Their shelter will be Korbie's family cabin, but as normal things do not go to plan because of a freak snowstorm which strands them miles from the cabin. They seek shelter at another cabin with Shaun and Mason, but what secrets are these guys hiding and will the girls get off the mountain alive?
To find out the answers the the questions above you will have to read the novel. I really enjoyed this novel, but it did take me a long time to read only because I was busy and couldn't do much reading. The novel was a bit slow during the middle of it as there was not much action or things happening in general in my opinion. However, it did pick up more towards the end when you found out answers and action occurred. I was not expecting it to be revealed that ..... was the killer. To find out who please read the novel, I'm sure you will love it.
At first I thought the girls were spoiled brats so I didn't like them that much. Only because I found out that Britt got the men in her life to do almost everything for her and Korbie seemed to get everything she wanted because she was her father's favourite child. I thought that was a bit unfair on Korbie's brother Calvin. I loved Mason the first time he came into the novel and loved him more throughout the novel. Mason would do anything for the people he loved and wanted to get the girls off the mountain alive and in one piece. Shaun was kind of a stuck up jerk who only cared about himself and no one else.
The action starts from the first page, but slows down towards the middle. However, it speeds up again towards the end of the novel when you start to get answers and find out what really happened to the missing girls. I loved the ending to this novel as I think it tied the lose ends all together. The romance throughout this novel was done really well and tied in well with the crime/murder element to the storyline. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. Therefore, I am giving this novel 4 out of 5 stars. If you love novels by Becca Fitzpatrick or just love crime/thriller novels then this is definitely a book for you. ...more

The Farm is where humans are sent to keep them safe, but their blood is also used to feed the vampires who come out at night. Mel is autistic so cannot communicate properly so Lily has to help her with everything and take care of them as there parents sent them to the Farm. Carter is the guy who comes to the farm they are on to try to save the twins, but what is his ulterior motive behind this act?
Normally books which change between characters each chapter annoy me as I tend to find it hard to follow the story and what is happening to each character. However, this book just flowed and I didn't have trouble following it at all as it tended to change perspectives every chapter. The book was filled with suspense, action, a bit of romance and horror. Throughout reading you didn't know if the characters in the book were going to make it to the end of the book. I was shocked by the end of the novel as I wasn't expecting that to happen. To find out what happens you will have to read the book.
Lily and Mel were good main characters as they were really brave and all they wanted was a normal live somewhere which wasn't the farm. Mel was the smart one who, although unable to communicate properly, came up with a plan of how they could get off the farm. Lily was the brave one who would do anything to get off the farm and protect her sister. However, both the twins were brave in their own individual ways. Carter was also a good character because he would do anything to protect Lily and Mel from the vampires.
Overall, I gave this book 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed reading this book as it was filled with suspense. I just wanted to keep reading it til I finished it, but obviously couldn't as I had to do other stuff aswell. However, I loved reading this book and would definitely recommend it to people who like vampire novels. It is quite a quick read aswell as a lot of the chapters are really short. A definite must read for supernatural and horror fans. Grab a copy and enjoy book lovers!!!!!!...more

However, when Hartley goes to confront Josh at his house she finds Courteney's dead body. This leads her into a world of murder, intrigue and mystery. Everyone believes Josh is the killer, but did he really do it? Who is the real killer? It's up to Hartley to find out the answers.
Hartley was a good main female character because she was determined to find out the truth about who actually killed Courteney. This lead her on a long and dangerous adventure with the help of her best friend Sam and Chase (the gothic bad boy). Hartley can be described as courageous, brave, smart and reliable. However, she does spill details of her investigation to the police and tv crews really easily when she hasn't really found out any new information yet.
Chase and Sam were also good characters because they made the perfect team with Hartley. They were all determined to find out who the killer was. Chase was described as the bad gothic boy who you didn't know if he was good or bad/killer or innocent suspect in Hartley's investigation. Hartley and Chase made the ultimate investigating team in my opinion because they both used their knowledge and the evidence they had to crack the murder case. Courteney wasn't a popular person so there were lots of suspects in her murder.
Throughout the whole of this novel you were kept guessing as to who the killer could be. When you thought you had guessed the killer another piece of action would happen or another piece of evidence would be found. So the whole way through you kept changing your mind as to who the killer actually was, even coming up with your own bizarre storylines as to what could have happened (but didn't). This novel contained mystery, intrigue, action, murder and kept you guessing throughout the whole novel as you could never guess who the killer actually was. Overall, I give this novel 5/5 stars as I really enjoyed it and would definitely read it again (even though I now know who did it). This was a fast paced novel and readers will definitely enjoy it so get reading Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday. ...more

Each chapter switches from 1 character to another out of those 3 characters. This is a lot different from her previous novels I have read as this is basically more of a romance novel. Her other novels have been full of intrigue, suspense and sometimes even murder. So it was a change for me to read a romance novel by Susanne Dunlap, but I really loved this novel.
This wasn't my favourite novel by Susanne so far, but it was still really good. Eliza was my favourite female character because she was fearless, brave, up for carrying out dangerous plans and desperately searching for someone to love her. However, Hortense and Madeleine were also looking for guys to love them. The character I didn't like much was Caroline because she was bossy, sometimes rude to people and didn't really do well in group situations. Although, I was happy that her character found love.
The guys in this story were genuine and lovely guys who only wanted to protect the girls they loved. However, in some cases throughout the novel this wasn't entirely possible. I wasn't really expecting the ending that the novel actually had, so that came as a bit of a surprise. The romance throughout the novel was good, but it was sad in some parts.
Overall, I gave this novel 4/5 stars. This was a brilliant novel, but there wasn't enough intrigue, suspense and tension for me. However, I found that this was a great romance novel and I don't normally tend to read romance novels. Although, I have read romance novels by Simone Elkeles and now Susanne Dunlap. It wasn't as good as Simone Elkeles's romance novels, but it was almost as good. Definitely worth a read if you love historical romance novels. ...more

This novel has, in my opinion, a gorgeous cover as it gives you the prom feel with the sparkly tiara. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel as it is a quick read if you have lots of time to read.
The basic storyline of this novel is basically Aggie having to deal with her best friend Sylvia's problems, wheter she (Aggie) should get back together with her ex-Neil and school prom drama/problems. Aggie is a brilliant female character who a lot of teenagers can relate to. She rebels against her parents quite a lot (by becoming a Goth) and she is very opinionated and just tells things how she sees them.
As the novel progresses you learn more about what kind of people Sylvia and Neil really are. Aggie also finds out who she can really trust with the stuff she knows. The main context of this story is about being a teenager and having to deal with all kinds of school, friendship and relationship problems.
Overall, this was a brilliant novel and I really enjoyed reading it. My rating is 4/5 stars. I would recommend this to everyone to read once it has been released in August. This book is highly recommended to teenagers as it relates very well to teenagers and how to deal with school/prom problems. ...more

Jamie is a good female character as she goes through some of the same problems that other teenage girls have to face. Problems such as crushes, health problems and job problems. The best male character in this novel in my opinion is Sebastian because he really identifies with the problems which Jamie is going through and he really likes her so he would do anything to help her.
For people who haven't read this novel the main premise of the novel (from the blurb on the back) is that Jamie becomes an au-pair in Little Bly for a young girl called Isa. However, when Jamie gets to Little Bly she finds out that the previous au-pair for Isa, called Jessie, died the previous summer in a plane crash. Jamie then finds out that she looks exactly like the dead girl Jessie and everyone is shocked by their identical appearances.
This whole novel is filled with ghosts, intrigue and mystery. However, to find out what happens throughout this novel means you must read it for yourself or else you will never know. I only gave this book 4/5 stars as I felt it was missing a bit of action from the story. If the story contained more action with the ghosts then it would have got the full 5 stars. However, this was a brilliant novel and I suggest that everyone read it if you like mystery ghost novels. If you are a fan of Adele Griffin's novels then you definitely need to give this a read and soon. ...more
The main characters in this novel are Meg and Shar. As an overview of what this novel is about is that Meg and Shar get recruited by Hades (leader ofThe main characters in this novel are Meg and Shar. As an overview of what this novel is about is that Meg and Shar get recruited by Hades (leader of the Underworld) to become his new sirens. They have a mission to lure their celebrity target to the door of the Underworld. Shar is the girly girl who loves anything pink, whereas Meg is the tomboy who loves anything which is black. With this book I received 2 phone charms which are to do with this story. The phone charms were of kitty cats, one was pink (Shar) and the other was black (Meg). They represented each of the characters and you find out why they are a part of this novel if you give it a read.
Meg and Shar are brilliant female characters because they don't get along all the time. They are just like lots of other groups of friends who have their arguments. The girls are always disagreeing about what their plan should be to try and get their target to the door of the Underworld. Nothing ever goes right when there are people who want you to fail your task. What the girls don't know when they agree to work for Hades is that each time they use their siren powers the more they turn into a bird. Meg's power is to lure people by talking to them. Shar's power is to lure people by looking at them. However, their powers only work on men and not women.
Within this novel I would consider the main male characters as Jeremy, Mr Romanov and Hades. Jeremy is the person who starts the whole Surenz cycle. However, Hades is the one who employs the girls to become his new Sirenz. Jeremy is described as a gorgeous guy who has an eye for Meg, but does Meg feel the same way for him? The main way to describe Hades is devious, a trickster and menacing. Jeremy I will describe as the perfect teenage gentleman, good looking and charming.
If you love novels about hell and the underworld then this is definitely the novel for you. Hades is a devil who always has tricks up his sleeve. He is always trying to get one of the girls to be with him. I can't tell you who, however, as this would be considered a spoiler. The characters of the underworld are all really good as they each bring something different to the story line of the novel.
This is a brilliant novel which I believe everyone needs to check out. It is the debut team novel by Charlotte Bennardo and Natalie Zaman (not each authors first novel, but first team novel). My overall rating for this novel is 4/5 stars. If you love stories about hell, the underworld and supernatural beings then this is a novel for you. Check it out as soon as you lay your hands on a copy. ...more

However, all these mistakes will be corrected in the finished version of the book I'm sure.
This book was the perfect mix of war and romance. The romance throughout the story contained Molly, Emma and their gentlemen. The premise of the story is about a group of nurses being sent to Turkey to help the wounded men from the Crimea War. Molly was the main character throughout the whole story, however Miss Nightingale did play a big role throughout this novel. Will was a good male character because he cares so much about Molly, whereas Dr Maclean helps Molly become a much better nurse in the warzone.
As this story progressed I kept trying to guess what would happen to each of the characters, but with some it was really hard to guess what was going to happen. This was good because it made me want to keep reading the novel just to find out what happens next. The ending was quite sad and makes you want to cry. However, the end of the novel is also really happy, so the ending is a mix of sadness and happiness. If you want to find out what I'm talking about then you will just have to read this novel to find out.
I really enjoyed the first novel I read by Susanne Dunlap which was The Musician's Daughter. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this novel. Susanne is a brilliant author and I love the way she writes because she puts so much description into her work. The scenes in her novels are very detailed, you find out a lot about the characters and there is a mix of war/crime and romance. By rating for this book is 5/5 stars and I would recommend this book to everyone. I really enjoyed it and I think you will aswell so everyone needs to go out and buy their own copy. ...more

From the moment she touches ground from the jump she finds that everything has changed and she has been missing for 6 and a half years. Throughout the novel Michaela has to make a lot of choices after she comes back. For example she must choose between her new love and her ex boyfriend (boyfriend when she disappeared) and whether or not to look after his ex-best friend's son.
The mystery of Michaela's disappearance has yet to be solved, but you are left thinking whether 2 of the main characters had anything to do with the missing 6 and half years of her life. Some theories are put forward throughout this story as to what could have happened during the missing 6 and half years of Michaela's life. However, you do not actually find out what happened to her. It would have been good to find out the truth as to Michaela's disappearance so I was a bit disappointed that you never found that out. Overall, the whole story was really good as there was lots happening to keep you immersed within the book. The book also had a lot of tension as Michaela found out certain home truths and the action packed ending.
The writing within this novel is very good as it contains a lot of detail and keeps you immersed within the story unfolding. The unfolding story makes you want to keep reading so you can find out what really happened to Michaela. Regarding the language used I would not recommend this book to younger readers as it contains swearing and some sexual content which young readers shouldn't read about. This is more of a 16+ book. The story unfolds at it's own pace as so much happens before you actually find out what happened.
The characters within the book are very good. Michaela is a great main female character as she is a caring woman (cares for Abbey and Tristan), she has been through a traumatic experience and come out the other side of it and she just seems like someone you would want to have as your friend. Kevin, on the other hand, does seem a bit weird as he keeps calling the female characters names like toots and babes. That can be a bit annoying as he does it continuously. Matt seems like a gorgeous guy who Michaela deserves to be with with, but she makes the right choice in going back to Calum as she can have a stable family home with him and be a proper family with him and Abbey.
Abbey is the perfect teenager has she is going through the rebellious stage of her life, but she is also caring (cares for Michaela, her father and Tristan) and wants to have Michaela back at home acting as her mother figure. Ingrid is a bit of a horrible character who I didn't really like much as she was rude to Michaela, partly drunk in the chapter at her home in Brighton and abandons her son with Michael to run off with her boyfriend (her boyfriend beats Tristan). Finally, Calum was a good main character as you felt sorry for him having to go through the cancer on his own until Michaela comes back. You also feel sorry for him when he tries to take his own life and to have his daughter being the one who found him was so hard on him.
Overall, this was a really good book which I throughly enjoyed reading. The book does contain 59 chapters, but they are pretty short chapters so if you are a quick reader it won't take you long to get through this book. My overall rating for this boom would be 4.5/5. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery novels with a touch of romance within them. ...more
