Let me first start out by saying that I have never read anything by author Kimberly Derting. I have had the first three book in the series on my book shelves for sometime now but had yet to read them. So once I heard about this tour I knew it would be a great opportunity to challenge myself to read the complete Body Finder series. After reading them all I just about kicked myself for not starting this series sooner. Yeah...I know was sure missing out on some amazing books. *smacks forehead against wall*
Dead Silence picks up pretty much directly after The last Echo ended. Violet has a very special gift. She can find dead bodies by sensing an imprint they leave behind after they die. She is also able to find who killed them but matching the same imprint or echo to the recently dead. Only now Violet has a imprint of her own. A music box playing the same haunting tune, over and over again.
If that wasn't enough to drive her a little crazy, Violet is being threatened not to leave the "special team" of gifted kids like herself or else! She wants nothing more than to stop working for them but unless she does, her family and friends will be harmed. With no other choice, Violet continues to help find dead bodies when no one else can in order to put them properly to rest by finding who killed them.
There is a new killer is town, called "The Collector". If Violet is not careful someone she loves might just be his next victim...
Dead Silence being the final book in the series will definitely leave the readers wanting more but more so being sorry to have to say goodbye to their favorite characters, Violet, Jay, Chelsea, Rafe, and all the other who make the series a whole lot of awesome!!!
Dead Silence for me was the perfect ending to yet another amazing book series. Being the last book in the series I felt that Kimberly Derting did a beautiful job at tying together any loose ends from the first three books. The one part that really made Dead Silence so interesting to me was learning more about Violets ability. The reader gets unique look into where Violet inherited her gift and from whom but more so a deeper understanding at what it really means to carry such a powerful gift. Also a major plus for me is the super sweet and kind romance between Vi and Jay. The way the author writes them together throughout the series is just so tender and perfect. They are two halves of a whole in every way.
I am so glad I decided to read this series. I have no clue why it took me so long to pick up the books but let me tell you without a doubt "The Body Finders" series is now one of my favorite series and will hold a place in my heart forever. If you have not read these books then you are surely missing out!(less)

All I can say is this book was way different from what I am used to reading but in a good way. It is rare to come across a book that just blows you mind while you are reading it. Nightshade did just that. The story was amazing and so very unique. There was never a dull moment, the book always could hold my attention, with new twist and turns that will leave you guessing.
Nightshade is the second book in the Pioson Dairies series and while I did not read the first one I found this one easy to pick up on what happen in the first. The story begins with a Father and Daughter. The heroine, Jessamine finds herself lost without her true love, Weed. Weed felt is needed to leave her because of the past events that have happen and her Father is to blame. Jessamine has now has taken on a hatred for her Father and plots to be rid of him for what he has done to Weed, and herself. She now finds out her Father caused the death of Mother. Which now causes her to take revenge and turn against him in the worst possible way. Jessamine will use her knowledge from the poison diary to poison and kill her Father. Jessamine needs run away from this evil she has done and find her true love, Weed. Although she does not know where Weed is - she will travel away from that life and try find him only to come across more trouble along the way. Someone in her past (The Prince of Poisons) now leads Jessamine on a path not her own away from Weed. This darkness begins to take over her mind and heart are turns her into someone who evil. Through this darkness Jessamine still finds she does still haves a bit of love and compassion for others, but will it be enough to find the man she loves and not let her self be turned over to the evil of the Price of Poisons. Will Jessamine follow her heart or be taken over by the evil within her or will true love cure her poisoned heart.
Nightshade was a blast to read. I adore the story-line and the character's was so unique and well thought-out. I so enjoyed the time in history in which the book was based in. I love reading about the past and the way people were treated for being diffrent. Jessamine character was cast out by people she was with at one point in the book, naming her witch because she could use plants and herbs a number of things (including cures for the sick), which did not makes sense to them. I really loved being able read about the time in history where things like that happen so easily. My heart went of to her and all of the hardships she went thought to try to find Weed. As well as Weeds Journey to find Jessamine. He was such a strong hearted and loving character. Weed would go to great lengths to be with his true love. I adore this book for having such a beautiful love story yet a mix of tragedy between Weed and Jessamine. The Author Maryrose Wood is such a brilliant writer, her story is flawless, both Weed and Jessamine are exquisite characters and will make her readers wonder what will happen next. I would so recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story with a great mysterious plot and a breathtaking love story. (less)

I feel completely in love with this book from the start. I am such a suckers for a sappy love story and Remembrance is just that with a twist. The book starts out where a new boy, Drew joins the school where Lizzie the female lead character attends. Drew Carmichael just transfers from a school in NY and meets Lizzie on his first day. Lizzie feels strangely drawn to Drew like she knows him from some where even know she has never meet him before. After that day weird things start happening to Lizzie. She has a project for class to draw a scene from Pride and Prejudice - But once Lizzie looks up from what she was drawing she was amazed of what she saw...(I won't spoil it). She starts to feel not connected to her long time boyfriend anymore and every time she is near Drew she feel so oddly more connected to him but does not understand why she keeps feeling this way even thought Drew is pushing Lizzie away. One of the main reason why is because he is dating Lizzie BFF, Chelsea. More and more Drew keeps away for Lizzie and she does not understand what is going on.... she feel like there is more than he is telling her. Besides all of this going on, now she is having flashes of memory from a past or of her past? Lizzie cannot be sure of anything anymore, why she is remembering things in the past that are not her memories and why she feels so drawn to Drew, but mostly why he acts so cold towards her. Well the answers lie within this amazing novel written by Michelle Madow. I adored this book and I think it would be a fast, fun and exciting read for any age group. There were parts where I just wanted to smack drew or cry for Lizzie. I loved being able to feel so many different emotions during the process of reading Remembrance. I just love stories of past lives they are so unique and refreshing to me to read. I really enjoyed reading it and I think my readers will to. I would love to applaud Michelle for such a brilliant novel and I am glad I had the opportunity to read and review your book for you! (less)

After being asked to read her book A Job From Hell by the author Jayde Scott I was excited to dive into her book and was pleasantly surprised by the story-line and Jayde's style of writing. I found myself being engrossed by the plot of this book, a very unique idea. In the beginning of the book the reader finds out that someone has placed a ad in the paper for a live-in house-keeper while although the main character Amber only thinks she is going to be cleaning someone home and some light cooking she comes to soon find out that she is working for a super hot vampire which is more that what she bargains for. It's one thing to live and work for someone like Aiden but to find out one mistake that happened in the woods near his mansion will end up leading to a Amber possessing a rare gift. In which the whole story progresses into a fun, fast and very entertaining paranormal love story. I loved Aiden's character and how the author had me feeling he was truly in love with Amber with no doubt even when Amber herself did not see how she could feel that way towards a vampire, much less someone she did not know well. I did find Amber a bit whiny. I know she was going though a lot, especially after being tossed into this whole new world of ideas and people that she never dreamt would be real but I felt like she was being a bit of a whiner, and I did not care for that to much. I did really enjoy that this book was not strictly vampires but had another paranormal creature added. This was able to hold my attention and enjoy reading more each day. I do love the ending of the book and that I know there will be a second book to enjoy and find out what will happen next. The ending leaves you at a fun cliffhanger dying to know what will happen to Amber, Aidan and their friends. I am very happy to have read such a enjoyable book and do my review. Jayde, I do ever so look forward to reading the next one, and find out what happens next. I would recommend A Job From Hell to anyone YA to adults. (less)
I am very impressed by Kimberly Montague's first book in the Setenid Blight series, Altered. The plot of the book is a very fun read full of Romance, suspense, and difficult choices. A classic love story with a twist. Altered starts out with the reader's learning about a few of the main characters, Evie, her brother Harm and Evie's boyfriend of seven years, Jay. Evie and her brother Harm recently lost there Mother and Father and are dealing with being alone and having to take care of each other. When Harm decides he wants to join the special forces, he leaves Evie in Jay hands where they end up going back to a town they once lived in before. Evie is to live with her boyfriend's family for the time being and start school once she is settled in. On the first day back to school with Jay by her side she ends up meeting a guy that she feels a intensely electric connection with, Delvin. He is handsome, popular and Evie feels drawn to Devlin even before she meets him. With more and more encounters with Devlin, Evie is starting to fall in love with him even know she knows in her heart she is with Jay... Evie finds herself falling more and more for Devlin and less attracted to Jay. When her decisions lead to more that what she bargained for, Evie and Devlin now have there love put to the test. Something weird is going around and people including Jay are not acting like themselves, but rather something very evil. Evie and Devlin along with there friends now will fight there way to find safety and stay together in a town that has gone mad, but why?
I loved the style of writing that Kimberly Montague uses. It was a beautifully written book with wonderful descriptions of the people and events that take place during the book. I really enjoyed the heartfelt romance in Altered. A True love story with a twist in the end. I kept wanting for everything to be okay in the end but was left with a cliff hanger. Altered will never leave the reader disappointed It is fast and fun read with plenty of mystery and romance. The only reason I ended up giving it 3.5 stars and not more is because I felt during the middle of the book was all about the romance between Evie and Devlin and I wanted more of the mystery of what was going on in the town. In the beginning of Alter you learn about these weird things happening but the book does not go into it until much later. Other than this I really enjoyed reading Altered and would recommend the book to anyone over the age of 15. (less)

Okay, so let me first start out and say I did not think this book would be this awesome of a read. I was not sure what to except when I started to read Chronicles of Fire. I was blown away by how much I really enjoyed this book. The story-line was exciting and the flow of the story was so perfect. I sometimes feel like a author can rush different parts of the book to hurry along the plot, but not this book. It was flawless and always keep me wondering what would happen next. I so enjoyed all of the idea's and the characters were so down to earth and real. Chronicles of Fire gives the reader a magical, fun, and tearful ride into a world where you never know what will happen next. This is the story of Jake who was left on a church's doorstep by his Mother. She felt she needed to keep him safe from the evil in her world. As Jake grows up now living with his adopted Grandparents he leads a normal live with his two Best Friends, Ben and Ellen. They are all on the fencing team at there school and Jake has hopes to become the state champion but little does he know that one day very soon his fighting skills will come in real handy. Later odd things start happening to Jake and will lead to one accident after another. But is Jake responsible for these weird accidents? Well, on his 18th Birthday he will soon find that out and who he really is and why Jake can produce fire with his mind. Jake has now only begun to understand his powers and learn there is a different kind of power out there, a very dark power, "The Order"....
I did not want to go more into depth about the book because I would be giving to much away. I highly recommend this book to any YA-Adult readers. Chronicles of Fire was such a pure delight to read and I loved the Author's style of writing, very smooth and creative. J.P McNeil has shown to be a brilliant writer and I so look forward to reading more of his work. If you are looking for a light, fun and magical read, try this book out. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you J.P. for asking me to read your book. I <3 It! (less)

After learning more about her book I found the synopsis of Farsighted to be very interested so I decided to give it a go and read the book and I am very pleased that I did. Her book was surprisingly really good. I love that it is not your ordinary paranormal fiction novel. Farsighted takes the paranormal fiction genre to new levels with a fresh, entertaining, and fast paced novel you will love to read over and over again.
Alex Kosmitoras life has never been easy but full of daily challenges. Why? Because he is blind. Alex sees through all of his other senses with are more in tuned because of his loss of sight. Upon going into a new school he meets two girls Simmi and Shapri (both main character's of the book) ,and learns they all share similar "gifts". Alex will come to learn his gifts are more that he ever knew he had when he begins to see visions of the future. Alex is only now to learn that, Simmi the girl who has a major crush on may be in trouble. With Alex's new visions he keeps seing that Simmi will die and he will do anything he can to protect her from this horrible future he sees. Will his "gifts" save the girl he loves or will it be to late?
I found reading Farsighted to be quite refreshing. The book was unlike any other paranormal novel I have read. The whole concept of the book is very unique and like a breath of fresh air - Not your normal paranormal read (Vampires, Fairies, Angel, Werewolfs.) I really enjoyed reading about Alex and his gifts and I have never read a book where the main character is blind. That makes for a very fun, and entertaining book to read. All of the characters in the book both main and secondary were well thought out and very interesting with their own stories which gave Farsighted more depth and personalty. The plot within the book was very fun to read with twist and turns along the way which made for a fast paced read and had to keep turning the page to see what would happen. I could tell the author, Emlyn Chand did her research while writing the book to learn more about blind people and as well as people from India's culture. I would very much recommend Farsighted to the YA crowd as well as adults. If you are looking new to read I would so say to give this book a chance. You will not regret you did. (less)
Thank you to Amanda and St. Martin's Press for my ARC Paperback copy.
My Rating: ★★★★
Wake happens to be my first Amanda Hocking novel read. Yeah, I know... what hole have I been living in?! I am not quite sure why I never read any of her books before but after reading Wake I now know I will be reading them all. This book was such a pure delight to read and about one of my favorite fantasy creatures, Mermaids or in this case Sirens.
The story begins with a girl named Gemma. She is a great swimmer with a passion for water. Swimming is her release, her enjoyment and friend. So living in a town near the sea, a large tourist attraction, is perfect haven for her. Gemma is a outgoing girl, with a nerdy sister and a geeky, yet hot boy next door. Everything is seemingly perfect. Until one day a set of three young, and beautiful girls; Penn, Thea, and Lex come to town. No one really knows who they are or where they come from. So one night when Gemma decides to go for a swim in her favorite spot she hears a beautiful song; one that seems to be calling to her. But deciding to follow the call turns out to be the worst thing she could do. Penn, Thea, and Lex are not of this world but are evil and selfish creatures of the sea. Now Gemma is forced to become one and join them or die. She now has to make a life altering decision that may end up costing her her life....leave town with the girls or stay and die. To find out what happens, what choice she made and who is affected by these events you will have to read the book.
Amanda Hocking is a born story-teller. She knows just how to make the reader feel fascinated and immersed in the world she created. The story was rich in details which has a vast effect on the book. I feel in love with all of the characters and by what defines them; makes them special. I could sense Gemma's desperation and feelings of confusion. Wake has such raw emotions and the story itself hold it own with a such a engaging aquatic tale. Amanda version of these mythological creatures; Sirens is perfect and leaves the readers captivated by them. I must say that even having read numerous books about similar subjects, WAKE pull right into the lead. I surely dislaike that I have to wait to read Lullaby which in the next book to continue the story but I am sure without a doubt it will be worth the wait. The only thing that made my decision to give the book 4 stars not a solid 5 was the pacing as well as the slight lack of character development in Penn, Thea and Lex. I wanted to know more about them and their lives as Sirens.
Wake is a fun, and great summer read. I hope everyone will buy the book and enjoy it as much as I did. (less)

I was given a copy of the book back in June and was so happy once I got it in the mail. The cover is gorgeous and plays so well with the concept behind the story. Right from the start when I heard about What's Left of Me on goodreads I knew I wanted to have a arc to read for a review on my blog. I was so intrigued by the plot and characters within. Addie and Eve's story presented itself to be most fascinating to me. I love the idea of one body sharing two souls. The concept is so very unique and refreshing. Author Kat Zhang has truly blown me away with her impressive writing technique and ability to make the story come to life on paper. This debut novel has topped by Top Ten list of favorite books. Two Soul's sharing one body...the story of Addie and Eva given life to by such an amazing new author.
Addie and Eva live in a world where humans are born with two soul's in one body. One is dominate and the other submissive. The submissive soul is supposed to fade away leaving the dominate one alone. Eva has always known that she is the lesser of the two but chooses not to leave her sister even though she should. This choice to live their lives together but never telling anyone else for this would be dangerous and go against all that is right.
When Addie/Eva meet a girl from school and her brother they come to find out that they are not alone in the secret they both share. The choices they soon will come to make have both Addie and Eva now fighting for there lives. Both of the girls now must bond together tighter than ever before in a fight to remain whole.
Oh. My. God! This book just totally rocked my socks off. I could not get enough! The world building in the book is so very flawless and rich with detail. Both Addie and Eva's characters are so genuine, and full of one life. Even though they share one body both girls have totally different character traits and identities. I loved Eva most because she always knew what she wanted and what she believed it even thought it was hard to. I found Addie to be much more of a worrier and questioning things she feared.
Beyond Addie/Eva the secondary characters really helped to bring the whole book together and really enriched the plot. Thus giving the story such a unique balance of adventure and charm. I love every page, every word! I can't wait to get my hands out the next installment to what will happen next! For anyone who may have mixed feeling about reading What's Left of Me once it comes out, DON"T! This book is too good not to be given the chance.
Thank you to HarperCollins for my ARC and Kat Zhang for writing such a beautiful story. (less)
Black City is one of the most highly anticipated YA novels of 2012 and if you ask me, one of the best! To be completely honest I was not quite sure I would enjoy the book. Even though the cover is breathtaking and the plot sounded unique I felt it may just be another vampire novel. I don't know about you but I am kind of tired of vampires in books. Yeah, big shocker right? I will tell you right now I was sadly mistaken. Black City IS so much more than another vampire book, by far. Author Elizabeth Richards takes "vampires" to a WHOLE new level, and then some. The story is set in a dark post-apocalyptic world were new creatures have emerged. Darklings (a vampire like creature), twin bloods (a mix of vampire and human) and of course humans. Humans of course are known as the superior race and live as such. This also mean they make the laws for the darklings and Twin-Bloods. Of course like any dystopian world the lesser race is not happy. They do not want to live under the human rules but to break down the very wall the separates them from each other.
A teenage human girl named Natalie Buchanan who is also the daughter of the Emissary lives by these rules and tries hard not to question what she knows to be right. Although soon something or yet someone will have her questioning everything she once believed in.
Ash Fisher a darkling boy, part-time "haze dealer" and all around hottie lives outside the wall and has never known anything else. Until the day he meets Natalie Buchanan and from that moment Ash's world and heart becomes alive. In a turn of events both of their lives will soon come to change. Even though they are so different Ash and Natalie will need to find the will to fight for what's right and above all else true love.
For me the story was a very dark and futuristic Romeo and Juliet tale of sorts. Both Ash and Natalie have very intense relationship and the character development was spot on amazing! I felt I really got to know both of them as individuals and a couple. Now while the main characters Ash and Natalie were great I felt the secondary characters could use a bit of work. I really wanted to get to know Day and Beetle more in this book than what I did. I can see that the author does leave room for them both to grow in her next installment in the series, or so I hope. The world building was outstanding as well as the amount of action within the story. I will admit there were a few slow scenes in the book, mostly toward the beginning. All in all Black City is a excellent read which I think most of you will enjoy. Elizabeth Richards did a beautiful job of turning the overdone vampire tale into something outstanding. Black City is by far one of my favorite reads of 2012 and I can't wait until next year to find out what happens next. (less)

You will have to read and find out!
Middle Ground in two words was:
The world author Katie Kacvinsky was so different and thought provoking. I keep wondering how life would be if we all never left our houses and did anything online. I loved Maddie, she was a dream to read about. The way she never gave up even when she thought that all was lost. She remained strong and determined to fight for her life and the lives of others. Justin is such a rare gem. The way he views life and tried to help Maddie see and understand the views really gave the books so much meaning. The more they worked together the more they feel in love. Their emotions were so raw and heartfelt. Katie did a beautiful job making the reader feel exactly what Justin and Maddie were feeling. Her words just flowed so gracefully over the pages. Awaken and Middle Ground really give us the readers such an exciting and unique story to be totally engrossed in.
If I could say the one thing I did not like or would choose to change in Middle Ground was the lack of background history. Like how the world ended up the way it did, and how these changes happen or where brought about. Other than thing I totally loved Middle Ground and can't wait to see what happens next for Justin and Maddie.(less)

I am a huge fan of scary books, I crave them, wishing there would be more of them set in a YA setting. I went into reading Unbreakable with very high expectations. I mean this is Kami Garcia were talking about, author of the Beautiful creatures series. So make no mistake when I tell you I was not disappointed to say the least. More like blown away by the AWESOMENESS that is Unbreakable.
As the story begins we meet our heroine, Kennedy Waters. Kennedy is super smart. She has always been able to remember everything she sees, a photographic memory. After a movie night with her Elle, Kennedy comes home to find her Mother dead in her bed. Her cat, Elvis lying on top of her Mother's body. The police claim she had a heart attack but soon Kennedy is about to find out that is not the case. While deeply saddened by the sudden lose of her Mother, Kennedy decides to move into a boarding school, far away from her family's home as possible. But something is about to change all of that and more so her entire life is about to be turned upside down. While sleeping in her bed she is awakened by a sudden pressure bearing down on her chest. When she opens her eyes, she find her cat Elvis trying to steal her breath, or more precisely her soul. From out of nowhere, two young boys around her age bust through the door and shoot Elvis with a gun, making him flee. A very scared, Kennedy is about to meet the boys who saved her life, twins Jared, and Lukas. First her Mother dies suddenly, then she is almost killed herself. Nothing is making sense, but when she finds out her Mother's death was not in fact a heart attack but a murder by a vengeful ghost, her whole world and everything in it is about to change.
A small group called Legion has been sent to protect mankind by eliminating a very evil demon who has been freed many years ago. This demon has the power to send ghost's to do his bidding and has kill all of them members of the Legion, Kennedy's Mom included. Now Kennedy must learn to accept her birthright and take her rightful place as a new member of this group.
To find out what happens next, Read the book!
This spine tingling creepy tale had me reading long past my bedtime. I was totally hooked from page 1. There is something so fun, and entertaining about the supernatural. Growing up I hated scary movies and books. I would close my eyes "sometimes peaking" when ever my Dad would watch moves, like the Exorcist or The Shining. Now all grown up, I adore those types of movies, and books. I love being scared, it's such a rush. This book totally did that for me. I was mesmerised by the story. There was never a dull moment. Unbreakable was action packed, and thoroughly creeped me out with each page. The storyline itself, the race to save the world from utter disaster, I feel is what really make this book such a great read. One other aspect of the story I loved was the building romance between Kennedy and the twins. Yes, I know what your thinking...another love triangle. Ugh! While, I myself hate love triangles (of course it depends on the book) between the characters for some reason this one worked. For me it just so happen to fit into the story-line perfectly. I found myself actually rooting for one of the twins over the other.
All in all, Unbreakable truly did live up to my high expectations. I think the only thing that kind of bugged me while reading was the plain disregarded of leaving her friend, Elle in the dark. I feel Kennedy could have made it a point to call her friend, and more so her aunt to let them know she was okay, even if she couldn't truly explain what was happening.
There's no doubt about, Unbreakable was one high addictive epic read! Perfect for Halloween or for those who love a good scare. Author, Kami Garica is a born storytelling, she really knows how to spook her readers. I can't wait to find out what happens next! (less)
