And I still am, because Strange Angels proves to be the beginning of a fact paced, awesome series.
While Dru was a bit annoying in the beginning, she definitely grew on me while the story continued. I get it, her dad gets turned into a zombie, so that's enough to make a girl a bit whiny. But she grew as a character, and I really liked the characterisation of Dru. She wasn't unbreakable, but she did her best to be strong and tried to make the best of the situation that was at hand.
The thing I loved most, besides the excitement and how fast paced this book was, was Graves. He isn't your average goodlooking guy who sweeps a heroine off her feet, and I thoroughly enjoyed that. I loved his humor and most of all I loved the chemistry between Dru and Graves. They make a great duo, and I can't wait to read more about them. Actually, I found the chemistry between Dru, Graves, and Christophe to be pretty awesome as well. I loved how they had distinct personalities and I knew who was saying what without reading who said it (does that make sense?). The characters are just very well developed and fleshed out and I loved that they felt so real in between all the supernatural violence going on around them.
Strange Angels was fast paced and took me from one exciting situation to the next. It definitely made me excited to pick up Betrayals, which I will do as soon as I can get my hands on a copy.

While it has taken me a while to actually get to it, it didn't take away from my love for the first book, something that I was a bit afraid of. But this sequel is just as easy to read and addicting as the first book.
The chemistry between Bones and Cat is amazing. It's sizzling and realistic -- as far as realistic goes when you're talking about vampire relationships. I loved it. While Bones is a little too controlling in some cases, it doesn't really bother me all that much. It annoys me a bit in places, but because it fits his character, and the story, I don't mind. Bones is a fantastic character and I love him to bits.
The story isn't really that super special, if you ask me. The whole book rests solely on the relationship between Cat and Bones and that works brilliantly. They bicker, they make up.. And they have some steamy scenes between them. I don't usually use gifs in reviews, but this one was so fitting I couldn't pass this opportunity up.
Would I say no to Bones? Hell no.
But enough of that. I really liked the introduction of the new characters in this book, though some of them were pretty bloody annoying. The plot was fast paced and the story itself had plenty of action and I looooooove those kinds of books.
To be honest, there's not much for me to dislike. The only reason it's not getting a 5 star review is because I didn't love it and it didn't blow my socks off. But I will definitely be picking up At Grave's End and I'll even make sure not to wait two years before I do so. Definitely recommended to adult urban fantasy/paranormal romance lovers!

I love Showalters Lords of the Underworld series and was hoping this was just as good, but it wasn't. Even though it didn't live up to my expectations, this book was very enjoyable and I liked reading it.
My main issue with this book (the reason why I didn't like it so much), was that everything seemed to happen very easily. I like it when characters have to struggle a bit for what they want, but in this book, everything went pretty smoothly - except for one encounter with blood thirsty creatures. Everything pretty much worked out the way they wanted of the way they planned.
I liked Jane, but I had some problems to get to like Nicolai. I get it, he's this royal hottie who is used to getting what he wants, but it made him selfish and also made it harder for me as the reader to get to like him. In the end, he was still selfish, but he wasn't as bad as he was in the beginning.
This is the first book in a collaboration series of four books, and I'm curious to see what happens in book two, even though this book didn't blow my mind. It made an enjoyable read and it was just the easy read I was looking for at the moment I read it.

I would like Bones with a big red bow under my Christmas tree this year, please.
Why did I wait so long to pick up this book? It has great (and often funny) dialogue, kick-ass action scenes and of course, it has Bones, who made sure there were some steamy moments to enjoy. Me like!
Cat is a half-vampire, and she despises that part of her because her mother has fed her that she is a monster because she was conceived by a vampire, which resembles the devil, in her mother's opinion. Cat has never really been happy about who she is, and compensates that by taking out vampires at night. One night she runs into Bones - and he's not so easy to take down..
Bones takes Cat in to teach her all sorts of battle techniques and soon her reflexes are almost as good as Bones'. Combine those scenes with snarky and funny dialogue, one hot and steamy vampire hunk, and you've got yourself a very nice start of the Night Huntress series.
For me personally, I loved Bones. He even bumped Eric Northman from the top spot on my list, and I adore Eric. But nothing can really compare to Bones, to be honest. He has a British accent, is funny, dangerous, sexy as hell and those steamy scenes between Cat and Bones? Ooh lala.
Four big fat stars for Bones and Cat and I can't wait to find out about that steamy scene in book 2 that I've heard so much about.. If you're looking for a good paranormal romance series with great chemistry between the two main characters, Night Huntress will be a great start to the series for you!

Thankfully I love the series as a whole, so I will still be reading the rest of the series, but this book was a major in between book and never really climaxed in my opinion.
Now, don't get me wrong, it was still a really nice read. It just felt like Harris was tying up some loose ends before we work towards the climax in the last three books. Which will, no doubt about that, hold more adventure for Sookie, wether she wants it or not. Hopefully there'll be some Eric, too, as well as some Sam (he deserves more love!).
My overall rating: 3/5
Three stars filled with hope for epicness in the future. Sookie needs to kick more butt!
