I totally understand now why some readers said this book is boring. The plot is all about the couple's getting to know each other and push-and-pull romance drama. It has very little of action scenes so if you crave that more, you won't find it here.
I, on the other hand, liked the book. I don't mind the lack of action because Stephen and Juliana's relationship is sweet and mad enough for me to enjoy (perhaps I'm in mood for full blast romance). I liked how they brought up together. I liked how from hatred, it became love between them.

The book was a page turner and I enjoyed the plot. The main characters are interesting people. I especially liked Isabel because she is wild and sometimes said something quite funny she made me laugh. Drogo is tortured, damaged soul man and I am happy he finally had his happily ever after in Isabel’s arms. The only problem I have with the story is that the battle is told less. Anyway, I would love to know and read more about Normandy because honestly, when I started this series I totally clueless about them. It’s nice to have found something new.

At first I had doubt when the book because I truly dislike reading a story where two sisters onto the same hero. It’s disgusting, awkward, and I can’t stand the drama. Luckily, this book has none of it. Gregoire is although betrothed to Aislinn by order of King, its Bridget he wants. Bridget’s sister has no interest on Gregoire and she even encouraged Bridget to pursue the man instead.
The romance was okay. I cringed reading their first time bedroom sport because Bridget was tipsy. Yes, it happened between two consensual adults but I think Gregoire should at least have waited until Bridget sober up. Other than that, it’s all cute and sweet scenes between them.
The war part, I was a bit disappointed because the action was quite short and the villain died instantly. I wish to read more gore and violence. The Reggeland didn’t deserve instant death after all the bad things he said and almost did to Bridget that had her traumatised about marriage sentiment throughout her lives.
There is one character that I just don’t get it. It’s Aunt Edyth. She is the sister of Bridget’s father. In my honest opinion, her reasons like Bridget’s is unlike her father and more of her mother and isn’t fit to become a countess and take care of people in Shyleburge keep is unconvincing and crap. I’d love to know the real reason behind it. Bet there must be one.
Not forget to mention, I adored the writing style and actually I enjoyed every word of it. It’s refreshing to read quite a few rare words. They intrigued and I tried to roll the words into my own accent. Imagine and listen how it sounded like. I only googled when I bothered with some difficult pronunciation. Overall, it was a nice and light story. I would love to read more of Ms Wonch’s books.

It pretty much ruined my mood to have a sizzling hot cowboy romance. Don't get me wrong though. The chemistry between Garrison and Sara is sizzling hot, alright. It's just that, in my very humble opinion, the book doesn't need the paranormal element.
