To imagine this story just think of A Christmas Carol (by Charles Dickens) with zombies. Scrooge has to stop the world from being taken over by zombies. He does this with the help of the demon hunters (Past, Present and Future) who are able to travel throughout time. For example, they are able to take Scrooge into the future so he can see what happens when zombies rule the world. Definitely a book to read if you love zombie stories or if you want to read A Christmas Carol with a supernatural twist.

The range of stories contained within this book is really good as some you will like and some you will not like. There are around 15 stories within this and I didn't like 4 of the stories because they bored me a bit and weren't as good as others.
The story by Charlaine Harris is a Sookie Stockhouse one. So fans of True Blood will hopefully like that story in my opinion, even though it doesn't contain the vampire Bill. This book contains werewolves, murder, dogs, vampires (in one of two stories) and other supernatural creatures. Definitely check this anthology book out especially if you like werewolf stories or stories about supernatural creatures. ...more

SoThe television series on ITV2 is based on the Vampire Diaries novels by L.J.Smith. However, the tv series is very different from the actual novels.
Some of the differences include Elena having a 4 year old sister called Margaret, her aunt is called Judith, Caroline is her enemy (not her best friend), Elena has a best friend called Meredith and some of the surnames of characters have changed aswell. For example, Tyler Lockwood (in the tv series) is called Tyler Smallwood in the books. Another difference is that in the novels Vickie is not Matt's sister like she is in the tv series.
I really liked reading the first 2 novels in the Vampire Diaries series, but I have to remember the differences between the tv series and the books. It will be easy to get them mixed up sometimes. However, it was good to read how the tv series should have been made if they followed the novel outline.
The end of book 2 did surprise me though as I wasn't expecting that ending. I would say what happens, but that would be a massive spoiler for people who have not read this novel yet. However, it can be said that you will be in for a shock when you read book 3 in the series. Elena and Stefan are destined to be together, but how can that happen when Damon is always standing in their way. Damon is determined to make Elena his possession.
Stefan is the ultimate good guy and Damon is the ultimate bad guy, but these 2 are bonded by blood. However, they would kill each other if it meant they could be with Elena. Overall, I give this novel 4.5/5 stars. If you love the tv series of the Vampire Diaries you definitely need to read the books in the series. Once you have finished book 2 in this novel you must carry on to book 3 as you will be in for a shock....more
