I love the way she quickly engages me into her stories. Her story telling is vivid, her characters are ones I enjoy reading about, and the worlds she create are just as dangerous as they are enticing. Marie Lu has yet again proved why she's one of my favorite YA authors.

Hepperman takes society's skewed views on love, sex, women, body image and food with teenage girls and creates a collection of realistic poems that blur the edges of what's right and wrong, realistic and fantasy.
This is definitely not your mother's book of fairy tales. Poisoned Apples is a book of poems that cut to the heart of the issues that plague our societies views, and the impact they have on young girls. Hepperman's words are unsettling, and truthful. As a reader, I didn't get every poem in this book, but the ones I did get, I feel that as an author Hepperman did her job in getting her point of across. There were some poems I found to be really dark, but, the harsh reality is, these are images and messages that plague our society today. Hepperman does a great job at brining these issues to light in each of her poems. I admire the fact that she didn't take serious subject matters lightly.
The haunting black and white photographs add to the books disturbing and dark feel. Each picture matches the poem it's shown beside. If I could use one word to describe this book, I would say it's provocative. On a side note, I just have to mention that I love this cover. Both it and the title are a perfect fit for this book. Poisoned Apples won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I feel there is something for everyone within in the small pages of this book.

Witches, Magic and the right amount of that Josephine Angelini slow burning character chemistry that I've come to love. Trial by Fire has that perfect blend of supernatural/paranormal elements, mixed into a beautiful crafted world filled with intriguing characters I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know, and follows the story of a tough heroine who learns to navigate a world that parallels her own. Josephine Angelini proves yet again, why I love reading her books.

With a heroine who's trying to figure out where she stands with all the chaos happening around her, two swoon-worthy characters who complicate things with who has her heart (and mine too), plenty of Armentrout action packed scenes, that snark I love about her books, and shocking twists and betrayals fans won't see coming, this is a book Armentrout fans will love!
I feel that the only thing I should say in this review is that this book is AWESOME! I LOVED IT and I need the next book now. There is so much I want to say about this book, but can't. I can't give anything away, and let me tell you there is a lot that happens in this book. Frankly, just when I think I have things figured out Armentrout throws me for a loop both emotionally, and in the "no freaking way I can't believe that just happened" way. Okay well also in the "that's about time that happened" way too. *coughs* Oh those sexy times scenes are fabulous. Speaking of that, seriously Armentrout, thank you for messing with my heart. I was totally set on a team in White Hot Kiss, and now I'm totally torn between Roth and Zayne. I think I'll pledge myself to Team Bambi.
Roth and Zayne... Let me tell you, I am just as confused as Layla on who I would pick. I don't recall ever being this divided on the two lead guys before, but leave it up to Armentrout to have all flustered and twitter-padded over these two.

One of the things I love about children's books, is the way they stories are told, and the message the stories have. Elliot might be small, and he may look different than everyone else around him, but that doesn't stop him or discourage him from doing things. But sometimes he may need a little help. In his despair of not being able to purchase a cupcake that he really wanted, Elliot finds someone else who's in need of a helping hand. Together these two learn that working together and helping each other out is much more rewarding then trying to do everything on their own. More importantly, Elliot, and his tiny mouse friend learned the value of friendship.
I have a weakness for small cute things. Including elephants, and small white mice. Now add in cupcakes, and a story about friendship/helping each other out, and you've got a story made of win. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this story, including the message about helping others and friendship. The illustrations are simply beautiful. They are a perfect match for this story. When it comes to children's picture books, illustrations make it or break it for me. It doesn't matter how well the story is told. These illustrations are ones that made me flipping through the book before and after reading it.
I would highly recommend adding this to your shelf! It's definitely a timeless treasure that will be enjoyed by readers of all ages. (less)

It was one of those around good reads, that I was able to sit and read without over thinking or analyzing anything, which was enjoyable to me. Sometimes it's nice to just sit and read a book like that. Plus, this book whisked me away on a trip to Europe. had a Prince, some romance, and an exciting adventure. What's not to like about that, right!?

This is one of those timeless stories that will never get old, no matter how many times you read it. I LOVED IT! This is my favorite read of 2014 so far. The Kiss of Deception is one of those reads that has it all. Mary E. Pearson's writing pulled me into her story effortlessly, made me fall in love with her characters easily and hungrily left me wanting so much more when I finished the book. .......................
I could go on and one about this book, but I'll summarize why you should pick up this book. In summary- If you're looking for a book about a girl who takes her destiny into her own hands, and wants to marry someone who loves her and she loves him, vs marrying out of duty for kingdom, then pick this book up. If you're looking for a book that does NOT have a love triangle, then pick up this book. If you're looking for a book that has two exciting male characters, pick up this book. If you're looking for a book that sweeps you off your feet, has you anxiously awaiting it's sequel, and makes you want to go back and re-read it again, pick up this book. In short, I LOVED THIS BOOK and HIGHLY recommend you pick it up. And yes, this book is going on my all time favorites shelf!
