This is the story of Robin Hood. Scarlet is one of the "merry en", the one we know as Will Scarlet. She has managed to keep her identity a secret from everyone. In fact only a handful of people actually know she is actually a girl.
She is extremely talented at not being noticed and stealing. She helps Robin mark people for highway toll stops and she is the go to person with needing to break someone out of prison. Things are going great for her and the guys until they hear that the Sheriff has brought in an expert thief catcher. Scarlet knows him from her life before Robin Hood and the gang and his presence threatens to bring her past to the present.
I really liked Scarlet. She was a smart girl and she had learned how to live on her own and to also take care of the people around her. She doesn't have the personality to turn her head when a stranger is being treated badly, she stands up and fights for what is right. I think that she is a great role-model, (thief occupation aside) for teens everywhere.
I also really liked Robin, John and Much. Robin was my favorite. He is the ultimate hero. He cares for Scarlet and is constantly looking over his shoulder to see where she is and tries to do things for her, even when she doesn't want him to.
The only problem that I had with the book is where you would normally say "was" they had "were" to show a lower class style of speech. It was really annoying for the first few chapters but after a while I wasn't noticing as much because the story got more intense.
Great Read and I recommend it to everyone!!...more

Her family wPersephone is the oldest of her siblings and took over the mother role when her own mother died after the birth of the youngest daughter. Her family wasn't wealthy and soon they wouldn't have anything to help her brothers or dowry for her sisters to entertain marriage prospects. One day an invitation of marriage comes for her from a Duke. This letter simply states that he would like to marry her and to come right before the ceremony.
Persephone marries Adam and goes about her new life in this huge castle all by herself. Adam is known by many to be angry, rude and sometimes violent and she doesn't know how to approach him and start a relationship with him. The only person consistently by his side is a childhood friend, Harry, and even their relationship is difficult with Adam always threatening Harry with death. All Harry ever does is laugh it off and go about his way. Persephone learns from observing Harry and Adam that she must be confident and show now weaknesses and he "might" let her into his life.
Slowly Adam and Persephone start to share a bond as they learn all the ins and outs of each other's personalities.
I love this story... It is sort of a prequel to Courting Miss Lancaster and I love how we get to see Harry and Adam's relationship. They are hilarious together because Harry is always pushing at Adams patience and Adam is constantly threatening him with throwing him out, duellings or death. I loved how Persephone saw past Adams disfigured ear and bad attitude and she saw the man underneath that no one else was willing to see.
I laughed out loud a lot reading this book. There is a little suspense at one point but overall this is just a fun, quick, clean read. ...more

She is thrilled to hear that James Lacey is attendingLady Jane Revaulx's husband dies and she begins service as a Queen's Lady with Queen Elizabeth. She is thrilled to hear that James Lacey is attending court. She was in love with him despite being courted by his older brother before eventually marrying her previous husband.
James is attending court in preparation for a surveying journey to the America's. He meets Jane at a buffet with the Queen and at first is horrified to see her. She dropped his brother when courting and married a man with a higher title. Luckily for Jane she is able to convince him of the true story and they are able to become closer.
As James is leaving for America, Jane's world falls apart. Her father and brother are forcing her into a marriage with a wealthy french man and her step-son's are trying to take back everything her late husband left for her to start her life over with. Jane's friends come together to help her figure everything out... while James be able to get back in time?
I'm not going to tell..... :-)
I didn't read the first book but Eve did a really good job at telling the back story so I wasn't lost. I love the historical stories and this one actually ties in with names and events. Jane's best friend has a spot doing the finishing work on dresses and I love the detail that the author did on the dresses. The ending of this story was a little rushed in my opinion but it is ok since I have the happier ever after that I want. I will look at the next book when it comes out in July 2012. ...more

London accidently gets thrown back in time about 150 years. There she meets Declan Devinn. He was a spy in the past for the English government and now he is trying to open a gentlemen's club to support his 5 siblings. When London arrives in a hidden closet of his parlor he is instantly attracted to her and offers her a room at his home. London is automatically accepted by his brother's and sisters and falls in love with Declan. She is arrested and thrown into jail for treason and later is kidnapped by a traitor to the Crown.
You get to see both London and Declan's sides to this story, plus a couple of the supporting characters which I love. So much is going on in the background while London is being held and it was nice to have the other points of view to tell the whole story. It was easy to follow the changes in view as well. I really enjoy time travel books and this one didn't disapoint. ...more
