What I like about this book
was the usual Idea about mates and the sizzle factor of the romance. A very cute couple and overall nice vibe. Cute friends and the family was nice and supportive which is a plus. Him protecting Her at every corner was cute and a bit wild but we are talking about wolves here after all.
What I was slightly peeved about
the cliché name- Wolfe... REALLY?! couldn't you think of something better. This is just one family, why are they the special ones to be called Wolfe.. what about the other clans?...are they gonna be called some other stupid variation or are they just not that special..?
The other thing was the female lead.... so beside the usual TSTL moments which I kind of expected (although some of her moves even I could not get over) was her utter lack of concern for killing people of seeing people get killed ...hm?!
SPOILER ALERT !!!
. . . How could she stick a knife in someone's throat and not even for a minute think that she killed someone and what are gonna be the consequences... nooo.... what she thinks about is whether her guy is promised to someone else even though everyone told her it's not true ... There are a couple of other stuff that annoyed me but we can skip that
LAst but not least: what I did not like:
The thing that bothered me the most was the author's choice to tell us how the main characters met when she was 13 and he 18 and instantly knew that 'this is the one' but did absolutely nothing until she was 30 and he 35 (could be wrong here, please excuse me if I am ... this is a mere guess based on the info that she was in school with his sister and the sister is around 30) So basically she is supposed to be our guy's one and only mate but he waited over 10 -15 years to get her?! seriously ?! and the excuse was that he was waiting for her to grow up and live a little .... I'm sorry but this just does not sit well with me. One of the biggest concepts when making a shifter story with predestined mates, at least for me, is the fact that once he or she meets their One this is IT !!!...They are supped to be focused on this person and have no other. This is kind of the bonus we get with these books but here we have her too young to do anything for at least another 5 years- that means he's not gonna be celibate for 5 years- first big problem. Then we get over the 5 years and we have her not underage but still nothing happens. That leads to the other big problem - she is around 30 years old and naturally has had some lovers already- How can He let this happen ?! She's supposed to be his mate but he let some other guys have her?! why?! while he was off with some other girl?! and he is supposed to love her? how? This ruins the whole story for me personally ... I'm a sucker for the whole ''you're mine and I will have no other''. After all in shifter books we have an excuse to believe in it but if that is missing then what is left is just another them-liking-each other-from-afar-and -doing -nothing- for - years and - then- -suddenly -realized -the -truth plot....
