I read several stories in newspapers and I find it fascinating how the embryos are treated... is property or a human being? Anyways, what I didn't like about the book was the relationships. Zoe's whirlwind romance with Vanessa was not believable to say the least. It was too soon, too fast. It all happened within six months! I had to question Zoe's homosexuality because as where as Vanessa knew and question her homosexuality, Zoe only had one incident when she was 10. I don't think that was enough to later confirmed she was a lesbian. The reason I question this is because if they are arguing that homosexuality is about being born than Zoe should had had those yearnings and desires like heterosexuals have when they are attracted to someone all her life. She dated guys. I don't think you can change teams whenever you feel like it. Also, their dialogue was interchangeable that when I read Zoe, I thought I was reading Vanessa and visa versa. I didn't like it at all. Another thing, she made Max sound like a really dumb 13 year old. Sometimes I was wondering isn't this a 30-something guy? And don't get me started with Liddy. I could see how both sides can go to extremes, but I am a firm believer that we shouldn't judge people because of their sexual-orientation and they deserve to get marry and experience the highs and lows of being married. Of course, be miserable like every other married couple. Oh Joy!(Yes, I'm married and cynical). In all seriousness, I think she didn't do a good job when it came to the relationships. And the ending was horrible!!! It was too abrupt and the epilogue didn't do justice to the questions I had. ...more

I give the book 4.5 stars. In some areas the story would wane a bit. I finally took the time to read and realized I missed a lot of things so I'm glad I took the time to read it. Like I said before, I will continue with the series and do recommend the book.
I started reading the book and the story was engaging, but as I kept reading there were areas that the story would get stagnant. I started skimming the rest of the book and I got the gist rather than the story so I don't know if I was just really curious to know the ending and I started cheat reading or the story was stagnant that I needed to skip some pages. I will continue the series. I'm intrigue as to what happens to Gaia, Leon, and Maya. ...more

I enjoyed the story and the concept was interesting especially since I'm mom. ...more

Sophie was very charming and adorable. I was surprised as to what she was. Something new for me and a nice surprised. The story was pleasant to read. I didn't like Elodie at all, didn't get the oooohhh-ahhhh-fascination, but I guess from a high school POV, it makes sense. The popular girl that gets everything even when she is dumb. I don't know where this story is heading, but I can't wait to read the sequel. I just hope it doesn't disappoint. Overall, I give it a four maybe I could have given it more, but I am not sure what stops me from doing so. I didn't like Archer not because he is a bad boy (I think every girl wants a bad boy at one point), but he wasn't bad enough for me. I think I found him lame at times. I can't explain why it was that I didn't like. They had sweet moments and that I would give her, but I think she can do better. Bring in the love triangle since that's new trend.
On a side note, some reviews were complaining that she reminded them of some other books and I have to disagree. I think she was been satirical about her own story and I think the author did a good job. I was surprised to know she is friends with Becca Fritzgerald because her books suck. Hasn't anyone told her that? This is not the review for that. ...more
