Let me just say Belinda's writing just gets better and better with each book she puts out. My only problem was that I just didn't start this book sooner than I did.
Bri and Quinn , everything is perfect until one day he just changes into someone she doesn't recognize. Confused and scared she doesn't know what to do and ends up finding about her own family isn't what she thought they were. This book seriously was a roller coaster ride of fun, drama, hot smexy action and those hot kisses Belinda is known for writing.
I personally bounced back and forth between the male characters in this book I started out like Quinn a whole hell of a lot then bam , he turned into well lets just say even though I love bad boys, I just couldn't go with how he was with Bri. Then came in Liam 'sigh' , he protects Bri like a man should and treats her like a man should. Can you tell I am Team Liam ?
Pardon me while I shout or cuss ...... okay I did it silently but picture me screaming at my ereader just a little while ago. Belinda did it again!! I am not sure whether I love her or hate her for her cliffhangers. Okay I still love her, but I am not sure I can handle being left hanging yet again. This time I have to wait til 2013. So the world better not end on Friday or I am going to be so pissed.
Anyway sorry for the rant, if you have read her other books, please I beg you to get this one. It was brilliantly done even with the agonizing cliffhanger. (less)

I really loved how Stella progressed in this book from a quiet, hide yourself in the corner kind of girl to finding confidence in herself at the end.
What I loved about this story-line it kept me guessing, here I thought it was going one way and it ended up in a direction I didn't expect at all. Usually the bad guy is brought in and pretty much you know when and what is going to happen but this one really through me for a loop. My eyes bugged and I literally said out loud well I didn't see that one coming.
I ought to learn nothing is cut in dry with stories because I did want her to be with one of the male characters but I quickly changed my mind as soon as the other one was introduced. I loved Marc. but at times I thought boy where was his anger coming from , we find out later but I won't say because it would give it away. And Evan, well I can't say too much there other than I love him, and that he gave Stella the confidence she needed to learn her craft.
There was a couple questions left unanswered but I think mainly in my own mind, because the story wrapped up rather neatly but left me wanting to read the next book which was just released, Unruly Magic.
So if you love witches with a bit of romance and a lot of action this book is for you. (less)

I finally bought this one out of whim one day. Not sure why hot cover, story called to me but I am sure glad I did. My only regret is that I didn't start or buy this book sooner.
This book combines both of my favorite genres in one, paranormal historical. I was certainly surprised just how fast I read this book, I read this book in one day- I just couldn't put it down. May I point out first and for most I loved the characters that is a must for me, to be able to connect to them which I did wholeheartedly.
As much as I loved the main characters, I equally loved the side characters. I loved the relationships not only with Lucan and Cara but with the brothers as well. I loved how despite all they had been through they stuck together as a family should. What I found especially nice was how welcome they made this girl feel at home though there was a few tense moments.
The backstory was very easy to understand and not once did I feel confused or that it dragged on too long. Overall this book captured my attention and held it to the very end. I can't wait to read Fallon's book which is next in the series, Forbidden Highlander. (less)

Like I said in my previous review of Laurie's debut book, Bonded by Blood I really enjoy her style of writing as well I hopelessly fell in love with the characters.
And Finn and Brenna was no exception though it was explained why they broke up wish we could have divulged more into their past. That being said Laurie did well in incorporating as much as she could in such short time. I only hope we can see more of these two in upcoming books.
The hot steamy scenes weren't disappointing and left me wanting more - see told you I was greedy. Overall this was a fast paced hot steamy read and if you are in need for a quick fix of some Sweetblood action before Embraced by Blood comes out June 21st(print and July 1st) this will tide you over until then.(less)

I loved the forbidden love between the Angel and Vampire- and the consquences for that love. This book grabbed me and I couldn't read it fast enough.
What I thought was interesting was the switching from 3rd to 1st person though at first it confused me but after a page or so, I fell comfortably back into the story. I believe this is the first book I ever read written that way and to me it was very unique.
I liked as well the transition from 1800's Ireland to Modern day Melbourne, it flowed very well. The characters were also well written, though I found myself getting a bit frustrated with Seth for a bit for his bitterness towards Danann.
Overall I loved this book and am eagerly waiting for the sequel because I want to know what happens next- oops almost gave away the ending of this book.
Would I recommend? Yes I believe this is nicely done debut for Joanne and I can't wait for the next book.

Curry is very angry and eager to part from his maker, he hates her and everything about the vampire world, til one day he steps out intending to end his miserable exsistance. Then unexpectedly his bond is broken and he runs away back to his home that he lived in 161 years ago.
Where he meets a woman he is drawn to for the first time in vampire life, Chansey, the granddaughter of the family he rents a room off of.
What I liked about this book was the unique twist on the vampire lore. Though the vampires are and can be turned their mates are chosen by a God. And the vampire has the option for their mate to either be turned or just enjoy their time together, while he would remain immortal the mate has an option.
What also is different this book is more about romance than smex, which I have to say is much different than I have been reading as of late and is a refreshing change of pace.
I can honestly say I enjoyed this book, though I was wondering or maybe expecting to see Marsala again but when we didn't I was a bit disappointed. I really wanted to see how she would actually react to Chansey But I guess we will be seeing that in future books, I sure hope so.
This book was a nice debut for this author and I would like to see where she takes this series.

There are parts of this book I did like, some I didn't. I really loved hearing more about Hadley and Queen Sophie Anne's relationship as well as we got to see in the past of Queen Sophie Anne and how she came to be a vampire.
One part which brought tears to my eyes when the truth was revealed about Bill and Queen Sophie-Ann, poor Sookie. I was hoping some redemption came for Bill but it just seems to be highly unlikely now.
Honestly as much as I like Quinn, I don't know if I really like him and Sookie together. Lastly I will say while parts I didn't care for I did love the battle at the end and Bill though I still am not sure about redeemed himself a bit in my eyes at the end(I did kind of feel sorry for him).(less)
