Having stumbled upon this book when I signed up for a blog tour, I couldn't have been more thrilled after reading it! I have, for some reason, moved away from "contemporary romance" and started venturing into other genres, but this was an amazing book to help me get my foot back into contemporary! Being a hockey fan myself, (GO PREDS!), I instantly fell in love with this series and all that these books stand for. Let me just share with you why that is.
This book takes place in Nashville, TN - 30 minutes from Clarksville, TN, where I spent 15 years of my life. Reading this book was epic for me because I could literally picture everything. The shops, the parks, the interstate Ellie travels often, even the freaking hockey arena! Being able to picture all this AS IT IS and not just picturing what I think it looks like, made this book come alive even more for me.
Shea Adler. Mother.Freaking.Swoon. - There is literally no other way to tell you about him. Here is a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to fight for it. I mean, dude is a hockey player for crying out loud! Not to mention, he likes his girls with a little meat on their bones. Points for Mr. Adler. I want to know, right now, where I can get me one of him... Seriously.
Ellie - I instantly connected with her in every imaginable way. She goes through so much in this book and having been exactly where she is medical wise and in some other ways, I felt every single emotion like it was my own. She may lack a little where self esteem is concerned, but she more than makes up for it in determination, attitude, loyalty and in how strong she is.
The trials and tribulations these two go through are so real. It's stuff that happens to people all over the world on a daily basis. Reading this book literally filled me with so much passion that I never wanted it to end. If you have ever, in your life, been a fan of romance at all - then I highly urge you to check this book out!(less)

I took several different things away from this book. The main one being a better understanding of a sport that I love to watch. :) I also took away a story that leaves you rooting for someone even when you don't realize that you are!
At just 18 years old, Emily is quickly becoming part of something huge. She is half of a world figure skating team, that if all goes right, is headed straight for the Olympics. Every girls dream right!?
Can we say perfectness?!
Insert the left field feelings that Emily suddenly finds herself feeling for her coach, Sergei. Her coach, of all people, and she is falling for him. One would think this is awesome because they get to spend all that time together. Tell that to the partner, Chris, who just happens to have his own feelings for Emily. Insert insane complications here.
As you turn the pages, you watch as Emily and Sergei battle through all the emotions that come with their situation. Do we hide the feelings. No, we act one them. No, we hide them. Is this right? Can we do this? Should we do this? Am I willing to give up my dream? Is this worth it? While working through all of these things, they suddenly find themselves at an impasse, and everything is suddenly on that line they were trying to hard to avoid. Can they save it?
One thing I would have liked to see more of in this book is the drama concerning Chris. I realize he is the partner and that would have been an "obvious" move, but I felt there could have been more conflict about this where he was concerned. Aside from this small thing, I freaking loved this book.
Jennifer brings you a truly heartfelt story that you cannot help but get into. You could tell from the first couple of chapters that this one was very researched book, which made everything more enjoyable for me as a reader. You get everything in this book. Struggle, emotions, heartbreak, romance, real life problems, and watching some achieve their goal come hell or high water. Not to mention that the characters internal monologues were amazing and gave me so much more insight to their character. I can't wait for the second book to read more about these two!(less)

Lucas and Fallon. Fallon and Lucas. No matter how you say the two names, one thing remains the same - they were meant to be said together.
How do you fix the biggest mistake you ever made? That is exactly what Lucas Brooks is trying to figure out. Despite the plan he has in his head of how he wants to go about doing this, nothing is turning out quite the way he wants it to. Who knew that getting and staying sober along with living your dream as a hockey player could leave you so.. angry. What I loved the most about Lucas is that he was a troubled soul and no matter the reasons of why he did the things that he did, you just couldn't help but what him to succeed in the end. For being a "badass" he has to have one of the biggest hearts ever.
Then you have Fallon. Who has made it her life mission to forget about the past, complete college and start her goal of one day owning her own Wine Cellar. The issue in her carefully laid plan? She finds out Lucas Brooks has just been traded to the Nashville Assassins, the very team her wine company is partnered with. Though she may hide if very well, Fallon is still very much in love with Lucas, despite the face that he broke her heart so many years ago. The only thing with having Lucas so close to her again, besides risking her hear - is the fact that she knows she won't be able to hide the biggest secret she has from him for long. Things could get just a bit tricky.
The tension between the two, along with the back and forth they do had me laughing until I cried. I loved it. Not only did this story line flow, but like the first book, Toni wrote this is such a way that each emotion portrayed by the characters just jumped out and pulled at your heart strings. Get out your pom poms and get ready, because I have a feeling you will be rooting for the two of them like there is no tomorrow!(less)

While I love me some romance, I also like the naughty side of it too. Yeah, yea, I am that person :) – Third being it was suggested to me by a friend. We all know me and taking people up on their suggestions!
Jody is a divorced mom. Seriously; I’ve really gotten into books lately about women rebuilding their lives after a divorce. I guess because, sadly, it’s so common lately, that it makes the book more easy to believe. Getting back on track here lol — she, like most of us, has a clumsy moments and ends up eye to eye with a good hunk of many candy. Chemistry BEYOND chemistry is oozing from the two of them from just a small amount of contact. Drawn to him in ways she cannot explain, Jody pretty much determines that a trip is going to turn into something she never could have planned.
Taggart has some issues of his own. Issues he would rather not get into with anyone.. ever. Being an erotic romance, you can imagine the scenes that jumped off the pages at us! Very well written and not much was left to the imagination. The characters of this novel were so well likable that it made the read much more enjoyable. I even kind of liked her ex-husband! (and we all know that never happens!) The chemistry between Jody and Taggart was also well written!
As far as the plot, I felt that at times it was a bit all over the place. Not too much to where it threw the story off, but enough to make me want to shake the book one or two times. With that, came the fact that I could predict what happened. This is in NO WAY the authors fault! I think it is because I am use to all the Romantic Suspense and Thrillers and stuff that I read, that I am not used to being able to determine things that are going to happen before they actually do!

T...moreI fell head over heels, completely in love with Jack and Hadley. Audrey Bell has a way of drawing you in and holding you captive until the very end. This story struck so many cords within me that I cannot tell you the emotions that went on with me in this book. It’s not often that you come across a story so wonderfully portrayed. Bell did an amazing job with every aspect of this book.
Hadley is one driven woman. She knows what she wants, how shes going to get it and she’s not going to settle for anything less. & she has an insane fascination with her cappuccino machine that gave me an insane amount of respect for her. The girl has an addiction and faces it head on! – She’s got parent issues out the yang, and I do mean I.S.S.U.E.S! The front she puts on is amazing, because if I had to deal with half of what she did on a daily basis, I would have shanked someone! Dared by her roommate to kiss someone in the rain, she got more than she expected when that person turned out to be Jake.
Jake is an amazing soul. Literally. He’s so much more than what you see on the surface. Not knowing what he wants to make of himself, he faces life one day at a time. He, like everyone else nowadays, has secrets and pains from his past that shape his future, even if he doesn’t want him to. Then he meets Hadley. She’s unlike anything he’s ever come across, and try as he might, he will make her his.
The connection the two share is so mesmerizing that you cannot help but root for the two of them. Adversity, life and self-conflict threaten them at just about every turn. There were many points in this book where I didn’t think the two of them would make it. Their struggles, their passions and their addiction to each other was simply amazing. Audrey Bell wrote an amazing NA novel in a way that not many others have. It completely captured my heart and took me on an amazing journey that I hope each and every one of you decide to go on too!(less)
This time, I decided to try something out of my comfort zone. We all know I normally go for the romantic suspense - hot men on the book cover - make you sweat type of books. I will say, I am glad that I decided to stray. This books was well worth the read! I couldn't be more happier with it.
Here you have Chloe, who is facing something we have all gone through at some point in our lives. She is dealing with a family that is trying to make it through some hard times - her best friends have abandoned her all because of a misunderstanding - and due to her JISP project she needs to accomplish so she doesn't get an F - she's now in the fight to save the school radio show!
Enter Duncan stage left! Here you have a boy who is all alone dealing with a mother that has a Meth addiction and disappears for days at a time, comes back - says she is going to get clean - then starts the process all over again. He is working 2 jobs trying to make it and his only "family" at this point, are the other kids working the radio show.
When you throw two struggling people together, things are bound to get interesting! Chole, bless her heart, is trying to make a comeback after one of her ex best friends totally smears her reputation. Her only allies? The radio broadcasting crew.
What do they do? - They start 2 live talk shows. Both Featuring Chloe. - When one ends in a disaster & someone decides to burn down the broadcasting room - can the crew pull together and be there for one another? More importantly, can Chloe and Duncan be there for one another?
Watching Chloe fight her feelings for Duncan, tell him about them - then try and figure out exactly how Duncan - the biggest non emotion shower ever - really feels was so heart wrenching! This story was so well written and everything played out so well! I was shocked at times, depressed at times, but in the end - the story was, without a doubt amazing.
It's one of those "defeat the times" stories. How one, or in this case two, people can battle all odds, go against everything thrown and them, and still come out on top!(less)

Webster’s first novel and I must say she hit this one out of the park. This book had me going from beginning to end. The characters touch you in a way that you are seriously distraught when the story ends because you don’t want to give them up! It has the ups, the downs, the gut-wrenching moments, the happy, the distraught and everything in between. LOVE!
Andi is living most peoples worst nightmare whens he catches her fiance cheating. So, like any woman – she decides to guard her heart.. Except she goes about it in a way that most of us would not. Instead of constituting sex as an intimate thing between two people – it becomes more of a leverage for her.. She is careful to make sure she is always in control and her “flings” never last more than 3 days at the most. Then she meets Jackson. She swears she went into this telling her heart this was strictly physical and nothing else. Sometimes, she wishes her heart would listen to her head.
Oh Jackson. Jaw dropping, Alpha Male, Let Me Pick My Panties Up Off the Floor Jackson! Having his own past demons to deal with, Jackson jumps at the chance to take a beautiful girl up on her offer of a no strings attached roll in the bed. What he wasn’t expecting was to be thrown in to a situation and right back in front of Andi once their little get together was over!
I loved the flashbacks in this book! I loved that it gave us a look of both past and present. It showed us every single angle of the characters.. The good, the bad and the ugly. It helped me see that the characters were more than just one dimensional, which makes them much more easier to connect to. I loved their journey. The struggles, the heartbreaks and the triumphs. It was such a well written story with an amazing flow that I fell completely into it from the beginning and couldn’t get enough! Watching Andi and Jackson try and find their happiness was amazing! I hope everyone gives this book a chance!(less)
That is exactly what I thought about 5 pages into this book. I don't know what it is that pulls me to her books... wait, yes I do. Her writing style is exceptional, her plot lines know how to keep you hooked and you can't help but connecting emotionally with the book.
I bet you've never had to ask yourself, "how do I get a girl someone else claims they are going to marry one day?" That is exactly what Marcus Hardy found himself. Marcus has found himself back in his hometown to handle some family issues that are going on. While here, he gets an apartment with a friend of his, Cage. During this stay, he encounters Willow, or as we all know her - Low. Not only is she Cage's best friend, but she also happens to be the girl Cage tells everyone he is going to Marry one day. How does one have any kind of chance against that?
Willow. Here she is battling some issues of her own. Here she is struggling with school, work, anxiety, watching her niece and worrying about where she is going to stay every time her sister decides to kick her out. Cage to the rescue! Anytime she needs him, he is there. Again, how do you compete with something like that? - Enter Marcus stage left (: From the moment he opened the door and saw Low standing there, he was hooked. Before he knew it, every thought he had was about her.
But as usual, not everything can last forever. While Marcus is busy holding his family together, due to his dad leaving his mother for a much younger woman, Low is attempting to hold her own life together with the added fear that Cage no longer wanted to be there for her. Insert tons of emotional drama here. - Seriously, this book had me in tears around this part. How do you overcome everything blowing up in your face and the one person you thought you were going to spend forever with is suddenly the one person you don't want to see anymore?
This is the problem Low found herself dealing with. How do you explain to the love of you life that you had no idea it was your sister that stole your dad from your mom AND had a baby with him? Before she could get the chance to, Marcus walked in on her confronting her sister and his father and thought that she knew the entire time, informing her he wanted nothing to do with her again. Enter Cage stage right! Where do you go from here? How do you pick up the pieces of two broken hearts? As everyone always says, the heart needs time to heal.
The way this book was written simply amazed me. Not only did it end with the two of them getting back together, it showed the struggles and steps they took to get to that point. To me, this was one emotional book and I loved every single moment of it. I can honestly say not one part of this book turned me off. As we all know, I love me a good underdog story!(less)

I have to admit, I am intrigued and I plan to go back and read book 1 & 2 also! I HATE coming in during the middle of a series, but I am glad this one was offered to me! It takes a lot to please me when it comes to books about Cowboys.. some are just not written as they should be and make us from the South look horrible. This was not the case with Texas Fandango. I loved it!
KC did what most girls do at such a young age. She fell in love with an older boy and has harbored the love every since then. So imagine her surprise and complete joy when she has a chance to go away – just the two of them – for two weeks. HELL YES she is taking that chance! Using this chance to “console” her friend – she turns it into something that will be mutually beneficial for the both of them.. That is, until they return to Texas.
Despite what she might think, Drake has noticed KC for awhile now. Like most guys, he has an issue seeing what is right in front of him and just kept passing her by. Now, newly dumped and about to head on a getaway meant for two – he decides to make the both of them happy and accept KC’s offer. Boy did he NOT know exactly what he was getting into. After all, she said No Strings, No Commitment, Just fun. Funny how things never turn out the way you plan for them to.
Watching things unfold between the two of them was a pleasure. Their two weeks was def one to remember. Returning to reality is never simple – especially when you think you can just shove all feelings deep down inside and expect them to stay there. It was a joy to watch how things played out. I wanted to reach through the pages and smack them a couple of times, but in the end they both seemed to come to their senses. This was such a well written, constant flowing story with excellent delivery. I enjoyed every single minute of it!(less)

Then I know you see the uniform on Mr. Mans arm. Putting that out there; we all just KNOW I had to read this book. Being an Army wife – I feel that I MUST give all books a chance if they feature a military man (: I am a huge romance junkie. Some romance books are for the birds, some are just mehh and then you find the ones that are so.. amazing. Jennifer Lane sent me something that was just that.. amazing.
Sophie is a diamond in the rough. She’s the kind of person you do not come across very often. The completely loyal kind. She’s loving, loyal, and as beautiful as she is smart. Even with all her smartness, she still ends up falling for one the biggest idiots on the planet. That idiot also happened to be part of the Mafia. Yeah; talk about lapse in judgement. Due to this complete lack of common sense misstep, she ends up doing some time in jail.
Grant is one sexy naval officer! Dear Gosh — a man in a uniform. His family is full of criminals. Seriously; mafia connected criminals. Every last person – from his cousins, to his brothers and even his father. One of his uncles, Joe, raised him AWAY from the idiocy of his other family members – which is why he came out the way he did. Sadly, when his family sets their sights on something, they get it – no questions asked. Their sights are currently set on him. To save the life of someone he loves, he throws away his navy career and his freedom – landing himself in jail.
It’s outside of their parole officers office that they meet. Their story is one of simple beauty. With a pact of not to talk about what landed them both in prison, Grant has no way of knowing that Sophie knows his brother Logan and Sophie doesn’t know that Grant is a member of the Barberi family. The insanity that follows makes for some terribly interesting reading! I could not put my book down! Lane writes a story filled with humor, love, romance, insanity, suspense and a need to make you keep turning the pages until you get to the very end!
This book would be nothing without the side characters that were written. I am in love with half of them and want to kick the other half! The flow of the novel was effortless and I found myself ANGRY that I had to set this book down in the middle of reading it! That does not happen very often with me, but something about this story made me not want to stop until it was finished! The emotional roller-coaster this novel took me on was amazing. I cannot wait to see what comes next!(less)

I 100% think that she has mastered her craft with this book. I am in no way saying that Taking Shots & Trying to Score sucked; because they did NOT - I am just simply saying that this book rocked my freaking face off. I have never been more into the characters of a book until I read Empty Net. Toni has created such a realistic world; that involves famous people who have real life problems - which to me; makes them even more relateable . You can't help but fall in love with them and their stories.
I fell in love with Audrey when I met her in Trying to Score. Being the youngest of 3, I can understand and relate to what she feels when it comes to her sister, Fallon. I simply love the relationship between the sisters. It's refreshing to read such love between family members. I also love Audrey for her struggles and her survival of them. Having been through the exact thing she goes through in this book; I felt for her in a way I haven't felt for a heroine in a long time. I felt every tear, laugh, success, failure and triumph that she went through. It was... amazing.
Then you have Tate Odder. So beautifully written and so perfectly swoon worthy. Toni hit this one spot on. I don't think a better person could have been written in his place. Tate is everything you would want in a male lead. Sweet, strong, compassionate, sexy, a freaking hockey player, genuine and committed. Having been dealt a not so good hand in some aspects of his life - he finds a home with the Nashville Assassins. His character is very profound and sometimes complex - but I think that makes him all the more appealing. A perfect match for Audrey if you ask me. I think he is exactly what she needs at this point in her life.
As always, Toni's side characters have just as much impact on her stories as the main characters. I simply love the fact that previous characters have a place in Empty Net. I don't think it would have been the same without them. These characters and this series have become so special to me, that I am so very IMPATIENTLY waiting for Blue Lines to come out. Its like a part of me is on hold - kind of stuck wondering where this story and these characters are going to go. STOP THE SUSPENSE MAN!
Sports fan or no sports fan - I think this book no; this series should be read by anyone who is a down right TRUE romantic (: You will not be disappointed. (less)
Well, lets just be honest for a minute. We all can see exactly WHAT drew my attention to this book in the first placed. Well played with the cover Sabrina.. Well played.. Then I read the synopsis & that didn’t disappoint either! Then you get to the actual story & I was rather intrigued! For an “erotica romance,” this had some fairly sweet moments that, in no way, could you NOT feel your heart melt just a little bit while reading it. I think it was just the perfect mix of sugar and spice in this one!
I LOVE a good Friends to Lovers story. In fact, they happen to be one of my favorites to read. Why? Because you get to follow along from the very beginning. You get to see the feelings develop, sometimes they might not be returned, sometimes they might not be noticed & sometimes they might be put on the back burner for the interest of one of the people involved. Either way, you get to watch this relationship grow from scratch. I’m one of those people who wants to know every single detail on how and why things happened! The stories in this book are awesome! Add in the friends that Cam & Kristi have surrounded themselves with and I can only imagine the stories that went untold!
Kristi has wanted Cam forever. Seriously FOR-EV-ER! (Did you picture the dude from The Sandlot saying that?! Because I totally did as I typed it! lol) In true woman fashion, she sees the other women he dates & decides to hide her feelings for fear that she isn’t his “type.” On the other hand, Cam has a thing for Kristi – unknown to her – but since fate seems to be against them, he hides his feelings also. Imagine each of their surprises when the day they have both been wanting FOR-EV-ER finally arrives!
While this book was a shorter story, it still totally rocked my face off :) Rebound had some serious SIZZLE to it. I LOVED it! It hit just about every romantic cord in my body. I hope that the shortness doesn’t throw some of you off & you really give this one an honest shot! It’s totally worth the read! :)(less)

Lori Foster has done it again! Of course, it IS Lori we are talking about, so what did you expect? After all, this review is kind of being written by me - in which I admit - I am a HUGE Lori Foster Fan! After my review of Trace of Fever, I was asked my Lori's pub to be a part of this tour. Like I would turn THAT down! Run the Risk is the first book in her new series entitled, Love Undercover. Now, let me tell you all about this FAB-U-LOUS piece of work!
Logan captured my heart from the very beginning. Here you have your Alpha Male - in every single sense of the word. What I loved most about him was that beneath all the alpha-ness, he isn't afraid to share his feelings & lay everything on the line. He is a strong believer (due in most part, to his job as a detective) in justice & upholding the law. Having been working his current case for 2 years, he is now closer than ever to solving it... yet some things just aren't adding up.
***He hated it, the way she made him feel so fu*king...lost. He was a man who liked to act, not wallow in indecision and confusion. He knew right from wrong, and he enforced it. He went after what he wanted, whether it was a woman or a criminal, physical or emotional. With Pepper, he didn't have a clue what to do.***
Insert Pepper Yates here. Pepper is for all intents and purposes undercover as well, only she isn't a cop. She is actually hiding from some pretty horrid people who would stop at nothing to silence her - or better yet, eraser her very existence. The one thing Pepper doesn't realize is that she has the one thing Logan needs to solve this case - her brother, Rowdy.. Another obstacle standing in their way. Logan, posing as her neighbor - isn't exactly who Pepper thinks he is. (Obviously!) The Chemistry between Logan & Pepper is.. for lack of a better word - sizzling. Even while she is dressed in old lady clothes to try and disguise herself, Logan seems to still be attracted to her.. & let me tell you - their interactions are freaking scorching!
***“Last night, Pepper proved she's not exactly a delicate flower.” She'd proved.. something. Logan didn't know what. “Stow it.” “In fact, Dash was afraid you’d knock a hole in the wall, the way you two were rocking that bed.” His temples pounded. ”Shut up.”***
Even though Logan is Hot.Sex.Waling - the other men in this book played it up as well. Rowdy was def one to hold his own && lets not downplay Dash & Reese either! Dash being Logan's Brother & Reese being another detective working with Logan. While running from the law && trying to keep him & his sister out of harms way; Rowdy never loses his sense of humor or ability to pick up woman. Dude is a PRO.
***"Make up your mind and fast Detective. Shit's about to get ugly. Whose side are you on here?" - Rowdy***
The plot of this book. was well written. It may have had a slow moment or two in the beginning, but once it picked up, it really picked up! It was page after page of epic & I didn't want to put it down! Every plot twist, every cliff hanger & every curse I uttered was well worth it when the end of the book came. Captivating is one very good way to describe Run the Risk. While I can't WAIT to read about Reese & Rowdy's stories - I am DYING to read about Dash. -Sigh- He just does it for me man. (less)
Sweet Baby Jesus. I didn't think the second book would rock me as much as the first, but boy was I wrong. I honestly think that Blake took over my heart just a little more than Mitchell did. The story behind the stories that were told in this novel were deep. I loved that it touched on a subject that is ruining the lives of many people that we come in contact with on a day to day basis. It was done in such a tasteful way that you had NO HOPE of NOT being able to root for the happy ending in this one!
Blake is flawed. He is a gorgeous, band playing, mystery ridden, puzzle of a man. Not to mention he is Alpha to the core. Having gone through things that put him on a path to self destruction - he looked for support just as many of us would. With wanting to keep things a secret from the very people he spends just about everyday with - he went elsewhere for that support and found it in an online support group. Over the next four years, he would bare his heart and soul to this person - having never seen her face. The bond between the two is unlike any other and they have never even met before.
Gabi is the face behind the support for Blake. Having her own reasons for being in that support group - the two of them help each other through things in which they would rather keep to themselves. But how do you go 4 years telling your ever waking detail to someone and never seen their face? Imagine Gabi's surprise when that very face appears unannounced on her birthday. I loved Gabi from the very beginning. She is headstrong, upfront with you and isn't afraid to give what she is given. Her only rules are no secrets and no dishonesty. Sounds simple enough right?
I HATED what I knew was coming. You know, that part in the story that you know is about to sneak up on you, but you wish with everything that you have that it won't. Yea, all my wishing didn't seem to work. At all. Crap. Blake is a manly man. 4 years ago someone else saved his life. Never knowing if she truly knew or not - she's the reason he is still around today. Yet, at some point in his life - he is going to have to be his own savior and that time seems to have come. He just wishes it didn't have to come with no way out. How does he save himself without breaking one of the only rules that Gabi has laid out for their relationship?
Passionate Addiction was so beautifully written that each and every emotion jumped off of the page and grabbed your attention. You couldn't help but root for them in this novel. You also couldn't help but feel every feeling with them. I LOVED the fact that they had a "counts and doesn't count" kind of thing going through the entire story. It reminded me of a game that my husband and I still play to this day. It happened to restore my faith that the small things are sometimes the very thing that bring out the best in people. I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, or should I say STEAMY romance. Trust me - Eden knows how to write her steam into an already well written book!

It’s not your typical secretary in love with her boss story.. I know it might SEEM like that in the opening pages and the first few chapters – but take my word that it turns into so much more. This is the first book I have read by Melinda Harris and I can honestly say I am nowhere near disappointed.
Jules is like most people are in life. She is living day to day not content at all in anything that is going on. She’s working a jobs he both loves and hates at the same time, yet won’t leave because of Mr. Boss Man. She has family issues out the yang and no idea in the world how to deal with them, let alone cope with the issues that are her family. She has a best friend that most people would kill for & the two of them together made me smile so many times in this book. She thinks and acts with her heart more than her head and it makes me love her even more.
Andrew is the definition of a hottie with baggage. He has some serious family issues himself, yet his are entirely getting in the way of everything that could possibly make him happy. He knows what he wants, yet has no way of going after it without dealing with the problems that seem to be piling up right in front of him. He’s another, that when the time is right, acts with his heart instead of his head.
The story of Andrew and Jules brings a smile to my face every time I think about it. I know that things like this (with a little flourish for readers sake) happen to people in real life and it makes the story have that much more meaning. I was rooting for them the entire book, even when I wanted to smack the crap out of Andrew! The book is brought to life even more with Abby (the best friend)! I am telling you, this read is more than worth it! You won’t be sorry you gave this one a try. Melinda Harris wrote a story for the heart that struck every single cord!(less)

Why, you ask? Well, because when I was offered the chance to read this one, I hadn’t read Thursday Nights yet. I went back and read that, to go back and re-read Storm Front. I must say, I got a much better understanding of it after reading book #1! To be completely honest, I have been in such a book depression lately (hence the lack of review post) & this book got me out of it!
Ashley & Ryan were childhood friends (LOVE these stories!). Just when they decided to test the waters and decide to see exactly what was between them, tragedy happens.. & we all know much too well how tragedy can tear two people apart. I completely LOVE how this is written in two different tenses. I love books that give us all the insight of the future, as well as a look into the past also. It literally drew me in and kept me captive from beginning to end!
Ashley, like most of us, has a troubled past. I love that she grew into her own and is a woman who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants and doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. She has such a fire about her that I was instantly drawn to her character and actually related to her more than I thought I would. She had such emotion. Not just randomly here and there, but she OWNED her emotions. Every single one of them – from anger to passion to outright brutal honesty. She’s trying her hardest to overcome her past and face her future head-on – all while still finding herself and adapting.
Ryan.. Sweet baby Jesus Ryan. Lisa N. Paul wrote one amazing character when she wrote Ryan. Sex appeal out the yang just added to my attraction to him. I love how driven he is, that his determination is the main driving force of who he is as a man. Having faced his past and let go of all demons he held on to – he has turned into one amazing person. I think it’s such an act of fate that the two of them were thrown together once again. I don’t think she noticed it at first, or at all, but she needed him more than she ever though she would.
This was such a compelling story. The story line was flawless and flowed with what seemed like no effort at all. Storm Front is a romantic, firey, grab your heartstrings and take you for a ride kind of read. It was written with such detailed conviction that you couldn’t help but open your mind and let the characters run free. It was so vivid in my mind, just from reading the words, that I felt like there was a miniature movie playing in my head. Those are my favorite kind of books to read. You know, the ones where you can picture everything so clearly!
I would recommend this book to anyone who takes a chance on romances. It’s such a beautiful story that I think it should be given a chance by everyone.(less)

While it’s not your typical, it came to live in a way all of its own. Kind of like a real life Cinderella story. I know I normally stick to books that make me think it can happen in real life, but this one really worked for me!
Sam has been infatuated with Ethan since as long as she can remember. As a teenager, she had posters of him hanging on her wall. I mean, who wouldn’t be intrigued with this movie star? Imagine her surprise when he starts filming a new TV Series right there in her hometown. She, along with half of the town, camp outside of the filming on a regular basis in hopes of meeting Ethan and the rest of the cast. Sam doesn’t attend as often as the others because she has a son at home that needs her. After camping out turns up no run-ins with Ethan, she almost decides to give up. Imagine her shock when she finally gets her chance to meet him at a fundraiser.
Weeks after that fundraiser, she has yet to hear from him again. Then, one day outside the set – he ask her to dinner. This is where it turns into kind of a Cinderella story. I am not going to go into detail because I think it’s something that needs to be read to understand. This story is one of pure, hopeless love. It catalogs the trials and tribulations that come along with dating someone famous. I love that it shares all ups and downs, the good, the bad and everything in between. The characters were well written and the plot of the story was easy to follow.
I will say that I wish there was more interaction with Sam’s son. I felt like he was with his grandmother just a little too much. Or maybe that’s just me – I tend to be paranoid with my kids so they don’t go away from me that often, so for all I know – this could be normal! lol. I HAVE to comment on the plot twist. HOLY CRAP. I didn’t see that coming. Seriously – out of left field. Do I think it took away from the story? No. It was just unexpected. Yet, that is what I love most about books! I adore the ones that can surprise me.(less)

To say that I completely adored this book would not be doing it enough justice. Being the wife of a Soldier of my own, I think I signed up for this event strictly on principal. I am extremely glad I did because I got to enjoy one amazing story. A story that after reading, I went back and read the first two novels as well! If you’re planning to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine soon, this is the perfect book to add to that mix!
Ellie is someone I connected with instantly! While I don’t teach dance, I am the sister of a soldier lol. Most of the things she felt and thought in the book, even when it came to her pen pal, I knew from first hand experience. After falling for the wrong guys over and over again, she decides no guys for a year.. Good thing too, because the one person that she actually CAN see herself with, is on the other side of the letters she has looked forward to reading. Hoping to connect with him on another level when he returns, she’s kind of shocked whens he loses all contact with him for months. Then she meets “Hunter” and things just… well they just get interesting.
I 100% LOVED Charlie. He reminds me so much of so many of the soldiers I have come to know and love! Seeing what they see over there and doing what they do — most of them choose to go the non commitment route, since they are gone so much, it seems to be easier for them. After he survived the attack that injured his best friend, Charlie decided that he needs to make some changes in his life. Imagine his surprise when Sam introduces him to Ellie has Hunter.. Like I said before.. things get interesting.
I love Sam as the older brother type. Although he and Hunter are close, is in no shape, way or form happy about him starting a relationship with Ellie. One of Charlie’s biggest struggles is bouncing back and forth between the loyalty he has for Sam and the feelings he has for Ellie. Waiting on the biggest turn of events to smack everyone in the face was nail-biting! I loved every single second of it though!
This was such a beautifully written story! I loved the emotions portrayed from the characters. I felt each and every single one of them, having lived some of them before. I think the way the events played out went perfectly! The flow of the story seemed effortless and I read the entire book in one sitting! I honestly could not get enough! Falling for Her Soldier by Ophelia London rocked my life & I plan to read any book written by her from this point on!(less)

For some reason, this is the second series that I have come across in the past month that has been written about my hometown. I must say I am quite excited about this small fact. Reading about books that are written in a place that I know like the back of my hand, makes everything about this book so much more vivid to me as I am reading it. It's like I can picture exactly what everything is and not have to "imagine" it, you know? Aside from that tiny detail, there are so many reasons as to why this book just did it for me.
Lexi. She reminds me so much of me that it's just a little bit uncanny. Here you have this amazing strong women who is so driven in her quest to create this life so different from her past, that she doesn't realize she is letting her past run her present. In an effort to move on, she has go go back and face the biggest, most horrible thing that happened to her, which could also put her right in harms way. Along for the ride just happens to be the one man her heart can't forget about, Josh Cooper.
Josh is pretty amazing in his own right. Being the body guard to her sisters famous husband means that Lexi sees alot of him. Josh knows his heart wants Lexi, but having been told that she doesn't want to settle down with a family, his heart also knows that Lexi is off limits if he has any hopes of getting married and raising kids again. Of course, the heart wants what the heart wants and after some amazingly awesome "adult time" - you really can't keep emotions in check.
Watching the two of them battle their inner demons as well as the outer ones had me rooting for them as well as wanting to give them both a good swift kick! The flow of this story was perfect. I honestly didn't see some of the twist coming, but they fit right in with the way the book was going. I laughed an awful lot with this book - but I must admit that it made me tear up just a little bit too. Then again, most good books do! Josh and Lexi pull at your heart strings in this one, but you just can't help being on their team!
Aside from those two, this book had family dynamic out the ying yang. I LOVED Josh's twin boys. I about died laughing every time one of them opened their mouths. Talk about mature for their age! I can only hope my daughter has that kind of smarts when she is 16! Sheesh! You will not be disappointed in this book and I cannot wait for the 3rd installment!(less)
This book was... entrancing. Yeah, I am pretty sure that's the word I was going for! I am a sucker for any book that brings out legit emotions inside me! You know, the ones where it doesn't tale over HALF OF THE BOOK to get to you?! I like the emotions to be off and on throughout the book, because I think it helps me to connect with the characters better. To feel what they feel, see things how they see them && see a little of myself or parts of my life in them. To me, it makes reading the story all that more enjoyable. If you are like me - you thought NOTHING could top Carter. Well - let me assure you - Jesse has done just that!
Jesse is seriously my version of an Alpha Male. & we ALL know how I love me some Alpha Males. Throw in a motorcycle and things are really getting hot and heavy in the downtown lady regions! & his eyes.. DUDE'S EYES! Jesse's determination was overall one of my favorite things about him. Despite everything that seemed to be working against him, he was dead set on making Emery "his" - and in his mind - not a thing was going to get in his way! His patience, kind and caring heart & his overall love is something that most would think make him a little less Alpha Male, but in all honesty, I think it just adds to his insane Alpha Male sex appeal! Really, women love nothing more than a man who can take charge, but show compassion at the same time!
Emery is amazing in her own right. Like most of us, she's suffered some heartbreak and struggle in her past, which leaves her a little closed off to anything that resembles love.. or even lust for that matter. Throw in the fact that she has health issues trying to work against her - HIDDEN medical issues at that. This reason alone is what keeps her guards up around her heart. A heart she is determined to keep shut off from anything male - especially THIS MALE. Try as she might - and try she did - I found it kind of comical that each attempt she made to distance herself or to assure herself that there was nothing there - failed. Like, epically failed. I know it shouldn't have been funny - but watching someone fight something that is pretty much fate telling you, THIS IS HOW IT'S GOING TO BE, is a tad funny. Especially since she had NO CHANCE at all. Her poor, poor guarded heart!
Another character I feel I have to mention is Reid, Emery's dad. Talk about father of all fathers! This dude is epic. I loved him to freaking pieces!
Amy Gregory wrote one heart warming, emotion ridden, spirit lifting, laugh out loud story and I loved every minute of it. I am glad I got a chance to read this novel, as well as book #1 Racing to Love: Carter's Treasure. I must say, I am def planning on read book #3 Racing to Love: Brody's Love. If you haven't gotten around to it yet, this is one series I HIGHLY suggest you make time to read!(less)
I both loved and & questioned my love for this book. Yeah, I know, "how is that possible?" Well, let me just tell you.
For the most part, this was an awesome story. The beginning was just a little slow for me, but once the story picked up, it was very hard to put down!
Here you have Chase. Swoon worthy, mysterious, fun loving cowboy Chase. Living with his mother and her new husband, he finds himself in a new school where unless you have tons of money, you just do not fit in. Too bad they don't know his little secret.
Insert Briar stage left. One of the said rich people, cheerleader, jock boyfriend and all around girl that most girls wish they were in high school. So why does Chase find her wandering through the park at night, scratched, bloody and drunk?
While I loved reading the story of these two, there were just some things that left me with questions. For instance, what sane grandmother lies to her her granddaughters parents about letting her go to a ranch with a boy they hardly even know? Some parts of this story were a bit rushed, while others were either talked about in passing or brought up once with no lead up and that was that.
With all that said, this was a super cute read!(less)

Miller wrote an amazing story with Never Let You Fall. As you all know, I just recently got into the fantasy novels. I am a hardcore Romantic Suspense reader. I have to say though, I am glad that I am branching out – otherwise, I would have missed this amazing novel! This one actually managed to make my favorites list! My favorite thing about this book – was it was packed with never ending! It was a TON of boring character profiles or back stories that just seemed to drag on and on. It literally jumped right into the awesome and kept right on going all the way to the end!
Skye is something else altogether.. Like the rest of us, we have trust issues. On the other hand, hers have come to her naturally. After all, if I were her, I would have some serious trust issues also! She’s facing down a life that most could only DREAM of.. Seriously; it’s the stuff made of some serious medication induced dreams & this chick isn’t even technically classified as an “adult”! I LOVE that she doesn’t just shrug her shoulders and go “oh well, lets kick some butt,” but she actually struggles and falls and gets back up. It’s a progress of her understanding and accepting AND THEN deciding to take on the world. Seriously; it was epic. I’d totally want a best friend like her!
Xander.. Oh goodness.. His name alone sums up everything I want to sit here and type about him! I know we all go through book boyfriends like it’s NOTHING – but this dude just topped my list. & that is NOT something easy to do! He’s loyal as crap, very protective, easy on the eyes & despite the Alpha male thing he has going on – his sensitivity (where Skye is concerned) shows through quite often! He is her savior through everything she’s going through. He is the one steady that seems to be a constant in her ever changing life. The connection between the two was seriously a joy to read about! I loved that it was a progress and not instant! It was also wonderfully written!
All in all; this book is one that you just MUST read! I refuse to go on and on about it, because then it just gives away the book & then there is no point in you reading it. Which means you miss out on the EPIC that is, Never Let You Fall!(less)
Well, with a phrase like “Burning with need for two very different men” in the synopsis – how could I NOT want to read this book. I LOVE a book filled with indecisiveness! Especially when it has to do with two very good looking men! What I love most about this book is that it was constant. Constant action, constant evolving and constant plot direction. I honestly didn’t find my mind wandering at all with this book – I was engrossed in it the entire time. It might seem just a tad slow to you AT FIRST – but honestly; it’s just the introduction of everyone && it seriously picks up after that.. Page Turner!
Like most interesting books, our lovely Rena is sort of an outcast. Apparently; this is something that can be blamed on her mother. You will totally learn why when you read this one! (Yea – I’m not spoiling ANYTHING for you! This is def a MUST read, so I am giving nothing away!) What I love most about Rena? Despite being who and what she is – she has a softer side. A side that would be referred to as her “human side” & a side that some would rather she hide away completely. I 100% think it makes her a better person! It shows a more REAL side of her and gives just a touch more insight to the kind of person that she is.
So.. unable to ignore her calling, she decides to see what’s up with all these crazy rogue Drakan. Of course, things can’t just be simple for her and here she is… caught in the middle of TWO lovely male specimen! I LOVE the fact that this triangle is full of danger and mystery – it makes it that much more intriguing :) Our two lovely males are named Noah and Julian.. Yeah; they have THOSE kinda names! In all honesty, I STILL have a hard time choosing between the two, so I can see why Rena has her work cut out for her!
I will point out that there are some steamy scenes in here. & not your typical scenes either. Seriously. You must read this book. Not just for the amazingly sexy scenes, or the drool worthy males – but because the characters are just awesome. I feel like I could have said way more in this one, but I honestly don’t want to get anything away! & since the pages turned THAT fast for me – I feel that one little slip will give away too much away. So I will end this with GO AND READ BREATH OF FIRE! I can’t wait for the next bo (less)
I was actually quite fond of this story :) I love the fact that the events and things that happened in this book were so RELATABLE! I love nothing more than a story where you can be like, “OMGosh! This could actually happen to someone!” It makes reading it that much more special! I know we all love getting lost in imagination-land, but sometimes – it’s refreshing to know that the stories you are reading may have actually happened or COULD happen to someone!
Kat is like most girls, a romantic. She knows what she sees her life as in the romance department & that’s the direction she believes she is headed in. Until she has to give Marc a choice – it’s either me or whatever else there is that seems to be holding your attention more than me. What she didn’t count on was Marc being THAT GUY – who chose the whatever else, instead of her. So naturally, it’s time to move on. Who better than to help you move on than your best friend? So then we meet Julie, who is hell bent on getting Kat over Marc and decides to set her up on a blind date. Except, true to Kat form – things don’t exactly go her way – especially when she starts to find herself eyeing the one person who is very much off-limits!
What does one do when they find themselves falling for the very person their best friend likes? That very best friend who is trying to help you get over one of the hardest times in a girls life? GIRL PROBLEMS! We have all been there && I found it so easy to relate to the feelings being thrown around in this situation. She knows what she wants and she wants to go after it, but not at the cost of hurting her friend. Can she have her happily ever after AND keep her best friend? Again, GIRL PROBLEMS!
This book was lovely! It was charming, realistic and often completely humorous! Seriously, I don’t think I could be any more in love with this book! I even read parts of it to my 6 year old because she kept asking me what was so funny! I would recommend this to anyone who has ANY KIND of romantic bone in their body! Dina Silver wrote such an amazing story! It’s so easy to relate to and you cannot help but connect with the characters.(less)

I loved this book for many, many reasons. The main reason being that for once it was the guy in the relationship that wanted to step things up and take it to the next level. Kudos to Nate.
Here you have Kay. Sweet, lovely, scared to death of any kind of change, Kay. She is so used to having complete and total control over everything in her life, that she literally doesn't know how to handle things when Nate tries to step up their relationship to the next level.
Poor Nate. For years the the two of them get together with friends at the beach every summer and each summer, the love connection with the two of them grows even stronger. What do you expect after not seeing someone for an entire year? Finally able to support his decision mentally as well as financially, Nate is ready to step things up. He's tired of the random emails, phone calls, post cards and few weeks every summer. He wants something more... stable. I mean come on! He bought a HOUSE for crying out loud! So when he ask Kay to marry him - her reaction is not one that he expected!
I loved not only the love story this book offered, but the dynamic of the side characters as well. I don't think the friends they surrounded themselves with in this book could have been written in any better! I would love to see some future books on some of the others from this story! They were mighty interesting! I also fell in love with the emotional roller coaster this book took me on. While the entire story takes place over one summer, it is packed with enough intrigue to keep those pages turning!(less)
Since I read the first book in this series, Fall For You, I knew I just had to read So Into You. I've been looking forward to Ellie's story! I've been intrigued with her since the first book, where we caught little glances into who she is, where she came from & parts of her past that were revealed.
How fun would it be to live you life based on a set of Yoga Mantras? Seriously! This is what Ellie does & so far, it has worked for her. However, this year, she meets Edward. The one thing she cannot understand is why every.single.time she things they are getting somewhere, he pulls away. (UGH! Just like a guy!) So she finds herself wishing (against the mantra, of course! BAD ELLIE!) that something, ANYTHING, would happen to just give her something more with him.
Edward is such a freaking sweetheart. If only more guys could be like him! Attracted to Ellie? Yes. Wants nothing more than to kiss her? Yes. It just so happens that he can't. Yup, you read that right - he cannot kiss her. Why? Well. To him, he has a very justifiable and valid reason. So what does he do? What any boy/man does when they try to make things right. He Screws Up. The good news is, he made up for it so fantastically, that the screw up really didn't matter anymore! (Go Edward!)
Gray really knows how to write her supporting characters. I LOVED the fact that Lizzie and Dante were in this book too! I felt that we needed to get to know them just a little bit more! Josh and Emma were back - with their matching attitudes of "drama & I want to punch you in the face". FUN! We were treated to a new character in this book by the name of Fanny. Looking forward to reading a little more about her! I really enjoyed this book just a little more than the first one. Not that this is a bad thing! Ellie's story just happened to intrigue me just a little more! :) (less)
Well, first off -- that cover. Yeah, you can seriously see why my attention was grabbed ! Then I.. really, there is no "then," I am a sucker for hot, HOT covers. Then again, what woman isn't?! I will say that I have some mixed feelings on Rock Her. Don't get me wrong, the thing rocked my face - I just thought it was going to be something different. While I can admit that I was expecting Super Sexy, Bad Boy Rocker that gets into all kinds of crazy mischief and super insane sex scenes - the Kip I got to know was quite awesome in his own right.
Kip's personality shines right through the pages and you just can't help but to love him. All of him. The good, the bad and the ugly. While we learn SO much about Kip, there were some things I wish would have been touched on just a little more. His past, for one thing, is simply intriguing. Then again, I LOVE learning about what makes a person the person they are today. I would have to say my favorite thing about Kip is his ability to tell you like it is. I love nothing more than someone who isn't afraid to be blunt. Lets face it, sometimes, it's just needed.
Annie, amazingly, has that very same ability. The dialogue between the two of them kept me constantly laughing. It was pleasing, and very welcomed. Annie is woman who knows what she wants this biography to be and is determined to see that it turns out exactly like she wants. No bad boy rocker is going to ruin her plans by only sharing HALF of himself! Spirited and headstrong - it's no wonder the two of them make for some awesome fireworks!
I feel I must touch on the hot, Rockstar sex. AMAZING. Seriously, those scenes were definitely not a let down! While this book left me with a few questions, I am looking forward to the next one in hopes that some will be answered! That, and I want to continue with the characters from this novel! I seriously hope the next one is going to be about Jack! Oh! && I am looking forward to it for the panty rocking, of course :)

When Lily helps a Gypsy, she is given a medallion that is said to bring her one true love to her. Well, how could that be, when years before, Lily lost her husband? After losing him to the war, Lily finds herself at her friend, Eugenia's home. Between the both of them, they both have wounds that need to be healed and it seems as though they are just the people to help each other out. While Lily is trying to get over the death of her husband, Gina has her own issues she is dealing with. Maybe one can move on and one can come out of the sadness that has overcome her. - Somehow, during the process of healing, Lily attracted the attention of Gina's brother, Duke Mountjoy.
Mountjoy - who is engaged to Miss Jane, knowing it is his "job" as Duke to marry her, can't seem to get Lily out of his head. After seeing her help his sister out of the state of sadness she was in and actually see a SMILE on her face - his fascination with her grows. On one hand, he is engaged and on another, he can't get images he shouldn't be having about another woman out of his head. What is a man to do?
- Insert hot - steamy - no strings attached affair here -
Is this really love? Or is the magic of this said medallion that Lily obtained from the Gypsy? Either way, they are on one wild ride! With Lily trying to overcome her heartbreak and Mountjoy already set to be married, will true love be enough to last - or will the magic die out?
While the banter and the chemistry of the two main leads was well written, I was a little thrown off with how slow the plot was. I found myself wanting to put the book down 3 or 4 times. I HONESTLY can't tell you if it was because I am not a huge fan of Historical or if it was just that off for me, but I know there was SOMETHING that was making me 2nd guess reading it. Another thing is I found myself having to flip back sometimes to try and figure out how we got from one point to another. Scene changes weren't all that smooth. Aside from that - this was a pretty okay story!
My Review We all know I am a lover of suspense! Add in some romance and you have a winning combination for me! I think that is what got me about this book! The romance was just missing :( Don't get me wrong, it was there.. just kinda not there.. Make sense?
The synopsis of this book is what pulled me in! I mean really - from the sounds of it - amazing right?! Staying hooked once I started however, was a bit challenging. For me, this book started a little slow! I wish it had picked up before it did! While it did start to pick up in the middle - the end threw me off! lol
Here you have Sam, a DEA agent taking some time after a undercover job gone wrong. On the other hand you have Marice, who seems to be headed down a path filled with nothing but destruction. How does a DEA turn away from destruction? He doesn't! So.. Throw the two of them together and see what happens? You betcha!
While the two did find romance while trying to figure out just what was going on in Marcie's life - the story mainly focused on the myster/suspense part of the plot. As far as plots and story lines go - they flowed well together, just wish they would have picked up in spots alot more than they did! The moral of this story, however, is one of the main reasons I enjoyed this book. Everyone at some point in their lives have wondered which path to take and if was even the right one. Marcie chose a path that was laced with good - she even found love in it! :)I'd say she was a winner!
The ending was not what I wanted to be at all! I know it probably worked for some people, but there were just some things that didn't add up to me! I really hope to see certain characters from this book, in other books. Something in me is just saying that their stories didn't play out enough to call it the end!(less)
