THIS IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE BEST READS OF MY 2015. I knew from the start that this was going to be special and it doesn't disappoint. It exceeded all of my expectations. One person asked me 4 years ago about how I could get attached to characters. I answered him, "I just do." Now I'm changing my answer. I get attached to characters when they touch my heart and soul. I can't explain how though. I just know when it does. THIS BOOK PERFECTLY EXECUTES THAT. I felt what they felt in the book, I cried when they were crying. I was so happy for them when they were also happy. This book is a spectacular example of why I love reading. It is why I continue looking for new books. It's worth every emotion. I love it. I LOVE IT!!!
I salute all soldiers, active or not. Most especially, I salute the people who wait for them. The people who puts them back together again when everything else falls.
Alright so I guess I should tell you a little bit about the book, eh?
Let's get on with that.
Whoever said love is sweeter the second time around, clearly haven't met this power couple.
Katie and Devin sure had a second chance. They took it with all they had, grasped it tight and never intended to let go again. That kind of second chance isn't sweet... It's fierce, it's lovely, it's bone-deep and it's something out of this world.
Katie and Devin... They aren't your everyday romance couple. They're built to last.
You see, they were once THAT couple. They were best friends, then that friendship grew into something more. Everyone saw it. However, one sad thing happened and they lost touch. Their relationship? Poof, gone. Just like that. So you'd understand if Katie bore a grudge on Devin. It was inevitable. After all, she was left with no answers.
Thank you... Just.. Thank you authors. You got yourself a crying fangirl here. I'm crying frakkin rainbow tears if tears are gauged by how happy the person is.
To the people who haven't read this yet.. Get ready for this. It's one heck of a sweet ride!
Yep! I already expected that I'll love this book because hey, this author never disappoints. I just never expectedSUZANNE WRIGHT has done it again!!!
Yep! I already expected that I'll love this book because hey, this author never disappoints. I just never expected that I would love the main character this much!
Okay so a little background.. Taryn is my ultimate badass character, followed by Roni in the previous book... but now?? NOW?? Right now I think the second spot has just been claimed by none other than the peaceful girl named Ally. I say peaceful not because she's quiet and meek BECAUSE SHE'S NOT.. I'm saying that because she's at peace with her wolf. You'll see in the book just how important this is.
So yeah, I love Ally and her quirks. She's somewhat a mixture of class and badass. She's very attuned to her wolf side, so there's not problem in that regard. The problem here is how other people treat her just because of her being a seer. I mean, can't y'all just be thankful that she can see when you'll be dead and maybe warn y'all about it?? That's her life. She's always too afraid of not seeing something that will happen. Plus, she's been ostracized by her "pack". Well good riddance! It's so awesome that Derren's pack, the Mercury pack comes to her aid, albeit not willingly at first.
Derren.. How do I explain him? He's more than just your broody alpha male character (well, he's a beta, but he's still an alpha if you know what I mean). He's a loyal friend, a good protector and an awesome beta to Nick and Shaya. There's just one big problem in his life... He's in need of vindication. He needs it so bad that he's almost always in a supremely bad mood. When Ally gets entrusted to him by an old friend, he immediately jumps to a bad conclusion about her. Don't let this bother you because the events that follow will erase your notion that he's anything but a sweetheart. :)
The plot takes on a different level with new characters introduced and pack wars not being limited to just wolves only. The relationship of the main characters also take on a slow burn because of the animosity towards seers and the distrust that Derren has. Ally is also not so keen with trusting her feelings for someone because of what happened to her previous pack. I think readers like me should look forward to that. How would Ally and Derren be able to trust one another when it's obviously such a big barrier between them. Look forward to that and many, many sizzling scenes! :) Hah! Feast your eyes!
I would also like to thank the author for letting me have a glimpse of how the past characters are. I love seeing Taryn and her son. It's a blessing that they're somewhat an extended pack. I get to see all of them! ^_^
This book also has action. If you're used to reading SW's books, then you'll say that this isn't such a shocker. She's very good at creating those kinds of scenes as well as hilarious ones! I swear! ;)
All in all, I think this one's perfect. I love the mixture of Romance, mystery, action and fun in this book. Read this if you like your werewolves hot, sweet and totally entertaining!

Gosh4.5 This book is a clash between the fairy tale world and that of an RPG world. What do you do when the things you never believed in came to life? Gosh! Prepare for the adventure!
Emma didn't believe. She was a logical girl. She always had an explanation for everything. If you ask me, her attitude is that of a late teenager than that of a kid. Her view of life is kind of advanced. She's a very observant girl. I love that about her. She's also a good daughter, a very dutiful sister and a concerned friend. She's always thinking of other people. She doesn't even want to change her dress because of the person who gave it to her. She's a good kid really.
Her story revolves around a story that is feared by many. It's like the dark side of a fairy tale. She doesn't believe in it of course, but fate decides when to turn her into a believer. What happened to her... it's scary. It's traumatic. However, she stood strong. She did cry, but not as much as I expected her to. I imagined myself in her place and it wasn't pretty. She did better and she ended the nightmare all on her own.
It isn't over yet.
That's what you have to look forward to. How does she end it?
Her family is awesome all throughout. I love Mom and Nan. They're truly amazing. I don't know what would happen to this story without them.
This story is a scary, mysterious story of magic. Just how dark can magic go?
I want to have sequel for this. Emma deserves it. :) ...more

Wow this book is such a revelation!
I'm a big fan of the first book, Prophet of the Badlands, so because of that, I had high expectations for this book. I'm happy to report though, that my expectations were surpassed!
Whoo.. Okay.. So I think I should begin with the review...
This book had a really slow start for my taste. It detailed the sufferings of our main character, Anna. She was in a perpetual state of doom and gloom in the first part of this book. She has powers, but she doesn't use them for a reason. She's terrified. Completely terrified of what she can do and what it did to someone she knows. She has friends, sure, but she's all closed off about her past that they don't even know half of it.
It was certainly a hard life for her...
Until she snaps.
All I can say about that "snap" is that she's definitely one of a kind. She's... ELECTRIC! Gosh! I can't even begin describing what she could do to you! It's badass!
She goes through so many complications after that, but she continues on being the poweful self that she trul is. Honestly, that's way better than the gloom and doom. Without so many friends, she finds an ally on a very unusual doctor. In a way, I'm glad because she found a person who will take care of her in times of great need.
This book is so full of twists that I almost fell of my chair with the ending. I don't want to give out spoilers, but I just have to say this: Be careful with who you trust. That's all.
Action, adventure and mystery packed! This book beats the odds! Well, Anna did! Such a fighter! You'll love her!
Ever felt as if a book is too good to only be in print? Like it needs to have a bigger stage.. Saaayy.. a movie??!! It's like that with STILTSKIN!!!!
OhEver felt as if a book is too good to only be in print? Like it needs to have a bigger stage.. Saaayy.. a movie??!! It's like that with STILTSKIN!!!!
Oh gosh, it's a whirlwind of adventure!! I'm so proud to say that I read this book!
Alright, first things first..
The characters.. There are many of them here, but only a few that you'd understand right off the bat. A lot of them are complex and some of them, I only got to understand in the end. I would say that these characters are portrayed uniquely and are introduced very much in detail. I swear the author has a knack for introducing characters in the most interesting way possible! He gives them a grand entrance, in my opinion, that you have no choice but be intrigued!
So.. Characters? BIG CHECK! Protagonists or antagonists.. He nailed them! Wooot!!
I have two favorite characters, The "CAT" who's all wise and very entertaining and Veszico, my hotheaded and tinier fictional self. Haha! So there! It's all cool! They're both cool! :)
No as for the story it self... Of course, you probably already know that this is all about the fairy tale world, but it's not depicted as that. It's way different! Plus, you get to see many of these fairy tale characters in a different light!
Just to give you a bit of information regarding the story... It all revolves around one guy who never fit in the normal world. He's an odd one and many, many weird things have been happening to him over the years that they all seem familiar to him now. I found him to be a sad sort of individual at first, but as it turns out, he has a colorful past.. one with a rabbits, dwarfs, wolves, magic and endless mysteries. He has a chance to venture there now and he takes it! He gets to meet a lot of um.. people.. and umm.. creatures. He also gets to travel from one umm.. place to many others. It's all so interesting!
That's what you get here. No boring moments! Even the characters' banters are well worth your time! I had a good time laughing my ass off with most of their lines! :)
As a big fan of fairy tale remakes (trust me, I've read many of them!), I can tell you that this one is damn good! One would say that the author took a risky move in depicting many characters in a very outlandish way, but I call it brave! To me, that risk also paid off because I love what happened here. It's enjoyable, entertaining and full of surprises!
All in all.. I would gladly give this a perfect 5!
I can't wait for the next one!!! ^_____^
