Well, it was worth every freaking second of wait. This book was simply phenomenal. Two things – first: You really need to read First Touch before this book. You will be totally lost if you don’t. Second: I don’t do spoilers so I am going to try my best to deliver this review without ruining even the tiniest detail for you! I was left with a pit in my stomach after finishing First Touch and was so worried for the situation Emily and Reeve were in. Every time I thought about it I got anxious. Even months later after finishing the book. There was so much with this couple that I just loved and I wanted nothing but a happy ending for them. Luckily this book picks up right were book one left off and I dove right in. Emily and Reeve are beyond intense and delve into some dark moments in their journey but they brought out feelings in my that I can’t say I’ve ever felt for two fictional characters before. It’s a rollercoaster of ups and downs, highs and lows, good and bad and I ate it up like a decadent dessert. There were so many elements to their story…suspicions, betrayal, high emotions, suspense, and mystery. Last Touch was decidedly more emotional than First Kiss and it was fitting in a way that made so much sense. All of these highs and lows lead to the beauty of truth, love, and the peace that comes with it. And of course, the heat and chemistry between them is done so damn well and is so deliciously sublime. As I sit here and try to type out just how amazing this First and Last reading journey had been, I find as though I’m at loss. It’s truly something you just have to experience for yourself and I can guarantee it will be unlike anything you’ve ever read. Yes, it’s THAT good. Laurelin Paige is a freaking master and I seriously bow down to her ability to pull emotions and feelings out of this sometimes jaded reader. It’s when books like this come along that I get a slap back into the reality of just how amazing the escapes of reading can be. Thank you, Ms. Paige, for one hell of a ride!...more

You know, I always get a little nervous excitToo Hot to Handle is the first book in a new series by one of my fave authors of all time: Tessa Bailey. You know, I always get a little nervous excitement when an author I love starts a new series. I mean, what if the dynamic between the characters that I’ve grown to love over other series isn’t the same or what if the chemistry between the hero and heroine isn’t as hot an all-consuming? I now know that I should never worry about that when it come to Tessa Bailey. This book was freaking amazing and kicks off a series I am already dying for more of. Since you can get a synopsis of what this book is all about above, I’ll dive right into what I loved about this story… First off, I’m the oldest of four and I certainly know my fair share of sibling dysfunction, and we are all considered close by sibling standards. But sometimes time and life and feelings get in the way and you end up not really knowing the people you shared life and a home with for too many years to count. On that level alone I connected deeply with this story. But going beyond that, I loved the two main characters in this book: Rita and Jasper. Two strangers almost destined to meet. Each running away from their pasts and looking for a new start, but not really knowing how to get one, or even if they deserve it. They are both at a crossroads: Jasper looking to shed his reputation as a ladies man and aiming to be a serious business owner and Rita looking to just find direction in her life, whether it be in the kitchen doing what she’s trained to do or finding something entirely different. Both of them just want to be happy and content and at peace for once. Comfortable in their own skin, if you will. Fate really knew what she was doing when she put these two on a collision course and I couldn’t have loved their story any more if I tried. From start to finish their relationship is a journey of self discovery and learning how amazing the connection they’ve found is. Oh, there are stumbles along the way, but it just reinforced how amazing they are together. When one of them stumbles, the other person is there to pick them up, wipe off the dirt, and start again. Truly, they are an amazing couple. Now, onto the rest of the Clarkson crew. I can’t get enough! They’re all different colors making up the same rainbow and each painted with their own shade of screwed up and I am in love with each one of them. As I said earlier, this is a series I am DYING for more of! I also have to give mention of how amazing Miriam, the Clarkson sibling’s mother, is. She may not be with them in the physical sense any longer, but her journal and the thoughts she shares with all of them had me sobbing like a complete loon and I loved it. The legacy and gift she is leaving with them is incredible (and yes, I’m crying again just thinking about it). Just when I think I know Tessa’s writing style like the back of my hand she goes and switches things up a bit and it makes me appreciate her stellar writing skill that much more. Make no mistake, her signature heat and dirty talk is still there but there’s a different feel to this book that I just loved. It’s like with each new series she dreams up, there’s an individual feel and I am blown away anew. Thank you, Tessa, for this amazing kick-off to another must read series of mine! ...more

Well, I have now gone into full-blown stalker mode and am tweeting all things Mister O like a crazy person and will be shouting my love for this book from all available rooftops. I freaking LOVED this book. .
Ok...I will try not to just blabber on and on and I promise I will try to make coherent sentences while writing this review...wish me luck!
. I love a good friends to lovers story. I especially love a best-friend's-little-sister-off-limits friends to lovers story. But even more than that I love a hidden-crush-best-friend's-little-sister-off-limits friends to lovers story. And that's exactly what this story was. But I can't even put this book into a regular hidden-crush-best-friend's-little-sister-off-limits friends to lovers story category. Why? Because this book was so well written and these two characters were so damn amazing and the sex was so off the charts hot that this book really belongs in a category of its own. I mean it was just SO MANY THINGS! Ok, I'm getting it together here, I swear... .
To start, it's from a female-worshipping-male's POV, which when done well, I adore. And it's safe to say, this POV was done brilliantly. Nick Hammer is funny, sexy, quirky, dirty, respectful, and delicious. His inner dialog was incredible. I alternated between laughing and sighing dreamily. He's a man's man throughout with a nerdy side that had me swooning. I seriously loved everything about him. And when it comes to his infatuation with Harper, the hidden-crush-best-friend's-little-sister, she is just as spectacular and a match for Nick in every way. She's less experienced than Nick when it comes to matters of the opposite sex which leads them onto a "friendly" sexual tutoring mission and holy HELL, it's starts off insanely hot and heavy and only gets hotter as the lessons progress. I'll tell you what, I give these two an A+ in both physical and emotional chemistry. Of course, things get way deeper than just the physical level and when feelings start to emerge and life throws a curveball to these two, I was a nervous wreck. But not to worry...Ms. Blakely not only gave a great physical connection to Nick and Harper, but she also gave them common sense and a whole lot of chutzpah so when they were faced with the "what now?" scenario, they did what I know we all wanted them to do. I was crying and laughing and swooning all at the same time when their story reached its end. (and the end's end...because with two epilogues I was in my book-loving glory!) .
So, if you've stuck around to this point and have put up with my blathering, bless you, and now I send you off to go pick up your very own copy os Mister O...because if you haven't guessed, I LOVED THIS BOOK!
. Thank you, Ms. Blakely, for Mister O and Princess Awkward!...more

I am a ridiculouslyZ is the newest addition to author Larissa Ione’s Demonica Underworld as well as the latest in the 1,001 Dark Nights 2016 lineup. I am a ridiculously huge fan of Ms. Ione’s writing. I always swoon over a chance to visit with my fave underworlders and I can say that this was another amazing addition!
In Vex’s search for a way to rid herself of her latest batch of evil souls dwelling inside of her, she never expected to find a fallen angel certain she was his long-lost mate…well, holding his long-lost mate to be exact. Inside of her. Yeah, talk about a bit of a hiccup in her plan to meet up with the Grim Reaper himself in her rid-herself-of-the-evil-souls mission. Funny how things work out though because while Vex didn’t really believe she was carrying this fallen angel’s mate, she couldn’t deny this unexplained connection she felt to him. Stranger things have happened when it came to the underworld but could there be some truth to what he was saying? Could they be fated to be together again after all these years apart? If they were, she wouldn’t complain…he was hot, after all.
Here’s the thing with Larissa Ione’s Demonica series: I freaking adore everything about it. She writes complex stories that aren’t hard to follow and aren’t overwhelming. You can pick up one of her books at any point in any of her series and not be lost. To me, that is a talent and a gift. Z was no exception. There was so much to love about this novella. With Ms. Ione’s signature strong, witty heroines and the heroes capable of meeting them at every turn and loving them for who they are, this story is a total win from start to finish. I loved Vex. Her personality jumped off of the pages and had me admiring her strength and wit. Z is a beautiful match for her. He’s loyal and has a heart bigger than the moon. Their similarities were few but their differences really made their relationship shine. Where Vex is willing to bend the rules, Z is steadfast in sticking to them. Where Vex is unbelieving of her connection to Z, he is unwavering in his faith that she is his lost love. But my favorite thing is when we learn that Z is very inexperienced compared to Vex’s more experienced past when it comes to being intimate…and if that didn’t just make me love him more!
But all of this is yet another gift Ms. Ione gives us…complex, vulnerable, multi-faceted characters that evoke so much feeling while reading you can’t help but experience a wonderful range of emotion. Whether you’re already a fan of Ms. Ione, or this is the first of her works you pick up, I guarantee you will love this story!...more

Once again, this was no exception and from start to finish I loved everything about it.
Since you can read what the story is about in the synopsis, I’m going to skip that and go into my feelings on Vaughn and River’s story. Oh, the feelings…
I know I can count on Tessa for interesting, strong heroines with a soft side for their men and a love for his alpha side. When I pick up a Tessa book I know I can count on dirty talking heroes with an all-consuming need for their women. It’s always highly emotional, raw, sexy, dirty, and oh-so-delicious. What I finally figured out while reading Thrown Down is what, beyond that, makes me love Tessa’s characters so damn much….it’s the moments.
There are may be a handful of moments that stand out in the sea of books I’ve read. When you read as much as I do, things muddle together in your brain but you can always recall certain moments you know you’ll never forget. I’ve added one more to my collection while reading this book: when Vaughn met his daughter. I’m not really sure I can adequately put into words just how touching it was. Written out in such an emotional and raw way with time almost coming to a stop. I could feel what Vaughn was feeling at that very moment and it was something so special I had to take a deep breath after reading it. But that’s what Tessa does. She gives us these incredible moments in each book, that when you pair it with her gritty men, multifaceted women, and off the charts heat, always adds up to a combination not many can match.
Not only the big moments are the special ones, though. There are little things in each story that just kill me (in a good way, of course!). In Thrown Down it was Vaughn and River each counting how long it’s been since he left, changing the symbolism of the motel room they once shared, a picture he kept of her….and so many more I can’t say because I don’t want to ruin anything. I know I’ve said it before, but truly, this book lands in my top five of Tessa. Possibly second place right behind Exposed by Fate, which will never be able to be knocked out of first place ;-)
Whether you’re already a Tess fan or this is the first of her books you pick up, I know you will love Vaughn and River’s story. Thank you, Tessa, for another amazing read and for more indelible moments. ...more
Gah! How to even write this review without ruining things! Ok, let’s give this a shot… First off, I am SO excited we get to visit with my favorite dysfGah! How to even write this review without ruining things! Ok, let’s give this a shot… First off, I am SO excited we get to visit with my favorite dysfunctional small town! This group has really become to mean something to me and with so much turmoil going on, I was so anxious for this mid-season episode. I can say it was just as awesome as I wanted it to be. My heart is breaking for Ginny now that she has to pick up the pieces after her sister made the announcement heard round the world (well, just Storm really, but you get the drift.) If there ever was a character deserving of some kind of happy ending, it’s her. Logan is also breaking my heart and the drama within the Rush family is hitting a breaking point. Seriously, if this town were real and I lived there, I would no doubt be hanging out in the town square just waiting for some kind of drama! But, by far what I loved the most about this episode is what Ms. Blake brings to the table with her writing. That woman could write me her grocery list and I would love it. She’s truly a talent and as always, this story was a testament to that. Luckily we won’t have to wait long for the second mid-season episode because I am dying for more! Thank you, Ms. Blake, for another awesome installment of Rising Storm!...more

Each authoOk, so I’ll admit when I read that 13 individual authors were writing one story, I was a tad nervous. I mean how could they make that work? Each author has their own voice and puts their individual flavor into their characters, so how could 13 people write two main characters and two secondary characters? Well, I’m not sure of the how but I can tell you they freaking nailed it! This book was so damn good and the characters were amazing. I loved it all from start to finish and I’m so sad I’ve already finished it. This group of authors, many I’ve read and am a huge fan of, created a hero and heroine I just adore. Hudson is such a dichotomy and the layers that make up his being are complex and amazing. Sure he’s hot, sexy, tattooed, and charming but he’s also got a huge heart and a hidden side I swooned over. The authors did an amazing job at revealing what makes Hudson Hudson. We were introduced to so much but kept in the dark about a few key parts of his life and I loved the pace in which we get to find out what makes him tick. SO good! Verity is equally fabulous. She’s funny as hell and is also wonderfully multifaceted. I loved her relationship with her friend and co-worker and her insane work situation. She had me laughing too many times to count and I loved it. Together these two are off the charts smoking hot. But where they really shine is in the quiet and tender moments. When they’re getting to know each other. Those times are both sweet and at times funny but make up a twenty-first century fairy tale like nothing I’ve ever read. The extra added touch was the twitter convo between Verity and Hudson that end each chapter. I loved it so much and it totally gave this book and extra oomph that made it even more special. But the best part about that? Getting to the end of the book and seeing that I can actually follow them on Twitter and enjoy more interactions even after finishing the book! So amazing and so much fun! From beginning to end this was a unique and enjoyable reading experience. The collaboration went off without a hitch and I highly recommend this book to any romance fan! Thank you, ladies, for one hell of a read!...more
Wicked Sexy Liar is the fourth book in the Wild Seasons series by the dynamic duo of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, two writers I am a HUGE fanWicked Sexy Liar is the fourth book in the Wild Seasons series by the dynamic duo of Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings, two writers I am a HUGE fan of. Luke and London’s story was another testament to how amazing I find their characters and their writing. I loved everything about this book from start to finish and was, as always, so sad to have finished it. Luke and London travel in the same friend circle. London is new to the crew while Luke, on the other hand, has quite a bit of history with them…and by that I mean he had pretty much spent his entire youth in love with one of the gals in their group. Not a big deal, per se, since time has gone by and he has somewhat moved on. The normal progression of life and growing up and all that jazz. All was going well until things get a bit hot and heavy between Luke and London. What started out as a deal for a one night sort of thing starts to get serious which wouldn’t be so terrible if London had known Luke’s love life history and who it was with. Suddenly Luke goes from being a potential friends-with-benefits-turned-more into way off-limits. The problem was, both Luke and London had started to develop some pretty intense feelings for each other and it wasn’t going to be an easy task to stay away from each other. Now Luke just had to convince London to give him, and what they’ve found, a chance… Now comes the challenge I run into when I review any Christina Lauren book…not just repeating “buy this book” a hundred times! There is just so much to love about Luke and London. I think the thing I loved most about both of them is how vulnerable they are under their exteriors. Luke is used to keeping things pretty light after his heart was broken. He uses woman for pleasure and has been ok with it up until now. Enter London. She’s also had her heart-broken but instead of going the route Luke did, she’s been avoiding men at the risk of another round of hurt. I couldn’t fault either of them for the way they dealt with that kind of heartache. I wanted them to get a happy ever after so terribly! I loved them together and I loved Luke’s fight for London. He was so kind and gentle with her. He saw right to the heart of her and he had me swooning more times than I can count! He is, hands down, one of my favorite book guys for how damn sweet he is. It only added to his sexiness. Christina and Lauren have such a gift in how they write their characters. Truly. From Luke’s stories of his childhood with his sister, London’s guarded emotions, the nicknames Luke calls London, the quirky dinner with Luke and his family, Luke and London’s babysitting evening to his aversion to eating two pop tarts at a time…few people can give so much depth to the people in the pages as they do. I am always in awe when I dive into one of their books. Thank you Christina and Lauren for once again writing an amazing story…and for once again giving me a book hangover. (Oh, and I’m totally skipping right over the fact that this in the last book in the series. It’s ok though because I will always look forward to what’s next from these authors.) Oh! And I have to note that I’ve been listening to Ra Ra Riot’s song “Water” on freaking repeat because it reminds me so much of Luke and London and their story and I can’t get enough!!...more

After reading the first book and falling in love with these charAn Ounce of Hope is the second book in author Sophie Jackson’s Pound of Flesh series. After reading the first book and falling in love with these characters, I was so excited for Max’s story and thrilled to have received an early copy. Filled with emotion, angst, and turmoil, this was another fantastic addition to the series.
Max and Grace are both some seriously damaged characters. They are both hurting and trying to overcome some pretty large personal obstacles. They both truly deserve a chance at a normal and happy life. A life without loss and hurt. A life they are both working extremely hard to achieve.
My heart broke for both of these characters. I felt awful for the loss Max had endured in his young life. I understood his downward spiral into drugs and why he had such a big chip on his shoulder. I also knew he was worthy of redemption and admired his tenacity at gaining it. I felt equally awful for Grace when we finally learned the why’s and how’s of where she was today. She had truly gone though hell and back and was on the road to putting the pieces of her new life together. Together, they form an unlikely but special bond and friendship that grows into something beautiful and real.
While there were many struggles between these two, it was a journey I really enjoyed reading. In that reading, I experienced many emotions; ranging from sadness, to anger, ad then ultimately to happiness. In addition to the heavy moments there were also light and fun times that added a wonderful layer to Max and Grace’s story. I chuckled more than a few times at their playful banter as they started to open up to each other. It was wonderful to see that side of these two. Oh, and the chemistry? Off the charts smoking hot. It's a slow delicious build into scorching heat that I just loved. And of course, getting to see glimpses of Carter and Kat was sublime!
I have to mention I’m really hoping Tate gets his own story…I love him!
Thank you, Ms. Jackson, for another wonderful installment in the Pound of Flesh series. I cannot wait to see what’s next for this group!...more
What You Need is the first in a new series from author Lorelei James. Being a big fan of Ms. James, I was thrilled to get an early copy of this book aWhat You Need is the first in a new series from author Lorelei James. Being a big fan of Ms. James, I was thrilled to get an early copy of this book and I can tell you right now…this is gearing up to be one of my fave series, just by this first book alone. I loved it. Now, I don’t want you to think that this is a typical billionaire-meets-sassy-secretary-and-falls-in-love story. While it is similar in that sense, it’s probably where every similarity ends. This story gives that trope a breath of fresh air! There is so much about this book that makes it stand out. I could just sit here with a goofy grin on my face thinking about how much I adored it…but that surely won’t help get this review written! Ok, so yes, Brady Lund is the CFO of a huge company. He’s a workaholic in every sense of the word. He’s gorgeous and has a killer body. What he doesn’t have? Tons of confidence when it comes to dating and women. He is a little on the nerdy side, being the financial guy that he is, and he worked his tush off to get to where he is today. That, unfortunately, hasn’t left him with much of a social life. But now, partly because of some meddling brothers and cousins and partly because of the feisty blonde who works in the “floater” department in his company, all that is about to change. It’s as if fate put all her ducks in a row and just sat back to watch it all unfold. Lennox is just what Brady needed in his life and at just the right time. She’s opposite him in a lot of ways, but also the same in many. She’s had a pretty rough childhood but instead of being bitter, she’s learned from life’s lessons and decided to work hard to get to where she wants to be in life. I really admired her tenacity, values and loyalty. She’s one of a kind and in a world of people using him to get into the upper echelon of society one way or another, it’s a rarity Brady knows is special. I loved them together. Lennox is funny and sweet with a spice to her that I adored. At one point she says she “never played the shrinking violet well” and no phrase could have been more true about her. She is kind and caring but will be damned if anyone will take advantage of her or make her feel bad for who she is. She’s just awesome. Brady in his nerdy, and at times awkward, ways also knows how to be just a guy and is hardly affected by the wealth he has. He’s just so endearing. He’s also sexy and take charge which really made him the whole package in my book. I loved his interactions with his large family and his parents. They’re a special group and I really cannot wait to see more of them as this series progresses. Between the multifaceted characters and the layers built into the package they are, the emotion in the private moments Lennox and Brady share, the family business dynamic, and so much more, Ms. James really shines. It bears repeating that I simply loved this story. Thank you, Ms James, for a fantastic book! I am looking forward to more of the Lund clan!...more
Built is the first in a new series from author Jay Crownover and had me hooked from just the cover alone. Of course, after I dove into the story I wasBuilt is the first in a new series from author Jay Crownover and had me hooked from just the cover alone. Of course, after I dove into the story I was glued to every word and loved it from start to finish. One of the things I loved most about this book were the two main characters and just how perfectly imperfect they were. Sayer is pretty closed off and holds a stiff upper lip most of the time. But that didn’t make her unrelatable. Far from it, in fact. She’s a gal who had a crappy childhood and knows she’s gotta make a change or risk being alone for the rest of her life. She has a few friends, excels at her job and has plenty of compassion and heart when it comes to that, but it’s learning how to let that heart and compassion into her personal life that always trips her up. She’s a woman who has been hurt and is emotionally closed off because of that hurt. She’s a woman just waiting for the right guy to come and shatter those walls. Enter Zeb… Poor Zeb has been through some pretty rough times himself. But instead of closing off like Sayer did, he did the opposite and learned to love more of his life. More of what life can offer and do it with a fierce determination that I just adored. He is all man with a big soft heart and a fierce love and loyalty to those he holds close. He doesn’t back down from a challenge and does what’s right. He’s a fighter and faces two of the biggest fights in his life after meeting Sayer and getting some very unexpected news from his past. I loved that he embraced the challenges and set out to make them both work. Oh, and he’s sexy as hell. Adding real depth to these two amazing characters is the way Ms. Crownover writes. I’ve read a lot of books and there are a lot of terms and words that are overused. It just happens and it’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve come to expect certain terms or phrases when it comes to emotional scenes or love scenes, and that’s totally ok. That didn’t happen here in this book, though. There is something exceptional about the way Ms. Crownover wrote those special moments that really stood out to me. The words used to describe things like Zeb’s feelings, Sayer’s emotions, the physical moments they share, were all done with a little edge of something different that had me in love with this story. For that, I’m especially excited to read more of this series and more of Ms. Crownover’s writing. Overall, if you’re looking for new and different, this is a book you should get on your shelf. I highly recommend! Thank you, Ms. Crownover, for an amazing read!...more
