At one time or another most of us have dreamt of being a fairy tale character in a book or movie. My review can also be found @ Bittersweet Enchantment
At one time or another most of us have dreamt of being a fairy tale character in a book or movie. Whether you wished to be a princess in a tower awaiting your price to come and rescue you, or a evil queen bent on ruling the world. We all love the idea of having our happily ever after.
In the city of Beau Rivage fairy tales are real. The people of the Beau Rivage all are blessed or rather cused with one fairy tale or another. Vivian has the "Snow White" curse. We all know her story well. But what if the hired huntsman who is suppose to cut out her heart happens to be the love of her life. Hently and Viv have been friends all of their lives and now are in love. Hently knows what his curse says for him to do but is determined to find a way not to, for there is no way he could ever hurt the girl he loves.
Regina, Vivian's stepmother aka "The Evil Queen" is bent on killing Viv so she may be the fairest of the all. She will do whatever it takes to convince or force Hently to do what he is meant for, to cut out Viv's heart. Soon she becomes tired of waiting and decided to hire another huntsman to do the job for Hently. In the course of stopping the other huntsman from killing Viv, Hently disappears and is presumed dead. Viv is beside herself with grief and worry. Soon after an unexpected invitation arrives addressed to Viv to a underworld party which soon after lands her in a whole other world of problems. With turn of events, Viv now finds herself trapped in the underworld, like many others have come to be. Now Viv must find away to escape....but "someone" won't let her leave... To find out who and if she finally has her happily ever after, read the book!
First let me say I adored Kill Me Softly when I read it the beginning of 2012. When I found out that there was going to be another book in the series I was ecstatic! I knew I NEEDED to read it and ASAP. There was without a shadow of a doubt that once again I would adore the next book in the series. It was everything and more that I was expecting it to be. There was romance, mystery, adventure, and good vs evil. Tear you Apart was beautifully breath-taking and oh-so magical! I feel in love with the characters, the storyline and the enchanting world Sarah Cross crafted so perfectly around them. There were twists and turns I never saw coming. I laughed, cried, and cheered on Viv for she most definitely deserved her happy ending.
One other thing I really enjoyed about the book was how the characters from Kill Me Softy all made cameos in this book, and for the most part played much larger roles in Tear Me Apart than I expected them to. I felt they all blended well into the Snow White storyline and how the ending pans out.
Tear You Apart was so far my favorite book of this year. If you're going to read one fairy-tale retelling in 2015, TEAR YOU APART by Sarah Cross is absolutely the way to go. ...more

After learning more about her book I found the synopsis of Farsighted to be very interested so I decided to give it a go and read the book and I am very pleased that I did. Her book was surprisingly really good. I love that it is not your ordinary paranormal fiction novel. Farsighted takes the paranormal fiction genre to new levels with a fresh, entertaining, and fast paced novel you will love to read over and over again.
Alex Kosmitoras life has never been easy but full of daily challenges. Why? Because he is blind. Alex sees through all of his other senses with are more in tuned because of his loss of sight. Upon going into a new school he meets two girls Simmi and Shapri (both main character's of the book) ,and learns they all share similar "gifts". Alex will come to learn his gifts are more that he ever knew he had when he begins to see visions of the future. Alex is only now to learn that, Simmi the girl who has a major crush on may be in trouble. With Alex's new visions he keeps seing that Simmi will die and he will do anything he can to protect her from this horrible future he sees. Will his "gifts" save the girl he loves or will it be to late?
I found reading Farsighted to be quite refreshing. The book was unlike any other paranormal novel I have read. The whole concept of the book is very unique and like a breath of fresh air - Not your normal paranormal read (Vampires, Fairies, Angel, Werewolfs.) I really enjoyed reading about Alex and his gifts and I have never read a book where the main character is blind. That makes for a very fun, and entertaining book to read. All of the characters in the book both main and secondary were well thought out and very interesting with their own stories which gave Farsighted more depth and personalty. The plot within the book was very fun to read with twist and turns along the way which made for a fast paced read and had to keep turning the page to see what would happen. I could tell the author, Emlyn Chand did her research while writing the book to learn more about blind people and as well as people from India's culture. I would very much recommend Farsighted to the YA crowd as well as adults. If you are looking new to read I would so say to give this book a chance. You will not regret you did. ...more

The other was that I kept hearing so many great things about it and reading such amazing reviews on the book that I knew I would have to read it soon after it hit the book stores. I really liked the idea behind this novel and after reading more into what Fracture was about I went to pick it up to read so I could see for myself how good this book is... and I am very happy I did.
Review: The beginning of the book had a very strong hold on my attention. The plot was engaging and fast paced. Delaney who is the main character of the book falls through some thin ice while trying to run and catch up to her best friend Decker who is waiting far ahead. Delaney is sucked under the ice and soon to be rescued but was under the ice for far to long; 11 minutes. Delaney's heart and brain stopped working. She is dead, or was. Somehow Delaney came back and not even her Doctors can understand how she is alive and more so how she is doing okay. But Delaney is far from being okay because now some very unusual things begin to happen. She can sense or literally feel when someone is near her who is about to die. She does not know who to turn to about her new found ability, not Decker; ever know he is her best friend and the one who saved her from the ice. Decker seems to be tired up with "other" things (or someone). Delaney feels lost and depressed and does not understand what is happening to her until one day when she feel the "pull" of death near her but comes finds more that she thought she would...someone who knows exactly what she feels. Troy - who has the same abilities as Delaney although he is using his abilities in a different way.
I don't want to go into anymore details about the story as a whole otherwise I would be giving to much away. I was going through some ups and downs while reading Fracture. While I really loved and was fully immersed in the story I found myself having to stop reading a certain points in the book. The beginning of the book I felt was amazing but toward the middle it seemed to slowed down some and I lost interest during a few chapters. One of the things I did not really care for was how whiny Delaney was towards the middle/end of the book. She keep talking about how her life was so depressing and awful. Like she would have been better of dead. She is a very dramatic and hard character to like. She was given a gift somehow and is pissed off at the world for having to life and deal with it. I can understand the author's point of having Delaney feel this distraught and angry; she went thought a lot in such a short period of time but it turned me off and began disliking Delaney for being so whiny.
I will say I loved Megan Miranda writing style and how she was so detailed about the condition (ability) Delaney and Troy have. Her words are so expressive and give the novel such life. I so love to be able to get a clear image of what is happening in the book. I find it to be fun and more imaginative for the reader to read a novel and feel what the characters are feeling. Fracture is a great mystery with many twist and turns through-out the book. Although it was not as good as I thought it would be I did truly enjoy the story.
Final Thoughts: I would recommend the book to others after reading Fracture although as for myself being told to read it many times my friends I was hoping for a bit more and did not find that "wow" factor I was looking for in the book. All in all I would say I enjoyed it and I think to be honest I did love the ending the most. I did shed a tear or two. Very touching. ...more
Let me first start out by saying this book was given to me by the author Adrianne Ambrose for my honest revieMy Thoughts: ( I give this book 4 Stars )
Let me first start out by saying this book was given to me by the author Adrianne Ambrose for my honest review and I was not sure if I would like the book because I am more used to reading vampire books where the vampire falls in love with the heroine. Fangs for Nothing was not one bit like that and it was refreshing and very fun to read from a male POV. The book starts out where Herbie (a very insecure guy) and his friends Xander and Rini are going to different cities and states around the US looking for proof that Vampires do in fact exist. With no such luck they head home back to there normal lives only to find out one night at a party that there is a Vampire living in there home city all along. So they finally get to see a Vampire in which they were in search for but soon they will find out more than they bargained for. The Vampire, Vincent has been offering trades to the young teens in Cleveland, Ohio which Vincent calls "The Chosen". Herbie and his friends find this out and soon fall within Vincent's charms and start to consider his trade. But would you trade a few pints of your blood to be beautiful and loved? You soon find out that Vincent's offer was to good to past up, and one of Herbie's friends is now in trouble. This Vampire needs to be stopped, young teens are turning up dead and this being blamed as a suicide. Well Herbie knows better and is willing to sharpen some wooden spoons, buy tons of garlic and steal some holy water all to save his friend, and in hopes to rid his city of this evil.
I found this book to be such a fun, humorous, light read. The story-line was exciting, and very enjoyable. At one point in the middle of the book I could not stop laughing. I literally had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. Adrianne gives the reader of her book a fun mystery with great laughs along the way. I am so happy that I was able to read such a great book and found myself really enjoying the light-heartiness of the story-line. Herbie was such a lively character to read about and bring this book a entertaining and unique hero. I would recommend Fangs For Nothing to any age group, it would be a great little read for tween's. On a different note, the only reason I gave the book 4 stars and not the full 5 stars is because I did notices a few spelling errors along the way and a few sentences were a little off which made it a little harder to read. Other than that I really enjoyed this book and look forward to seeing more work from the Author, Adrianne Ambrose. ...more

Okay, so let me first start out and say I did not think this book would be this awesome of a read. I was not sure what to except when I started to read Chronicles of Fire. I was blown away by how much I really enjoyed this book. The story-line was exciting and the flow of the story was so perfect. I sometimes feel like a author can rush different parts of the book to hurry along the plot, but not this book. It was flawless and always keep me wondering what would happen next. I so enjoyed all of the idea's and the characters were so down to earth and real. Chronicles of Fire gives the reader a magical, fun, and tearful ride into a world where you never know what will happen next. This is the story of Jake who was left on a church's doorstep by his Mother. She felt she needed to keep him safe from the evil in her world. As Jake grows up now living with his adopted Grandparents he leads a normal live with his two Best Friends, Ben and Ellen. They are all on the fencing team at there school and Jake has hopes to become the state champion but little does he know that one day very soon his fighting skills will come in real handy. Later odd things start happening to Jake and will lead to one accident after another. But is Jake responsible for these weird accidents? Well, on his 18th Birthday he will soon find that out and who he really is and why Jake can produce fire with his mind. Jake has now only begun to understand his powers and learn there is a different kind of power out there, a very dark power, "The Order"....
I did not want to go more into depth about the book because I would be giving to much away. I highly recommend this book to any YA-Adult readers. Chronicles of Fire was such a pure delight to read and I loved the Author's style of writing, very smooth and creative. J.P McNeil has shown to be a brilliant writer and I so look forward to reading more of his work. If you are looking for a light, fun and magical read, try this book out. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you J.P. for asking me to read your book. I <3 It! ...more
I am very impressed by Kimberly Montague's first book in the Setenid Blight series, Altered. The plot of the book is a very fun read full of Romance, suspense, and difficult choices. A classic love story with a twist. Altered starts out with the reader's learning about a few of the main characters, Evie, her brother Harm and Evie's boyfriend of seven years, Jay. Evie and her brother Harm recently lost there Mother and Father and are dealing with being alone and having to take care of each other. When Harm decides he wants to join the special forces, he leaves Evie in Jay hands where they end up going back to a town they once lived in before. Evie is to live with her boyfriend's family for the time being and start school once she is settled in. On the first day back to school with Jay by her side she ends up meeting a guy that she feels a intensely electric connection with, Delvin. He is handsome, popular and Evie feels drawn to Devlin even before she meets him. With more and more encounters with Devlin, Evie is starting to fall in love with him even know she knows in her heart she is with Jay... Evie finds herself falling more and more for Devlin and less attracted to Jay. When her decisions lead to more that what she bargained for, Evie and Devlin now have there love put to the test. Something weird is going around and people including Jay are not acting like themselves, but rather something very evil. Evie and Devlin along with there friends now will fight there way to find safety and stay together in a town that has gone mad, but why?
I loved the style of writing that Kimberly Montague uses. It was a beautifully written book with wonderful descriptions of the people and events that take place during the book. I really enjoyed the heartfelt romance in Altered. A True love story with a twist in the end. I kept wanting for everything to be okay in the end but was left with a cliff hanger. Altered will never leave the reader disappointed It is fast and fun read with plenty of mystery and romance. The only reason I ended up giving it 3.5 stars and not more is because I felt during the middle of the book was all about the romance between Evie and Devlin and I wanted more of the mystery of what was going on in the town. In the beginning of Alter you learn about these weird things happening but the book does not go into it until much later. Other than this I really enjoyed reading Altered and would recommend the book to anyone over the age of 15. ...more

Wow, wow, Wow, this book is the whole package of greatness! The cover of the book is simply amazing, and the book itself was even better. I so fell in love with this book! Unlovable went above and beyond my expectations for this book. A few months ago I added this book to my TBR pile on Goodreads and a couple days later hear from the author Sherry Gammon asking me to read her book. I will saw I said yes to her asking me mostly what the cover looked like but little did I know I would find a pure treasure! This book will touch your heart. The story of a unlovable girl and a boy who came along to change that.
Maggie believes she is a unlovable nothing, and why not her Mother reminds her of this everyday. Maggie was a accident, she was never supposed to be born. Although her Mother Barbara kept the baby she treats her daughter, Maggie like dirt. Maggie grew up feeling unloved and she has always taken care of her Mother never the less. Maggie's mother is always drunk and never shows any kindness to her. Maggie still tries to have a life, go to school, make friends... one day the hottest guy in her school begins to take a interest in her and Maggie does not understand why.

Befriend her, and somehow see if her Mother is involved somehow. Seth and his partner Booker need to find a family of drug dealers in Port Fare. Maggie does not understand why Seth has taken a new interest in her. Who could like or love someone like her? Maggie soon will find out through out the course of the story someone does.
As Seth and Maggie get to know each other better they begin to have intense feeling for each other, but little do they know everything is about to change...
I found this book to just tear at my heart string. There is such wonderful passion and love within this story. Seth and Maggie's love story is so pure and beautiful. The book has such a great story. I love it when I can come across a book that just makes me feel good while reading it. Unlovable is simply one of those books. When I was done reading it, I wanted to pick it up and read it again. The author, Sherry Gammon has written a timeless love story. Her writing style is exquisite and graceful. I love each and every page of her book and would strongly recommend Unlovable to anyone who adores a epic love story. You will not be disappointed....more

Not because I personally have been homeless or felt I needed to live in the streets because of issues that have taken place in my life but I have a dear friend of mine who shall be remain nameless who is homeless and is living a daily hard life on the streets of the city of where I live. So when I saw this book all over Goodreads and book blogs I knew it was something I had to read. You just can't understand what a homeless person's life really is like unless you live a day in there shoes. Don't Breathe a Word does a perfect job at helping the reader feel what it would be like to be homeless and lost with no way out. When I first started reading about Joy I did not understand why she was choosing to leave her home and live alone on the street on Seattle. What could be that bad in her life that she felt she had to leave? But once you read more into the book and the back-story of the events that take place with certain people you begin to understand why Joy felt she had no other choice. My heard just went out for her and the unfairness of it all. That fact that Joy felt she had no one she could turn to. When she made the hard decision to leave and try to make it out on the streets it seemed like she still could not have been cut a break. Joy learned the hard way that things are not easy wherever she went. Dealing with her asthma was beginning to break her down. The story really began to pick up when another homeless boy named Creed came into the picture. Creed, along with his friends (who are also homeless) slowing helped Joy adjust to her new surroundings, even got her some new medicine after Joy's inhalers where stolen. I felt like each of the character's that Holly added to this book where so likable and had there own unique story about how they ended up on the streets. While reading I just felt like I was there with them and could relate to what they were going through, such a real and scary experience. A few parts of the book I just cried because I know these are real problems and the author did a beautiful job at capturing each event and experience the character's felt and went through. The main thing I also loved about Don't Breath A Word was is not just a book about abuse, sadness, making hard decisions, heartbreak, or surviving but about finding yourself, learning to be strong, and love! ...more

All I can say is this book was way different from what I am used to reading but in a good way. It is rare to come across a book that just blows you mind while you are reading it. Nightshade did just that. The story was amazing and so very unique. There was never a dull moment, the book always could hold my attention, with new twist and turns that will leave you guessing.
Nightshade is the second book in the Pioson Dairies series and while I did not read the first one I found this one easy to pick up on what happen in the first. The story begins with a Father and Daughter. The heroine, Jessamine finds herself lost without her true love, Weed. Weed felt is needed to leave her because of the past events that have happen and her Father is to blame. Jessamine has now has taken on a hatred for her Father and plots to be rid of him for what he has done to Weed, and herself. She now finds out her Father caused the death of Mother. Which now causes her to take revenge and turn against him in the worst possible way. Jessamine will use her knowledge from the poison diary to poison and kill her Father. Jessamine needs run away from this evil she has done and find her true love, Weed. Although she does not know where Weed is - she will travel away from that life and try find him only to come across more trouble along the way. Someone in her past (The Prince of Poisons) now leads Jessamine on a path not her own away from Weed. This darkness begins to take over her mind and heart are turns her into someone who evil. Through this darkness Jessamine still finds she does still haves a bit of love and compassion for others, but will it be enough to find the man she loves and not let her self be turned over to the evil of the Price of Poisons. Will Jessamine follow her heart or be taken over by the evil within her or will true love cure her poisoned heart.
Nightshade was a blast to read. I adore the story-line and the character's was so unique and well thought-out. I so enjoyed the time in history in which the book was based in. I love reading about the past and the way people were treated for being diffrent. Jessamine character was cast out by people she was with at one point in the book, naming her witch because she could use plants and herbs a number of things (including cures for the sick), which did not makes sense to them. I really loved being able read about the time in history where things like that happen so easily. My heart went of to her and all of the hardships she went thought to try to find Weed. As well as Weeds Journey to find Jessamine. He was such a strong hearted and loving character. Weed would go to great lengths to be with his true love. I adore this book for having such a beautiful love story yet a mix of tragedy between Weed and Jessamine. The Author Maryrose Wood is such a brilliant writer, her story is flawless, both Weed and Jessamine are exquisite characters and will make her readers wonder what will happen next. I would so recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story with a great mysterious plot and a breathtaking love story. ...more
