Gojko present us a technique to better understand, mesure and align the business goals with the plans to deliver a software product. Enter Impact Mapping, which is a kind of mind map to represent the following: Goal (why), Actor (who), Impacts (how) and Deliverable(what).
After presenting us the theory in the book, an example follow to help us better understand the concept while seeing it in action. Also, the great visual images in the book make it easy to comprehend everything.
The guide is small, about 70 pages, but packed with much information. You may have to read it more than once and refer often to it when doing your first Impact Map.
Also, the book is beautifully illustrated. I strongly recommend getting the paper version. Can't wait to do my first Impact Map !(less)

(less)

The author, Simon Brown, shown us his pragmatic side in this overview of what is software architecture. I did particularly enjoy the parts about the role and how to design and communicate software. Must read for any developer or software architect!(less)

The result is an excellent book about creativity and productivity named “Steal like an artist”. Why stealing? Because nothing is original.
The book is also beautifully illustrated; the paper used to print the book is of great quality. The look and feel this book gives you is worth the price alone. (less)

This is a very fast read of about 120 pages with many drawings (which some are a little strange, but art is art).

(less)

The authors Suzanne Collins, has a way to grab you into a story that is very difficult to put down. In this final book, the facedown between the rebels and the capital comes to a conclusion. The love triangle, which is not the primary theme of the book, also concludes here in a satisfying way. A must if you had read the first two books.(less)

I did like to read about the "Hunger Games" world trough the eyes of the sole protagonist. That way, we don't get into the background and some other characters and see their actions. So, after reading the book, there are many things left unanswered and mysteries to solve (probably in the following books).

Yes, there are some exercises for children, but it is more a book that introduce you how to develop your thinking skill overall.
Many techniques and methods described (6 thinking hats, Lateral Thinking, LO/POSO/GO, etc.) here are more fully explained in other books by Edward de Bono. Nevertheless, this is the kind of reference book with a great deal of information (and acronyms) that you need to go back many times to fully understand it. (less)
