All her life Abigail has had one goal! To kill Sundown Brady...she's always believed that he was the one who murdered her parents. Since thier death, All her life Abigail has had one goal! To kill Sundown Brady...she's always believed that he was the one who murdered her parents. Since thier death, she's been raised by Apolites( Beings made by Apolo, who killed his mistress and son....so in turn he cursed them all to die on their 27th Birthday). So they've poisoned her mind into thinking that all Dark Hunters are to bad and they need to be destroyed. Unfortunately, she kills the wrong person...thinking he is a Dark Hunter and sets off the Apocolpse.
William Jessup "Sundown" Brady, was a gunslinger and hitman...an outlaw. Now that he's found his one true love...Matilda. He's decided to stop all his wicked ways and become a respectable man, so he sells all his guns and goes off to marry Matilda and start a new life. Unfortunatley for Jess, his best friend Bart see's it as his opportunity to kill Jess and take the large bounty on his head. Jess vows that he will have his revenge on Bart and he gives his soul to Artemis...now he's a Dark Hunter.
In present day, Jess has been transfered to Las Vegas. He's been alerted that theres a human leading a band of Daimons, knocking off Dark Hunters. Once he runs into them he's surprised that its Abby. He thought she was dead. And even more confusing than the fact that she's the one leading the Daimons...is that she's trying to kill him and she's got some supernatural strength. He takes her down and wisks her away back to his home, when he finds out that Abby has killed someone she shouldn't have and has started the Apocolpse. Now he had to protect her from some angry Gods from another Pantheon, who wants her dead!
It was really good to be back with the DH crew!! I loved everything about this one. Now there's a new Pantheon in the mix and I loved it. Can't wait to see how all of it will tie into the other things that are going on in this world. Sherrilyn Kenyon is amazing and can do no wrong IMHO!!
If I could give it more I would!! I LOVED it! This one had the essence of previous DH novels! I was quite dissapointed in No Mercy (Dark-Hunter, #19)...it just didnt have the same feel to me! But Retribution did not dissapoint! All I can say is wish I we coulda found out whats going on with Jaden and with Nick and The Bitch-Goddess....but Im willing to be patient! This contribution left me well satisfied and anxious to find out more about the Guardians and the Native American tie into all of this! Sherrilyn Kenyon has this knack for making you fall in love with the characters. I can honestly say that I fell in love with this series all over again. Had no incling that it was even possible!! GOD....I LOVE The Dark Hunters Series!!!!!!!!!!!...more
Ok...In this next installment of The Lords of The Underworld Series we follow Strider the smart-ass and jokester of the bunch a.k.a...Keeper of DefeatOk...In this next installment of The Lords of The Underworld Series we follow Strider the smart-ass and jokester of the bunch a.k.a...Keeper of Defeat. Of course he has to win everything or else his demon will cause him extreme pain. The Lords are still searching for the artifacts which will lead them to dimOuniak—Pandora’s box. Because he gave up the cloak of invisibility to the Unspoken Ones's...in exchange of Haidee, now the Lords are short two artifacts instead of one. Strider's still being stalked by Kaia....a harpy and sister to Gwen, Sabin's(Doubt) wife. He doesn't want anything to do with her since she always challenges his Demon.
Kaia The Dissapointment...has been plagued with that name for 15 hundred years by her people. She made a grave mistake at the Harpy Games, when she was just 15 years old and caused a lot of Harpies to die. So now that her family has been invited to the Harpy Games after all this time....Kaia must bring home the gold or die. Unfortunately, the 1st prize is one of the artifacts...The Paring Rod. So Kaia has a decision to make. Does she help her consort and bring more shame on herself(and a death warrant) or does she take the gold and lose her chance at forever with Strider?
Of course, I loved this addition to the series! I absolutely adored Kaia...she was fierce and sexy and she did whatever it took to snag her a Lord!! She knew without a doubt that Strider was hers and made it very clear that she would have him. Strider on the other hand was not so receptive. He tried pushing her away as much as he could but eventually he succumbed! It was great to see the two of them banter with each other. In the beginning Strider believed he didnt want someone like Kaia. One that would challenge his Demon time and time again. But he soon realized that a life like that would be bo-ring! We got a more in-depth look into the Harpy world which was awesome! Those Harpies are a fierce bunch! I also had some serious LOL moments with Kaia and Bianka!
"Lysander, did you see this?", Bianka turned and lifted her shirt, showing him--and everyone else--the panties she wore. They were neon-green with the words Property of Lysandy scripted across the ass.
Lysander stood, as if to fly over to her, then caught himself and plopped back down. "Sweet Deity."
"Your woman wears underwear out in public," Sabin said. "Must be nice. How'd you manage that little miracle?"
"Only the Deity knows."
We also, got to see William on his quest to kill Gilly's parents, Paris and his search for Sienna(I cant wait!!!) and Kane(Disaster)....you'll just have to read to find out what his deal is! What I will say its pretty damn good!!
All in all, I had a great time with my Lords!! Strider and Kaia did not disappoint one bit nor did Strider's cockiness:
"I love you," she told him. "Thats because you're smart. Further proof--look who you ended up with. Me, rather than that shithead Paris."
Its amazing to me how each book gets better and better and each Lord earns a place in my heart....as well as the heroines that keep them in line!! Kaia has become my all time Favorite though(sorry Anya)!...more

Ok...here goes. It kinda got a little slow at parts for me but not too much. I loved Lucan in the begining. But towards the middle he was so mean to GOk...here goes. It kinda got a little slow at parts for me but not too much. I loved Lucan in the begining. But towards the middle he was so mean to Gabrielle. As the story went along, I came to understand his surliness and his need to push her away. I was glad that they finially got together. I especially loved some of the humor between the brothers. Like when Lucan finally told his brothers that he wanted to take Gabrielle as his mate...funny! What I don't understand is how this series compares to the BDB. Being a huge fan of the series, the only similarities was the fact that they were "brothers", they were vampires and they were in New York.
Now being that I am a HUGE fan of BDB, I hate to say that there were times when I liked this series more because of the hot sex...there was more.(call me a perv...sorry!) And there were no boring Lesser parts. All in all, I enjoyed this series and can't wait to start the next one. I really want to get to Tegan's story. I know it will be very interesting....more

Just cuz Xhex popped his ass back to his daddy didnt mean he is dead...they should know better! But I really enjoyed this one, it's actually one of my favs. I am so glad that Tohr and John worked things out...it's about time!! Oh and the tension between Qhuinn and Blay is like whoa!! Serves Qhiunn right that now he's jonesing for Blay now...and poor Blay:( I can't wait for the next one!...more
Honestly, I give it 3.5 stars but I rounded it up. I was very disappointed in this installment of the BDB!! This is the first time in this series wherHonestly, I give it 3.5 stars but I rounded it up. I was very disappointed in this installment of the BDB!! This is the first time in this series where I didn't connect with the main couple. They just didn't do it for me. They were so lame!! Maybe because I had high expectations and was so excited for another female warrior in the fray! I though Payne was going to be more exciting and she would kick some ass! And Manny didn't do much for me either...but to each his own I guess. I know a lot of people would disagree with me but...oh well!! I didn't like them. There were a lot of slow parts that I kinda skipped through a few pages. I hate that....I really really wanted to like Manny and Payne.
The reason I gave this 3.5 stars is because of my one true love...Vishous! I loved that his and Jane's story was completed!! As much as I love Lover Unbound, I still felt that there was some unfinished business with them and that he never really got to the core of his problems. The sex scenes between Vishous and Jane were smokin'(as usual)! Of course...she is banging Vishous!! I loved when he said that Payne and Manny were "um yeahing"...that was hilarious! I also wish there was more of Quay!! I really feel bad for my boy Qhuinn...I hope they can get it together. I just don't like Saxton....arghhh!! To me this book seemed like an in between....to lay out the land so to speak for future books.
All in all, I enjoyed it! If it wasn't for the fact that this was more about Vishous, I probably would have rated this lower. But I love The Warden and her writing style, I just wish I loved it as much as the others....more
