I can't believe i enjoy so much reading about a 12 years old, but Louise is awesome. And the last piece about Titanic tragedy was making my eyes glassy. I'll definitely buy the 2nd book of this time-traveling fashionista adventure.(less)

I quite enjoy reading it, and somehow i can understand the stalker-side of Luce, the heroine in this book that gets so many people complaining about how crazy she was.
This book is about, well, quoting Ms. Sophia, two infants that fell in love, and then made the whole world collapsed, since one of them is/was an angel, a fallen angel.
Condemned for what he did, Daniel, the angel, got punished by God, because he didn't gave his soul (and his love) completely to JUST God, by falling in love to a mortal, Lucinda, Luce. This part is kinda ridiculous actually, but carry on.
As the punishment, Daniel the angel who got to live forever, had to see Luce died, over an over again for every 17 years. she resurrected, but only to die again everytime she met Daniel and fall in love again with him.
But in this lifetime things was working differently. why don't Luce died after Daniel kissed her oh so passionately?
Most people who read this book complaint about the crazy stalker mode that Luce pulled. They said Luce was unbelievably stupid, for not being able read the sign that Daniel threw on her face "I hate you!" but come on...they spent so many life times falling in love over and over again, of course they had that connection that would make them do stupid and crazy things. Things that can not be explain by common sense, but that what make most stories interesting and fun to read. because the characters in them do things that usually people in the real life wouldn't do. Because, here, in real life, we have to do everything by common sense, haven't we? all sober and logical, huh. *smirk*
although i do have to admit that some parts are boring, i still think this is a pretty good book. and i am eager to read the next one, not too soon, but i will.

kapan nih buku selanjutnya keluar, apa mending beli inggrisnya buru2 ya,hehehe...
suka banget sama pencampuran berbagai macam cerita yang di mix dengan sangat seru dalam buku ini, mulai dari King Arthur, 20.000 leagues under the sea, dll.buku ini bikin gue jadi penasaran buat baca karya sastra2 klasik lainnya. kemaren sampe nyari2 buku Treasure Island-nya Stevenson di Kino tapi nggak ketemu, huuhuhuu.
tapi ada satu hal yang SANGAT mengganggu gue...why Owen wrote so badly about Jamie???Come on! someone who create a character of a boy who resist to grow up was IMPOSSIBLE to choose marriage over a great adventure. it didn't make sense at all.it's so ill written. poor jamie, he's misunderstood :((
but apart from that this book is fab! all my thumbs for Owen.(less)

on the good side, the peter we all know, and love, not really a villain. the bad side, he's not that good either. *le sigh*
So Peter, the ever fun loving kid who would never grow up, actually not a kid, more of a teen, or pre-teen. And he's not reside in Neverland, but in Avalon. Wait, what? Yup, you read that one right. Brom, the writer/illustrator of this book mashed some of his favorite stories and myths, from the Peter Pan (well, doh), King Arthur, and also some of pagan myth and welsh old stories, etc. And the result is: a truly enchanting yet really dark story.
Don't let kids read this book, it'd give them nightmare, and would also ruin their imagination about fairy tales.
So Peter, not exactly the only main character in this story, was a child thief. He lured children to follow him into the mist, to Avalon, because this dying place was in need of their help. But Peter not just took any child, only the "unwanted", the runaways. The ones with baggage, with nightmare, with fears, with a broken home, with dysfunctional family. Peter would save them for whatever battle they had, and after that, he would take this kid back home into the Avalon, to be one of his Devils.
And what happened in there, in the Avalon? The once beautiful and magical island was dying, because of men kind, called flesh-eater, were trying to destroy it.
Brom would gave a flash back about Peter, what had happened to him, why he's never grew up, why he had pointy ears, etc. And then you'd meet the 'ruler' of Avalon, the three sibling, children of Avallach: The Lady (from the Lady of The Lake, Morgan Le Fey), The Witch, and the pagan God, the Horned One.
There are so many death, so many blood, so many fight in this book, about sacrifice, about faith, about killing others who had different believes. How children, merely in their early teens, killed men while their laughing. How they saw an epic battle, as just a game. Yet, beneath all the gory, beyond the savage-ness, the horror, and the murder, i still can see how great Brom as a writer. How he succeeded in making the story painfully beautiful, and sad.
i found beauty inside the horrendous place, a strong and pure friendship behind the massacre, and true sacrifice beyond my imagination.

Funny thing about Sam, his mind tend to create a song for many conditions and circumstances, happy or sad. but when he's with Grace, his mind suddenly stop producing words, for what he's experiencing, and what he feels, are too precious to put into words, or even song.
here's the song:
I fell for her in the summer, my lovely summer girl From summer she is made, my lovely summer girl I'd love to spend a winter with my lovely summer girl But I'm never warm enough for my lovely summer girl
It's summer when she smile, I'm laughing like a child It's the summer of our life; we'll contain it for a while She hold the heat, the breeze of summer in the circle of her hand I'd be happy with this summer if it's all we ever had ______________________ what can i say, this book is actually really good...in romantic kind of way. nothing overly done.
karakter2 dalam buku ini sangat menyenangkan karena mereka nggak ditulis berlebihan. Grace, the heroine, cuma cewek 17 tahun biasa, punya beberapa teman, dan ga punya masalah percaya diri.and thank god, she's not another whiny teenager that i have to put up for the whole book. she got her own issue,of course, tapi nggak ganggu dan bikin gemes.
Sementara itu, Sam, the hero, the teenage werewolf who got bitten when he was 8 years old, is a good looking boy, but in a casual kind of way.lo nggak bakal menemukan cewek2 drooling setiap kali ngeliat dia, atau harus terus2an membaca deskripsi tentang betapa gantengnya dia,yg malah bikin lo capek sendiri.
They are equal, grace and sam.and it's nice.
buku ini pake 2 perspektif, sam and grace, secara bergantian.i love it because i can feel how their feeling toward one another, and how they truly love each other.
penggambaran werewolf-nya Sam juga menarik, karena berbeda tentang mitos werewolf biasanya.para werewolves dibuku ini akan berubah saat udara menjadi dingin, so they'll become wolf in winter, and human in the summer.that's why Grace is never met her wolf (that's how she refer to Sam in his wolf form) on the summer time.
pokoknya buku ini menyenangkan buat dibaca lah, tapi justru karena nggak ada apapun yg berlebihan di buku ini.

They could do no wrong for me.although i wish Xhex would grow her hair long, but i think it'll change who she really is.
i also like Blay with Saxton, since I hope Quinn would end up with Layla, but it's not gonna happen i guess.
And i hate there was so little story about my fave brother Zsadist, why can we talk about him more?? *sigh*
but all in all, this book is awesome. number two in my fave list after Zsadist story xD
All i Want is You sung by Zsadist
You say you want Diamonds on a ring of gold You say you want Your story to remain untold
But all the promises we make From the cradle to the grave When all I want is you
You say you'll give me A highway with no one on it Treasure just to look upon it All the riches in the night
You say you'll give me Eyes in a moon of blindness A river in a time of dryness A harbour in the tempest But all the promises we make From the cradle to the grave When all I want is you
You say you want Your love to work out right To last with me through the night
You say you want Diamonds on a ring of gold Your story to remain untold Your love not to grow cold
All the promises we break From the cradle to the grave When all I want is you
You...all I want is... You...all I want is... You...all I want is... You...

Although this book not (yet) fascinated me as BDB had, but i can totally see its potential. Maybe because i love everything about greek mythology.
So, there are these warriors who become a 'house' for the demons who unleashed from the Pandora Box. In this story it was because all of the male warriors envy Pandora, a girl, who got the job the carry this box. And they wanted to gave Zeus a lesson for underestimate them. But little they knew that their foolish act, became their own penalty.
This book is mostly about Maddox, he is the keeper of violence and his female, Ashlyn, a mortal who got this ability to hear voices from all time. They met because Ashlyn came to the warrior place since she believe the people live there can help her stop the 'voices'. And of course they fell in love to each other. But can she stay with Maddox when she had to see him death everynight, killed by his own friends, Reyes, the keeper of pain, and Lucien, the keeper of death, who would take his soul to hell where Maddox spent his time until morning came.
What would Ashlyn do to stop this curse, so her beloved one never again had to die when midnight came? Could she gave her own soul in exchange?
I also love other warriors, esp Paris, the keeper of promiscuity and Gideon, the keeper of lie.
Everything about BDB is surely good, this one is not an exception also, not as special as Zsadist story, but still good, great even.

And I feel glad that John Matthew finally had his transition. But why I feel that among all brothers Rhage is kinda forgotten? As if he's not as important as the others, even his Shellan Mary did not show in this book, while the others shellan, even Beth, did.
Yeah well, just minor distraction. Didn't ruin or even affect the greatness of this book though.(less)
