It is the perfect combination of story and illustration. The text is clever because besides rescuing Knuffle Bunny, which is the expected, there is the unexpected ending of Trixie uttering her first words. The illustrations are a combination of muted photographs with cartoon figures superimposed on them. The expressions on the cartoon faces are priceless. Although this would be a hard book to top, there is a sequel – Knuffle Bunny Toowhich is just as good.Mo Willems is one of the hottest children’s authors around these days and rightly so. Our library recently sponsored a Mo WillemsDay which was well attended. (less)
