It was even better than the first one, which is no easy feat. I love that the people in these books are people from history (and mythology) I am a history nerd myself, so whenever a book incorporates anything historical I swoon a bit.
The storyline is action packed and fast paced. I like how they switch of between the main characters. Each chapter is from a different perspective and they rotate through the twins and flamel and pernelle. There are also chapters from Dee and Machiavelli's perspective as well. The author goes just far enough with each storyline to keep you interested and he always stops with you wanting more. Then he switches over to another person. I found this style very engrossing.
I love the magic and the creatures you meet in this series, and I cannot wait to read the next installment.
I am so worried that something is going to come between sophie and josh, and my fingers are crossed that nothing does.
One of the best books I have read in a while(less)

And good for this series means great by normal book series, in my opinion. I really enjoyed it but I enjoyed previous books more. This book was a bit sadder than some of the others, with the whole Bill thing going on and not nearly enough Eric for my tastes.
While I really like Quinn, I LOVE Eric. So its hard for me, because Quinn is so good for her and he is such a great guy, err Tiger, but I love Sookie and Eric for me. But because Quinn is so wonderful its hard for me to dislike him and to root for Sookie and Quinn to not work out. But that is what I am rooting for because I want her and Eric to get together already! He has grown on me so much!

I know that I can pick up any book of hers confidently, knowing that I will enjoy it. This book was no different. It looks like it is going to be a GREAT series! This book did a really nice job of setting everything up and from the way this book ended, I cannot wait to read the next book ASAP!
I am loving my mythology books recently and this is such a great addition to their ranks. After reading The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter I kind of fell in love with Hades. So I could not wait to pick up another underworld mythology series. This book was very different than The Goddess Test, but it was equally wonderful!
I liked the setting. I am from Florida so I know the keys area well and I liked seeing everything come to life in a setting that I could easily imagine. Pierce is really cool, and I felt so bad for her that trouble always seems to follow her around, and as a result people don't think very highly of her. I hate it when character's that I like get a bad rep by the other characters. I do hope they get what they deserve in the other books. And there is just something about John...I want to see more of him, for sure!
Abandoned incorporates the concept of the Furies into this book, and I really enjoyed that aspect. It was a good addition to the mythology. I was interested in this book from page one, but once I got to the middle of the book I could not put it down. I seriously did not even want to stop reading to go and eat dinner with my family.
Great book, this series looks like it is going to be AWESOME!

I felt like I was reading a teen version of Ocean's 11. (which is one of my favorite movies) This book was really cute and very fast paced. There were no slow parts or parts where I was bored.
I liked all the characters too. Kat was very likable. She was strong and smart and she managed to pull off being a thief while still being a good person. I just wanted to push her into Hale's arms the entire book. I kept reading and thinking, "on the next page something is going to happen between Hale and Kat" and then most of time nothing happened.
So I am hoping in the next book more happens between the two of them.
I am also a big sucker for art and museums, so I loved hearing all the descriptions of the paintings and the Henley. All of the heist planning was really interesting for me too. It got me thinking and had me trying to piece together their plot. That kept me really engaged in the storyline. A few times, however; a lot was going on at once and I found myself having to re-read a paragraph to keep from getting confused. But that's only because there were a lot of high action scenes in this book.
Great book! I look forward to seeing what will happen next, and I can only hope to see more Hale/Kat interaction.

For whatever reason, they did not seem interesting to me. But when this book was 99 cents on ibooks, I figured I would give it a shot.
I am so glad I did, because I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I know that I will like the series. This book was interesting and inventive.
It is about a girl, Ash, that can see the fair folk. She has kept this a secret her whole life but now they are taking an interest in her.
I really liked that Ash did not fall at the summer king's feet. I liked that she resisted him and stood up for herself. She is a very strong-willed, yet shy girl. I loved the balance of strength and fragility she displayed.
and I can't even begin to describe how much I love Seth. He took everything in stride and never seemed to be flustered. I cannot wait to see how their relationship grows in the other books.
I am interested to see what will happen to Donia next. I liked her more than I thought I would, and I hope my opinion of her does not lessen in the next book.
Of course I do hope Keenan takes more of an interest in Ash too because who doesn't like a good love triangle?

It was a fast read, and it was interesting enough. But nothing really popped out at me. I sat down to read this book and a few hours later I was done, and while it held my interest for me to read it all in one shot, it didn't do too much else for me. I read this book as part of a read-a-thon, so maybe that was why I read it all in one shot. I liked the characters and the concept intrigues me, but nothing major happened for me. It didn't make me feel overly happy, or sad or excited.
That's not to say it was a bad book, it was well written and a good read. I just did not love it. I like my books to grab my emotions- to make me feel something. Whether it is happiness, or being surprised, and even if it is anger at a character or sadness. I just want to be engaged in what I am reading. There were not many twists and turns. It was a predictable read, pleasant enough- but steady throughout the whole book.
I liked the main character towards the end, when she grew a little bit and started to care about other people- but for most of the book she was kind of cold. That might have been my real problem with the book. I am a sucker for main characters. I want to become their biggest fan and their best friend. But to do that I need to connect with them or relate to them at some level. It was really hard to do that here. Cass was really unapproachable. Tim was nice, but also kind of annoying at times. I was able to relate to him more than Cass though, for the most part.
I think my favorite part of the book were the ghosts. The Ghosts that Cass talks to at school are funny, and I loved how into the gossip and drama they were. And Cass's sister was also a more dynamic character than Cass was for me. I would like to read more about the Ghosts. And if Cass sticks to her revelations and breakthroughs she found at the end of the book, I would probably really enjoy reading more stories about her.
The author did a good job with the writing in this book and for that reason I would definitely give another one of her books a try. (less)
