This book is about a boy named max that lives with his mom, his sister claire and his moms boyfriend gary. One day max was in the kitchen with his mom and he yelled WOMAN FEED ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so then his mom grabed at him but she missed and then she started chasing him around the houseand finally she caught him but max bit her arm and ran out of the house and into the woods after a while max heard a noise so he ran toward the bay and saw a small sail boat and got into it. Max tried to sail towards his dads house in the city so he just followed the city lights but insted he was sailing away from the city. Days and nights went by and one day max saw it. It was an island max sailed towards it and finally he saw figures he got closer and then he could see what they looked like one giant bird a walking goat and four beasts he saw one that was destroying nest like houses then he said WHO WILL HELP ME DESTROY ALL THESE HOUSES!!!!!!!! and then max came out from hiding and burned a torch and threw it at one of the nests and it burned and the beast that was destroying the nests said I'll race you to see who can tear down these houses faster and so they did and of course the beast won and the beast started to howl and max did too and the beast said hi i'm corol and he introduced him to alexander, douglas, judith, ira, katherine and the bull then all the beast started closing in on max when carol and katherrine weren't looking but max lied to the beasts and told them he was a king and they couldn't eat him because he wanted to help them so they didn't eat him and the bull got him a crown and a staff so that night they all slept in a big pile the next day when max woke up he felt he was being carried and he heard carols voice saying sorry i didn't mean to wake you up I want to take you somewhere special and max said okay and got off of carol and walked next to him when carol stopped there was a big hill and when they reached the top max noticed s sideways entrane and carol jumped in and max followed inside there was a city with all the beasts in it and carol and katherine were in a boat together and all the other beasts were inanther group and all of a sudden carol and katherine get separated from the group and they crash and then carol and max leave and when they get back all the beasts are mad at carol because carol took max so then max has the idea to have a war so then they have a war were they are supposed to throw dirtclods but then things start getting out of hand and rocks and poor animals were getting thrown so max decided to take his white under shirt to show mercy but when he leaves the bunker he got hit in the stomach and got the wind blown out of him so after the war max decides to make a fort to keep the chatter and the void away so katherine gets her owls to protect the fort and then max says he has to leave but carol chases max until katherine hides max from carol in her stomach and then max leaves and goes to his house
The compelling literary element of the story were the characters because they were interesting, they were funny and wierd and last they all have different traits
The three parts of the book that I found interesting were the war,the fort and the part where Max atacked Claire's friends.
My 5 questions are: why did the author add parts to his book that weren't in the movie or the original book, why did the author choose to write a graphic novel on where the wild things are, why did the author add the part with the paperclip crane, why did the author add the part with Max's bird he made in art class, why did the author add the part with Max's mom asleep at the end of the book
relate the book to the world or other books 1. my brother bit my mom once like max did 2. I like cream of mushroom soup like max 3. I've made a snow fort like max did (less)

The compelling literary element was the characters, who wouldn't be interested in a outlaw or a kids no-good-pig-stealing-great-great-great-grandfather that is why the characters were the compelling literary element. it was compelling because you can tell the author took a long time thinking about the characters also they are funny at some parts and serious and just plain cool lastly the description of them is just amazing
Summary: Stanley Yelnats is having a very bad day people are making fun of him because he is overweight and his bully that is 5 times smaller than him flushed his journal down the toilet his bad luck doesn't end there though(his family is cursed with bad luck because stanley's no good pig stealing great great great grandfather), he is walking home when a pair of shoes hit his head since his dad is inventing a machine that recycles shoes he thinks he should bring them to his dad. well he shouldn't have because the next thing he knows he is in court being convicted of stealing a famous baseball player Clyde''sweet feet''Livingston's shoes he is given a choice go to jail or camp green lake Stanley's never been to a camp so he chooses camp green lake. Every day is torture he has to dig a 5 by 5 hole all because of his no good pig stealing great great great grandfather.
The parts that I found interesting: 1. When Zero hit Mr. Pendanski 2. When Stanley carried Zero up gods thumb 3. When stanley feels a pinch on his neck(I thought the lizard bit him and I was scared)
Questions or things I would like to discuss 1. Is there a second book or sequel? 2. Was the lady stroking zero's hair his mother? 3. If Gaffy was imaginary couldn't Zero just call it to come back? 4. Where was Zero's mom found? 5. Was Zero's mom looking for him?
Relate to books or the world 1. Call it courage because there is a part that Stanley has a lot of courage when h carries Zero up God's thumb. 2. Man vs. wild survival in hot climates and fighting for your life. 3. jail they are trying to correct you of what you did in your past. (less)

District twelve was bombed in an attempt to kill Katniss for starting a revolution against the capitol. district thirteen was never destroyed it went into hiding underground after it was bombed so katniss and her family are taking refuge there. Katniss goes to an army base in District two called the nut, while giving a speach to try to get 2 into revolutioning against the capitol she is shot she survives though. in the end of the book thirteen is attacked again and everyone is in bunkers when the bombing is over katniss records something that is streamed through to the capitol she is saying she is still alive and the revolution against the capitol has not ended.
The compelling literary element was the plot it is just so thrilling and exiting because of the plot. It was important because if it weren't for the plot no one would understand the story. also the plot is like magnet for young and old people who wouldn't like action and fighting morphed into one book.
the parts that I found of particular interest where: 1. When Katniss gets shot because you don't know if she will survive. 2. When katniss finds out that Peeta is alive but he has been brainwashed and hates her because you don't know if he will kill her or change or get his memory back 3. When 13 gets bombed and the light go out because you don't know if the bunker will collapse.
Some questions I had throughout this book were: 1. Will Peeta ever get his memory back? 2. Will Katniss survive her bullet wound? 3. Does Peeta really hate katniss or is he faking? 4. Will 12 ever be restored or built again or will it be gone forever? 5. Will Peeta have to be killed so he won't be a danger to Katniss??
I can relate this book to: 1. The revolution in Egypt because of one person it is the same thing in Mockingjay she is the one person that started revolution against the capitol. 2. A sponge because it starts small and as you put it in water it gets bigger and bigger because the book starts off boring and then like a sponge it sucks in water and gets bigger and bigger and by the end of the book the sponge can't hold in any more water. 3. Catching fire (Hunger games series #2) because it is the same plot and you get a hint of the revolution in catching fire. (less)
