Because these books were so well written, and caught my attention, I've been reading ever since. I've read thousands of books since (there was a time I used to read 4-5 books per week...), and these books are why I still love reading. When I say that Anne of Green Gables changed my life forever, I'm not kidding. I love Anne of Green Gables....more

I went to bed early and stayed up late, reading this one. This installment I just could not put down. This is a total head-fuck. Gone is the wannabe Dom, gone is the jerk, in his place is this sweet guy who's dying to get his lady back and move on with his life.
Thankfully this one doesn't end on a cliffy. Seeing what kind of cliffhanger Ms Huss left the readers with in the previous book, I'm guessing this is her way to go easy on everyone. Thank fuck. Cause now that I've read all the books pretty much in one sitting (I said pretty much), I'm kinda regretting not waiting to start these books until I had them all in my possession. It's that good.
Right. I'll be a good girl and be patiently impatient, and try to immerse myself in another book while I wait for the final book in this serial to come out....more

So much so that it has really messed with my reading challenge and put me behind on my way towards my goal. Anyway…
When we first meet Cade, a lot of awful stuff happens to him, and my heart was bleeding for him. There was no way for me to put this book down until I knew for sure he would be all right. This book is intense right off the bat. When we meet Mara, she doesn't have long to live due to a mysterious illness. I guessed early on what her issues were and what her cure would be. Reading on was just a matter of having my guesses confirmed.
Even though it was predictable, what made it such an enjoyable read, was the author’s writing and her story telling skills. When I wasn't reading the book, I was thinking about it, and when I was reading it, putting it down for whatever reason was close to impossible. I loved this book, I loved the plot, I loved the characters, and I’m eager to see the second book in the series published....more

So much more than erotica, so much more than menage, so much more than BDSM, so much more than romance. Just so much more.
I haven't read the other books in the series, and honestly, after reading this one I don't know if I want to. I loved this one so much I'm afraid the others will be too much of a letdown. I fell completely in love with Tyler and Seth, and I quickly warmed up to Allison. They all just had this incredible chemistry that made the pages sizzle. Yes, they also had erotic chemistry, but that's not what I'm talking about.
What makes this one stand out from other Erotic Menage books is that the author is showing us instead of telling us. She lets us climb into the characters' heads and shares them with us in the most intimate way - and no, not in the erotic sense, get your mind out of the gutter. These characters climbed under my skin and they stayed there, weeks after I finished reading this book. This is one I won't be able to forget that easily, no matter how many books I read.
Ms Bacio has me completely entranced in her world. Having been to New Orleans, it's like I'm back there when reading these books.

This book has a few grammar mistakes, continuity issues, ages of some people are out of sync, and a mix-up in names. Regardless, it's a very good read. I love the introduction of new characters, like Trev's sister and her boo. There is also a little more smut in this book, which is why I've added it to my erotica shelf.
If you're willing to ignore the bad covers and aren't looking for heavy plots, this is the perfect series to read. The characters are solid, the plot makes sense, and Ms Bacio has a really strong voice....more

Having fallen in love with Alexandra Ivy's Bayou Heat series, I was hoping to score gold with When Darkness Comes as well. I was on the fence for a while, took some time to warm up to the characters. A lot of pages are spent setting the world in the first book of a new series. But once the plot got running, it got running!
I was literally screaming at the characters. And I do mean screaming. Out loud! I knew they were being set up, but they still fell right in the trap.
I love Alexandra Ivy's writing. It's intense and well paced. And her characters are well developed, easy to connect with. I loved the ending of this book, I love where Ms Ivy took Dante and Abby. They didn't come together easily, there was a lot of doubt and mistrust before their story was done. I loved that it wasn't all fluff and pink clouds. Even with all the suspense and excitement, I see that Guardians Of Eternity might very well end up being my comfort books. The books I'll seek out when all else fails....more

Or at least with her Celtic Wolves world. The world building is summed up in one word; epic. Throughout the book I was at the edge of my seat, even though the book holds a high pace, I couldn't get fast enough to the next scene. Yes, this goes straight to my favorites shelf.
I loved the leading characters, Rosa and Luc. They're both strong and both have a past that torments them. What I love the most about these books, is that Ms DeLima doesn't write weak characters. They have a backbone! And they're not afraid to stand up for what they believe in. If you strip away all the paranormal qualities from these characters, they're someone you connect with. You can put yourself in their shoes.
Even the bad guys are interesting. They're not written in such a way that they pull at your sympathies, but still you're interested in what drives them. You hate them, you want to see them die - but you're invested in them. That's some kick ass bad guys!
I hope this isn't the end of the series, as some supporting characters are left open ended. I need to know what happens next!!
The one thing I did not like about this book, were the drawings. I like to see things my own way in my mind, having someone supply my the images irks me. I don't want to see pictures the way someone else imagines it, I want to imagine things for myself. It is after all why I read books and not comic books....more
