Yes it is a bit darker and deals with the aspect of S/m a bit more, but that is who Ben and Marcie are. If you have read the rest in the series, you will not be disappointed in this one!(less)

Gray and Betsy used to be a thing 10 years ago until she moved to San Francisco for a job opportunity and Gray stayed behind to pursue his career. Now, ten years later they find each other coming face to face in a BDSM club. Gray always thought Betsy would look best tied up for him. But what he finds is Betsy dressed in her leather best, about to top one of the subs he played with in the past. She's not Betsy anymore. Oh no, it's Mistress Elizabeth now.
At this point, they realize they still want each other, even after 10 years have passed. But who is going to top who? Both of them have the domineering attitudes and neither are ready to give in and submit. Can this relationship go any farther if neither of them are ready to budge an inch on their set ways? Do they even want it to?
I have given this a 4 because it was a great read. Will I read it again? Probably not seeing as my TBR list grows daily. But if your into this genre, then go ahead and take a chance, you won't be sorry!(less)

This was a well-rounded story and had me hooked from the first page. The book was well-written and intrigued me as to the reason Lucien invited Sophie to the island. You knew he had ulterior motives from the beginning; throughout the book, your trying to piece together the hints the author drops as to what his motives truly were. The explanation in the end was truly a shock and made you feel for all of the characters and what they have been through. I loved this book and couldn't put it down once I started it.
Lucien is, plainly put, an enigma. Sophie is full of light and life, but still naive in some ways. The secondary characters and their relationships to each and Lucien are an absolute puzzle to behold, but they bring a certain air of caring and unabashed acceptance between one another.
Sophie is a reporter who gets a call that the owner of Ravenstoke castle is willing to let her do an interview and report on the history of the castle. Lucien, the owner, lures Sophie to his island to put into motion his plan of revenge, eight years in the making. The day Sophie comes to Raven Island, there is a fierce storm that ends up keeping her there for a week. While Sophie is exploring the castle the first night, she happens upon a trio having sex and is about to interupt, thinking the woman is nonconsenting and in pain; but Lucien stops her and makes her watch. Throughout the week, Sophie opens her mind to new experiences and becomes more empowered with her sexuality, all the while falling for Lucien and trying to unravel the puzzle he is.
Will Lucien finally get his long-awaited revenge? Will Sophie's love for Lucien enough to pull him back from the darkness? Read on to find out! (less)

Marcella has been Sean's assistant for about year. She handles everything for him from business meetings to trips with his submissives. Her wish to Oasis was to be able to spend one night has his submissive. So when his current submissive backs out on a charity program he had planned he wants to cancel. Shre realizes this is the chance she has been given and speaks up. Marcella tells him that she would do it in her place. That she would do anything to make him happy. But in order to do the show, Sean would have to take her as a submissive to learn her body.
There are three levels in this show. In one of them she must succumb to the whip. She tells Sean early on that she will try but that she doesn't get any enjoyment out of it. Sean's friend Fuller is invited to watch and help with the whipping scene if need be. Marcella tries to reach that point to please him but just can't do it. She is crushed when Sean leaves her tied to the bench and Fuller is left to care for her. How can the charity show go on? Once Sean finds out that he was her wish, what will happen?(less)

It felt like all the story was about was sex, but the more in depth your read, you could see the psychological aspect of it. During certain points of the book, you want to slap some sense into Zoe and ask why the heck are you doing this?
Zoe is a waitress who has had her heart broken in the past. It has taken her almost a year to get over her ex throwing her out. She now has some self esteem issues and is quite lonely. She was invited to participate in an experiment, but wasn't really sure what was expected of her; she just knew that she was being paid quite handsomly for her time and that she could quit at any point that she wants.
The "Doctor" sits in the dark to hide his identity and offers her money to do different things. In Zoe's mind, the doctor has made her into his slut and she comes to depend on his presence. He has made her realize that she is still a sensual/sexual woman and that she has a talent helping others with their so called problems. When her emotions are running high, Zoe feels the need to know what the doctor looks like and who he really is.
Will the "Doctor" live up to Zoe's expectations? Will the real reason behind his experiment send her packing? Read on to find out...(less)

She somehow is able to bring out a variety of emotions in her novels that keeping you deeply interested in the storyline even when you are finished with the book. The way she writes about the characters in her stories have you relating to them in some way. It is always a plus that she revisits former couples throughout her books and gives you updates on them too! But beware, all of her books contain some element of BDSM. So if that's not up your ally, I am sad to say your missing out on a great author!
All three main characters in this novel have their own backstory as to why they are where they are in their lives. Dr. Caleb Burke believes he wouldn't be good enough for any type of relationship and holds onto a past that has traumatized him for life. Alexei Markov is an ex-Russian mobster who now must start his life over, as the only thing he has known for so long was how to get revenge on the mob boss. Then there is Holly Lang, whose political husband shuned her after years of marriage and giving him a son thinking that she wouldn't fit into society's image of a political wife.
Alexei has come back to Bliss from witness protection looking to claim Holly as his own. While in witness protection, Alexei learns of Caleb's past and he believes that because Caleb saved his life when he was shot, that he owes him. Alexei realizes that Caleb needs Holly just as much he does and talks him into joining them in bed. Caleb says it is only sex he wants, but deep down really doesn't know how to have a relationship anymore and doesn't believe he deserves to be happy. Holly has her own problems with trying to believe how two godly men would want her, when she couldn't even keep her ex-husband wanting her. Alexei soon realizes that it may be best for him to move on as he doesn't have a job to support Holly and doesn't want to get her harmed by testifying against mobsters.
Soon there is an assasin on the loose trying to kill one of them. Who? They're not sure as all three have pasts that could come back to get them. Will Caleb come to terms with his past trauma before its too late? Can Alexei stay with them knowing he could be putting his partner and woman in harm's way? Will Holly come to find out that she deserves every happy moment she can get or will her ex-husbands dismissal continue to ruin her self esteem?
Alexei will steal your heart with his misuse of the English language and domineering ways, while Caleb pulls at your heart strings while struggling with his past and showing Holly his tender ways. Can this trio survive the storm its in for? Read on to find out!(less)

Somehow Lexi and Shayla made it work so it added to the depth of the story instead of taking away from it (which I find often happens when they jump back and forth).
We start out on Christmas eve and Jessa is working her Aunt's hotel bar. In walks some definite eye candy in the form of Burke and Cole. From the very beginning they charm Jessa and end up spending a wonderfully perfect week together. Then comes New Year's day when Jessa realizes it's a new year and she is ready to start a new direction in life with Burke and Cole by her side. But as fast as their worldwind love affair started, it abruptly halts. Burke and Cole got a call from work and need to move now. They vow they love her like no other and will return for her when their job is done.
Weeks turn into months and months turn into a year. Then all of the sudden a man is in Jessa's house trying to kill her and Burke and Cole show up just in time to get her out of her house and watch it blow to smithereens. Someone wants Jessa dead and Burke and Cole promise that she will be safe if it is the last thing they do. Jessa is torn because deep down she still loves these men but knows they have lied to her about things (supposedly to keep her safe), but that doesn't change that they walked out of her life and never contacted her until she was in trouble. Would they even be here if she wasn't in trouble? In her mind, probably not. But Jessa has a secret which will blow Burke's and Cole's minds. Will the guys be able to save Jessa in time from a fate almost worse than death? And if they do, can they work everything out to have a happily ever after? Read on and find out. I'm glad I did!
There's hot menage sex, deep emotions involved, miscommunication and a surprise all wrapped up in a great storyline. Lexi and Shayla do a wonderful job drawing you into a story and keeping your interest until the end. Next in line for this series is Their Virgin Concubine with I believe three brothers from Bezakistan, two of which we meet in this book. I am now anxiously awaiting that release! Keep up the great work ladies!(less)

So far, I have loved each book that Kally has written in this series and lose lots of sleep until I am able to finish each one!
This books starts off where Nobody's Angel ended (so please be sure to read the series in order!). Adam is in the hospital after the cougar attack and Karla is keeping vigil at his bedside to make sure that he is okay. Being "nurse" Karla takes a toll on her and she finally decides that it wouldn't hurt if she lies in bed with Adam to get some much needed sleep. Needless to say Adam wasn't happy when he fully awoke because he still sees her as someone too young to be with him. He also feels he isn't good enough for her because he can't love her back the way she should be. From that moment on, Karla declares war on Adam, letting him know that she loves him with everything she is and that age is just a number, but Adam has his own plan of trying to push her away because she deserves someone so much better, and so much younger. Can Adam rid himself of the ghosts of his past before Karla walks out of his life forever? Can Karla make Adam see that she is a grown woman and not some silly naive teenager with a crush?
The heat and sparks fly between these two from the very beginning and keep you hooked on this couple throughout the series thus far. There were some really great smoldering sex scenes and an awesome plot line that I have become accustomed to expecting from one of Kally's books, and let me say she didn't dissapoint me at all! I love how she gives glimpses into the other character's lives and gives a hint of what is to come (even though it leaves us anxious and biting our finger nails) in the series!
Thanks again for another great book Kally and I look forward to the future in reading about the rest of the Masters at the Masters at Arms Club!(less)

In this book, Brawn is to take over on the task force for Jessie Dupree and he needs to be geographically closer to the team when they get called in on a job. In order for him to do that, plans were made for him to move into Tim Oberto's (head of the task force) guest house which is currently occupied by his daughter, Becca. Tim is overbearing and overprotective of his daughter and demands she move back to the main house, but Becca stands up to him and says she is staying with Brawn in her house. Brawn is attracted to Becca right away but never wants to get involved with a human and Becca thinks to herself about asking him to dance for dollars ;) That night, Brawn and Becca get kidnapped and thrown in a cage together. Brawn is set on protecting her with his life, as he knows the horrors of being a captive and made to do things no ever should. The captors see the way Brawn acts toward Becca and exploit it. They turn to each other for comfort and support, not knowing when or if they'll ever get out of there.
Finally, the rescue team comes and Brawn and Becca get split up in the melee of things. Becca is being taken to be checked out medically to make sure everything is alright with her, but Brawn stays behind to answer questions. By the time Brawn makes it to the medical facility, he's told that Becca has gone back home and doesn't want to speak with him. Becca on the other hand is waiting for him to show up or call, but he never does. There are a lot of things leading up to the miscommunication and misunderstanding between these two, but can they figure out where they went wrong on their own?
I loved this book. Everyone of Mrs. Dohner's books are wonderful. Each one has their own story, but still overlaps into the others to keep you up-to-date. She has the perfect knack for writing stories that have interesting plot lines, yet steamy sex to keep it hot, and deep emotions to keep us rooting for the couple! Some people have complained about the heroine being whiny, but put in her predicament with her emotions full force, I would probably be the same. Not every character can be perfect, their flaws are what makes them real making us, the readers, able to relate to them more fully.
With that being said, great job Laurann! And definetly keep up with the books, I know you have a fan for life in me! (less)

I have never read a m/m book before, but with the hints of what was to come in Ian's book throughout the first two in the series, I HAD to read it. I'm glad I did too. This was a really good book and the dynamic between the two men was awesome.
Ian is reluctant to get into a relationship because of his past mistakes and the scars that they have left behind, so instead he throws himself into work. One night, "Blue Eyes" returns to the shop and they hit it off again, but Ian is the reluctant one on pursuing the other man as he thinks "Blue Eyes" is straight and just wanting to experiment. Throughout the book Ian has his issues with past mistakes and misconceptions. Will "Blue Eyes" wait long enough for Ian to get his act together? Find out for yourself and read the last in the series, "Pulled Long".
