Home.Freaking.Run is one accurate way to describe this novel. This is the first thing I have read by this author and it was suggested, and loaned to me, by a friend who loves reading just as much as I do. This book quickly made it to the top of my favorites list and I am steadily working my way.. no no, devouring, each and every book she has written!
Reese is absolutely amazing. She has been through so much, yet she still works her butt off to come out on top. She knows what she wants - she knows what she deserves and she refuses to settle for less. She has a past that would make most of us run for the hills, yet she refuses to let that past define her. She learns, just as most of us do, that the heart wants what it wants and you have absolutely no control over it. She has the heart the size of Texas, the mouth and attitude to make us all proud and she is a fighter. If you don't fall in love with her, I would have to question your character.
Mason is your typical Alpha - with a past that is more public than most and a future he feels he doesn't deserve. He is loyal, lethal and devoted to a fault. His love for his family simply amazes me and I adore the fact that he would give his life to please his sister. He is both equal parts bad ass and soft, cuddly teddy bear. I honestly could not get enough of him!
The love and devotion from these two sent flames and sparks jumping from the pages. Linda Kage gave us hot, sexy, in your face chemistry and every second of it made me feel like I was WITH them, instead of just reading about them. She also has a knack for secondary characters. This book would be nothing with out Reese's cousin and some of the other men we are introduced to throughout the novel. I cannot wait to get my hands on each and every one of their stories.
I assure you that if you are a fan of romance, with a side of suspense as well as heavy chemistry and some steamy, drop your panties scenes - this book is completely for you! If you do decide to grab it - please come back and let me know what you thought!

It’s a novella, and though it is not a usual full length novel, I enjoyed it just the same. I will be honest, I am normally not one for novella’s because I feel like I am just not getting enough of the story and more times than not – they feel rushed to me. I am so glad that was not the case with The Reaper and the Cop. Mina Carter took something meant to be short and turned it into something just as fulfilling as a full length novel!
Laney is one bad-ass chick. Seriously it was a nice reprise from the heroines who need a guy to breathe and blah blah blah. She can hold her own and isn’t afraid to get down right nasty when needed! She shows over and over again just WHY she doesn’t needed a man to fight any of her battles for her.. She’s a Reaper – a collector of souls – and she’s very good at her job. After all, this is why she’s in Liberty in the first place.
Troy just wanted to escape. To find something to bring him back down from the mess he called a job in homicide. You can’t un-see the things he saw – so he picked a small town police force thinking he wouldn’t have to see a ton of action. Boy was he wrong. Laney is like nothing he has ever seen before. He knows about the paranormal surrounding this town & while he knows she is one of “them” he doesn’t know JUST what she is. Knight in Shinning Armor he is, when he rescues Laney from the thing she is fighting. Knowing deep down she didn’t need the help – the desire to be close to her told him he just didn’t care, that he was helping anyways.
For such a short story, this packed one hell of a punch. Action, romance, suspense, craziness, Reapers and other paranormal things! So much to enjoy! The characters were well written and I think the overall story flow was awesome. I didn’t feel like it skipped to get to the end and I did not feel rushed in any way. I think this book needs to be given a chance by everyone! (:...more
This is the second novel I have read by this author, the first being Best Served Cold. I wasn’t sure what to think of this one going into it because iThis is the second novel I have read by this author, the first being Best Served Cold. I wasn’t sure what to think of this one going into it because it was different from the previous work of hers that I had read. I went into it with an opened mind and it shocked the mess out of me. I can honestly say I didn’t know what I was expecting, but I was pleasantly blown away.
Rafe… oh Rafe… So heartfelt, broken, loyal and mind manipulating. He is such a touching soul – with such broken pieces inside of him. What does one do when he has a broken heart? Why, he goes on a drinking and sex binge, of course! Anything you can do to numb the pain actually. In the mist of his binge, he ends up in New Orleans & this is where he meets Jocelyn. She tracks him down to offer him a job – a job that would allow him to help people like him… People with special abilities.
Jocelyn is one headstrong woman. She knows what she wants and she goes straight after it. I loved her from the very beginning. She has an issue with being in control, but then again what woman doesn’t? Then again, she is also wise enough to realize when she needs to hand that control over to someone else. Upon recruiting Rafe, the two are sent on an undercover mission together.. One that turns dangerous and frankly, uneasy.
This story hooked me from the very beginning. I don’t know if it’s because he has such an attractive name like Rafe, but it grabbed my attention and I read it in on sitting. The story flowed so effortlessly that I hung onto every single word. I LOVE suspense in my books and Tawdra Kandle filled Undeniable with romance, passion, suspense, paranormal and so many other things that I loved. I cannot honestly sit here and tell you one thing I didn’t like about this book, other than I wish it were longer! OH! & cliffhangers KILL me – but sometimes, they are so worth it! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!...more

Why, you ask? Well, because when I was offered the chance to read this one, I hadn’t read Thursday Nights yet. I went back and read that, to go back and re-read Storm Front. I must say, I got a much better understanding of it after reading book #1! To be completely honest, I have been in such a book depression lately (hence the lack of review post) & this book got me out of it!
Ashley & Ryan were childhood friends (LOVE these stories!). Just when they decided to test the waters and decide to see exactly what was between them, tragedy happens.. & we all know much too well how tragedy can tear two people apart. I completely LOVE how this is written in two different tenses. I love books that give us all the insight of the future, as well as a look into the past also. It literally drew me in and kept me captive from beginning to end!
Ashley, like most of us, has a troubled past. I love that she grew into her own and is a woman who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. She has such a fire about her that I was instantly drawn to her character and actually related to her more than I thought I would. She had such emotion. Not just randomly here and there, but she OWNED her emotions. Every single one of them – from anger to passion to outright brutal honesty. She’s trying her hardest to overcome her past and face her future head-on – all while still finding herself and adapting.
Ryan.. Sweet baby Jesus Ryan. Lisa N. Paul wrote one amazing character when she wrote Ryan. Sex appeal out the yang just added to my attraction to him. I love how driven he is, that his determination is the main driving force of who he is as a man. Having faced his past and let go of all demons he held on to – he has turned into one amazing person. I think it’s such an act of fate that the two of them were thrown together once again. I don’t think she noticed it at first, or at all, but she needed him more than she ever though she would.
This was such a compelling story. The story line was flawless and flowed with what seemed like no effort at all. Storm Front is a romantic, firey, grab your heartstrings and take you for a ride kind of read. It was written with such detailed conviction that you couldn’t help but open your mind and let the characters run free. It was so vivid in my mind, just from reading the words, that I felt like there was a miniature movie playing in my head. Those are my favorite kind of books to read. You know, the ones where you can picture everything so clearly!
I would recommend this book to anyone who takes a chance on romances. It’s such a beautiful story that I think it should be given a chance by everyone....more

To say that I completely adored this book would not be doing it enough justice. Being the wife of a Soldier of my own, I think I signed up for this event strictly on principal. I am extremely glad I did because I got to enjoy one amazing story. A story that after reading, I went back and read the first two novels as well! If you’re planning to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine soon, this is the perfect book to add to that mix!
Ellie is someone I connected with instantly! While I don’t teach dance, I am the sister of a soldier lol. Most of the things she felt and thought in the book, even when it came to her pen pal, I knew from first hand experience. After falling for the wrong guys over and over again, she decides no guys for a year.. Good thing too, because the one person that she actually CAN see herself with, is on the other side of the letters she has looked forward to reading. Hoping to connect with him on another level when he returns, she’s kind of shocked whens he loses all contact with him for months. Then she meets “Hunter” and things just… well they just get interesting.
I 100% LOVED Charlie. He reminds me so much of so many of the soldiers I have come to know and love! Seeing what they see over there and doing what they do — most of them choose to go the non commitment route, since they are gone so much, it seems to be easier for them. After he survived the attack that injured his best friend, Charlie decided that he needs to make some changes in his life. Imagine his surprise when Sam introduces him to Ellie has Hunter.. Like I said before.. things get interesting.
I love Sam as the older brother type. Although he and Hunter are close, is in no shape, way or form happy about him starting a relationship with Ellie. One of Charlie’s biggest struggles is bouncing back and forth between the loyalty he has for Sam and the feelings he has for Ellie. Waiting on the biggest turn of events to smack everyone in the face was nail-biting! I loved every single second of it though!
This was such a beautifully written story! I loved the emotions portrayed from the characters. I felt each and every single one of them, having lived some of them before. I think the way the events played out went perfectly! The flow of the story seemed effortless and I read the entire book in one sitting! I honestly could not get enough! Falling for Her Soldier by Ophelia London rocked my life & I plan to read any book written by her from this point on!...more

This is a short read, but it is one giant heap of holy crap moments! I have read books that shocked me and took my by surprise, but K.T. Fisher managed to get some over on me with Heat! Fisher warns readers that the book is 18+ with sex scenes M/F/M AND F/F. While I know that is not everyone’s cup of tea, I must say she wrote it amazingly! Sensual, romantic, erotic and lovely come to mind when describing the overall takeaway from this novel. For the record – this book is VERY WELL NAMED – so prepare yourself! (:
Lacey & Roxie – best friends through it all. The girls are closer than most people are to their spouses lol. Of the two girls, I would say that I liked Lacey the most. While she acts all cool, calm and collected – on the inside I think she is a completely different story. Don’t get me wrong, the girl has a wild side that would make most people blush, but even the wildest people can have the softest hearts.
Cole is tired of the same old crap day after day. Hello Rock Star Life. Add in a brother in this same band and I am sure you can count the ways these two get into mischief! Mason happens to not care for the whole after party life – so Cole decides to take him out for a night on the town – and this is how the come across Lacey and Roxie.. Despite having just met her, Cole has a striking attraction to Lacey. Throw in Mason and Roxy and you have some serious chemistry going on!
Despite what is probably going through your head right now, after the initial meet – the book morphs into more of a romance with some crazy hot scenes thrown in! I loved the story that K.T. Fisher delivers and I will be reading more of her novels as she releases them! I have a think for RockStar romances and I think she did an amazing job with Head. I read this in one sitting and I couldn’t get enough of it!...more

I am in no way sadWell, seeing as to how I am totally in love with everything Sawyer Bennett writes – I jumped at the chance to review this for her! I am in no way sad that I did either! This book rocked my life. MY LIFE. Yea; it was that awesome. I know what you’re thinking, “it can’t be THAT amazing..” – Clearly; you need to read this book for yourself!
I love McKayla. Sure, she’s not your average heroine that you read about in novels nowadays, but that is the main reason that I like her. She throws caution to the wind, takes chances and has an amazing sense of humor! I love that the story is written in her POV, because I get all the insight that goes on in that head of hers. After agreeing to join this sex club, McKayla meets lucky number 134, or Mike as he comes to be known & proceeds to have her night of no strings attached awesomeness. Yea; it rocked her life.
Mike.. oh buddy. Imagine his shock when he sees MaKayla walk into the meeting room he is currently occupying. Never did he expect he would see her again, let alone be her BOSS. I’m not sure who was more shocked, Mike when he saw her or McKayla when she found out his name was Matt and not Mike. Talk about tension in the air! Matt has his own setbacks – one of which being he wants nothing to do with legit relationships. So imagine his shock when even after that one night of amazing-ness, he can’t get McKayla out of his system.
I loved watching the story unfold between the two of them! Talk about some interesting dialogue! Never a dull moment I tell you. I know the synopsis makes it sound like this is a wam/bam/thank you ma’am kind of thing, but I urge you to go into this with an open mind! I cannot wait to see what unfolds between the two of them! The story flowed so effortlessly that I was shocked when I got to the end of the book and then mad because it was over! It’s not often that an author leaves me wanting a book not to end, but Sawyer Bennett accomplished that with Objection!...more

Not to mention the cover is def an eye catcher! This isn’t the first novel I have read by Jennifer James and I must say she has not failed me! Jennifer’s books captivate you from beginning to end, and if you are like me, you devour them in one sitting! Peyton’s Ride is no exception!
Peyton wants to get away. From EVERYTHING. The town, the gossip, the people and the memory of failure that just won’t seem to leave her alone. She’s decided that a month long journey on her motorcycle is just the thing she needs. Who wouldn’t love that?! The wind in your hair, nothing but the open road in front of you – Sign Me Up! Yet, she can’t leave until she gets her biked looked at & in order to do that, she has to take it to non other than Ian – the hot, sexy mechanic in town.
Ian is something much deeper than what you see on the outside. He’s a Fae – who wants nothing more than to meet his mate. He’s been harboring this attraction to Peyton for 5 years.. FIVE FREAKING YEARS! It seems like everything goes wrong at the same time with him! Right there – grinning like a fool at Peyton – his biker gang The Wild Hunt arrives.. and wouldn’t you know it – the pixies choose right then to make a fool of Peyton. The chances of him acting on his attraction and making Peyton part of his world are looking more slim by the second.
I haven’t read too many Fae books, but from what I have, this was an excellent rendition of one. Nothing like I have read before and we all know how I love my unique books! Peyton and Ian’s story is one that should be read and shared by anyone who loves Romance with a little Fae and Pixie on the side!...more

I am very selective about my zombie books, so I was a little iffy going into this one. I just KNEW it was going to rock, because it’s written by D.T. Dyllin – but I was surprised at just how much I loved the story. In case you didn’t get the feel of it – this is a novel of the erotic sort. Which just adds a whole new level of “well then” to the zombie theme lol.
Maxine and her friends have gotten so lucky by dodging all trouble during this insane mess. Let’s also remember that she’s on the run from her infected husband. Their luck runs out when they have to trust a group of military men they come across when their mission of gathering supplies goes very wrong. As if she doesn’t have enough to worry about, like staying alive and far, far away from her husband — she has to manage these feelings she keeps having for one of these men. She also wants to know just why this virus only affects men. She has such a biting attitude and I love it!
Zee.. that’s what they call him. He basically appoints himself Max’s protector. He refuses to her ex “take back what is his.” This turns into one big game of a cross between hide-n-seek & cat-n-mouse. D. T. Dyllin wrote a novel that is full of suspense, alpha male-ness, strange happenings and a gripping story line. M-Day sucked me in from the very beginning and I cannot wait to see what happens next!...more

Marquita Valentine has quickly become one of my favorite authors! & Holland Springs one of my favorite series! When Marquita wrote Not Over You, she wrote a heart wrenching, romantic, attention grabbing story that tugs at every heart string you have and takes you for an amazing ride.
Summer lives in a town where her name is something of a curse. People will think what they think and do what they do. No-one knows the real story of why she gave her daughter up, but no one cares enough to try and find out either. She has one person she knows she can always trust to help her whenever she needs it and that one person happens to be the man she wants to call her own. Only problem is – he’s taken. For everything that she has been through and is still going through – she really comes into her own and I admire her in every possible way.
Gabriel.. oh sheesh. It’s not often you read books where the male lead character is a virgin. I KNOW RIGHT! It seriously made him even more swoon-worthy in this book! Gabriel has pretty much made it a second job to rescue Summer when she gets herself into things. Just when he has finally gotten his life in a direction he wants it and finds a woman to settle down with – Summer pops right back into his life.
I loved watching this train-wreck happen. You never get in the way of a woman on a mission! I hate that it sometimes take men a little longer to figure out the important things, but it makes the read all the more worth it. Valentine took a broken woman and turned her into something great. I LOVE the fact that this book was a redemption book. Those are my favorite to read! I love the Holland Springs Series and if you haven’t given it a chance yet, you should!...more

For those of you that visit me often, you know my husband is Military, so I am open to reading any books of that sort! I am so glad I gave this book a chance! It hooked me from the very beginning and I could not put it down! I found myself laughing throughout the entire book! It flowed so effortlessly and held you completely captive!
Chloe cracks me up! She’s literally hilarious. A spitfire in so many ways! After watching her parents end in divorce due to her dad being in the Military, Chloe vowed she would never marry a military man. Despite every single fear she has, she has a serious yearning to be loved. Lets not forget to mention that she also just wants to have some crazy, insane, mind blowing sex.. You know, because it has been FOREVER. Is that so much to ask?! During one of her moments of weakness – while trying to get her some crazy, mind blowing sex – she gets stuck. Literally. & with nothing to do but scream until someone hears and comes to help her – she has no idea her fate is up to the amazingly handsome Alpha Male in her apartment complex.
Michael.. Oh dear Jesus.. Talking about your Alpha Male. He is so set in his ways that I didn’t think she would ever get anything across to mister Plays by the Books. He just wants his back fixed. Well that and to get his stamp of approval to return back to work. In order to get that stamp, he has to get a massage to help fix his back issues.. Imagine his surprise when the very person performing that massage turns out to be the very same woman he saw naked not even 24 hours ago.. Imagine BOTH of their surprises when a moment of weakness leads to naked people, someone losing a job and someone trying to save another one. Yea — it happened.
Chloe’s amazing sense of humor and sharp tongue was a complete contrast to Michael. Don’t get me wrong, while he could hold his own – Chloe was no stranger to dishing it out. The chemistry between the two of them was smoking and the scenes of hotness just about burned the pages! This was such a passionately written book that I thought I was living it as I read every single word. The flow of this story was effortless and the characters were expertly written. I will be backtracking and reading every book that has the name Samanthe Beck on it. I would highly suggest that you do the same!...more

Then I know you see the uniform on Mr. Mans arm. Putting that out there; we all just KNOW I had to read this book. Being an Army wife – I feel that I MUST give all books a chance if they feature a military man (: I am a huge romance junkie. Some romance books are for the birds, some are just mehh and then you find the ones that are so.. amazing. Jennifer Lane sent me something that was just that.. amazing.
Sophie is a diamond in the rough. She’s the kind of person you do not come across very often. The completely loyal kind. She’s loving, loyal, and as beautiful as she is smart. Even with all her smartness, she still ends up falling for one the biggest idiots on the planet. That idiot also happened to be part of the Mafia. Yeah; talk about lapse in judgement. Due to this complete lack of common sense misstep, she ends up doing some time in jail.
Grant is one sexy naval officer! Dear Gosh — a man in a uniform. His family is full of criminals. Seriously; mafia connected criminals. Every last person – from his cousins, to his brothers and even his father. One of his uncles, Joe, raised him AWAY from the idiocy of his other family members – which is why he came out the way he did. Sadly, when his family sets their sights on something, they get it – no questions asked. Their sights are currently set on him. To save the life of someone he loves, he throws away his navy career and his freedom – landing himself in jail.
It’s outside of their parole officers office that they meet. Their story is one of simple beauty. With a pact of not to talk about what landed them both in prison, Grant has no way of knowing that Sophie knows his brother Logan and Sophie doesn’t know that Grant is a member of the Barberi family. The insanity that follows makes for some terribly interesting reading! I could not put my book down! Lane writes a story filled with humor, love, romance, insanity, suspense and a need to make you keep turning the pages until you get to the very end!
This book would be nothing without the side characters that were written. I am in love with half of them and want to kick the other half! The flow of the novel was effortless and I found myself ANGRY that I had to set this book down in the middle of reading it! That does not happen very often with me, but something about this story made me not want to stop until it was finished! The emotional roller-coaster this novel took me on was amazing. I cannot wait to see what comes next!...more
