Ana is an outcast at school because she is one of two actual witches at her school. On her 16th birthday she is expected to go through her initiation to become a true witch and member of the coven. The only problem is she hasn't been able to muster any magic. She has been faking it but can sense magic building and when someone around her is using it.
Just as she is getting ready to go to her initiation, she opens the door to meet her father for the first time ever who turns out to be a vampire. He is actually the Prince of the vampires which makes her a vampire princess. The one thing I found truly irritating about this book was the way no one really answers her questions which I would be demanding to know. Her Dad assumes someone else has told her and her Mom refuses to talk to her about it.
Then there are the two guys--another love triangle. Nikolai is a true witch/vampire hunter who has had a crush on Ana for some time and enjoys her honesty. He is in a band but has been training to kill vampires and hate them his whole life. Can he overcome his instincts and still be with Ana? Can Ana trust him to not betray her by killing one of the vamps?
Then there is Elias who is Knight in the Dark Realm and appointed protector of the Princess, Ana. He is dashing and gentlemanly and her fills Ana in on most vampire culture. Ana ends up tied to him so but if she doesn't she won't be able to have access to her Vampire side.
In the end, Ana discovers a unique power all her own but is torn between two worlds. I am very excited to see where this goes from here. It was a very easy read as I finished in a day....more

Dancia Lewis has always tried to blend in and keeps people at arms length on purpose. She is afraid of a mysterious power that she has that seems to make things happen when people is close to are threatened. Out of the blue, she is recruited for the prestigous Delcroix Academy.
Before going to Delcroix Academy, she meets the dark and brooding Jack who also end up as a recruited student. Jack is the one who I want to root for and I was slightly disappointed that he seems to be on the dark side. But the thing about this book is that you are never really sure who is telling the truth. Even when it ends you are not sure that Dancia has made the best choice or that Delcroix is on the side of good.
Cameron is the recruiter who comes to visit Dancia and takes her under his wing. Cameron is your typical hearthrob and I was always supicious of him. Even in the end, I personally wished she would choose Jack and she may in the future. I don't if that is just because I as a reader connected to him or that I like to root for the dark hero. This reminds me alot of X-men with some LJ Smith thrown in. But I liked it and look forward to seeing where the series goes from here....more
