Janie is a Seeker. Her job is to protect humanity from vampires, demons and a half breed called Daywalkers. While she is out she runs across Kai. He moves like a Daywalker and but he doesn't give off the same vibes as one. Slowly she gets to know him and finds that there are more human traits to him. As time passes Kai keeps coming out of nowhere and saving her life and soon they develop a friendship/partnership. Together the two of them learn more about a new threat on her town and need to stop it before more people are in danger.
Janie is a strong girl and a bit reckless. She has been training to be a seeker for the majority of her life and it is a job that she is very good at. I like that she was able to go beyond what she has always been told about Daywalkers and she was able to get to know Kai enough to see that they really were on the same side and appearances don't always make the man. Because of this trait she was able to gain more allies in her fight against the evil she needed to fight.
Kai was awesome. He was a great fighter with a dark past/secret that terrified him. He made sure that he was always available to help Janie and he worked hard at keeping her safe. I like that even though he wanted to protect her he also let her do things on her own.
Some of the other characters were great. There is a vampire named Tanya that I loved. At first you just see her as a pretty face to stand beside the vampire leader but she was funny and could kick but in heels. Her mom and her trainer were even pretty cool towards the end of the book.
This was a pretty good story and I have already recommended it to others to read. Even better is that this is only book one in the series, book two is scheduled to be released this year! (less)

I am all about demons and hunters and I like that the Templar's bond themselves to a demon to become stronger. This story is written from the point of view of Dupree and Kara. I really like when authors do this because I am able to see more of the story and feel more emotions.
Kara was a fun character. She was smart and goal oriented. She could also fight and was willing to do so even if she wasn't as strong as the other Templar's. I liked the back and forth between her and Dupree. She knew she wanted him and to do so she had to chip away at his willpower until he gave up trying to protect her. I thought she did a wonderful job.
Dupree was a strong hero that has already had a long and hard life. He was always thinking of others before himself and he made a great friend to most of the major characters, even those of a different species.
This was a quick, fun read. This is an adult paranormal so there are sex scenes described.(less)

They have all had really hard lives and still just want to do good. And for a demon that is saying a lot!! Lore is forced to choose between finishing an assignment from his master and the only woman that has ever made him feel love. Idess is put between a rock and a hard place when she is trying to keep everyone alive. I like that Idess was a really strong female character. She could hold a sword/dagger and fight with the best of them and she didn't stand down from a challenge or opponent.
Usually in romance stories there is a ton of he said she said and both parties usually miss the point, but with this story I didn't really notice it as much. I don't know if there wasn't as much back and forth as other books or if I just loved the characters enough to not mind.
There is also a lot of story told from the other characters so we still get to see into E's mind and the bad guy and there is a lot more history told about the angels and what they can and can't do. Plus Reaver makes a couple appearances in this book too.
Warning, this book includes strong language and sexual situations. (less)

She has been charmed by angles so that no physical charm can fall on her and no demons can know about that charm. Unfortunately that charm has been found out by a very powerful demon with his mind set on a VERY evil plan. Now demons can sense her and who she is.
Wraith is poisoned with a toxin that has no cure and the only way to save him, the hospital and his two brothers is to take Serena's charm so he wont die. The problem is Wraith meets Serena and actually likes her.
Ok, so I really like Wraith, he is the youngest of the three Seminus demons. He has lived such a hard and tortured life that I just want everything to go well for him. In his story he has to push past his rules of never being with a human and I love the struggle he has with liking Serena or saving his brothers. We get to hear a lot more about what life was like for him and we see the effects from his point of view, not just the brothers.
This book also continues the story of Jem and Kynan. Jem is Tayla's sister (book 1) and is also a half demon (soul shredder). Kynan is ex-military/ex-demon slayer/ex-ish-demon hospital doctor. His wife cheated on him with a demon and was selling parts in the black market, after that betrayal he didn't want to love again. Jem always loved Kynan and when he wanted nothing to do with her and her demon side she finally was ok with that. But of course the two of them are strongly attracted to each other. Right when you think they are going to get together the army comes in and takes Kynan to study him.... apparently he has some fallen angel blood. Seeing there story continue was so needed in this book because book 2 left us on a complete cliff hanger. (less)

He was mad that they chose Pandora to guard a box filled with demon spirits, he should have been given that right. He and the other warriors decided to open the box to prove that Pandora wasn't strong enough and they are cursed to live with the spirits that they released on the earth. Maddox was given violence to be his companion.
One day the security camera's pick up a woman wondering around outside the fortress and that is when Maddox meets Ashlyn. Ashlyn has always had the ability to hear every conversation that has ever taken place in a single spot. Her entire life she has wanted to be normal, she has wanted to have peace and quiet. While in Budapest on an assignment with her work, she finds paranormal beings to be studied by a research center, she hears of these men that might be able to help her control this power. She is lost in the forest near there fortress in the snow and she is just about and give up to the cold when Maddox saves her.
Maddox is instantly drawn to her but he is weary, she may be a lure used by his enemies. He finds that he wants to be with her more then he cares about death. He questions her and doesn't think that she is guilty of anything be he suspects that there is more going on with the people she works with. Ashlyn is also drawn to Maddox in a very sexual way, but also when she is with him all of the voices and conversations silence. She has never had quiet before and now she never wants to leave him.... at least not until she can learn how to silence the voices herself. Can they each find peace in each other?
I had a hard time with this story at first. I understand that this is the first book in a series so there are a lot of people to meet and a world to build, but it felt like it went on and on. There was a lot of thought in this book, more then dialogue at some parts. Maddox would say something to Ashlyn and then she would think about a ton of stuff before finally answering the question or responding to what he said and vice versa. Once the story got going, almost at the end of the book, it was pretty good. It did end a little too easy for my liking though. Again, like I said earlier, this is a first book and I am hoping that now since I know the characters and the setting the other books will move a little quicker. PS, this is an ADULT ROMANCE (less)

Only now she isn't the human he once new, she is now a werewolf. Shade and Runa are being held by the Ghouls (black market demon-parts brokers) and find out that Shade's brother Rogue is the one behind it all. Rogue has the ability to get into peoples minds and he convinces them to bond to each other. This is a lifetime bond which could be difficult enough if the two did love each other but to make matters worse, Shade is cursed to fade away into Shadow if he ever falls in love.
Runa and Shade are able to break out of their prison and hide away in Costa Rica trying to figure everything out. Shade has accidentally been turned into a werewolf and it is the full moon so both of them have to chain up for a few days.
At first Runa and Shade dislike each other emotionally but physically is a different story. But you know ... were the body goes the mind soon follows.
We also get to see a lot more of Wraith, Jem and Kynan. This story is not for young audience. There is a lot of sex and detail. The actual story line is pretty good. I was sitting at the edge of my seat for some of the action/fight scenes and the more I learn of the ongoing characters the more I like them and want everyone to be safe and happy. (less)

When the assignments are made at the beginning of her sophmore year she finds that she is to be a ..... fairy slayer?? Is there such a thing?
She spends the next few weeks hating Curtis, the boy that is assigned to be the dragon slayer. All that does is gets her into troublewith the principle at school and she manages to become the laughing stock of the school when she is caught in an explosion at the mall while hunting fairies. To make matters worse she is now paired up with Curtis on an assignment and they now have to teach eachother about their slaying abilities.
Fairies are hard to deal with, not that they are evil but those little flying monsters make fun of her clothes, throw candy at her and just make her life miserable, plus there is no known way to kill them.
Trouble finds her on campus but she is the only one that can see it. No one believes that this creature exsits and it is up to her to save the world.
I loved this book. The fairies were adorable and so funny. I liked all of her friends, Curtis was great as a firend/love interest/slayer. Loni is her best friend and is a wiz with technology. Then there was Tyler who loves to gamble and has a five-legged cockroach as a pet. The only thing I wish was different is the ages of Emma and her friends, they were only fifteen years old. It would have been nice if they were 17-18 years old.(less)

Her day job is an assistant manager in a local bookstore. She has the opportunity to meet her favorite author, Seth Mortensen, and slowly befriends him. Tragedy strikes the local immortal community and Georgina starts to investigate. Through her doings we get to meet great characters both mortal and immortal. I liked the supporting characters even though we don't get to know them all very well. There is a high demon (her boss), a high powered angel, a few vampires that she hangs out with, a mortal understands a lot about the immortal and a bunch of mortals that all blend together very nicely. This book had a few parts where I laughed outloud and I was honestly realy anxious to find out the ending. This is a series that I can't wait to finish.
Note to reader... Georgina is a Succubus so by default there is going a couple/few sex scenes.(less)

I loved the idea of a part human-part demon girl slaying vampires. Along the way she meets up with Fang. He is a cute dog (that happens to be part hellhound) with the best personality. Some of his comments, yes he can talk but only to Val, were so hilarious and had me laughing out loud. Because of Val's talent at slaying vampires she joins up with a special police unit and is partnered up with Dan. Val and Dan make a great team on the job but are also pretty compatible on their down time. Both characters had flaws and it made me like them and actually care what was going to happen. I loved Dan's sister, Val's sister and especially Rick (stepdad). I really didn't like the mom and how she couldn't look past the demon so see and love her own daughter. I did like that even though the mom was completely unreasonable (in the way she acted and the things she said to Val) Val didn't let it cripple her. She knew what she was and she was trying to find her place in the world. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. (less)

There is a passion between E and Tayla almost instantly.
Someone is hunting down demons and collecting their parts to sell on the blackmarket. E thinks that the slayers are at fault and Tayla swears that they aren't so they team up to try and find the culprit. There is fighting, an explosion, some therapy, espionage and a ton of sex.

I loved Aimee and Alan and even though crazy things were happening they were able to see past the ridiculous and do what was needed. It was interesting to see the changes that the people in town were going through throughout this story. It started of small with adjustments in attitudes to full on 180 degree changes. People that were normally friendly to everyone were suddenly starting fights with strangers. I liked that we were slowly put into the craziness instead of just thrown into complete chaos.
I really liked the Native American aspects that this book had. Alan was sure he was Native American but not 100% on which tribe, although he believed he was Navajo. Because of the uncertainty of the tribe he was able to draw on legends and customs of a lot more tribes and I liked that.
This is definitely going to be a book that I will re-read many times over. Great Read!!(less)
