Ok, so I just finished reading Crow s Row and I am shocked to say the least!!! After my initial reaction to cry my eyes out, I became really angry, and then just wanted MORE of this incredibly dark sexy story!! I definitely give it 5 stars!!!!
Julie Hockley’s debut novel is a dark and powerful riveting love story about Emily a very innocent college student who witnesses a murder by a young crime boss named Cameron. Kidnapped to Vermont where she slowly starts to glimpse into the real Cameron and not the crime boss everyone else sees. But in Cameron’s world falling in love can be a very dangerous thing and he’ll have to make a decision at the end that will most likely end up destroying them both.
I was captivated from the very beginning and would not, could not put this book down. Each chapter left me wanting immerse myself more and more leaving me at times open-mouthed with the surprises that were in store. I was so heart-broken by the end of Crow s Row that I could not stop crying! My mom seriously thinks I might be wrong in the head for crying over a boyfriend that isn’t mine and non-the less is even a crime boss. LOL!!! Hey! Even, I myself think WTF?!? But I guess sometimes love is like that. In that, you can’t choose whom you love, even if that person is a really bad person. (But that can be up to debate, since Cameron isn’t really a bad person at heart he has just made really bad career choices.)
I’m really hoping Julie Hockley plans to write a sequel because you seriously cannot leave a book with that type of ending and NOT have a sequel in mind. But if she does have a sequel in mind (*crossing fingers*) that was a great way to end the book!! (view spoiler)[ Hey who knows?....Maybe in the sequel some sort of kiss-ass Emily would ally herself with POPS to secretly take down the people responsible for Cameron’s ‘death’?...I would definitely love to see that or just anything that involves a sequel!!! I would even love to see more of Cameron’s POV!! (hide spoiler)]

Wow, this book was really good!!Like really!!LOL…Want definitely takes your emotions on a ride. At first I thought I knew what would happen but towards the end I was intrigued because things weren’t panning out like I expected. I could not figure what in hell would happen next for the life of me, and Stephanie Lawton sure surprises us. But life is like that; you never know how your story will turn out or who will come out your hero in the end…. This story showed me that.
The ending was not what I would usually expected, it didn’t take me be surprise either, because I sort of hoped for it I the back of m¥ mind but didn’t really expect it to happen. (I might not make too much sense but it will once you read Want and come to care for Julie after all she went threw it was for the better.)
Stephanie Lawton you seriously left me speechless with your ending and you cannot believe how relieved I am that it ended like that!!...I seriously cried of happiness. When the POV changes at the end for a moment I was at first confused and not really sure what was happening but when I figured it out, I was beyond relieved!! In a sort of way to gives all underdogs out there hope that there is still hope for them…. I’m glad that Julie ended up with someone that really appreciated her loved her and understood her, like she deserved and wasn’t a coward when it got tough. Someone who despite all her issues didn’t see her for anything less than the extraordinary person she was. THANKS FOR A GREAT READ!!!

I’m not even sure how I came about this book, I just know I was browsing around the goodreads lists one day and BAM!!On The Island surfaced! At first I didn’t think I would like it because it reminded me of Castaway and that movie seriously depressed me. But, after reading some reviews and checking out the ratings, I gave it a go.
I don’t know why in the world I doubted this book, because I loved it and it was a great read. I might not be placing it in my favorite-books shelve but all the same it was great. Nothing about the events that occur in On The Island to me felt forced. I liked how Tracey Garvis-Graves incorporated some world news events into the plot.(view spoiler)[(e.g. their plane crash right before 9/11 and the tsunami that helped them get rescued) (hide spoiler)] They did not at all feel forced and paced well with the story.
Moving on to the romance part of On The IslandAnna and T.J.’s relationship was not at all perverted, (like one would think when reading about a 30 year old woman and a 16 year old boy stuck on a deserted island.) but actually romantic. (view spoiler)[ Nothing happens until T.J.’s 19 and that is pretty legal! (hide spoiler)] Nothing seemed forced since they gradually fell in love and didn’t try to take advantage of each other when they were vunurable or jump each others bones when one fell in the mood.
It surprises me that this is Tracey Garvis-Graves first published book since it was so well written that it felt like it could have been one of many. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

This book had me hooked just on the blurb!....I did not see the plot twist coming until a few sentences before the big blow and have to say i just ate it up!...I wasn't really appalled in the tiniest bit by the twist (view spoiler)[(Read Forbidden and this book won't seem so shocking!) I always enjoy books that are written in guys POV and was not in the least bit disappointed with Relatively Honest's style. I loved Daniel's internal banter and and he really wasn't a bad guy at all, i didn't even .....Now i really really want to meet Daniel Ravelstoke....marry me is more like it!!!

Ok, so this book is about cynical, sarcastic, but loyal Bianca Piper and how she ends up having a 'closeted-enemy's-with-benefits' relationship ( you know what i mean!!) with cocky, wominizing, manwhore Wesley Rush who she loathes, especially after he calls her 'the D.U.F.F.' (Designated-Ugly-Fat-Friend)!!!....Since things aren't going so great at home Bianca decides to use Wesley to her advantage seeing as he IS a playboy and she is 'Duffy' to him, to get the rush she needs to escape her problems even if it's for at least a couple of hours. As she sees it, she won't get hurt since for her this only a coping mechanism and to him it's the only way he knows of having a good time. It's a-no-strings-attached relationship (and we all know howthose end up.) But "No matter where you go or what you do to distract yourself, reality catches up with you eventually," and indeed it does. Bianca realizes this, and decides she can't keep things going with Wesley, only this time she is trying to escape Wesley himself.
I read this book in a day....I ended getting this huge head-ache afterward but it was TOTALLY worth it!!...I don't that i absolutly loved this book just because it some intense scenes (ahmmmm!!) between Bianca and Wesley but because of what she was going through. Her hater smart-ass attitude was all a mask she always had to put on becasue she didn't want to get hurt or show people how much she was hurting. She didn't want anybody finding out and kept it in until she couldn't anymore.
I can see why she took the road she did to cope with her problems, it let her feel a high even if the first cpuople of times she felt digusted withherself, but the out-come for was much more greater. I guess she also wanted to feel like she wasn't the ugly one in her group, that evn if she was 'the D,U.F.F.' even a play-boy like Wesley could want her. I know the way Bianca copes with her probems isn't the best way, but seeing all the other destructive ways she could have taken, (drugs, run-away, become a slut, which she wasn't...it wasn't like she was giving it up to the whole school) i feel this one was in some way more safer? ( even with all the protection they were having...it happens!)....I doubt that not one person in the world has never found that sex helped them cope with at least one problem, even if it was for a little while.
This book and a couple of others have become quite the refreshers in the common YA genre (where as these books should more likely be in a YA-MA genre,) since they are a tad more in tense...and i like intense!!...So if you're looking for a YA boo that has a little more check-out . It really is an awesome book, funny, shocking and gets you all giddy and flustered like if you were Bianca
TAlk about chick-lit guilty-pleasures!!!..How many times did i NOT find myself wanting a guy like Lucas!!!For all his rebel-bad-boy attitude, he is equally sweet and caring and not to mention he is the lead-singer of the band!!!

Jillian Dodd you are brilliant!!!...You're writing that is, because i wasn't that crazy about the cover art!!...So, whoever is reading this (and i've said this before)...DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!especially this one!!!.Really!!!...I absolutely loved this book, especially her writing style!!...Not the usual way authors write i felt like, i myself can write a book! That Boy was such an incredibly fun read, that i didn't want it to end!!...Right from the first sentence, i was hooked!! (You arrogant son of a bitch,” I say. Well, maybe I growl it.)...HA!...Right then there i knew i was gonna love this book ( I like it when the main character speaks her mind un-censored!!...especially in this day and age where,we, girls are as bad-mouthed as boys)...I loved both boys equally and was so happy at the end by JJ's decision.Jillian Dodd made it out so that there wasn't any heart-break when JJ made her decison, and i was glad for that since both boys were her BFF's and it would have been awful to see that friendship torn at the end.
I have to admit it wasn't that realistic, but that is the beauty of this book!!...That's the whole point of writing fiction. But hey, it makes you want it to be real and gives you the little itty bitty hope that makes you say, 'hey, that could possibly happen, in a not so distant alternate universe'. (shrug) hehe :)...I cannot wait for Jillian Dodd's sequel 'That Wedding'...i will be waiting impatiently until the day!!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more
First of all....I cannot believe this book was FREE,especially after reading it!!!!...I honestly thought i wasn't going to be able to find another booFirst of all....I cannot believe this book was FREE,especially after reading it!!!!...I honestly thought i wasn't going to be able to find another book quite like Beautiful Disaster, but i was wrong! S.C. Stephens's writing is incredibly smoldring sexy!!I seroiusly wanted to take a flight to Seattle to go check out the D-Bags!!LOL...I have to admit it was quite long for any e-book i have ever read (well over 500 pages), and at certain times i felt S.C. Stephens dragged the story a bit, but it was well worth it!!
I don't think it comes much to anyones surprise (if you've read the book description and have an imagination) that Thoughtless essentailly about an affair. Plain and simple. Keira and her extremely hot and sweet aussie boyfriend, Denny move to Seattle to start a new life. But due to infortunate circumstances in their new life, they have to part, and feeling confused and lonely, Keira turns to Kellan, the locals rock-star. At first things start off friendly and innocent, but pretty soon lines start to blur until one night everything changes, and change isn't always easy to handle.
This book had me in an emotional roller-coaster!...I didn't know who to route for, Denny or Kellan? This book made me think a lot about why sometimes people get involved in affairs. I honeslty always saw it as black and white. Why would you cheat on someone who is devoted to you and loves you? But as i read this book, i could see there are a lot of gray areas concerning this matter. I could see why Keira was so torn between both of them. While she didn't want to hurt Denny , and wanted to brake off the affair with Kellan, she also didn't want to hurt Kellan either after seeing how much he loved her and need her. She also couldn't help the fact that she did fall in love with and needed him all the same. But if she decided to stay with Kellan she would surely destroy Denny who she also loved...so what do you do in circumstances like this? How do you choose? (view spoiler)[Sometimes you can confuse comfort for love.(Dude, did i just say that?...G_d i sound so freakin' cheesy!) (hide spoiler)] Oh, and i have to say Griffin was my favorite guy apart from Kellan in the D-Bags...I know he was a total douche-bag , staying true to their band name but he was un-nervingly funny!!Sometimes i couldn't believe the things that came out of his mouth....I know i i have to be stereotyping here, but Griffin is exactly how i picture guys from a ''local rock-band' to be like.whta a horn-dog!!! Now on to Effortless!!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

This book was really short, I practically read it in half an hour, not that I was timing myself but I guess that's a good estimate. I liked the way the main character expressed herself. She pretty much expressed herself like a typical I-don't-know-what-I-want hormonal teenager, she pretty much talked and bought like me. Not that I'm a raving-hormonal teenager, i'm not.LOL. The only problem I had was that she kept repeating herself on how she thought 'Riley' hated hated her. When it was obvious he always avoided her because he pretty much was ready to jump her pants at any given moment eventhough she was taken. And for a girl who thinks this guy hated her so much, she couldn't stop talking or thinking about him and fantasizing about him. It was soooo obvious to everyone around her and she was just so aloof. Another thing I didn't get was she always seemed to be in and mood at work, like somthing happend to her that got her mad. That's how the book pretty much starts off, with her pretty much going ' to hell with everybody!' and I never understood why. Did she not get along with her co-workers, not like the work? Neve really got that. The ending was horrible!! (view spoiler)[ she didn't even wait a day to get over her break-up before she pretty much hooked-up with 'Riley' she literally waited like 5 mins and then asks the guy, ' so your like my boyfriend now?' and he goes 'of course.'...who does that? Even after she babbled about how a player he was. (hide spoiler)]
You expected to see a little more of their relationship but no, they just kiss and BAM!!! The end. I guess you'd expect this kind of writing for $0.99. I know better for next time

Like the beginning, kind of threw me off because it's starts with 'Romeo, & 'Juliet' and their kiss and who Jen (Juliet) is so overwhelmed with the kiss and blah blah blah. Havent they been practicing this for a while now? And now suddenly they feel jittery when they have to kiss?...Even if the director had told them to hold off the kiss until almost the very end, it would still feel awkward during their rehearsals wheneve they had dialogue together. Why not start from the beginning when they first were cast and and they felt knowing that they would have to eventually kiss. And don't get me started about he end. Jennifer Laurens drags their confessions of mural liking that you'd expect a better ending, but no. It was so freakin' brief that I actually turned the page just to mak ensure that it was the end. It didn't even feel like the end, and she left a couple of questions hanging. I doubt their will be a sequel so, why not wrap everything up?i should have guessed that this was a crappy book just by looking at the cover. The guy isn't even that handsome, and doesn't even look like he would be in high-school., and the girl, to me she looks like she woke up from a hang-over.Her eye-liner looks kind of washed up. That's my opinion anyways. Weren't they supposed to be oh-so-hot!?!?!?...more

Hmm...what do i think?....I think Jamie McGuire is a freakin' genius!! This book just hooked me right from the cover! I have to say,the cover is sorta provocative and cool (to me anyways LOL). But, at the same time it'sss...i wanna say gross but i guess it's not so much gross as it is messed up. It's pretty sexy but then you get alook at that tongue and your like 'WTF?!? Dude, that's messed up!' In my opinion, i think it ties in very well with the overall story for Beautiful Disaster, but i'll get into that later. I enjoyed this book immensly! You wouldn't believe how incredibly addicting this book is! Some other reviewer said this book was like CRACK, i thought she was exaggerating, but she was NOT!...I tend to start to read around 10pm and end up falling asleep around 12:30ish.(To me that's a pretty good amount of reading time and i end up relaxed enough to fall asleep.) NOT the case with this book!! As i kept going deeper and deeper into the book, i found i couldn't stop reading, needng to get MORE and MORE as i continued reading. I kept promising, "After this chapter i am going to sleep....Okay, maybe just one more and definitley for sure i am going to sleep. I HAVE to!" This kept going up until like 3am, and even after i fell asleep, the first thing i did when i woke up was dig right in. I hope there isn't any rehab for book addicts because i LIKE IT!!!LOL
(view spoiler)[Beautiful Disaster is in Abby Abernathy's POV.The book pretty much starts with her meeting smoking hot rebel-guy Travis Maddox (even his freakin' name is HOT!) in an illegal underground fighting match. She is seriously turned on by this guy, eventhough she is reluctant to admit it because Travis is exactly the kind of guy and influence she trying to run away from. She pretty much fails to keep him away and ends up accepting to be his 'friend' and sorta moving in with him for a perfect 'understandable' reason. In her defense,it wasn't Abby who changed the rules of the game. Who would have thought it would be Travis, the guy who all girls begged him to take to bed, known to be only a one-night-stand kind of guy, to be the one chasing after Abby. He always founf one way or another to be with her, either tricking her to go eat out with him (something he never did with any other girl, EVER!) ,being her tutor, walking her to class, and even going to the extreme of making a bet so she'd have to stay a whole month with him in his apartment in his bed! He is very gentlement-like about the bed thing by the way, never trying anything in it (keyword: IN IT.)If your wondering how she could ever accept to sleep in that bed after all the 'skanks' he's bagged, no worries he clarifies to her he only 'bags them in the couch, never in bed. Still gross but at least it's thoughtful of him (i guess, in a weird way.) Sometimes i would feel sorry for him because you'd notice that his feelings toward her were growing and growing fast and Abby didn't really see it or better yet acknowledged it at first, believing he just wanted to get in her pants since she was a challenge for him.
But as the month she has to stay with him progresses Abby starts to let the lines of their so-called 'friendship' blurr a little, but still not sure getting inlvove with Travis is a good idea (he is a commitment-phobe), since she is trying to start a new life away from the mess-up one she used to have and didn't move to start it up again with someone like Travis. But all the progress made vanishes when Travis messes up their progresslike everyone was cautioning her he would. Travis regrets what he did and is very dissapointed when Abby acts indifferent toward his actions, but he still can't get over her and pretty much realizes he is on love with her Abby only feels she's confirmed that she is only a challange to Travis and they should only be friends. At the end of their bet (the last night they would be room-mates), Abby decides to sleep with Travis so that she can prove to him that he isn't in love with her but only thinks it since she has yet to sleep with him thinking this is the only way for Travis to get over her.(Now who is the messed one up?hmmm) Travis thinks that Abby has finally accepted to be with him and lets her now this only to shock her speechless at this revelation. And the only logical thing for her to do is?.....flee once he fell asleep, still thinking that he's going to change his mind and forget her.
Totally not the case, he is ballistic the next day when he realizes what she did, telling her that she is wrong of she thinks that he is going to forget her. From here on out you realize how little by little Travis had become 90% dependant of her almost to the point of being obssessed with her. Here is a guy who took girls for granted pretty much telling Abby that he can't even breath without her. It shouldn't be a surprise that eventually Abby gives in and she tries at relationship thing only to find that again Travis finds a way to make Abby, realize that they are not good together because they are too dysfunctional. They both hurt each other without really wanting to.Their relationship has a lot of ups and downs especially the downs, and eventually they manage to sort their sh***t out and try to be together
The relationship between Abby and Travis had a lot of up and downs and a lot of tension, which i think is what life is made of, UP and DOWNS and TENSION. Not all relationships are easy and this book shows you this, you have to work them out when you love someone even when all tell you it's never going to work. This were i say that the cover (this version anyways) ties well with the book because it shows you the beauty of love but all so that it isn't always pretty. Love isn't perfect but worth it when you meet someone you love and Jamie McGuire lets you know this in this incredibly addciting book about love and how when you meet the one you can't give up on them.(that's my take, anyways)...for all i know Jamie McGuire could be trying to tell you people in love do stupid things so what out!LOL

I have to say The Boyfriend Thief is a gulty pleasure for me. I ended up reading this book while it wasn't in my currently-reading-shelve while i was suppose to be reading something else. Mind you i tend to do this all the time and always felt kind of guitly afterwards, but then discovered i'm not the only one...but this is all besides the point, i tend to ramble on sometimes.HeHeHe...back to the review------>The Boyfriend Thief is not one of the best YA-contemporary material i've read but it also wasn't the worst. Some parts where kind of cheesy for me and the characters could use more work, but I still very much enjoyed it. Iguess that has to do with me being a helpless sucker to teen romance especially if it's a fast read and cheap! Plus the plot is pretty clever.... Trying to end things with your boyfriend but don't want to end up being labled the b***ch who broke his heart?----> Hire a boyfrind thief!!!!...That way HE breaks up with YOU and your off the hook!!
