They started to be at war in the 70ties...but they live in the same world as us. With internet, florist, Wii, Disney movies, Sponge-fucking-bob, etc. And don't forget that the day-to-day life seems identical, with work, government and all the others authorities, we don't have any indication that this world was at war for 25 years and that very few women remained. I'm sorry but I can't see men (I'd include women too if it was not impossible in this case) not trying to control all the remained women and not create a sort of totalitarian regime.
Dante is the queen of the drama. Garreck is THE slut. Kelley is a bitch and the sum of everything I hate in a female in the mm genre. Gabriel lost a lots of points.
It's was surprisingly very easy for Peter to enter the house, house that belong to the owner of a successful security company.
From what I hear, there’s a price on your head from your old employers. Ho, I thought they killed all the bad guys?
Again the editing was very minimal.
As several peoples had already said, I hoped to see this writer improve but no, this exactly the same as before. ...more

I didn't love it, I adore it, fall in love and a lot of lust for all the personages. It's rare that I give 5 stars to a book (look on her shelves...yep only 31 times for 710 book's read) and a erotic's book? It's a premiere.

Too much of beating (how can Daniel be alive after all that?), too much sex (heavy on the dub-con and Stockholm syndrome), lack of plot, lack of realism (a lot of explication didn't make sense) and finally I didn't believe in the love (lust) story of Mace and Daniel.

Zane, you want to fuck Jiri. Don't try to justifie yourself into thinking that it's because you're altruist that you 'save' him. Nobody belive you.
Zane beat Pug until he is a pile of blood and immediately after Pug challenge him as the leader post?? First, he just lose and he is probably brused a lot, next he just lose, how can he think that he can win now? What's changed suddenly?
Zane had heard him and had agreed to consider Jiri a sex pet. Yes, he was still a pet. Yes, he was still a possession. But now, he was more than that, too.
Hmmm.....ummmm....no. The others too are sex pet, it's just that they didn't thinked to named it like that. You're the same than them. You're no better than them, even if you're Zane's. And putting yourself above the other it's not going to make you sympathetic in the eyes of the others pets.
Pet grow old (duh, just like everyones), what happen to them? They are not going to remain beautiful a long time but they're never going to be strong....!
And the tattoo...ummmmm....like a beast.... And if the pet change of keeper? What happen with the name on the tattoo?
He had just wanted to please Zane, to make him feel good. Zane had done so much for him. He had taken Jiri away from his horrible stepfather and given him a whole new life. Zane had taught him about being intimate with someone. He provided food, safety, and companionship.
I repeat. Zane wanted to fuck you.
When Zane had agreed that Jiri was a sex pet and not just a regular pet, Jiri had been elated.
Again, what's the difference?
He...why Zane did detached Larry? And why he don't check how much terrible is Jiri's wound?
The ending suck, big time.
Note: I put it on my sexcontent-nonconsent-present bookshelves because Jiri was-is in the impossibilities to say NO to Zane. ...more

(view spoiler)['He wondered what she’d look like spread open for him. An old museum he had once visited displayed some relics from Old Earth and among them was a beautiful, big shell. It was a coral-pink color and looked as smooth as silk to the touch. Were her cunt lips that same delicate shade? Would they have secrets like those hidden inside the shell? At the museum he had wanted to reach through the protectascreen to stroke the smoothness of the conch shell and now he found himself wanting to do the same thing to her, strip her naked, lay her down on the table in his cabin and feast on those succulent lips until she came screaming against his mouth.' It's not a bad book or bad written, it's just seems amateur to me.
Aubrey need a backbone and a personality transplant. Rapidly. He is annoying. I can't stand people that pass their time to protest or whinning, without ever doing something to change the situation.
I felt no pity for Stregoni in face of his 'relation' with Gille. I do not even want to try and understand people that let other human treat them like that. It's probably cold of my part, I know.
Ruthven's too much manipulator to be sympathetic. The attempt of love story with Aubrey lack completely of credibility, of realism.
As for Gille, the explication of his attitude do not completely excuse it. This allow to better understand him but he remain a cold, selfish bastard. What he do to Stregoni's horrible and I can't excuse that.
I like to know where my personage are from and the fact that the existence of the vampire was not explained, leave me unsatisfied. I think that with what happen in this book, that's something that was important to learn. I like too, to know the world in which they live in. No explication here about that too, (too much common of fantasy writer), not enough description.
