The twists and turns were excellently executed. Jeffery Deaver is at the top of his form here.(less)

I finished the whole book in one sitting, breathlessly anticipating to turn the next page. The main romance however lacks something something. Sometimes all the sexy times interspersed between all the escaping and evading and investigating feel forced and rather obligatory. I even felt annoyed when the couple started fooling around because I just wanted to move on, to get to the next exciting part. I liked Gage and Kelsy enough in the prequel. I still like them here, but their romance doesn't do me anything anymore. The secondary romance...that's what I call interesting. All in all, Scorced still achieves the high standard of this excellent series and I wholeheartedly recommend it. 4 stars (less)

While not as great as the first two books in the series, The Silent Girl still leaves me with breathless satisfaction at the conclusion of the book, which I finished in one sitting no less. 4 and 1/2 stars(less)

Maybe I'm experiencing literary erotic aphyxiation. While dying to be released of this torture, I still want more. Gerritsen doesn't hold back on grusome. Abby was deliberately/wrongfully accused of mentally unstable. I suspect she would actually be so for real after the ordeal she suffers at the end of the book. The villains are so over-the-top and, considering they're supposed to be smart people, I find some of their actions unreasonably risky and unnecessarily evil.
In conclusion, Harvest is a very suspenseful page-turner. If you can get past the believable factor, it is a great pick to pass your time.(less)

The pace is brisk. The plot is quite tight. The mood is a little too oppressive as the heroine is dealt blow after blow after blow. Think Fugitive with more medical/technical detail and a female hero.(less)

However, when the whole plot is revealed, it's just too incredulous, too confusing to warrant 4-star standard the least I usually give Gerritsen's books. Any villain worth a dime would not go to that extent and waste that much time and resource just to accomplish what she plans to do, quite ridiculous.(less)

I'm not sure which one, but they are quite similar in plots. The ending is very abrupt and leaves a lot hanging. I have high hope for the two lead charaters to push through barriers and to be able to finally move forward, but I'm quite skeptical and a bit tired at this point.(less)
