This story started out as a fun, flirty story about two friends who each harbored feelings for the other. While there was a sexual undertone to the attraction, I couldn't help feel that the desire went much deeper. As Sadie discusses the details of the catering event she's just agreed to, her thoughts wander to all the possibilities and situations she can imagine with Paul and we see how deeply rooted her attraction to Paul is. Thinking about Paul's friend, Josh, just spices things up a bit.
I really did love this story. It was a classic tale with a naughty twist. Who can resist the story of long time friends and their venture into a romantic relationship? Throw a sex club, a Domination fetish and a threesome into the mix and things really take off....more
Sapphire is a short read, but what it lacks in length it more than makes up for in content.
I found myself pushed to my emotional limits while reading Sapphire. Taylor guards herself so carefully, always staying in complete control of everything in her life. When Adam comes along and challenges her, everything she has built up starts to crack. He forces her to acknowledge that she wants to let go, she wants to lose control, and more than that, she wants to be controlled.
Adam sees the submissive in Taylor, or as he likes to call her, M. He recognizes that underneath the hard exterior is a woman who is ready and willing to bend, as long as the right pressure is applied. The first encounter that M had with Adam was hot enough. It touched on a bit of bondage and exhibitionism, as well as a bit of dominance. But when M takes Adam up on his offer to join him for an evening, things really start to heat up.
It was hard for me to like M at first. She was so closed up to the rest of the world that the author couldn't help but close her up to the reader as well. Adam was a little tricky. I liked him, especially his sex appeal. But as the story progressed, I found myself flip-flopping on whether or not I liked him. After I finished the book and sat back to think about it, I realized that I really did like Adam. He was never cruel, never demeaning and always in complete control of both M and himself. He pushed M (and me) to her limits, forcing her to face her fears of losing control. As an experienced dominant, Adam was sure to remind M that all she had to do was say her safe word to bring everything to an end. Throughout the evening, Adam gave M time to process each of the different experiences before moving on to the next. His patience was endearing and made me really like him.
While I have read some BDSM stories before, it wasn't until reading this that I realized what BDSM is all about. Most people think that it's all about spanking and bondage because it's thrilling and sexy. I'm sure it is for most people. But I think that while it is thrilling and sexy on the surface, there's so much more to it than that. When I sit back and think about this story, it's amazing to me how much M's experience with Adam allowed her to grow. Adam was able to strip her down (figuratively speaking), expose her, force her to face her fears and then build her back up again. And I think that is what the root of BDSM is. Finding someone you trust enough to be completely exposed, without fear of ridicule or judgement....more
Wow, this was a wild ride through a roller coaster of emotion and sexual fantasies!
Sasha White doesn't hold back and delivers life blow by blow to her protagonist, Katie. She starts us off in the story with Katie taking charge and living out her first fantasy. But that is where Katie lets go and turns full control over to Joe and things really heat up. But to Katie, letting go of control is her escape from a world where she is in control 24/7. Her job, her family, just life in general requires her to be in control and on the ball. So giving it all up when Joe makes his demands makes her nights with him even more intense.
But there is more to this story than sex. Katie is ready to leave town and move to the big city where she can just blend in. She needs to get away from her clingy mother and her new boyfriend. But when things with Joe heat up, her plans don't seem so simple anymore.
This was a great story and Sasha White delivered it well. Even Joe, who I didn't love in the beginning, eventually won me over. The way she gradually moved Joe and Katie from casual sex to something more felt natural. Katie didn't just fall head over heels in love with him, though she did have enough lust to keep me interested. Joe is a hard character, rarely even cracking a smile. He didn't just turn to mush when he was around Katie, but he showed a few tender moments to make me eventually like him.
I'm disappointed it took me so long to read this book (life getting in the way and all that), because while there was a lull in the "action" after the first scene, there was plenty to make up for it later. And the break in the sex gave me a chance to see more about Katie than just her in the bedroom (or living room, or kitchen, or... well, you get the idea) and learn more about the people in her life. The secondary characters bring Katie to life on the pages as she struggles with her relationship with her mother and her best friend....more
This novella was just as hot as the summer night it's set in.
A wedding, a sweltering summer night, a house full of guests and the quest for relief sets the scene for this steamy encounter.
Evie has so many house guests that she doesn't even know who is spending the night after her sister's wedding. All she knows is she's hot, miserable and doesn't have the privacy to sleep how she prefers: naked. Unable to stand the heat any more, she wanders into the kitchen for some cold water and instead runs into Lucas.
Lucas and Evie burn up the pages in this story straight out of any woman's fantasy. ...more
