Damon, Damon, Damon.
Yup, he's my new book boyfriend. All mine. I'll fight ya for him! Why? Because Damon Atwood is a wonderful mix of tortured, brooding artist and gruff, caring, earthiness. I absolutely loved him! He was a perfect counterpoint to heroine, Rose, a talented, romantic, warm, trusting, open young woman. She was exactly the kind of person Damon needed in his life, and as far as character development goes, perfection. I also loved how both hero and heroine had their fair share of trauma, and yet such different reactions to it. There was that perfect balance of being what the opposite needed with enough similarities between them for compassion and empathy to draw them together. This was done with L.H. Cosway's natural instincts for great characterisation; a skill proven in her supporting characters because with every one of her books I find myself equally intrigued by them as I am with the main heroes. And as always, Showmance is recognisable as an L.H. Cosway novel because of its earthy authenticity and addictively smooth-paced narrative.
Showmance may be set in the flamboyant world of the theatre and a Moulin Rouge production, but this is a story about the characters and their romance takes centre stage. It is one filled with heart pounding emotion, delicious angst and damn hot sex scenes! *fans self* If I haven't mentioned it before I'm a huge fan! Like Cosway's books before it, Showmance has heart, intensity, loveable, real, raw characters and more than a dash of heat! 5 STARS!...more
It's official: LH Cosway and Penny Reid are a perfect writing team. Everyone knows I'm a huge fan of both writers' books, but what some might not know is I first discovered them when I picked up "The Hooker and the Hermit". Once I read that, I knew I had to read more from them and I started to devour everything they've written as individual authors. The second book in the Rugby Series "The Player and the Pixie" lives up to its predecessor. It's funny, it's emotional, it's sexy and it has my favourite thing in it—fan-freakin-tastic characterisation. The thing I've come to love about both authors is their skill at character development. For me to fall in love with a romance novel, I need to fall in love with the characters, and for me to fall in love with the characters they need to be truly three-dimensional. It was certainly easy to fall for the characters here. Both Lucy and Sean have layers. They're flawed, they're real, and for that they are both immensely likeable. The biggest win for this book is in fact Sean. To take a character with unlikeable character traits, give history to the traits and thus understanding, and have you fall in love with that character despite his flaws is masterful. I love Sean! I didn't think he could dethrone Ronan... yet somehow he did.

With every new book in this series the couple becomes my new favourite and Greg and Fiona are definitely my new favourites. I think their story got to me more than any other because their relationship was so realistic. They face the same ups and downs that people who have been together or married for a long time do. Ultimately, I think there is something much more powerful about the idea of a love that can survive all the highs and lows that life can throw at it, and Penny delivers this brilliantly. HEN is finely balanced. It's not just about characters who put that darn ache in your chest. It's got the fantastic banter, wit, smarts, and the feels I've come to expect from a Penny Reid novel... not to mention more than a dash of action!
A wonderful read. I'll never have to read a Penny Reid blurb again. If she wrote it, I'm reading it....more

So I'm officially a fangirl. I love Penny Reid's novels and this novella has just made me fall harder. With every new book in this series the couple becomes my new favourite and Greg and Fiona are definitely my new favourites. And this is only an origin novella! To say I am excited for their story 'Happily Ever Ninja' is putting it mildly! It's the best romance novella I've ever read. The chemistry, the banter, and best of all how three dimensional they are. Penny's characters always are but packing all that into 40K is tough to do for any author and this is a triumphant success. That's what makes her my favourite contemporary romance writer. Yeah. I said it. FAVOURITE.
Penny, if we are ever at signing together I will attempt to not be a creepy ninja stalker around you.

I've just finishedThe Hearts series is one of my favourite contemporary romance series out there and Hearts of Blue is a fan-frickin-tastic addition. I've just finished the book and all I can think about is Lee Cross. While this is a Romeo & Juliet style love story (epic and full of the feels in other words), Lee Cross is a bit of a Robin Hood character. A sexy as sin, tattooed, mischievous, charming rogue of a Robin Hood. There is just no other word for him but 'yum.' Yum. Yum. Yum. Yum. And while I'm mentioning yum did I mention the gorgeous bad boy can cook? Because he can! There's no hope, dear readers. You will fall for Lee Cross whether it's right or wrong.
Best of all with Hearts of Fire, as with all of LH Cosway's novels, is the character development and chemistry. Karla and Lee are real, their issues are real, and the obstacles in their way are very definitely real. But so is their chemistry. And even handcuffs can't keep chemistry locked down for long ;)...more

I haven’t laughed out loud at a book this much since I read Wallbanger. Clayton’s done it again!! Brimming over with clever, quirky, sexy, bawdy wit, Nuts is pure escapism with a heroine to love and laugh with and a hero to drool over. Oh and I have to mention the food! For the love of all that’s yummy and sweet in this world! I finished this book with a craving for cake. Lots of cake! I recommend having it or a bakery on hand while reading it. Hot, hilarious, and hearty… Nuts is the perfect start to the Hudson Valley Series and firmly on my favourites shelf! ...more

I loved Anna James Bennett's humor and real, girl-next-door personality — it was a fantastic match for Beau Emerson’s more complicated hero. Beau’s story was compelling and really hooked my emotions so when the plot unfolded in his and Anna James's story I was desperate for him to get his HEA. It was a nice change to be so invested in the hero as it’s more usual for me to just connect with the heroine, but I truly felt for them both! A five star read for sure! ...more

His story is epic and now I can’t make up my mind which of Cosway’s heroes in the Hearts series I’m most in love with. KOH is a fantastic addition to what has quickly become one of my all time favourite series. LH Cosway is a truly refreshing voice in romance and now a definite one-click buy author for me. ...more

Penny Reid never disappoints! I absolutely fell in love with Duane and Jessica’s story. The chemistry between the two characters is immediate and intense and hot and hilarious and just freaking fantastic. What I love most about Penny’s characters is how real they are, and Duane and Jess are no exception. Jess’s backstory was great and I adored her development. An incredibly likeable, smart and sassy heroine and she had me rooting for her from page one. As for Duane… yup, I have a new book boyfriend! My favorite thing is a well-balanced hero — a kind, funny, down-to-earth sexy cool guy with a touch of alpha. Duane Winston, I think I love you. And I love your brothers. Truth or Beard not only entertained the heck out of me, it made me desperate to read every single brother’s story. It amazes me how much individuality each brother has and I already know that the Winston Brothers series is going to be a firm favorite on my shelf. Five out of five stars for Truth or Beard. Witty and steamy with a hint of suspense and a whole lot of feels. ...more

Thirty five year old Tyler Marek and twenty three year old Easton Bradbury’s first interaction is combustible and I was engrossed from that moment on. Easton has a tragic past and very believable, real issues as a consequence. Those issues gave her, her vulnerabilities and made her completely relatable but she’s also the coolest, strongest, sassiest heroine ever and I adored that about her. As for Mr. Marek… where was he when I was twenty three?!! Um… someone pass me one of those handheld fan thingies please. Talk about HOT. This whole book is HOT. And it’s not just the smoldering sex scenes that make it so. I love great banter and Misconduct has that in spades. Add in the aforementioned steaminess, intrigue, emotional conflict, feels —oh man the FEELS— and I’ve got one of my favourite reads of 2015 on my hands. Penelope Douglas just keeps getting better and better. I no longer need a blurb from this author. If she wrote it, I’m reading it. FIVE GIGANTIC STARS. ...more

As a huge fan of Penny's I went into this expecting brilliance... and that's exactly what I got. Penny has effortlessly transitioned the intelligent humour and quirky, loveable brilliant heroine of her adult romances to the new adult genre. The heroine, Kaitlyn, is smart as hell but, like any college age woman, she's still finding who she truly is. In steps the gorgeous and complicated Martin! This has all the sexiness of the NA genre, amped up to scorching levels by Penny Reid's ability to create the most delicious chemistry between her heroine and hero. The witty dialogue, the honest vulnerability of Kaitlyn (and Martin), and yes, the angst (it's not NA without angst!), had me devouring this serial in 48 hours. The hot sexy times were just icing on the best freaking book cake I've eaten since the last Penny Reid book I read. Compellingly authentic characters, addictive writing, smart, real dialogue, and a love story that got me in all my feels... this is new adult at its very, very best.
