Scott and Anastasiya have an indelible history and incredible chemistry, and these are about to come to a head in this third and last instalment of the Corpus trilogy. I think the biggest question this story poses is: how far are you ready to go to protect those whom you love? To what lengths are you prepared to go? It's clear that Ana has no hangups in this regard. Throughout the story I laughed, I cried, I was shocked to the core - I loved every page. Scott is an amazing hero and the perfect balance for a heroine with a past such as Ana's. He's the man who can understand her the most, although at times, even he fails to understand her motives. We see here a beautiful story of love and loss and breathtaking adventure with a European backdrop, starting in Portofino and ending with an explosive, heart-pounding HEA. Not to be missed!...more

Imeldina is a fantastic children's book with many hidden messages. The author manages to pass them on without being "preachy". We need more such books in Maltese, I believe. From these pages, children can learn about problem-solving and independent thinking; about the power of persistence, of not giving up; and also how important it is to seek guidance from our elders when things get tough. Most of all, we realize it is okay to make mistakes sometimes because life gives us its own lessons. Well, this book is for children, but I do believe adults could learn a thing or two from it as well :). ...more

From the first pages, seeing how the author jumped neck deep into the character's mind, I knew I was in for a ride. Evalina's and Ben's characters fairly jump off the pages. I really liked these characters, how their relationship progressed, and I love stories of healed love, of new beginnings and letting go of the mistakes of the past. I found the dialogue, banter and flow of this novel exceptionally engaging, the suspense riveting, and the cultural bits are on point, too. With me being familiar with Italian culture, this was important, pretty much a deal breaker. Italy comes alive in this book but most importantly, the love connection makes your pulse race in delicious ways!...more

The emotions are complex, but so simply described and weaved in that it is so easy to relate. If you ever knew someone who'd succumbed to the destructive patterns of alcoholism, you will understand Chance's actions and motivations, and why he decided for a clean cut from his past. I really loved this small town romance - the cozy feel of the neighborhood, and the feeling that no matter what happens, someone is there to watch your back. I find myself wanting to know more about the town's inhabitants, and I hope that the author will tell their story eventually. One funny thing is that I'm a city girl now but reading this book made me want to move to a small town, just for the camaraderie and feeling of closeness! When I was growing up, I lived in a section of the city where everybody knew everybody, and if something bad happened, help was close at hand. Kendra, with her creativity, open-mindedness and kind nature, is perfect for Chance, who really needs someone to believe in him at this point in his life. Chance and Kendra's story is the beautiful tale of a fresh start, a second chance at both love and life, in a place where "whiskey" becomes but a whisper of the past. The little mystery twist also gave this book that extra something which, in my opinion, was crucial for the last leg of healing to occur. Ms. Spangler's writing style is fluid, easy on the eyes and the mind, and utterly unpretentious - yet loaded with flavor and emotion (like a double chocolate chip cookie :)). A full 5 stars in my opinion are well-deserved. If you love sweet romances set in a small town, you will love this book. ...more

And what fun I had reading this! I love stories that break the mold, and treat a theme or genre with a fresh take. The Vampire Code is definitely different from anything I've read in the vampire genre. There's a strong heroine (which I totally dig), and a delicious hero (sigh...Sebastian) - both well sketched and developed, showing growth over time - and an engaging plot and fast pace which leaves you breathless to the end. I really enjoyed seeing Sebastian and Aurora's attraction grow as the story progressed and the danger grew - and now I wait with bated breath for book two, which the author promises this year.
Aurora is an interesting character. She is a young, tough and ambitious lawyer who wants to succeed in her career. For this reason, and because of things that happened in her childhood, she often puts on a mask, and does not like to show her emotions. Because to her, this would mean being too vulnerable. Aurora is quite the character, and there's lots of humor among the seriousness in these pages. If there is such a thing as endearing snark, the author nailed it with Counselor Aurora Lake.
Sebastian, with his old world manner, charm, and chivalrous nature, turns out to be the perfect hero to melt the protective shield around Aurora's heart.
I won't give away much about the story except say that there are vampires, witches, a conspiracy, a prophecy, and all manner of goodies to keep you interested. I offer a full recommendation and 5 shiny stars. Read it!...more

When a book consists of a series of stringed sex scenes and little else, I tend to get bored and set the book to the side, unread. I need plot and most of all, good characterization. When I read Sherry Stanfield's 'Temptation Unleashed', I couldn't believe this was a debut book. Quality erotica is not easy to write, contrary to what some may think. This book was very enjoyable to me - impressed me even - and is one I'd heartily recommend. Also, I understand that this is a series, so I expect some questions to be left unanswered and addressed in future books. The sex scenes are very, very, very hot and written in a fluid and skillful style. The author did an excellent job here, and in my humble opinion, she'd rate among the top erotica authors for sex-scene-hotness. The world-building is expertly handled and the characters are fun and lovable (at least the good ones :)). I believe that any lover of paranormal erotica or paranormal romance would enjoy this book....more

I love how Muslim culture is portrayed in this book, and I appreciate the author's skill in creating two complex, believable and well-developed characters in a novella length book. I found it to be a refreshing eye-opener, and I would love to read more of these types of culture-centric stories. What this author achieved here is certainly not easy to do in a short tale, but it was accomplished flawlessly and seamlessly to create a polished finished product that is well worth the read. The physical and emotional chemistry between the main characters fairly sizzles and jumps off the pages. Well done! Highly recommended!...more
