.
First I have to say I loved Melenius and Nevia. Both of these characters were so richly described that I was able to picture them easily walking through the halls or capturing each others' eyes across a room.
Melenius is a Senator of the Faror class, but he is also a Lorin, a powerful being who is gifted to control the elements in particular Air and Water. Although he was born and raised in the city of Nirrion and a Lorin, which makes him above humans, he is seen as an outsider. Melenius is tall, tanned, muscular, with shoulder length black hair and black eyes with a beard ( I picture Oded Fehr with a goatee like in The Mummy or Jason Momoa as Khal Drago), has a nice hairy chest and is described throughout the book as dominant and eludes confidence, masculinity and virility. With all these characteristics he also demonstrates tenderness, passion, loyalty and perseverance especially for the woman he loves, Nevia.
Nevia is the only daughter of the High Priest of Nirrion and belongs of the highest of the noble families among the Skenje people. Just like Melenius, she is also a Lorin, but of the Fire and Earth element which complements Melenius. Nevia is petite with pale skin, long white-blonde hair and pale frosty eyes, but what makes her stand out is that she is strong, fierce, intelligent, powerful, loyal and woman who will stand her ground for the man she loves and allows to dominant her.
Melenius and Nevia have been arranged to be married since Nevis' childhood and now at 18 she is swept away by her father in a very private marriage with no fanfare, no parade, no witnesses, and no celebration fit for a noblewoman. Regardless of the highly unusual wedding, Melenius and Nevia are drawn to each other not only on an elemental level, but something deeper. Melenius stated that he has always loved her from afar and Nevia is drawn to Melenius' masculinity and his dominance over her. Unfortunately their bliss is short lived as deception, betrayal and political intrigue tries to tear them apart.
Now I have to say this book was incredibly HOT (fanning self). The author did a fabulous job of providing extensive detail of Melenius' domination of Nevia during their lovemaking. Warning this book has some very hot bondage, anal sex, use of sex toys and M/M action (very intense). Readers will definitely need many cold showers because Melenius not only dominants Nevia but also the reader with his sensuality. I did not want the story to end and hope that we will see more of Melenius and Nevia in future books.
Having read Adonis Devereux's first book “Worth His Freedom,” I was very excited to read this book as it is set in the same beautiful world that the author created. I have to start off by saying that this is a real hidden gem that I wish more people discover this book and author. I became lost in the author's fantastical world that always reminds me of Games of Thrones and Lords of the Rings. A far away world where there are no cars, no modern facilities, but an archaic society full of rich rituals, loyalty and lives bound by obligations to one's position in life.
Being born a telepath Elemia was sent to a convent to prepare for the prospect of being the bride for the God-King which had been prophesied thousands of years ago that his true soulmate and wife will be discovered among an Ausir telepath. Up to this point not one potential bride has been the one, thus according to ritual these pure maidens who are not prophesied to be the one for the the God-King are sold as wives. Elemia on one hand is unique as an Ausir telepath in that she is plain and simple (the telepaths of the convent are known for their beauty) and is kept away from others.
One day when several chieftains and lords enter the city to obtain brides, Elemia is cast aside due to her plainness and is assigned the task to info the master of any humans who may approach the city. While keeping watch from her post she sees Abbas which sets stage for the encounter.
Abbas enters the castle on behalf of his step-brother ( a human) and chieftain to obtain a wife. However, once the High Mother sees Abbas, a half-Ausir/half-human she wants him executed and Elemia prevents it.
Both Elemia and Abbas are drawn to each other because the two see within each other the beauty that lives within them. Each knows what it is like to be treated like an outsider, never having anyone truly cared for them completely until now.
Abbas is drawn to Elemia for her inner strength, goodness, and self-sacrifice to protect him. Elemia sees Abbas as perfection and the notion someone so beautiful both inside and out being harmed pains her soul.
Both embark on a relationship that is full of barriers set to keep them apart. I completely fell in love with both of these characters for the self-sacrifices that they would endure for each other and the depth of their love for each other despite the odds against them. They saw no one else but each other as their soulmate, completing them and providing them happiness that has been deprived of them all their lives up to now.
As the story continued my heart ached for them because of the indignities and injustices that both suffered that I wanted to scream “please let them be happy!” at times. To add to that point, once I thought things were finally going their way a twist occurred in the story and once again my heart ached for their loss. This is a beautiful love story that grows from despair and heartache and demonstrates the power of self-sacrifice, perseverance and dedication that occurs with love. It was an emotional ride that at times I was in tears. This book had one of the most beautiful and touching endings I have read in a while that it may leave readers in tears (I became very choked up and cried at the end because of the beauty of it). I highly recommend this book.
