I love how Lachlain protects Emma with everything he has (king and all). I truly was dumbstruck with the ending.. (Emma killing the leader of the Horde). We need a straight answer for the first question. Did you or did you not like this book?
MidnightF: I LOVED IT!!!!
RockChickF: DOWNRIGHT LOVED IT!!!
How much did you like it?
MidnightF: A lot! I'm giving it a 4.5 - Fairy Wings rating.
RockChickF: I love it so much that I'm betting I'll re-read this one for like a ga-zillion times. I am giving this 5 Fairy Wings, sorry Midnight! Haha!
MidnightF: I bet you're not really sorry! LOL. Well, I had to deduct the .5 for some minor editing issues, other than that, the book is awesome!
What makes it different from all the books that have nerd characters in it?
MidnightF: I guess it's because the book is more than just a love story. The characters are flawed and has emotions that made me easily relate to them.
RockChickF: I agree, Midnight. It's so much more than that. To me, this book is different, in a way that nerd books tend to just be cute to me. This one isn't just cute. That word doesn't give it justice. It's beautiful, adorable, dramatic, lovely, heart warming and goes so deep.
These are the first sentences in the book. How did you feel when you first read them?
I’m Drew Barrymore. Obviously I’m not really Drew Barrymore, but rather the character she played in the movie Never Been Kissed. So I’m Josie Geller. Josie and I have the same little problem. Just like her, I’ve blown out all twenty-five candles of my birthday cake and still have never been kissed. That’s where the similarities end, I swear MidnightF: I was immediately hooked! I love that film!
RockChickF: I was laughing. It felt as if this had a good promise of making me smile... and it didn't fail me! :)
MidnightF: *whispers* RockChick haven't seen the film.
In a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the highest, rate Sera's character. Justify your answer with awesome descriptions! ^_^
MidnightF: I'll give her an 8. I love that she embraces her nerd side. She cracks me up with her jokes and movie/book references. Although she has insecurities regarding her physical appearance, Sera has a huge heart. She's compassionate and caring. I also love her relationship with Matty.
RockChickF: I am giving her a 9 because I can relate to her so much. There were so many times wherein I would read about a certain situation, then I think so myself "If it were me, I would've...", then SHE REALLY DOES IT. It's uncanny! She has flaws, but those certainly waters down when I read about her taking care of the Hunter and Matty. I also don't care about her flaws when she's throwing out phrases like "For the love of Harry Potter!"
Who do you like more? Matty or Hunter? Explain in detail, PLEASE.
MidnightF: I like Hunter but I fell in love with Matty. I'm sorry Hunter! That kid stole my heart. He's such a sweet and adorable kid.
RockChickF: Although I appreciate Matty's role in everything, I still think that the dad is better. First, I have to give him big props for not leaving little Matty. If you read this book, you'd know that he could've left the little guy somewhere else and no one would blame him...much. However, he did it the hard way and he took care of Matty and HIMSELF, which brings us the the second reason.
I don't know if this will be a big give away, but I just have to put this out there, Hunter has diabetes. Midnight and I are both nurses, so we know the gravity of this situation. He's battling his condition everyday together with his child without much help from his family. That's huge. Okay, so I also thought that he was a player at first... but it's kinda hard to be a player when you need help for like 95% of the time.
Thirdly, I felt his sincerity as a character. I felt him reaching out to Sera even though it's not an easy thing, considering that Sera has a lot.. and I mean A LOT of insecurities. So yeah, Hunter also stole my heart because he's unafraid to show his feelings. Plus, I know that he's imperfect, he did some weird things there, but the fact remains that he apologizes when he knows he did something wrong. Nice, hot and a very good guy.
MidnightF: I agree with what you said RockChick, like Sera said, Hunter is a badass! I guess the reason why I love Matty more is because he's so happy and a very smart kid despite his limitations. (FYI, Matty also have Diabetes Type 1) Sick children always break my heart, because they should be able to play and have fun, as much as possible we try to make them comfortable when they are sick until they get better. However, Matty's (and Hunter's) condition will never go away, he's going to have to deal with it until he's older, and that's just sad because he's too young to be worrying about his food intake, blood sugar, insulin, etc.
Who do you hate more? The EX or the MOM? (You'll see why we're asking this when you read the book)
MidnightF: I'll choose the MOM. If it wasn't for her, the EX is probably long gone by now. She can find sexual gratification anywhere, she's just trying to get it from Hunter because of the potential monetary gain-- which is his Mom's fault.
RockChickF: DEFINITELY THE MOM. I am really imagining her as an ice queen... not like ELSA since queen Elsa's like so concerned about her sister, but more like the White Witch in Narnia.. all cold and calculating. I swear I could just gouge her eyes with the way she throws insults. I hope Sera does more of standing up to her in the next books!
Sera has a harem, oh! I mean friends. Who's your favorite among them?
MidnightF: Aside from Katie, the other character among her friends that made an impact was Russia. I'd love to know more about him, hopefully on his own book! XD
RockChick: I'd say Russia too. There's just something about him. He's funny, quirky, playful and also concerned.. a little too much. I think he got jealous in one particular scene here, so I guess I like him best because he's a potential third party! Haha! I mean... jealousy... Hunter wears it in the most adorable way! TRUST ME! ^_^
What can you say about the plot? What elements did it have?
MidnightF: I liked it. What I find special about this book is the hero. Most of the heroes in romance novels nowadays are physically strong, popular, very attractive, etc. Although Hunter is hot, he's not physically strong. In fact, in this book we saw him on his weak moments that could really scare the crap out of you if you're not familiar with his condition. I have to add Matty too, he's pretty special, I love that kid.
RockChickF: The plot is like something straight out of a movie. It has humor, romance, drama and also some heart pumping action. Midnight is also correct in pointing out that Hunter is portrayed to be very unique among romance heroes nowadays. It's refreshing. We also got to read about Matty... that adorable boy whom you can't help, but just love! His presence in this book made it more likable and interesting!
What part/parts of the story didn't you like?
RockChickF: I actually didn't like the way Hunter just lets his mom go everytime she insults Sera. I want him so stand up to her MORE. I didn't like Hunter's scenes with the EX as well. I hope they vanish altogether in book 2. haha!
MidnightF: I agree! The Ex and Mom are just awful. I also didn't like it when Sera doesn't believe the compliments other people give her regarding her physical appearance.
This book is a bit lengthy, was that an issue for you?
MidnightF: Not at all.
RockChickF: Nope. In fact, I want it to be longer. lol. Haha!

Let's first get this out of the way.. I did not read the first book because i figured that since i already watched the movie, i won't be thrilled with the first book anymore.. BIG MISTAKE! The book was nowhere like the movie. I mean, basing from the second book... it totally isn't one and the same. Ugh.. just look at the age. Anywayy.. i admit that i loved the movie. So i promise to read the first book when i get the time off.. or when i feel like it. haha.
So i loved the book. YES i love it!!! Actually, i listened to the audiobook while doing chores and checked the physical book from time to time. It was an enjoyable read.. FUN FUN FUN. Lots of adventure and lots of morals for kids. I mean, of course i sooo don't pass for a kid anymore yet i feel like i re-learned some values. Percy as a hero is surely a good kid. I like Annabeth as well because she's a brave one and because she never left Percy even if she calls her stupid 50% of the time. Their banters are precious. haha. I also grew to love Tyson.. hmm.. well.. because he's soooo frikkin loyal to Percy even at the time wherein Percy doesn't want him as a brother. I think i'd love to see Tyson in the next movie (yea, i'd like for the movie to have a sequel and i don't mind the difference in age.. i'll get over it.. eventually. ahha). Grover on the other hand... haha.. hahahahaha! i can definitely laugh out loud with his scenes here. He's one funny Satyr! what a dashing.. i mean blushing bride! Haha.. Oh well.. i guess it's quite obvious that i love the main characters. They made the whole book colorful and full of life. It's like i'm with them throughout their journey. I love it. The plot is just right..totally awesome and the end part? SHOCKER.

This is a story of two races that collide and make one hell of a universal mess. It's a story about chances, forgiveness, friendship and survival.
MARDUKE AND MATTIE
Marduke is from planet Oden. He's smart, strong and loyal to his family. Well, he was loyal until he meets Mattie. Mattie is an admirable girl with a strong personality. She's a girl who plays basketball and goes hunting with her dad. Yeah, she's a tomboy and that makes her a great survivor in the tragedy that came to the Earth. She's so strong, but of course there's a softness to all that hardness in her personality. That's where Marduke comes in. However, Marduke is from another planet. A planet that wants to invade Earth. Mattie is from Earth. Needless to say, it poses a big problem. I rooted for their relationship though. I like how their love story wasn't really hurried up. It was gradual (in my opinion). They were so sweet, thinking of each other in each other's POV. I enjoyed reading about how they started caring for each other. It's cute and lovable, though I am also thankful because the story didn't really revolve only on their love story.
LISA AND HANK
Lisa and Hank are good people. They didn't leave Mattie alone and they were there through and through. In a world full of chaos, I want my own Lisa and Hank. It doesn't even matter to me that I could be a third wheel. They are so loyal. :) These two characters make this book more interesting too. Their love story is kinda inspirational. I hope that in the future books, they'll have what they want for their future. :)
THE OTHER CHARACTERS
I must say, the antagonists here have their own unique characteristics. I could almost touch the ummm... robots. I could also almost pull the hair of Marduke's brother.. Well, I want to, that is. LOL. The kids also made the book interesting. Running with another small child is very risky and it upped the danger for these characters, thus making it more thrilling. All of them made the book really exciting and also colorful. I wish to see more characters in the next book.
ACTION PACKED STORY
This book is indeed full of action. It was like watching a movie. There's action at every turn. I wasn't bored, not for even one second! It's a really awesome ride!
WHAT'S MORE EXCITING HERE
THE PROMISE OF TRAVELLING TO OTHER PLANETS. I love the fact that Marduke explains his own heritage. I really like it that he came from another world. I love that this book promises great things. I am so excited to see more planets and more places.
WHAT I LEARNED
APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW. Think first before doing things that can destroy not only our environment, but also our own bodies. What struck me most here is the hesitancy of Marduke to do/eat things that he knows are bad for his body or environment. His planet actually has a point in capturing the Earth. I don't have to be an environmentalist or nutritionist to know that we humans are doing more damage than good to the Earth right now. This is why I was kind of ashamed by my own bad habits. I think this book managed to guilt me into lessening (since I'm not sure if I can give it up altogether) some bad stuff that I do to myself and to the environment.
WHAT I WANT TO SEE NEXT
I want to see what they will do to humans and I want to see more of other planets. I also want to see other POVs. This is bizarre because I usually hate having many POVs. I don't know... I just want to see what Hank and Lisa think. :)
When I was reading this, it felt real. I felt as if this could really happen. Now, I kinda don't want to drink soda anymore, or eat junk/ fast foods. It has life lessons for humans. This should really be made into a movie! It deserves all the applause! The author is damn good for making me feel that this book could be true someday.
I am definitely lucky to have read this book in advance. I want to read the next one ASAP.. LIKE NOW!! :)
Just when I thought I would never be okay again with short stories.. I get to read this.

I can definitely say that I am okay with this story being short. it's because to me, this book needed an immediate conclusion. I wanted the couple to be "okay" right away, so O'm perfectly fine with the length.
Nick and Ari's situation isn't very unique. In fact, I think many couples around the world experience this. Sometimes, the need to have a child is so overwhelming that couples forget what they really started together. They lose sight of each other and just grow apart after that. This is what exactly happened to Nick and Ari. They had to have a life altering event happen to them before finaly talking to each other again. That was just the first step. This book is about their journey to finding each other again. There are some bumps on their road, but if you ask me, the characters are so devoted to each other that there's no doubt that there would be a happy ending for them.
This is an emotional story. It will make you think as well as feel. Short, but really powerful, that's what this is.
I wish that all short stories are like this. :)(less)

I have been meaning to read another wolf series lately...and clearly, I chose well.
Pack Challenge didn't disappoint. It's not everyday that I get to read about an unlikely badass heroine. It's awesome how Sara, the limping scarred girl became alpha female to a wolf pack. Most of all, I just love her because she doesn't give up. She even endured the pain in her leg alone for such a long time.. and that is something to be said about her character. Nicely done, Ms. Laurenston. Zach on the other hand is handsome, strong, hot etc... well, he's just about everything that an alpha-male should be.
Their story is filled with humor, hot and sexy scenes, plus touching ones. I was teary-eyed about how the wolves (pures) treated Sara. Honestly, I wanted to comfort her too! I was really feeling sorry for her at first. As it turns out, I didn't need to cause she can totally wipe the floor with everybody else.
I love Zach and Sara's friends as well. They're all a bunch of fun balls. Their banters are really funny sometimes that I laugh out loud.. alone. I'm not sure yet who's gonna be next but I'm hoping that it's Conall.
So there we have it... another 5 stars! ^_^ I love you Sara! You're one of the best she-wolves. ;)(less)
The Mauve Fairy, The Rock Chick Fairy and the Midnight Fairy
We know that Lex knows how we fairies felt with the previous cover of Dearest Clementine. Any comment on Finding Dandelion’s cover? MauveF: Oh wow! The cover is W-O-W!! Yup capital letters. When I first saw it, I can’t help but keep on gushing and getting excited about this book. I know who did the graphic design which is Krista Ritchie, one of the twin authors of my beloved Addicted Series. She’s been doing their teasers and she’s a genius! She has a flair for these things apparently and her talent runs not only in writing but designing as well. Good job Krista!! High five! And I’m glad that Lex took the chance to have someone talented design her covers because I think a cover of a book is one selling factor. Not to add the cliché that first impression lasts. So there.
RockChickF: Needless to say, the cover is just plain AWESOME! :)
MidnightF: I love the cover! It's gorgeous! We reviewed Dearest Clementine and we all loved that book. What were you expecting to read in Finding Dandelion? MauveF: Hmmm I was expecting the same feelings when I read Dearest Clementine. There were comical, witty, hot-sexy, awwwww, heart-fluttering moments. There were also lots of friendship banters, and lots of unusual words. Jax was described in book 1 as a hot soccer player in his college. And who wants to pass up a sex-on-stick athlete dude? Not this girl!! LOL
RockChickF: To be honest, I was expecting to be pissed at Jax because hell, I was not satisfied with his character in Clementine's book. I expected to hate him and love Dani. I expected to have many complaints.
MidnightF: I loved Dearest Clementine and right after reading the book I knew that I have to read Jax''s story. Unlike RockchickF, I already felt that Jax isn't the person everyone is telling about in book 1. Sure he's rich, hot, popular, and a player but it felt like there's more to him than that... I expected Lex to show us a different side of Jax, something that he is hiding from the rest of the world. Would you say that you got what you expected? MauveF: Oh yes i sure did! And way way more!
RockChickF: No. I GOT WAY MORE. I GOT A VERY LIKABLE JAX and I got more from Dani's character. ♥
MidnightF: Absolutely! Lex nailed it, again. Let’s talk about the plot and story line... MauveF: The plot is all about college romance. And since this is a romance book, expect a lot of passionate, tender and loving moments. So there is this super hot college athlete who’s also affluent. He’s a womanizer, sleeps with all things that wear skirt but there is actually a reason why Jax’s like this. The other main character is Dani who is Clem’s roommate. She was hurt before and she has a bucket list and one of her list is to have a one night stand. Jax is celebrating his twenty first birthday and they met at his party. They have such a sexual chemistry and can’t help but hooked up that night. But something happened and Jax needs to go home immediately. The next time they meet, he can’t remember what happened and Dani was hurt. And there goes the story.
RockChickF: Unsurprisingly, the plot is good! I love the mystery and I love the gradual development of Jax' and Dani's characters.
MidnightF: Finding Dandelion have a very interesting plot line. I enjoyed watching Dani do stuff out of her comfort zone and at the same time I loved seeing Jax' kind and endearing traits. It was amazing to see how the characters developed and how they resolved their personal issues. Describe Dani. What do you love or disliked about her? MauveF: I love Dani. She is soooooo funny and a goof. I literally laughed out loud at her silly antics. Look at these lines:
He was amazing. I came like a fucking category-five hurricane.
“The thing about Reid is he couldn’t find my clit if it had a neon sign and balloons attached to it.”
It would be so much easier if I could disconnect from my attraction to him, but my body wants him the way a diabetic lusts for fudge. I swear his pheromones must be super charged because if he’s in the room, my follicles stand on end like he’s magnetized.
“You mean, am I glad that I had my privates glazed and de-furred by a German woman I swear was a Nazi in a former life? Because I have a huge-ass crush on you? Because I want to have your babies? Because I haven’t stopped thinking about you since we met?
Hahaha, I can’t help but laugh! Don’t you just love her?
RockChickF: I love how Dani thinks. She has this concrete view about some things. Plus, it helps that she's so hilarious without meaning to be hilarious! ^_^
MidnightF: I understand what you mean RockChickF! She's funny without meaning to. Anyway, I liked how she tries to live a little by doing crazy stuff. It takes guts to do those things she did, specially if you are originally a shy and silent kind of person. On the other hand, I didn't like how oblivious she was about her mom's condition. I became suspicious right away when her mom said that the video cam was broken, etc. However, I understand that Dani have a lot of things in her mind that she missed those signs. It's just sad that she didn't get to spend more time with her mom. Illustrate Jax. MauveF: Jax is an asshole! There were so many times I want to punch him and smack him at the head. But he’s a volcanic, lovable, extremely adorable, cute and charming asshole. The way he cares for Chloe, that was what endeared me to him.
“Had to squeeze in a blow job. It’s what gives me my superhuman strength.”
“Sure thing. We can even play the princess and the knight. You’ll be the princess, of course. I’ll be the knight. This time, you can even ride a horsey.”
Have I been abducted by aliens? Or is this incredibly hot girl on my couch about to sext another chick?
RockChickF: I beg to disagree, Mauve. I think Jax WAS an a-hole. haha! He was.. and then he just wasn't. I love him for being imperfect. I love him because he really was mind-boggled by Dani. It was oh so cute, the way he thought of Dani. In his mind, he already liked the girl for the longest time. There's just something lovable about that. I love how he thinks. I remember reading Dani's POVs faster so that I could get to Jax' POV. ;D He's pretty awesome... and hot. :)
MidnightF: Jax is a complex character. He's not what everyone thinks he is. I like the different sides of him. The "public" Jax which is the rich womanizing guy, and the "private" Jax which is a genuinely nice guy... someone who babysit and plays with a kid, a guy who had a difficult childhood, etc. He can be a real a** sometimes, but there are reasons for his actions. Jax is flawed, and that's exactly what I loved about him. What can you say about the secondary characters? Is there anyone you'd want to mention? MauveF: Travis!! He’s the ultimate BFF. Caring, concerned, a true friend to Dani. I wish he has his own book. I’m not shy with MM themes.
RockChickF: High five, Mauve! I love Travis too. He's just... always there for Dani. This book totally made me want a gay bff for myself!
MidnightF: It's a 3/3 then, I liked Travis too! He's such a great friend. I had a lot of gay friends since I was in grade school and they are really fun to hang out with. Enumerate the things you loved in this book. MauveF: I love that the story made me laugh, made me cry, made me swoon, made me melt, made my heart aches, and made me smile throughout the time I was reading it. I also love that the story is not the complicated, deals with so much angst that you can’t breathe and makes you want to throw your ereader type of story. I mean the story is not forced, the conflicts are not the fabricated kind. I love that it made me wish that there are more books like this so I will be in book-heaven most of my reading-time. And I love love that Lex is good at what she does and gives us books like this to love and cherish!
RockChickF: Like Mauve, I love how the story is funny, I love how it has drama and I love how the author wrote their romance. In my opinion, this book is a complete food for a person's emotion. It fed my want for love, hilarity and heartfelt moments.
MidnightF: I loved the story, the characters, the writing style and the emotion this book evoked. It was a wonderful read for me, I finished it in one-sitting. Great job Lex! Tell us about some things that you didn't like. MauveF: That unfortunate event at the end of the novel, I almost cursed Lex for making me cry hahaha. Snots running down my nose and my heart is grieving with Dani waaa
RockChickF: I didn't like the way Jax interacts with his mom. I think that if he'd had full conviction to cut his mom off his business from the start, he wouldn't have such big problems. LOL. The way his mom handled Dani's umm.. accident is just horrible! Added to the fact that she totally ruined Clem's perception in the past... Well, let's just say that I definitely don't like the lady.
MidnightF: I didn't like the part where Jax became suspicious about Dani's behavior, and that he believed his mother's lies. However, I couldn't stay mad at him because I understand where he's coming from. So, I didn't like that part but I wouldn't want it changed/removed from the story it either. Favorite moment/s in the book MauveF: I love the scenes during Dani’s recuperating period. They’re so sweet and Jax and Dani were able to get past their differences and awkwardness and were able to get to know each other. And there are so many sigh-worthy moments. And I love the parts where Chloe is present. I love books with kids! They’re fun to read!
RockChickF: I love their "friends" scenes. Haha! I swear I was LMAO when they were both trying to have a platonic relationship. I think we all love the after-accident scenes. They were just so adorable. Dani loosened up and that's awesome! ;) Gee.. I wonder what else Jax heard with all of those drugs in her system!
MidnightF: I loved the scenes with Chloe in it, it makes Jack endearing. And like the MauveF, I loved the moments when Jax took care of Dani after the accident. =D Favorite quotes or lines in the book. MauveF: I love these lines!
Finding Dandelion is the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
“Can I tell you I’ve been dying for you to fuck me senseless for the last four months?”
“Is there one perfect girl out there for Jax Avery who will help him get past his man-whoring ways?” She narrows her eyes as she reads the message that floats to the top. “It is decidedly so.”
“We stay together.” “Because you’re what makes me want everything else.”
RockChickF: "I think I'm in love with you." "It's about time." --> A badass response, if I say so myself. ;D
MidnightF: I like the following lines:
There’s nothing wrong with being nice. I’ve hated that description for so long, but I’m done apologizing for who I am. #OwnIt
“Danielle, don’t be afraid to fall in love. It’s scary as hell, but it’s worth it.” How do you feel after reading Finding Dandelion. MauveF: I was happy and contented and my heart ached. I felt gloriously elated. So many feels! This is the kind of book that when you start reading it, you cannot stop. And time flies by. You’re not aware of your surroundings. You’re in your own bubble and the characters are the only ones that exist. And after closing the book you stare ahead of you, not seeing anything but in your mind you’re reliving all the things that transpired, imagining again all the things that happened! And you cannot help but miss the characters again. Hoping you can unread the book so you can read it again. *sigh*
RockChickF: I felt predominantly happy. There are so many things that could be said about this book. It's just truly one emotional ride. I love where the characters are in the end. I love what happened to them and I'm just so happy for them...like they're real people (which, of course, in my mind they are!).
MidnightF: Very satisfied! After the emotional roller coaster ride, the epilogue just made me happy. I'm so glad that Dani and Jax got their HEA.

Here's one story that i think i'll always remember. I was really curious about this. I thought I Team was a group of mercenaries or special ops. I never thought that it's a friggin news team! Genius!
The story revolved around a writer and a senator. Yeah, an unlikely couple but they worked things out. I love the plot! totally dig the paper! Reece is totally dreamy! He's everything i want in a hero! Smart sexy and realllllyy sweet. On the other hand, i love Kara because she's like WONDER WOMAN. She does everything and she's very strong. Her character was built to withstand pressure and everything else. I was so engrossed and i really wanted to find out who's behind everything. To tell you the truth, i thought the mastermind was the hero's best friend. I'm still sad for him though.
Anyway... i was strangely reminded of this while reading Extreme Exposure:
yea! Maid in Manhattan. Not that Kara was a maid.. but she's a single mom and Reese is a Senator! ^_^
MidnightF: Rock Chick Fairy recommended the book to me, so I decided to check it out. Thanks Rock Chick Fairy!
RockChickF: You're most welcome, MidnightF. Before I answer your question, I'd like to point out that I am a big fan of THE LITTLE RASCALS. One of my favorite scenes in that movie is that scene wherein Alfalfa sings "Oh My Darling, Clementine". There's just something about a boy singing his heart out, belting that song. ;)
Anyway, needless to say, I was very.. and I mean VERY interested after seeing the title. Then I read the blurb and I was sold! It's just so darn interesting.
MauveF: Well, I know Ms. Lex Martin from the Addicted FB support Group. She’s a also a fan of KBRitchie. We’re fangirling over the books at that group. It was there that I’d known that she’s an upcoming author. I think it was Jenn, a fellow admin in that group, who said that she has a book coming out. She’s also one of my online FB friends. And once I’d known the book, I added it immediately in my TBR
What is your first impression of the book? (title, book cover, etc.)
MidnightF: The title sounded historical to me, I mean I thought the book was a historical novel and then I saw the cover... so not historical at all. I'm not a huge fan of the cover but the blurb piqued my interest plus RockChickF said its a must read so... After reading the blurb and RockChickF's praises, I was like: "this sounds like a FUN read!"
RockChickF: Oh, my first answer stands. I love the title. The cover was ummm.. not the best, but it'll do. I guess my first impression is.. CUTE!
MauveF: If you really know me at all, I’m the kind of reader that does not give a lot of care to the cover and the title and the blurb hahaha. When I added the book in my TBR, I had not really read the blurb, so I don’t know what’s it all about. I only read the blurb when I’m about to read the book. When I saw the cover, well, Rock Chick you’re right about that. It’s cute! But not that enticing, you know what I mean? It’s so common to see a book cover with a pretty cover model in it. The title is also not that catchy
What can you say about the story? Did you enjoy it?
MidnightF: I loved it! Aside from the humor and the amazing story line, I also enjoyed the information about self publishing that was thrown in the story. There are misconceptions that self-publishing is easy and that those who self publish are not "real" authors but after reading Dearest Clementine I realized how difficult it was to get published, self pub or not.
RockChickF: High five, MidnightF! This book is totally refreshing. While I was recommending it to friends, I was throwing out the words " It'll give us a glimpse of how indie authors think and how their lives really are like". The story is fun, quirky, cute, mysterious at times, but ultimately very enjoyable.
MauveF: I have to agree with the two of you. I immensely enjoyed reading the book. It was fun, informative, sexy. Not too mysterious for me coz I’ve known from the start who’s the culprit behind Olivia’s disappearance. I love the romance! And I love the interactions between the characters.
Thoughts about the characters (in general):
MidnightF: Well, there are a lot of characters introduced in this book. I loved the main characters as well as the secondary characters. Despite the number of characters in this book, I didn't find it overwhelming. Also, almost all of the characters have interesting personalities that could give way to a new story line.
RockChickF: In general, they are all awesome!!! Personality wise, they are very well established. This gives me high expectations for the next books. The main characters are perfect for each other, but the secondary characters are not wallflowers! They participate and they most certainly make the story more colorful.
MauveF: As I’ve said in the previous post, I love the interactions between the characters. I love the friendship, the support, the banters. I also adore the way Clem had patched things up with Kade. She was the one who reached out first and I’m happy that they settled their differences.
Are there any part of the story you didn't like?
MidnightF: Hmmm, none that I could think of.
RockChickF: Nope. That's with a popping 'p' for emphasis. ;p
MauveF: Can’t think of one.
Will you recommend this book to your friends?
MidnightF: Absolutely! If you like romance novels with humor and a touch of mystery then this one is for you.
RockChickF: A MILLION TIMES YES!!! We should all read this!!!
MauveF: Of course I will. This kind of book needs to be read by many many readers.
Are you looking forward to read the next book?
MidnightF: Yes! Like I said, I find almost all characters in this book interesting, and I can't wait to know them more.
RockChickF: Of course yes!!! It's a must!
MauveF: Oh yes, I am looking forward for the next books. I can’t hardly wait!!
Your rating and why?
MidnightF: 5 Fairy Wings! I really enjoyed reading this book, I need the next one ASAP!
RockChickF: 5 fairy wings because this book is worthy of all praises!!!
MauveF: 5 Fairy Wings too!! If I can give it a ten, I will. But since 5 is the highest, then I have to be contented with that!!(less)
Paper Airplanes is my biggest surprise for the month of February. The title doesn't really give out anything. You don't know...moreA HIDDEN GEM OF A BOOK!!!
Paper Airplanes is my biggest surprise for the month of February. The title doesn't really give out anything. You don't know what you're getting... just that there will be a cute couple involved in it. I don't read blurbs nowadays, so I honestly didn't know what I would be getting with this book. It's a very lucky coincidence because I LOVE THE BOOK!!! This is a winner and by far my best for February.
First things first, you have to know that this novel is very "TIMELY". I don't know if I'm being unfair by giving out this biggest hint, but I REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO READ THIS, so here it is... The theme of this book is about how life goes on after people survive a shooting incident. I won't go into details, but yes... This books tackles that. I hope to God that I can capture your attention with just that.
The story revolves around two people who had fate indirectly bring them together. Jared, the ex-awkward-teen who hid from people because of a sordid past. is now a changed man. He grew up into a hot, seriously smart and broody guy. Then we have Cassie, the ex-cheerleader-slash-homecoming-queen. She went through a very traumatic thing and is trying to turn things around. Their paths collide and sparks start to fly.
It was very cute and endearing, the way these two reacted to each other. It's like a reverse of roles for the female and male gender. Cassie is more aggressive than Jared so it's just... so cute (for the lack of a better term, I'd risk redundancy.. So sue me lol). I was so glad for the alternate POV's. I wouldn't want to miss out on Jared's thoughts, or Cassie's for that matter. They were both just so intriguing. The dynamics between the geek and Ms. popular? PRICELESS.
At first, I thought I'd hate Cassie because she may turn around and be mean, but no... She was consistently nice and she really just wants to change everything. Jared on the other hand, is so insecure at first and just so sensitive. He was so rude to Cassie that I wanted to pull him out of the book and make him understand that Cassie is being nice to him! I understand his reservations though. His past speaks for himself. Anyway, he's a good guy and completely got over his preconceived thoughts about Cassie quickly. They made up and they battled everything together. This book has a really nice slice of life touch. I love the fact that they fight and then make up right away. It's just soooo cute. :)
I admit to feeling scared though, because of the gravity of what happened to them. I thought, oh hell.. maybe the best friend will die! However, no... the author is such a nice person that she didn't let anyone get killed in the end! haha I'm just plain morbid like that.
Everyone got their happy ending. Hmmm... speaking of the ending... It made me feel as if I'm still waiting for something. I wish there's a novella that will continue their love story. I wish Jared would just propose hahaha. That's actually what I'm just looking for. ^___^ LOL
The only bad thing that I noticed here is the lengthy explanations/internal monologues. I don't know if I would've loved the story more if they were shorter though. I just know that it felt tiring to read through all of them.
Anyway, all in all, I am giving this a book a five because of the originality and the various emotions that the author can evoke from me. I love laughing and crying with characters like they're real people and I'm just reading their real life story. THAT is exactly what happened to me while reading this book, so to me... it deserves all the praises.
First off, who can resist that cute, charming guy with a mysterious face on the cover? Tell me! Who?!

One author posted this on her timeline in facebook and I was just blown away. He's just so irresistible, looking at the keys like that! Mmmmm!
Anyway, onto the review...
The book was surprisingly short. Well, in the standards and not anyone else's. I didn't expect much after that since I usually don't tend to like short books. However, I was proved wrong by this book.
Sometimes, good things come in small packages, or in this case, good things come in a few pages. ❤
I'd like to say that I fell in love with the characters straight away, but alas, that wasn't what happened. I didn't like them right away because of the way they both left things when they separated. I thought that both characters gave up easily in the past. They obviously wanted to remedy that from the start of this book and that made me read on. I wanted to see just how far they would go to get back to each other. As it turns out, I chose right when I chose to read on.
The thing about getting-back together books is that they're all bitter sweet. You find out about the ugly things that happen to them in the past and you just want to bash both of their heads and lock them up inside a room to help them kiss and make up. That is exactly how I felt about Evan and Madison's story. I wanted them to get back together right away, but the author had other plans. She made me wait. I seriously hate waiting, but in this case? I'll let it pass. Not only was the guy such a sweet heart, he was also just so... determined. The pacing of the story felt just right.
"Words zoomed through my head, but I chose to stay silent. Instead, inch by slow inch, I bent down until our foreheads were touching. She didn’t move. Our mouths were a mere centimeter apart and I could feel her warm breath on mine, the sweet scent of minty gum intoxicating my senses along with the delicious smell of her shampoo. My heart was beating fast and my breath quickened. Maddy’s tongue peeked out, swiftly sweeping across her pouting lower lip. I wanted so bad to kiss her. I needed to kiss her. But Genna’s voice kept ringing in my ears. It was too soon. Damn, Gen for getting in my head. So as quickly as it began, I ended it. With a soft press of my lips to her temple, I finally said, “See you soon, Sunshine.” And I turned around and walked away. Only this time, I knew I would be coming back."
>>I love this scene because of the delicate way he treated Madison. He understood her reservations and planned to do it right this time... And oh man! He was darn successful! He had Madison with one song. I love how Madison also fought to forgive and understand Evan. She's such a nice girl that I totally wanted her to be happy.
They did you know... They had "that" happy ending and it was all good. :)
There weren't a lot of complications here. Maybe that's why I'm giving it a 4.5. I thought that Michael will stir up trouble, but no dice. He was just annoying at first.
All in all, this was such a great read! I am now convinced that I should be reading Ms. Prestsater's books. ^__^
Please remind me next time that when some hot guy pisses me off, I should stand my ground and piss him off too! Who knows, I might end up like little Bronagh here.
Yeah, with the guidance of my lucky fairy dust, I just might end up with my very own DOMINIC.
I was just plain blown away by this book. Blown away by the rough edges, the humorous fights (yes, fights) and the fact that even though this book contained more fighting than love scenes, I still find myself TOTALLY ENTERTAINED.
I guess I have to warn you first. This book is not intended for everybody. This is not for you if:
✘You don't like constant fights between the hero and heroine. ✘You are not a fan of tattoos. ✘You don't like mob books. ✘You didn't like Beautiful Disaster. Lady, if you didn't like my Travis, don't even get started with my Dominic. Leave this book alone. Sorry. Fair warning. ✘You don't like straight forward characters. ✘You don't like profanities. ✘You like Mary Sue characters. ✘You like frills and ribbons. ✘You like Anne of Green Gables. ✘You don't approve of harems. Not that anyone has a harem here, it just seems that way. lol ✘You don't like violence. This is my concern about this book. It could come off as a full-of-violence book in someone's point of view. The fighting, the bickering... it could come out as just that. Violent. However, if you get past that, you're golden because underneath all the fighting and bickering, there's depth and where there's depth, there's always a lesson to be learned. :)
Onto the review proper...
Bronagh - She's an Irish girl with a very strong personality. She shuts the whole world out, except for her sister. I think she doesn't know that she's pretty, but based on everyone else's opinion in the book, she IS pretty. Oh, and she has a generous behind. You'll find that this is being emphasized with the book. The funny thing is, I can sort of sympathize with her big-behind problem since I also have one. >.< I was called Tinkerbell for a reason. Short with a fat behind. What I love about her is that she's a very CONSISTENT character. She's not the angry girl on the outside, scared on the inside. She's more like I'M ANGRY WHEN I'M ANGRY girl. I love it because she's no fake. She just lets herself and the people around her be.
DOMINIC - Well what can I say? Typical guy with lots of money, lots of brothers and a healthy ego. He was described as a really hot 18 year old with tattoos and hot muscles. He's funny enough and he has really nice dimples!
It's tricky to describe this guy without him sounding so violent. Let's just say that he's the jealous type... like really jealous type. You watched Travis fight for his pigeon right? Triple that and you get Dominic. Bronagh better not screw up! haha.
THE OTHER CHARACTERS - LOOKING FORWARD TO THEIR OWN STORIES! They sure are vital to this book. They gave more color to the two main characters. Especially Damien and Branna.
That's one word to describe it. I thought that this book is just about a bad boy who meets bad girl. They clash, end of story. NO. IT MOST DEFINITELY ISN'T THAT SIMPLE.
Here's the deal... Yes, I was right, it's about a bad boy who meets his match in a hard-as-nails girl, however, it's also about the lives they lead. For Bronagh, it's about finally coming out of your comfort zone and for Dominic, it's about breaking free.
Dominic and Bronagh have the same circumstance. They both lost their parents in horrible ways. Funny enough, this circumstance led them to each other. Bronagh being the ice princess who wouldn't just crack because she learned to freeze people out to make sure they don't get to close that she'll be hurt when they leave, and Dominic fighting (literally and figuratively) for what remained of his family.
Bronagh learned to live with just her sister while Dominic learned to live with his 5 brothers. Their paths collide and suddenly... it wasn't so bad anymore. :)
The story is hot, enticing and hook-worthy!
I swear that I didn't see A LOT of things here coming, so I was also shell shocked. I know you would be too! :) I hope this makes you interested some more!!! COME ON READDDD THIIISSS!
THE CLASH --> WILL MAKE YOU READ IT!!!
It was amusing and a little exhausting, reading about Bronagh's and Dominic's fights. They were constantly at it! I was amazing, how they hold very weird conversations that lead to flying shoes, dishes etc. You'd also admire both of their witty and really quick comebacks. Seriously. They were like the bane of each others' existence... for Bronagh that is. Secretly, Dominic has had a thing for her from the start that she didn't really see coming. Even I wouldn't see it right away if I were in Bonagh's place (which I wish... loooll). Classic I-want-your-attention-so-I'll-be-pissing-you-off!!
When they were already together, I thought all fights would stop.. but NOOOO, they really like their mind games / insult games... and most of the time, they end up kissing so forget the fight peeps! haha!
You must look forward to the ending! It promises good things for the next book. The twist came to me in the middle of reading this, I wasn't so sure, but I'm sort of glad that I'm right. I was worried about a certain character here, and THAT ENDING just made it all better for him.
*it's hard to review without spoilers* haha! whew
ALL IN ALL... THIS BOOK IS NOT WHAT I ENVISIONED IT TO BE. IT'S WAY BETTER, WHICH IS A REALLY GOOD THING!!! ^_^
I thought it was very straight forward. The title of the series though, I didn't know that it was a town, so that was a surprise. :)
I think the title is very much fitting with the story. That’s how Jake and Josie’s love story started. I didn’t know that this is a series though. I thought this is a standalone. But after I read this, I’m glad that there are more books that will follow though I’m not sure whose story is next. I’m not yet ready to let go of this. I want to read more!
What about the cover?
Rock Chick Fairy
To be very honest, I thought the cover was boring. Sorry. :(
I love the color purple! I’m obsessed with it. So when I saw the cover, I thought that it’s beautiful. Though, I didn’t know that the lavender has a significant meaning in the story.
What is unique about the main characters in THE WILL?
Rock Chick Fairy
Josephine is so unique because she speaks like she's from another era. I can't say any more than that, but I believe that's enough. ;)
Jake is also very unique because for one, he isn't the picture-perfect guy. Usually, in KA books, guys are already ready-made for the heroine. He's already hot, nice and rich (or getting there). However, this book shows Jake's struggle to get where he is. It's pretty refreshing.
Josie is exceptional because she’s so classy and yet a bad ass at the same time. She can kick ass but in a sophisticated way. She had some misfortunes when she was young but was not tainted by it. She grew up to be the perfect lady, able to stand up for herself, made friends with some famous people and was able to experience the finer things in life because of her job. She still has some flaws but was able to cope and be done with her solitude in the end.
Jake is special because I think he’s a great father. He’s the perfect alpha male for me though what make him perfect are his imperfections. He’s not the usual hero that KA has in her previous books. Jake is confident and at the same time not so self-assured (well he does not want to meet Josie in the first place).
Kristen Ashley is known to have hot, alpha males for heroes. In line with this, just how hot is JAKE? Rate him! 10 being the highest.
Rock Chick Fairy
To me, he's a 9. Hot daddy-o! Truly trrruuullyy hoott!!!
A perfect 10 for me. KA’s heroes are all hot! Jake is justly H-O-T! A hot fighter, hot boyfriend and hot dad!
Now that we have established that we love the hero, which part of this book made you love the heroine?
Rock Chick Fairy
At first, I was iffy about her character because she's so proper. I imagined her as a very proper woman whose body is like a model's and kinda has that uppity vibe that I hate on television. However, little by little, she opened up and I adore her. I can't explain it, but I really loved her when she gave that make up advice to Amber. She was very... diplomatic. It was so adorable and very admirable! She could be so serious and then I'd just laugh! haha!
I fell in love with Josie because she’s so self assured, she can hold her own. She’s not afraid to impart what she thinks. She’s so fashionable. She claims not to have experience in dealing with kids and yet she was able to handle Jake’s children. She’s not the jealous type. Even at forty five, she’s attractive, proof that many men fall to her charm. She’s kind hearted though she distances herself to people. And what gets me is her use of words. Irksome, facilities and vex LMAO
Rock Chick Fairy
Oh! I also love that she doesn't get jealous! There's this one scene wherein Jake's ex talked to her and she was like "My God, you really are okay with me talking to Jake". It was awesome!
Jake already has a family prior to having Josephine. Didn't you find this to be awkward, even a little?
Rock Chick Fairy
I will not be a hypocrite and say that I was totally down with that. I was thrown off the kilter by Josephine's and Jake's age plus him having a ready-made family. It gradually grew on me because seriously, the "children" are so nice and fun! I can't imagine this story being without them.
Not at all. I loved Jake’s children especially Ethan. That boy is seriously adorable!
Who's your favorite OTHER character?
Rock Chick Fairy
CONNER. Maaannn, I want a book for him! PLEASE MAKE A BOOK FOR HIM MISS ASHLEY PLEASE PLEASE PREEETTYY PLEASE!!!! haha oh my, based on this book, Con is a hot stud! Albeit, young... but still.. HOT! His love life is also soooo very interesting. Gosh, I kinda felt as if I was following two main heroes. Con and his dad!
I will have to say Ethan. That boy is just begging to be loved by a mother. When he threw himself at Josie the first time they met, I knew then that he gives his love freely. He is so lovable and endearing. And though he grew up not having a mother around, he’s respectful and helpful and just plain delightful.
I love Conner too. Really intrigued on his lovelife and if he’s still a virgin hahaha
Who's your MOST HATED other character?
Rock Chick Fairy
MIA. B***h! I swear I was having Nan flashbacks! (from Abbi Glines' books). Her character is a very effective
I guess its Terry. That woman just pisses me big time!
Who wants a grandma like Josie's?
Rock Chick Fairy
OF COURSE, ME!!!! Who wouldn't want a grandma who prepares everything for you, including your MAN-TO-BE??
I think everyone would want a grandmother like Lydie. She’s the best grandmother!
Rock Chick Fairy
You got that right!
How was the plot for you? Was it too much or was it just right?
Rock Chick Fairy
A lot of my friends say that KA's stories are intense and a bit over the top. I never saw them that way. The plot here is just right for me, as in all books that I love from KA. A grandmother wishing everything for her grand daughter and doing everything in her power to make that happen? Now what's over the top in that? If any, it's just darn sweet. :)
As always KA’s storyline is perfect. She can weave such an amazing story. She can make her readers fall in love with her characters and hate the villains. I even felt sad for Henry and that goodbye scene made me cry.
Rock Chick Fairy
You know, I felt really bad for Henry too. Unrequited love it just.... sad. :( But then, when I think of the time he spent having Josie with him and not doing anything direct about it... I'd say it's his fault for not doing a concrete thing to make himself understood by Josie. Partially, it's still his fault. This is a case of "may-the-fastest-man-win". ;p
How did Jake and Joesphine's love story make you feel?
Rock Chick Fairy
It made me feel like I didn't want to work anymore that day. I wanted to laze around, re-read the book and laze around some more! IT'S THAT GOOD. Honestly, I always feel this way when I read KA's works. I am personally making a spell for this feeling to stay.
Jake and Josie’s love story is so profound that you would wish something similar will or is happening to you. Who knows that after so many years, Jake will have the girl he’s longing for? Of course with some intervention from Lydie. But then Josie resisted at first, and it’s Jake who worked hard so Josie would take notice of him.
