A nice quick easy read. I found myself laughing and getting excited/nervous for the characters and cheering them on. This book is about 3 sisters who, as the title says, wise up. Its a great book about sisterhood, relationships, forgiving and moving on. The story is told by all three sisters- Sarah, Zoe, and Ally. There is something I just love about getting a different perspective, attitude and overall personality each chapter. It keeps things interesting I guess.(less)

This was a good short mystery with a nice twist at the end. I kind of feel like the end was wrapped up rather quickly - but still pretty decent.(less)

There is definitely a little "girl power" aspect to this book - though I'm sure Tina Fey would want me to say it is empowering period - no matter who decides to pick up this book. She points out a lot in the book about her struggles and some of the injustices in the comedy and TV world and how she pushed through them and proved a few people wrong along the way. The book was pretty funny, but there was no laughing out loud for me. Just a lot of "ha!' moments.
This book didn't receive more than 3 stars from me because of how it was laid out. I'm not a big fan of lists and how-to points, even if they are a bit humorous. I don't care to read bits of SNL script, charts and I don't really need pictures in my books :-P Some of the references were lost on me, but overall I "got" most of it... even though I don't watch 30 rock (she doesn't spend but a couple chapters on it) and I only watch SNL when I'm interested in who is hosting!
Over all though, good book. If your a fan of Tina Fey, I'm sure you'd like it! It's a quick read and you can definitely tell Tine Fey wrote it. You can hear hear when your reading it. (less)

Basically this story is about a girl learning to hold her own in the world. To stop allowing her best friend to walk all over her... But she does this by SLEEPING WITH HER BEST FRIENDS FIANCE. Even after that she still can't seem to grow a pair. Eventually she finds her balls and acts like a grown up.
Parts of this story ended as I predicted, while some parts didn't end up the way I wanted them to. Which leads me to the next book... "Something Blue" should I read it? In the end I think I will. The BOOK was good, a page turner that kept me wanting to read, it was just the main character I didn't care for. I think the next book is told from a different perspective though... Darcy's, the best friend.... thought she wasn't any better than Rachel.

Technically this was the first book - though in my opinion it doesn't really matter what order you read them in. The book was kind of interesting at first because I was discovering the connections between the two books... In the end though, I feel like the story was a little bland. The story itself jumps between past and present time, which keeps things interesting but at times I felt like I was reading the same things over and over again as the main character, Arlene, constantly worried. Every time Arlene glimpses back into the past we get a little more of the story...and it unfolds. It turns out, in the end that Arlene hasn't kept her promises to God after all. She promised not to lie,...but in reality, all she did was lie to herself.
Meh, it was okay - But if I were going to pick between the two - Backseat Saints was much better!(less)
