Since new movie opens I wanted to come here and do a little b*tchin.
I think Stephenie Meyer sat down and thought a lot about how she could write an encyclopedia length book and not give anything that counts.
Whole book was predictable, but (view spoiler)[ I couldn't predict such boring confrontation of Volturi and Cullen coven. I kept reading, thinking "Ok, it'd better start getting ugly, c'mon attack already!" but nothing happens, everything is kinda soved by diplomacy.
While all the idea of a teen being married is absurd (for me) then comes the *high pitched* 'pregnancy'. When that happened I said 'I knew it, so Jacob would imprint her child and they'd live happily ever after.' I never thought the writer would choose such a cheesy way to solve problems. And it's ok to fall in love with a 1 minute old girl. 'it's a girl!' 'Oh, i'm in love.' ok ok we know 'it's not like that.' Still... And, who names her child renesmee? I bet she tried to eat her mother just because of that ridiculous name.
And there's the sex scene we've all been waiting for for like 10000 pages. Guess what? It doesn't happen. They wake up and, voila! I'm all bruised and he's such an emo about it. You shoulda let her do the job. 'Gently.' Ugh!
I was starting to feel really annoyed at Bella in what was it? Eclipse? Ok. 'You're my sun but, who can fight an eclipse, right?' But it'll be ok because I'll give birth to a child just for you Jacob. It doesn't matter I kissed you -tongue included- and I reeallly liked it. I was saving that kiss for my daughter. You're so right for me, Jacob but, I want Ed cuz he's soo cool. literally.
In this book, I wanted Edward to kill Jacob and Volturi to kill Edward so Bella is screwed and she'd age and live miserably for the rest of her life.
I picked the first book right after I watched the movie trailer. I thought there was a vampire who falls in love with a human girl, and defends her against his own coven. I thought it would be good exploring being human, defying your own family for the sake of love just to make sure your lover stays human. But appearantly we are human because we should experience sex as human beings. first book was different then I expected but I was ok with it, I liked it. When I saw the Turkish translation I understood that it was not as good (in terms of good writing). It was one of my first novel length English lang books. Oh, look, I experienced my first English book as a human! What are you looking at? It was great ok? Even though I have no idea how it feels, at least I didn't get all bruised... I'd give that book bruises if I could.
My step vampish daddy has an island, so we can sparkle as much as we want. I don't feel thirsty for your blood anymore but I may not be able to control myself cuz this is my first time over 120 or whatever years. So i'll crush our bed and bite pillows, while I'm giving you bru.. sorry.. giving you the time of your life. (hide spoiler)]
OMG such a ridiculous ending.
And I thought animal drinking emotional vamps is an original idea. Oh was i wrong? B*tchin is hard in English if what i did is actually bitchin :P["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>(less)

I couldn't really get into the story. It was simply not that interesting and I was (as I always am) distracted by descriptions, as if they were misplaced & cutting off the flow.
However the writer (or maybe the agent/publisher forced her to do so) went mostly with vampires and wolves there is a promise lying under the large range of creatures. The story around them could have been more intriguing. Instead story revolves around conspiracies and family dramas kind of like a soap opera.
If you have read various kinds of YA fantasy novels and have high expectations I don't think that City of Bones is for your taste.(less)
