This story follows Janie, known as the funny one in her group of friends, and picks up after she was assaulted after returning home from a party. This is her journey of healing and it was phenomenal. Growing up rather shy, Janie learned that she was able to come out of her shell when she turned on the humor. And damn she was good at it. Always making people laugh and bringing a smile to someone’s face. But it was that humor that attracted the attention of a predator at a party one evening and that lead to a terrifying assault while walking home that would have turned much worse if not for the help of two bystanders. But regardless, the damage was done. Just like she would never wear the same clothes she had from that night, she never wanted to be funny again. What had always been her shining asset was now something she never wanted to bring to the surface again. Sure she had her family and friends to support her through this but she knew deep down it would take a long time before she would ever bring out the funny girl again…if ever. But then she meets Cullen. The protective, handsome, and strong boxer at the gym she and her support group were learning self-defense from. She knew a bit of his back-story and that he was helping with the program because he had gotten into trouble himself…protecting someone who couldn’t protect themselves. She was thankful to be working with him and was thankful that part of his assignment was walking her and another girl home from the gym after their sessions. Their relationship grew into a great friendship and soon she couldn’t help but start to feel more. Was she ready for that? Knowing he had his own secrets and a painful past, was he ready for that kind of relationship? Each with a painful past, Cullen and Janie have learned to start to heal but need that little bit more to complete the healing process completely….and they start to find that in each other. Can they take that last final step and make their lives better by opening their hearts and trusting once again? By believing there is still good on this world and that they deserve it? Amazing. This book was freaking amazing. It ran through so many emotions, addressed very difficult situations, and was written so well that you couldn’t help but feel for Cullen and Janie every step of the way. I totally got why Janie never wanted to go back to the person she was before the assault. I know I would try to change every single thing about myself as to avoid ever being in a horrific situation again. No, that wouldn’t guarantee safety, but I could see how it could give a bit of security in my mind. The most admirable thing about Janie is that she wants to put the assault behind her. She wants to heal and overcome and just move on. She tires every step of the way and becomes a fighter, and isn’t just “the funny girl” anymore. She really rose above adversity and took charge of her life. And with Cullen’s help she was able to open her heart as well. As for Cullen, oh my God, I love that man. He is hiding a painful and heartbreaking past and when he finally tells his story I was sobbing my eyes out. I think I was most upset because his story is the real life story of many children in this world. I appreciate that Kate took the chance in giving Cullen the kind of past she did because it is a reminder that we must protect the innocence of children and never shy away from a child in need. Of course, I’m tearing up as I type this. But like Janie, Cullen is one hell of a fighter and didn’t become a victim. He stood up and now teaches others to do the same. He’s always standing up for the underdog and it makes him the complete package of the handsome and tough exterior with a huge heart. Yes, this book had plenty of heavy moments but those moments make the triumphs so much more meaningful and I loved that. The highs outweigh the lows by far and overall I was left wearing a big, contented grin. Thank you, Kate, for writing Janie and Cullen and giving us an amazing story. I look forward to the next in the Girl Series!(less)

Sometimes you just want to ditch sappy romance and flowery prose and get down and dirty. You want to skip all that getting to know each other boring nonsense and after reading so much of those awkward first date scenes you just want those intense, sex-hazed moments. If you find yourself in that exact situation, this is the series for you. Put sexy men, a college campus and tons of wicked attraction together and you’ve got a winner. I’m currently sitting here thanking all things hot and holy and am praising Adam for giving me hot, forbidden, taboo, delicious, man love. This is a quick read packed with dirty talk and scenes that will make your toes curl. Even better? It’s well written. I’ve read my share of poorly written gay erotica and this was the exact opposite. Kudos, Adam, for taking sexy to the next level!
Episode Two: This is the second story in the Make Me Watch Series and definitely should be read AFTER reading the first episode as this story picks up where the first story ends….and what a pick up it was. Poor Bobby was left hot and wanting at the end of the first episode and lucky for him, Adam gets creative and gives our boy Bobby quite the happy ending. On top of more smoking hot scenes, we are treated to a peek a what’s to come in this series in the form of an underground digital peeping Tom operation, if you will. Campus security has more than a few dirty boys on their force and Bobby winds up helping in a way he never saw coming. Once again I loved Adam’s writing and really enjoyed Bobby in this episode. His snarky side comments to the reader were fantastic and showed him in a bit of a different light than in episode one. Once again, kudos to Adam and I cannot wait for more! (less)

CIA operative Eve Wolfe is used to having to get into different roles…after all her job relies on it. But one role she never would have expected herself in was one of prisoner. When she finds herself chained to a bed and in the hands of the man she had loved and lost, Zane Archer, she knows this isn’t going to go well. He believed her a traitor, and without being able to explain otherwise, she knows she’s in trouble. He’s looking for answers that she just can’t give him. The last mission they worked on together had ended terribly for him and he thinks she had something to do with it. Can she convince him she never would have done the things he’s accusing her of before it’s too late?
Aegis Security agent Zane Archer will never forget the act of betrayal that ruined his last mission, killed people, and almost killed him. Now, he finally has the chance to get to the bottom of it, thanks to getting his hands on Eve. Eve, the woman he once loved and the same woman he believed was responsible for that act of betrayal. Unfortunately having Eve in his grasp leads to the realization that there are much bigger forces at work here and the danger he’s facing is greater than he ever imagined. Now Aegis is at risk and so is an entire town. Will he and Eve have to work together again to find out who is behind it all? Will he ever be able to trust her again in order to do just that?
Emotions run high from the very beginning between Eve and Zane and with so much more at stake than either of them had imagined will they be able to put their past aside to get to the bottom of a plot bound to destroy not only them, but the very foundations of what they believe in?
Talk about one hell of a ride! From the very start, Zane and Eve’s story is an intense one. Secret missions, acts of duplicity, kidnapping, threats on their lives, and tons of undying lust between them add up to one hell of a combustible combination. I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire book and wasn’t sure who either Eve or Zane could trust. Even until the very end, things were unclear as to who was on team good and who was on team bad. I really enjoy that in a story! Oh, and the chemistry between Eve and Zane? Whoa. Talk about delicious. There is so much love and hate that you know from the very beginning things are going to be intense between them and it’s only a matter of time before they stop resisting the urge to get their hands on one another. When they finally give in it is scorching!
All in all, if you love high action and unbeatable chemistry, this is a book for you. Thank you, Elisabeth, for one hell of a ride!(less)

A fan of Christi’s, I am always excited to get my hands on a new release from her and Up to Me was no exception. Now that I’ve finished it I give it my vote as my favorite Christi book yet. It was phenomenal!
Graydon Locke has made a living blending in and being observant. It’s his skill at excelling at these two things that has made his job as an undercover business analyst of sorts a successful one for him. Although if he’s being honest, it’s getting a bit old and as he arrives on his latest assignment, he starts to think this may not be for him anymore. Coming in, calculating the pros and cons of closing a business or keeping it open, and giving his report to the powers that be. The endless days of living in and out of hotel rooms are starting to get old. The latest business in need of assessment though gives him a breath of fresh air. A beautiful resort manor with an equally beautiful staff member that has his blood pumping and may be exactly what he needs to gain some new perspective. Too bad from the moment he meets Ella he has had to lie about his intentions here at the resort. He needed to stay undercover. It wouldn’t matter anyway because he wouldn’t be here long enough for the truth to come out….or would he?
Ella Mayhew loved it at the resort. It was her second home, after all. But beyond that she loved her small town, her loyal friends and all the typical locals that came with small town living. It’s that small town atmosphere that makes newcomers stand out like a sore thumb. The latest sore thumb is one delicious and welcomed attraction, however. Ella’s had a rough go of things since losing her parents a few years earlier and this handsome stranger has been the first guy to pique her interest in far too long. What could be a better or more welcomed distraction than a hot and steamy temporary fling with a delicious hottie? It was so unlike her, though…could she throw some caution to the wind and see where this could lead? He wouldn’t be here for very long so what could it hurt, right?
The delicious attraction between Graydon and Ella starts off pretty innocently enough but soon grows into so much more than either of them had bargained for and soon Graydon starts to think that his career omission when they first met may come back to bite him in the arse…because the longer he knows Ella the more apparent it becomes that there’s no way he could ever recommend closing the resort she loves so much. Even though his own future may depend on doing just that. Would they be able to make it past his original act of deceit? Would either of them be interested in going from temporary to permanent anyway?
As I sit here and type this review, I am immediately drawn back into my imagination and the world Christi has built for me in the Finger Lakes in upstate New York. Oh, how I wish I could actually go there and visit right at this very moment! It’s been quite some time since I was drawn into a book world and felt so at home there. There are so many wonderful things author Barth has given this town to make it so rich and homey. The characters are well-developed and so enjoyable. Graydon and Ella have a fast connection but it didn’t feel rushed at all. Graydon is a true gentleman and wants to do right by Ella, despite the whole resort take-over undercover thing. He is patient and kind and brings Ella out of the shell she had crawled into after the death of her parents. Ella is strong all along but just needed a little push to believe it again and Graydon excelled at that push. Beyond the main couple of Ella and Graydon, are Ella’s friends and townspeople that make this book really stand out in my mind. Ella has an amazing support system in this town and it’s one she knows she’s extremely fortunate to have. There are so many quirks Christi gave this town that I fell in love with: the mailbox journal, the mayor’s dog, the annual resort party, the town bullies, the coffee flavors at the town's diner, the obvious history everyone shares with each other…all of it. As I mentioned earlier, I wish I could go for a visit right this minute!
Up to Me was a real treat to read and I highly recommend it for a great summer beach read….or lounging by an upstate New York lake!
Thank you, Christi, for giving us Ella, Graydon and a whole town to love! I cannot WAIT to see what you have in store for us next!(less)

Lose some weight, get out of her shell and learn to enjoy life without being so damn shy. Compounding the second doubts she’s having that she could actually do all if that is Logan. Her older brother’s best friend and teenage crush looks better than ever and is just as amazing as she remembers. Career driven, kind, respectful, and sexy as hell. Yeah, maybe she could skip coming out of her shell until after the wedding and when she didn’t have to see him every damn day. Easier said than done when he seems to be glued to her side. Seeing as though he runs a hugely successful company, Sophie hopes that he will be so wrapped up in work stuff that he won’t want to spend so much time with her. No such luck and Sophie soon finds herself in the world of “what if”. Could there ever be anything between her and Logan?
So, I’m also a huge fan of Samanthe’s writing and was thrilled she was a part of this series and once again, she delivers a story I couldn’t put down! Sophie Brooks is shy and sweet and has many issues most of us gals have had. That whole body image issue most of us have struggled with once or twice in life. She was easy to relate to and I appreciated that in a character. Of course, having an amazing hero like Logan to help make her realize just how special she is doesn’t hurt matters. He’s a true gentleman and wants nothing more for Sophie to see herself as he sees her….a beautiful and sexy woman. Oh, and the ways he goes about doing it? Freaking delicious! The heat he brings to the table is intense and delectable. I may never look at a hotel vanity the same way again *fans self*. The yumminess factor was off the charts with these two! Thank you, Samanthe, for giving us yet another fabulous story!(less)

She’s already got the great career and fabulous friends now she needs the one missing piece. A successful and confident man. Real husband material. And if that guy has a name, it’s Logan McCade. If only Brock McNeil would just get the memo. He’s been pestering her since arriving at this destination wedding and trying to convince her that he’s the one for her, not Logan. Fine, she’d give him one night. On her terms. That’s how she did things and with a bit of luck maybe the sweet southern Brock would get her out of his system so she can get back to business in landing husband material. If only her plan didn’t backfire right in her face. After a taste they share that one night Brock makes it even more clear that there’s no way he’s gonna give her up to Logan. Game on…
From back in Jen McLaughlin’s story, when we first met Regan, I had loved her. She’s feisty while feminine and sticks it to you before you even realize she’s done it. She is a girl that knows what she wants and will do whatever it takes to get it…all the while wearing kick ass stilettos! She says exactly what’s on her mind and too bad if you can’t keep up. Poor Brock had no idea what he had set his sights on. Luckily he matches her tenacity and won’t give up without a fight. Even when she may push him a bit too far, deep down he knows he’s the right one for her. He just needs a little time to convince her. The push and pull between these two was also a delicious build up to a phenomenal ending. Thank you, Katee, for one hall of a read!(less)

Never before has she been propositioned in such a way…with dirty talk and the promise of no frills sex. And to find out he’s part of that very wedding party with her and her friends is the icing on the buttercream iced, three tiered cake. The bigger problem is that if she’s being honest with herself, she kind of liked his dirty talk and his gruff and alpha male manner. It was so unlike her and her southern ways and yet it was such a welcomed breath of sexy and fresh air. The more time they end up spending together, thanks to the wedding, the more she realizes she may be falling for this tatted up, über masculine SWAT commander. Could opposites like this really ever attract?
Oh, man. You may know I’m a huge Tessa fan and in true Tessa fashion, she knocked my socks off with this story. No one does alpha male like she does and Reed is just one example of how well she writes these manly-man type heroes. Julie had no idea what hit her when she catches Reed’s eye and as it turns out he is just what she needs. He’s opposite her in every way. She loves pink and girly and cuddling after sex, he likes dark and manly and the word “cuddle” isn’t even in his vocab. I happen to adore characters like that and ate Reed up with a spoon. That man is alpha sex on a stick. But the softer side (well, as soft as Reed can be) he shows to Julie is simply amazing. He does the best he can to show her he wants her in his life. He shows her that he’s listened to her when she’s talked and the way he does that had me crying my eyes out. What a man! No spoilers from me, so you’ll just have to go grab a copy and enjoy Reed and Julie for yourself….and enjoy you will! Thank you, Tessa, for giving us Julie and Reed!(less)

Being her bff’s older brother, Tyler had really always been off-limits but thanks to one night in Mexico years ago, he now holds the title as the man who took her V-card. And she’s been trying to ignore him since that night….just like he had ignored her the “morning after”. But old flames die hard and being in such close proximity proves to fan the flame that burns between them and suddenly the reasons why he left he all those years ago don’t matter and with Tyler trying desperately to win back her affections the hold she has on her resolve is slowly giving way.
I really enjoyed the angry chemistry between Christine and Tyler and was pulling for them to make amends from the very beginning. That being said, Christine made that man grovel and he totally deserved every minute of it! But you know what they say about the post arguing sex, right? Hottest sex ever! Diane gave the perfect amount of push and pull into this couple’s relationship and it was a great follow up to Laura Kaye’s story as well as a great intro to the rest of the continuity! Thank you, Diane, for another hot and sexy story!(less)

Azagoth is story number 10.5 in author Larissa Ione’s Demonica series as well as novella number 6 in the 1,001 Dark Nights Series and one of the books I have been dying for this year. As always, Larissa didn’t disappoint. Azagoth was every bit of the tortured, sexy, bad boy I was looking forward to and Lilliana was his perfect match.
Fallen angel Azagoth is notorious for his dark and powerful ways, running the underworld, sorting souls, and being known otherwise as the Grim Reaper. But he wasn’t always this way. He had been an angel before and had once been on the sunny side, so to speak. After all these years in the darkness and with that darkness slowly seeping into his very bones, he yearns for more. But who in their right mind would come down to this dark and desolate realm to date him…the freaking Grim Reaper? No one. Unless he could work some magic and ask for a heavenly favor. They did owe him, after all. Getting someone to take over this realm wasn’t exactly a job angels had been lining up for and now he would use the sacrifice he made to his advantage by asking for a female he could spend eternity with. He wanted more than the “scratch an itch” kind of relationship. Of course he never expected the beautiful and feisty angel they sent him. Lilliana was like no one he had even encountered. She was strong-willed, smart, beautiful and unafraid of him. And he immediately wants her with a passion that defies logic. Could she learn to love a man like him? In a world like this?
Lilliana knew she was in big trouble with the heavens and when she makes a deal that could get her out of that trouble and possibly save her wings and ability to time travel, she figures how bad could it be? All she had to do was go into the underworld, hang out with the Grim Reaper, Azagoth, and last a few weeks. Easy peasy, right? She knows she is strong enough to endure the darkness but as soon as she gets to his realm, she knows she’s in trouble. She may be able to ignore all the creepy crawlies and the darkness down in the underworld but there’s only so long she will be able to ignore the fierce attraction she feels towards Azagoth. Luckily, his reputation for being a surly bad boy precedes him and he doesn’t disappoint, being miserable and demanding at every turn. Unfortunately, Lilliana soon realizes she likes the banter they have and finds herself craving his company more and more. Would she really want to stay here with him forever? Would he want her to if he ever found out the deal she made to save herself?
They say that love will always find a way, but never before has love had such a hard road to travel. Will Lilliana and Azagoth be able to meet love halfway and complete the journey?
When you read as much as I do, there are a few authors that reading their newest work it feels like coming home. Larissa is one of those authors for me and reading Azagoth was like coming home. Her writing style is stellar and she has an amazing talent with the tortured hero making the reader want to hate him but unable to ever do so. Azagoth was one of those heroes. He is dark and brooding but deep down just wants some version of happiness. And my God, I wanted it for him. Lilliana isn’t going to cower to his demands, which is something he is very much unaccustomed to. It pisses him off all while exciting and intriguing him. Lilliana is just as intrigued and excited with Azagoth when she sees how he has lived his life and how deliciously and darkly sexy he is. He was unlike anyone she had ever met and that would prove to be a big check in the “stay in the underworld forever” column.
Lilliana’s gift of time travel is an exceptional gift and gives Azagoth a sense of joy he hasn’t felt in far too long. Seeing the simple joy on his face when they travel to see a landscape he hasn’t seen in hundreds of years gives a gift right back to Lilliana and before they both realize it…they have stumbled into a relationship neither one had ever dreamed of finding. I really can’t think of an adjective to adequately explain just how beautiful Lilliana and Azagoth are together. You’ll just have to take my word on this…and buy this book. You will NOT be disappointed.
Thank you, Larissa, for being you and for writing such remarkable stories. (less)

Well, Kimberly do...moreGimme Some Sugar is the second book in author Kimberly Kincaid’s Pine Mountain Series and follows Turn up the Heat, a book I adored. Well, Kimberly does it again with this sweet and sassy story. I loved it! Carly di Matisse is used to life in a chaotic restaurant kitchen. She thrives on it. It’s been he life’s passion and she has made one hell of a name for herself in the culinary world. Unfortunately she’s made that name along side her soon to be ex-husband and the divorce has lead her to the small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Carly now finds herself having to balance starting at a new restaurant, turning it into one of her signature successes, and battling in a bitter divorce. With the way Carly’s luck was going, she wasn’t really surprised when, during a storm, a huge tree comes crashing down on her deck and decimates it. Things start looking up when the contractor in charge of fixing it turns out to be a delicious piece of eye candy. But Carly wasn’t ready to dive into the dating scene just yet so for now, she would look and not touch. The problem with living in a small town is that keeping distance from people isn’t an easy task and soon Carly finds herself running into Jackson more and more…she also finds herself looking forward to it. Will Jackson be what Carly needs to make a new start…both in life and love? Jackson Carter is in a pickle. He’s happy with his single guy lifestyle, dating on and off, and keeping things unattached. But his mother isn’t and with a family party coming up, he knows it’ll be miserable if he doesn’t bring a date. With the help of his friends, he’s come up with a plan for that party but the problem was the long run. He really didn’t want to settle down just yet but he knows he really should start thinking about it. And the one person who’s gotten him to start that thinking is the chef whose deck he’s rebuilding. There’s something about Carly that calls to him and it’s getting harder and harder for him to ignore. Could she be the one to make him ditch his bachelor ways? Take two people both dead set against a relationship, add some intense chemistry and even the most unwilling will find themselves believing in love. This book was delicious. What I loved was that neither Carly nor Jackson was looking for any type of relationship. Both were pretty resistant at the idea and then all of a sudden, neither one could deny the magnetic pull between them. Carly’s got her hands full with her jerk of an ex and starting a new kitchen and Jackson is the quintessential bachelor and loves his life. But you know what they say about finding love when you least expect it! Adding another fabulous layer to this story are the strong family ties both Carly and Jackson have with their mothers. It was so touching that Jackson cared so much for his ma and what she wanted for him and his life. The same goes for Carly. Even though Carly’s mom isn’t happy she’s getting divorced, and it has been a hot button issue between them, Carly still wants to make her mom happy. That type of mother/child closeness was a treat to read. But my favorite thing about Kimberly’s writing, besides dynamic characters and smoking hot chemistry, is how she includes the art of food into her stories. Kimberly’s passion for the culinary arts comes out in her descriptive narrative on flavors, tastes and smells. It’s truly an experience to read. And of course, always makes me hungry! Thank you, Kimberly, for another mouth-watering read. I can’t wait to see what’s next for our favorite Pine Mountain gang!(less)

Well, it was well worth the wait. This, so far, is officially my favorite book in the series. Loved, loved, LOVED! Laney Summerlyn lives a very routine and organized life on the beloved horse farm left to her by her grandfather. Learning to live with a degenerative disease that is slowly stealing her sight, having such a routine and organized life is crucial to letting her keep her independence and stay with her cherished horses. With a little help around the farm from her close family friend, Sam, she has managed to do just that….until a severe summer storm rips through the farm and sends something, or someone, crashing through her barn and turns her life completely upside-down. Chrysander Notos, Supreme God of the South Wind, is on the hunt for his brother, Eurus, and is determined to save him from a death sentence that was handed down from the Olympic gods…even if the sentence was rightfully earned by his evil brother’s transgressions. But it seems that all the paths that should lead him to Eurus turn up to be dead ends. On this night, however, he finds Eurus and also finds himself in a fight nearly to the death. Severely wounded and completely out of it, Chrys winds up crashing through Laney’s barn and into her life. Will she be able to heal not only his physical wounds, but also his burdened soul? Together, Laney and Chrys, along with Chrys’s family, must journey on a mission to find Eurus as the situation passes bad and heads straight into disaster territory. Eurus has gained too much power and must be stopped. Now, after helping Chrys heal, she unknowingly has a front row seat to otherworldly conflict. Will a human be able to withstand a clash between gods? Will a god be able to withstand the attraction and lure to a human? As you all know, I am a huge fan of Laura’s writing…and with this book she continues to earn her spot as a favorite author of mine. This story was told with such feeling and description that I honestly felt what Chrys and Laney were going through. I could feel Laney’s determination and perseverance, I could feel Chrys’s need for a resolution and the swirling emotions he has concerning his brother. The story line was exciting and well written. The back and forth between loving moments, terrifying fight scenes and defeated sadness was done with the perfect amount of each that ultimately gave a delicious balance to the story. I also appreciated the mythology built into the story and felt that was done equally well…it wasn’t overly explained and filled with more than necessary for the story line which sometimes happens when mythology is involved. Ultimately this story has everything I love in a book…I laughed, I had white-kuckled-ereader-gripping moments and I also cried…a lot. To me, that’s what a great story does for a reader….takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. South of Surrender was that, and more. Since I am not a fan of spoilers, I can’t give you much more in regards to what happens with Eurus and if they resolve their conflict. I will tell you that I am anxiously awaiting the next release in this series to see what is next for our favorite Anemoi family. It was so great to see our friends from the previous books…Owen and Megan, Zeph & Boreus. It was also wonderful to meet new characters that will undoubtedly be seen more in the future! Thank you, Laura, for yet another amazing story and for giving us Chrys *dreamy sigh*. I look forward to reading more from The Hearts of the Anemoi Series and, well, honestly, more of anything you have to write for us! *I received a copy of this book for an honest review(less)

Holy hotness! Computer guru Kady Dresco has got some stiff competition when it comes to bidding on one of the biggest contracts of her career. Colton Brooks. She’s known him almost her entire life and has never been able to shake the attraction she’s had for him, which of course isn’t making this whole bidding for the same contract thing any easier. And now, after a huge storm cancels all travel plans to get home, they are stuck together in the last motel room in the area. She’s used to keeping her feelings for him under wraps for years so one night in a motel room should be fine…right? Easier said than done….especially when she starts to think her one sided attraction may not be one sided any more. Colton Brooks can’t believe his luck. It’s bad enough he’s up against Kady for the contract he’d love to get for his company, but now Mother Nature has them stuck together for the night. There was always something about Kady that drew him in, but she’s his best friend’s little sister and was off limits. Sure, she isn’t little any more, but it still didn’t mean he could entertain the idea of being with someone like Kady. She’d surely run for the hills if she knew what turned him on and that made staying away from her a little easier. But when he finds out she may actually be willing to try things his way, his hopes are raised. Could he possibly have a chance with the girl he’s been drawn to for too many years to count? Despite knowing each other for years, and having a shared secret mutual attraction, there was never a good time for Colton and Kady to get together until the fates intervene. Things are bound to heat up between this two when they both face what they’ve been hiding for each other for far too long. Oh. My. Yum. This book was absofreakingloutely amazing. The heat factor was off the charts and with two amazing characters, Dare to Resist may be one of my favorite Laura Kaye works. Colton is a bit of a damaged hero and is wrapped in one handsome, kind, charming package. Kady is strong and honest with a dash of spitfire attitude that makes her a great character to read. The two of them together make one hell of a great match. I think one of the things I liked best about them is that having known one another for so long, we got to skip all of the early parts of relationship building and get right to the hot stuff….and oh my was it HOT! I mean really, really, hot. There’s also a lot of honesty between Kady and Colton, which made for a great pace of the story. There wasn’t a whole lot of game playing between them and being able to cut to the chase was pretty amazing. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the rest of the series! Thank you, Laura, for another amazing read!(less)
