This book has been a favorite of mine since I read it in highschool. I think it's a must read for everyone, it's an amazing book. The characters are incredible and the story is painful and triumphant at the same time. There's never a dull moment in this book, it definitely keeps my interest on every page. I also love the whole "circle plot" in books - where the beginning is the ending and the ending is the beginning, etc. I've only come across that in a few books, but every time I think it has a wonderful effect. THE OUTSIDERS is one of those books that will stick with you long after you've read it, it's simply perfect. I highly recommend this book!
"Things were rough all over, but it was better that way. That way you could tell the other guy was human too."

I was completely impressed with ANGELS & DEMONS, and THE DA VINCI CODE definitely lived up to my expectations as Book 2. The characters were great, the detail incredible, the setting wonderful, but it was the codes and puzzles and the hunt that really kept me attached to this book. Non-stop suspense and mystery, I loved it! I was guessing my way throughout the entire book, some things I had right, and others I had no idea, but once it was all brought together it was an awesome, creative story that kept me intrigued with every single page. I loved the ending, I wasn't disappointed with any part of THE DA VINCI CODE. I'm really looking forward to reading the next Robert Langdon book now! I highly recommend these books! :)
Langdon ~ "These books can't possibly compete with centuries of established history, especially when that history is endorsed by the ultimate bestseller of all time." Faukman ~ "Don't tell me Harry Potter is actually about the Holy Grail." Langdon ~ "I was referring to the Bible." Faukman ~ "I knew that."

Wow, was this book ever more than I expected. ANGELS & DEMONS is incredibly detailed and thorough. It was a rollercoaster of suspense and action right to the end. The descriptions of the actions and places and landmarks were just wonderful, it couldn't have been written better in that sense. Definitely entertaining and incredibly interesting. I loved the characters, and the plot twists were awesome, the story kept my interest all the way. Just went I thought I had something figured out, something bigger would happen - it was perfect! Dan Brown has an amazing writing style that I completely enjoyed, and his attention to detail was great. I'm really looking forward to reading the other Robert Langdon books now! :) I highly recommend this book, it's a fantastic display of intricate storytelling. It's like you're right there, along for the ride with the characters. A must read!
One of my favorite quotes from ANGELS & DEMONS: Vittoria ~ "For your information, professor, my next experiment will make scientific history. I plan to prove neutrinos have mass." Langdon ~ "Neutrinos have mass? I didn't even know they were Catholic!" (Har-har!)

I came across Karin Slaughter by chance, I had never heard of her books before I grabbed one from the library. I had originally wanted to read FRACTURED, so when I noticed it was Book #2 in a series I sought out Book #1 to read first. Enter TRIPTYCH. I'm glad I didn't miss out because this book was awesome! This is exactly the kind of storyline I like, and I enjoyed everything about this book. The twists and turns, the past and present, the characters - all written to perfection. I loved how even when big secrets were revealed it still kept you on your toes waiting in suspense to see how the characters would uncover what you know. The plot just sucked me in like crazy, it moved at a perfect pace, going back and forth in time at the best moments to draw out the suspense. I really enjoyed learning a lot about the characters; Will Trent is a unique leading man, and I loved his character, it definitely kept my interest - not to mention I loved the little Chihuahua, it was an endearing touch...but anyone who has a Chihuahua, like myself, probably couldn't help but love it to pieces, too. :) I also liked in-depth look into the other characters as well, namely John, Angie, and Michael. There were all crafted together, detail after detail, wonderfully. All in all this book was great, an expertly written story of suspense, and a new favorite of mine, I highly recommend it

I walked into this book thinking, wrongly, that it was all horror. Maybe that made the stories a little less entertaining for me, I'm not sure. What I liked about DIFFERENT SEASONS were mainly the characters and the writing style. All the characters seemed to have a life of their own; they were written wonderfully. The attention to detail in each novella made the settings come alive and made it that much more easy for me to sink myself into them. I think I enjoyed how each was written more than what was being written, with the exception of my favorite one. I thought RITA HAYWORTH AND SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION was by far the best of the 4 novellas; the story, characters, and how it was all put together flowed perfectly one scene to the next. For the other novellas I felt myself wishing that things went slightly different, but they were still enjoyable, just not my favorites. These stories weren't quite like anything I usually read so I wasn't exactly bouncing off the walls in excitement, but for those who love that genre, I'm sure they'd be more appreciated. To me, DIFFERENT SEASONS was a new experience, and the novellas were certainly interesting and unique to read.
