I really enjoyed this book. The characters were all written wonderfully, and I was completely engrossed in both the suspense aspect of the novel as well as Daisy and Jack's relationship. There were awesome secondary characters, including some bad guys, and one super precious puppy who liked to steal the show. :) OPEN SEASON was easy to read and follow, and it kept me interested with the different angles of the story. It was thrilling, sexy, sweet, adorable, and funny. Like every other Linda Howard novel I've read, I recommend this one, I don't think anyone else mixes crime and romance as perfectly as she does. :)
Overall Opinion: A+

This was an awesome book! It did start out a tad slow, but it sure made up for it. I loved Jenner, she is strong and sassy, and doesn't take any crap from Cael, and Cael was strong, sexy, delicious perfection. What a man, sigh, lol. ;) I adored their back and forth banter and arguments, and the frustration they had towards each other. Wonderful secondary characters as well. Great story just like all Linda Howard novels I have read. There was only one thing I didn't care for, and that was the end. I felt the follow up (the last page and a half) could have included more about what happened later, but it was still decent. Maybe I just need a sequel, lol. :) BURN is an incredible mix of suspense and sexy romance, and I highly recommend it!

My Thoughts: This book was amazing! I have now read 2 books by Linda Howard and I can say for sure that I will be seeking out the others, I am a major fan of her novels already. DYING TO PLEASE (like ICE) matches suspense and fear with wonderful characters and hot romance in a perfect combo. In this book I loved Cahill, he was the perfect gruff and manly yet loving and sexy detective, and Sarah, falling for him fast and tipping her organized and routine world upside down, made a perfect match together. The writing style is easy to follow, the suspense keeps you on your toes, and the character interaction make you want more. I don't know what more you could want from a book like this. DYING TO PLEASE is a thrill ride; chilling, funny, sexy, and completely engrossing. I feel the same as I did with the first Linda Howard book I read, it is hands down very highly recommended.
Favorite Quotes: "She enjoyed the private thrill; it was like riding a roller coaster without having to leave the ground." (Page 20) Cahill ~ "Okay, you're right; she's so hot I could walk on three legs every time I see her." (Page 47) "He had looked so frail in death, as if his spirit had kept one from realizing how heavily time had laid its hand on him." (Page 79) Sarah ~ "You said you were hungry, but I thought you were talking normal, human hungry, not Koko the gorilla hungry." (Page 107) "Not that she had any way of judging, but if her feminine instincts had been cats, they'd all have been purring right now in response to the testosterone she could practically smell on him." (Page 109) Cahill ~ "I was afraid the idea of sleeping with me put you in a catatonic state." (Page 116) "It was on the tip of her tongue to ask what other enormous qualities he had, but she stopped herself in time." (Page 116) "The air was thick and heavy, as if a storm were building - not outside, but in here." (Page 162) Sarah ~ "Is this one of those heavy-breathing calls?" Cahill ~ "It could be." (Page 197) "If the man got any more unromantic, the people in charge of Valentine's Day would put a bounty on him." (Page 212) Cahill ~ "I bet I can think of more things to do with this chocolate syrup than you can." (Page 219)
My Thoughts: Wow. I couldn't even sleep before finishing this book, and it's 3 hours before my alarm clock is set to go off, haha. WICE by Linda Howard
My Thoughts: Wow. I couldn't even sleep before finishing this book, and it's 3 hours before my alarm clock is set to go off, haha. Well, I have a new favorite book! :) There is nothing I didn't like about this novel; a wonderful mix of thrilling suspense and survival with a touch of romance, perfect! The characters were amazing (not to mention I'd love to come across Gabriel McQueen in a dark alley, or anywhere for that matter, haha). They were all perfectly written, as was the entire story. With each new scene it got better and better. The writing style was wonderful, everything was detailed with perfection and I was never left thinking that the plot had taken a wrong turn. As a side note, I think this story would make an amazing movie, I know I'd sure love to see it. :) Now, I am not one to reread a book (I think why bother when I can pick up something new), but I will be picking this book up again, and it's safe to say it will be more than once. An incredible read in all aspects from beginning to end. My new favorite novel: ICE by Linda Howard.
Favorite Quotes: "She had grown up on this mountain, knew it like the back of her hand, most of the time, but the darkness, the cold, the unrelenting series of shocks, had all left her disoriented and she had no real idea where they were." (Page 76) "She fired again, her aim following the sound they made as they ran. This was like hunting, she thought in pleased excitement as she followed them into the woods." (Page 94) "Nothing mattered beyond this moment, beyond the sudden reckless fever that flared to life between them." (Page 141) "She could feel oblivion, welcome, certain." (Page 175) "If he hadn't been wearing his own heavy coat, she'd at least have been able to admire his personal scenery." (Page 180) "And Gabriel realized that at some point in the last twenty-four hours, his world had shifted." (Page 194)
Overall Opinion: A+ (If there's anything better than an A+, then consider that my overall opinion.)
