It was just strange and awkward all the way around for me. Adam's strange disappearances instead of being mysterious were annoying and dragged out, Tristan's conversion was almost instantaneous and a little fast for me. And the whole thing with Tristan's brother... Adam was SO in love with Mark (who, surprisingly, I liked the most) and it seemed for a while less in love with Tristan and justifying it at one point because he hadn't been with him long. He's walking down the street wanting to hold both of their hands. Then all of a sudden he's sorry for kissing Mark and nothing like that will ever happen again, cute scene, end. Abrupt, kind of like a fall off of a cliff or hitting a wall after all of that build up. It could have been longer and given a more fleshed-out solution. Hell, I would have taken a threesome. Inscest isn't really my thing, but you'd think it would have been more awkward for them than they were acting if it didn't turn into something like that. They weren't even skeeved out. It could have turned into a threesome with the brothers just being with Adam and not each other, like Colter's Woman by Maya Banks, minus the lady of course. That would have made more sense to me. Either way, even with the adorable parting shot, I was left wondering what had just happened. I probably wouldn't recommend this book, but I might go give another of her books a chance. Good dirty talk, kind of likable characters. Can't judge an author by just one piece, so I'll have to get back to you all on that... (less)

I've seen this around forever and kept passing it by, I don't remember why. So I finally picked it up. When I read The Beginning at the end of this book the smile on my face was huge. What a simply beautiful statement. What a way to end a book. It was their beginning. I also loved all of the suspense and info, that really built it up for me. I'm a HUGE fan of tension. That makes up for the fact that there's not much smexy going on. Although there was a reason for that. I loved how Lance was all I'll kill anyone for you, it's just that simple. Lance was super badass, even while being a weenie (be impressed by my awesome 2 am vocab!) and all of his circumstances. Can't wait to see what he does in the next book, and to delve deeper into the world of these guys I'll be back soon to rereview. Um, ps, I didn't read over this. So if I sound crazy, that's not surprising. I sound like that a lot anyway. ;)(less)

However the characters seemed to settle into themselves. I loved almost everything about it. I need to get my hands on more of his work. It wrapped up nicely. Kind of wish there was more :) I fell hard for those characters. Sexy, funny, dark, wild. What more could you ask for? And although I don't see this getting published, I think it should be.

I read some of her other work : Cam's story, and the continuation Duets. I absolutely want to squish Alex because he loves Parker so much :D Parker is like sunshine and... other adorable things. Even when he's emo emo. This story is really cute, incredibly hot, unbelievably funny, and should definitely be published. The pacing was great and the authors notes were quirky. You get to see the gang from The Band Geek's Dictionary again (or for the first time if you read it out of order like I did, lol) I'm super hoping Ryette ends up finishing the "sequal" for Alex and Parker because I can't get enough of them. I'm going to reread this soon. I'd recommend this, but it isn't going to be for everybody. I love long stories and can overlook a lot if the overall tone of the piece is something I'm looking for. It was my cup of tea :)(less)

I fell in love with the characters in all of the books, but the writing really seemed to drag for me. In this I felt like it was much better paced. Ben really redeemed himself. Him and Micah, whom I love forever!, are perfect for each other. The dialogue was witty and funny as well as awwwww inspiring (hehe) and hot. I liked seeing Noah and Clark and the rest of the gang again. Micah's mother was hilarious. The way the ending wrapped up seemed a bit abrupt to me but I guess things like that happen and the rest of the story was amazing so. I can't wait for the next one, not only because I really like Andrew and Caleb, but because I hope there is more Ben and Micah yay!(less)

I can't wait to see more of Riley and Wes, and hopefully Jamie. I'm now counting down the days until the next Ranch book WOOT!(less)

It would have been five stars for me, but there are a few things I wanted. Such as knowing why Juan and Duncan are so close, some of the things seemed rushed... But I always love a good man calling another man baby. It's the hag in me I suppose. LOVE IT! I really liked Micah and Tucker together. I absolutely loved AJ, wish there had been more of him. I super liked Juan and Ferguson and Jeff; Obviously not Duncan... All in all I'd say it was a really good book. Finished it in one sitting. OOooooo, I was DYIN! during the imaginary sex scene. had tears in my eyes by the end of it. Then I was getting short of breath. Too bad AJ interrupted, lol.(less)

There are SO many favorite parts for me in this book, but the one that gets me every time is when Noelle is sucking on that gold stick of hers she uses for... I suppose everything involving demony stuff. It's just so her. "She leaned back on her heels and sucked the tip of her gold stick. "Asmodeus, eh?" " She's one of the best characters, that keeps showing up in many of the books. It seems like she might be getting a book soon. I'm crossing my fingers. I know a lot of people have been waiting a while for it. As for Allegra and Christian, I know people were pleading for his book, but it was already out by the time I picked up the series. I did however, quickly fall in love with him and his domineering ways too. :) Allegra is the perfect one for him. She's spunky and I love her eyes. One of my favorite scenes is in the beginning in the book store when they ask each other what and who they are. From there, obviously, Joy and Roxy get involved. It was bliss to read this book, and so nice to see everyone back from the first novel. I like how Katie's characters "keep in touch" and we get to keep seeing them in each other's novels. Another one of my favorite paragraphs is the one that ends with 'Here Be Dragons'. I'm just so into mid-evil and that saying had such a feel to it! "...Hopelessness filled that room, and reminded me of the antique maps where cartographers had penned images of monstrous sea creatures with the notation that "Here be dragons." Last but not least is the ghosts.I crack the F Up when I read about them. Esme always gets on my nerves at first, me hating being told what to do, but she grows on you. Dragging the bible, taking care of Honoria, Mr. Woogums, it's hilarious. Oh, and the sausage curls. Jem is amazing too. His constant "costume" change is great. From rapper to wrestler, and missing a tongue, he's one of the funniest. I like his accent too. Antonia, O Antonio! One of my favorite lines of his is when he's so disappointed that Allegra had joined with Christian he asks if she'll have lots of girl babies, and if one of them will grow up and know that she's his. Last but not least is Alis. He china-hating ways are sidesplitting. Every time I read about her screaming at ceramics, I lose it! Her character is just so descriptive and mind boggling. Welsh woman with an old wrinkled prune face who use to sust this old man's valuables and now hates anything expensive. LMAO. She even has a favorite vase to hate. ONE LAST THING! (I know, I keep saying that, This book is just so HILARIOUS!) "Oriens. Now would one of you mind telling me why neither of you is averting your eyes from my dreadful presence, so monstrous that my very being is unbearable to humankind?" Noelle snickered, quickly converting it into a cough. "Well, possibly," I said, feeling my lips twitch again. "But maybe first you would tell us why you chose to manifest yourself in the form of Shirley Temple as last seen on the 'Good Ship Lollipop'?" The demon twirled around, its big pink sash fluttering as it smoothed down its dress and frilly little petticoat. "My grotesque form isn't making you sick with fright?" We both shook our heads, Noelle with a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud. "Shirley Temple at her pinnacle was frightening," I finally told it, "but not in the sense I think you mean." The demon's little golden curls bobbed as it stamped its foot. "It's that Morilen! He told me that this form would strike terror in the hearts of humans!"(less)

Just finished rereading this one. (For like the 5th time) I have so many favorite parts in this book I am loathe to give even a few examples, lest I end up writing them all out here. Buuuuut, you talked me into it, lol. I can't help but discuss a good book, and I am very passionate about this series. : "Nell, I will not explain it to you again! There is nothing you can do. Leave now!" I leaned forward and, carefully avoiding the swords, kissed the tip of his nose. "Make me." "What?" I thought his eyes were going to bug out. "I said make me. You can't, huh? That's why I'm here, snuggypants." This is just a small part, but the what just cracks me up because I can totally see his eyes going huge. i imagine it's adorable on Adrian. And Oh, the snuggypants thing just does good stuff for me. :) Another scene that I love is the first train station scene, where Adrian disapears to looks around and Nell ends up going after him. It's when things begin in earnest, Nell using their link, and deciding she isn't the same without him. "Men with dimples sing Broadway show tunes. Upbeat Broadway show tunes!" This has got to be one of my favorite rants of hers, besides the whole, mummies aren't puppies one, in the library of Christian's house when she asks for some news papers for the mummies to sit on. Antonio is hilarious., although I don't get the reference of Pigeon Breasts that he calls Nell.
See below for some wicked quotes "I pinched a bit of flesh on his back exposed between his black cotton sweater and the waistband of his pants. "Bad vampire." "
"I'm the only girl in the whole of England who ever voice-activated mummies."
"I am Team Adrian, so Sear can just suck on that fact."
"Adrian groused. "I am not a lambypie, nor am I a spaetzel."
I love the vampire references in all of their misguided glory (Buffy, knot bun...), I love that the phrase 'wild bunny sex' is used a lot, I love that we get to see so much of some of the old characters, and I love the new. I love that Nell is so flippant with Adrian and in general, and that it's hilarious. I love that Damian is so disagreeable, "Damian sighed a sigh of such martyrdom that only a ten-year-old could produce it.". I love the mummies (OH THE MUMMIES!) They are freakin fabulous. With their cooing and gamboling around and names like Ginger. What is not to love? I love that the characters are badass yet "human". I loved Nell's "introduction" into the world of the supernatural; House imps really are hard to get out of the carpet, lol. Really, the list could go on and on.
And now that I'm just posting random awesomness from the book, here are my ending statements before I get too out of hand... While the end of Saer is a little anti-climactic, even for me (And Nell too: "It's over. I can't believe it's over. I walk in here, you're playing Adrian-the-pincushion one minute, and whammo! the next you lop off Saer's head and it's over." ), it was super well worth the read! It just gets better every time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. (less)

My friend mentioned Christine Feehan's Dark Series but I thought, for sure there are too many and they'll be boring. No such luck, thankfully. :) I'm only on the third one right now but I'm working my way down the list. You meet new people in every one. It's fun. And sometimes ones you already know are thrown in.(less)
